To denigrate the union movement in this way is to denigrate the right and the ability of people who are not rich to organize and to accomplish things together.

We should never denigrate any other culture but rather help people to understand the relationship between their own culture and the dominant culture. When you understand another culture or language, it does not mean that you have to lose your own culture.

Ode to the Wobblies

I am decent college student
Who does like to roam
To travel many a mile around
And to go and go

I like to roam everywhere I can
Without rime or reason
I will go ever I can go and roam
In the summer season

To roam is to go and go some more
And to leave thy home behind
To go out here and everywhere
To ride to ride to ride

I will I say go near and far
To every mine and mill
To help to roam and a ways know
That the union lives still

That I will help every union man
Striking on the line
That they may go and organize
out with their picket sign

Telling the boss that they want
To get their fare share
To get every thing that they need
Here there everywhere

Oh this I will say to you
That I will be there
When worker start to organize and strike
It’s I who will share

in the triumph and in the fight
in the beatings that come
I will stand among us you all
Standup now endure

For working men across this land
I will say once again
That where men organize that ‘s were we win
At ever river bend

That we may win the good fight
All across this land
That we may stand and fight
All across the dessert sand

That we may win this great battle
All across this land
From California to New York
To the beaches and

From north to south east to west
And everywhere in between
When working men organize and fight
That’s were the Wobbllies will be

Am I in ballad meter?

Henry Miller

Life has no other discipline to impose, if we would but realize it, than to accept life unquestioningly. Everything we shut our eyes to, everything we run away from, everything we deny, denigrate, or despise, serves to defeat us in the end. What seems nasty, painful, evil, can become a source of beauty, joy, and strength, if faced with an open mind. Every moment is a golden one for him who has the vision to recognize it as such.

Downfall of an Affair

It was a delusion
To think I could deflower you
I failed to decipher the debris
That we blindly scattered
It was a dubious attempt on my part
There was no need to dawdle
With the delicacy of the decadence
I made it a debauchery of epic proportions
Unable to defuse such a dolorous ambition
Like a despot lacking any devoir
I failed to demarcate the obvious
Of what I wish of this desiccate romance
How do I navigate from becoming demur
And not denigrate with depravity
To someone so debonair
I think I’ll just die

Life After Graduation

Graduates - go forth and think positively about the future,
Even though the world is an unpredictable place
With everyday conflicts and disputes hovering over you.
A right attitude will enable you to cope and face.

You are a part of a growing movement in society,
Your generation will accomplish monumental things,
You can be a part of this fabulous movement now
If you are willing to embrace it and see what life brings.

Graduates who have been able to adapt to change
Have survived the years of turmoil in the world today.
Don't be fearful of finding exciting things to accomplish?
Don't miss out on everything that is important along the way?

Each graduate is unique and want different things.
Now is the time to decide which direction you will go,
The time to decide what kind of person you want to be,
A person who is afraid of change or one curious to know.

There's going to come to a point in your life
When you will need to be embraced and comforted too.
Always have the courage to follow your heart and intuition
And put forth your best effort in everything you do.

Remember - there is life after graduation.

Propaganda

Nations denigrate the enemies,
All countries of an esteem shall have abilities.
How will leadership see fresh news
When we ask for messages to amuse?
The belief resides along the time of life,
It is again and again, the health and knife.
One anthem after another, always,
Sentences will join to make essays.
This I disagree with, the leader is foul,
Wonders inside vex and irritate and growl.
Let nations split as special news reaches the good area,
Then the birth of a land has been propaganda.

I Wouldnt Normally Do This Kind Of Thing

Ask me why
Ill say its most unusual
How can I even try to explain
Why today, I feel like dancing
Singing like lovers sing
When I wouldnt normally do this kind of thing
I wouldnt normally do this kind of thing
Ask me when
Ill say it started when I met you
And ever since then
I knew that the past wouldnt last
For right now I think Im running
A race I know Im gonna win
And I wouldnt normally do this kind of thing
I wouldnt normally do this kind of thing
If people say Im crazy
I tell 'em that it's true
I let them watch with amazement
Say it wont last beyond breakfast
Its just a phase hes going through
Denigrate or speculate
On what Im going through
Because it isnt the sort of thing Id normally do
Ask me what
Ill say I think its good for you
Believe it or not
I know where its all leading to
I feel like taking all my clothes off
And dancing to the rite of spring
And I wouldnt normally do this kind of thing
I wouldnt normally do this kind of thing
I wouldnt normally do this kind of
This kind of thing

Used As Blood Transfusions

What am I hoping to accomplish,
With my 'poetic' offerings?
That's a good question.
Maybe one day they will be used,
As blood transfusions.

'You are joking, right? '

Of course I am.
I meant heart transplants.
But then again,
Some of the 'stuff' I write...
Have lives of their own.
They may not want to be used,
To jump start somebody else's existence.

'Well...
I must admit,
Some things written do seem to have lives...
All their own.'

That's true.
I have written some things to have people tell me,
I wrote as if I was looking inside their hearts.
And...
They had not a clue,
I knew that already.
Most writers to be admired have that ability.

However,
I will admit...
I do wish to have my 'work',
Flowing through the veins of people.

'You are such a joker.'

I know.
Some have found me to be,
Quite hysterical.

Sonnet: Misjudge Him Not, O Critic

Go to hell, ye critic who tries in vain,
A poet’s love-affair to unravel;
His sensuous sex details- to pry insane;
From his own poems composed, a marvel.

Remember thou, the poet’s a Creator!
And with time, turns a literary Wizard;
In the art of painting words, a Master;
Who can write even about a lizard!

Oh, denigrate not, man of such greatness,
With silly conjectures, thine assumptions;
Mar not his name with acts of carelessness,
Belittling his work beyond redemption.

Oh, let the man in each poet remain!
And judge his art for art’s sake, sans disdain.

Sonnet XXIV

Do not reproach me, Ladies, if I've loved
And felt a thousand torches burn my veins,
A thousand griefs, a thousand biting pains
And all my days to bitter tears dissolved.

Thus, Ladies, do not denigrate my name.
If I did wrong, the pain and punishment
Are now. Don't file their daggers to a point.
You must know, Love is master of the game:

No need of Vulcan to explain your fire,
Nor of Adonis to excuse your desire,
But with less cause and far less occasion,

As the whim takes her, idly she can curse
You with a stronger and stranger passion.
But take care your suffering is not worse !

What Makes Me Crazy? -Lila's Story

They found me one day
wandering the wilderness,
hearing voices.

They found me one day
saying 'I hear voices
as clearly as you hear my voice
in this room
yet no one else hears
so that makes me crazy?
The voices denigrate me.
They deny me
and what I want is for them to go away.

Yet, when they speak
they mock me
saying
'they can't hear us because we are blocking them'
and they think you are crazy- this is what makes
us strong
and you weak.'

I hear these voices
and have to drown them out
so I don't hear.
So I don't hear
So I can sleep.

What I need is someone
who believes me:
they know if someone does
their power
is gone.

Does that make me crazy?
I don't think so..
