I have to constantly remind myself that I am communicating with a person with hearing loss.

The thing about hearing loss is that no one can see it. Most people are so impatient; they just assume that the person with hearing loss is being rude, or slow-witted.

You Remind Me Of Gold
Baby, when I think about you
And thats when I think
I think about gold
You remind me of gold
And when I see the sunrise in the sky
And when I hear your brakes come squealing by
I forget
Everything Ive been told
You remind me of gold
You remind me of gold
You remind me of gold
Baby I always think about you
I think of the life and glory you hold
You remind me of gold
And even though there was no sun today
And though you are a thousand miles away
You remind me of gold
You remind me of gold
You remind me of gold
You remind me of gold
You remind me of gold
You remind me of gold
You remind me of gold
You remind me of gold
You remind me of gold
You remind me of gold

Hearing loss very often is such a gradual phenomenon that the person is in denial. You really have to be patient with them in getting them to come forward to get help.

Opurtunity
Opportunity
Loss it seems is the worst kind of sorrow
Loss of a dream
Loss of a person
But what of the loss of opportunity
Opportunity for a dream
Opportunity for time with a person
Can not having the chance of loss
Be worse than loss itself
More prominent
More painful
An aching sense that if only you’d had the chance
You would at least have memories
Good
Bad
Would it matter as long as you could remember
Loss it seems is the worse kind of sorrow
But worse still is the loss of opportunity

Waste is worse than loss. The time is coming when every person who lays claim to ability will keep the question of waste before him constantly. The scope of thrift is limitless.

Despise
What I really despise,
these tears I shed will never go away
the tears that fall, will remind me of my pain
the pain of loss is what I speak
the pain that made me fall to my knees
this pain is what I so despise but,
all I can do is to fall and cry
I lose my way,
to this never ending pain
I loss reason
to why she never came
the answers I come to will forever haunt
me
this pain of loss
is what truly makes me scream
this yelling person who is me
will forever continue to cry and scream
that’s why I hate to have these tears fall from my eyes
this nightmare of falling tears is what I really despise

God's reasons for communicating with man must be subsumed under his reason for communicating to him his account of his creation of the world - and man.

Wishing For The Past
For Bobcat
After all these lonely years
Why do I still love you so much
Why do I still miss your smile
And still crave your touch
I hear your sweet voice
In my dreams each night
And I constantly wonder
How can I make this right
Still lost in the sweet dreams
I wake and reach for you
But your love is just a memory
A dream I wish would come true
Why do I still feel the loss
Down so deep in my soul
When will I understand it all
So my heart can be whole
You were not my first love
But I promise you will be my last
I will mourn your loss forever
Constantly wishing for the past

A workshop is a way of renting an audience, and making sure you're communicating what you think you're communicating. It's so easy as a young writer to think you're been very clear when in fact you haven't.

Loss Of...
Loss it seems is the worst kind of sorrow
Loss of dreams, the dreams of tomorrow
Loss of the moments you two should have shared
Loss of opportunities to show her you cared
Loss of the memories you both could have created
Loss of the romance once intense as you dated
Loss of a kiss, caress, or embrace
Loss of that special feeling no one else can replace
Loss of a look, the twinkle in her eye
Loss of the touch as you pass each other by
Loss of a future, from a past of regret
Loss of a last chance, how many do you get
Loss of a promise you never meant to break
Loss of two hearts that forever will ache

Life is Loss
I have given this one most thought.
To learn this lesson you may not want.
But everybody knows and everybody felt
Some have seen more with the hand they've been dealt.
But I’m going to remind you because it seems.
That change is the worst enemy that deems
The fear that you have for the future
Is the loss that you will lose there?
But life is loss but not all loss comes
In the form of death or separation from
Two loves who no longer give
Each other their own life to live.
Because sometimes people have to walk away
From the hurt that they feel each day.
Sometimes people have to let go of the feelings
And move on with the day to day dealings.
Or never find themselves without remorse
And never having any recourse
Of the life that is loss and always having to carry
Those people that which they should bury.

I Am...FREE
I am...
FREE.
'Of what? '
Well...
What sense would it make,
To be free?
If I do not constantly,
Remind myself of it?
'Why would you have to remind yourself? '
One never knows,
What version of it...
Is more expensive to experience.
I like mine basic.
I find it more cost effective.
And besides...
I am on a fixed budget.
And that's worth reminding myself,
Just how free I am.
'I can't wait until I am free like that.
I have creditors calling me on a daily basis,
To validate my bondage.'

l Losses Are Sometime Good...
Loss, most of the time bad. On occasion, great!
SOME TIME A LOSS CAN BE GOOD!
Can loss sometime be happy. You bet! Ask some
divorced couples.
The other guy had a loss and I won!
My ex had a loss, of most of our assets. Yes,
you guessed it, I got 'em!
Insurance companies, now there's some, that
many take great delight,
when they suffer a loss.
When the tax man does an audit, if they have
a loss, we have a win! (best kind of loss)
The person who brings suite against you,
suffers a loss. (Ain't that sweet?)
A hostile mother-in-law, suffers a loss,
when her daughter gets divorced.
When one experiences a weight loss.
Now that's something that would make
millions of people happy!
When the owner of your building, is deemed
to be, 'rent controlled, ' it brings a loss
to the greedy titleholder. (break out the champagne)
When the neighbor you hadn't spoken to for years,
has a loss, of the keys, to her car.
When the kid, who keeps running over your lawn,
with his bike, has a loss, of the two wheel monster.
When you child, who you love, but drives you nuts
with their loud music, has a broken stereo,
and a loss of music. (They're unhappy. You're ecstatic.)
When one has a loss of sleep, because their spouse
was amorous all night. (Ahhhh, the good old days.)
When your in-laws, prepare to come to your house,
for the first time, and have a loss of directions.
When your spouse, who cremates every barbecue
they ever handled, has a loss of the coals.
(Actually you hid them.)
When the know-it-all comes to your home, and
can't say a word, because they had a loss of
their dentures.
Remember...If you have a loss, sometime,
the loss is good!

Ballad Of ‘Memo’ Roy
For JoAnn
Who in conversation inspired this little ditty.
This is the Ballad of ‘Memo’ Roy
the fastest memos in the world.
Roy writes a memo every minute
just to remind himself what to do.
He even writes one to tell himself
he must visit the loo.
It all started many years ago
when the doctor told Roy
he was suffering from
short-term memory loss.
Now he writes memos
to remind himself to write a memo
for everything he must do.
He writes one late at night
to remind him
to get up in the morning
and one in the morning
to remind him to go to bed at night.
It is estimated he writes
quite a few hundred memos everyday.
His house is filed with little bits
of yellow paper stuck up here and there.
He couldn’t watch TV
even if he wanted to.
There are s many memos on it
you can’t see the screen.
One day his pen ran out
and no memos he could write.
He couldn’t even write a memo
to remind himself to buy a pen.
Then he found a pencil
and shouted that will do.
Now he is able to write memos to himself
to tell himself what to do.
As far as I know,
he hasn’t written a memo
to remind himself to sharpen
the pencil once and a while.

Answer to loss.
Do I have an answer to loss?
Do you?
The answer to loss! ! ! ! !
I am so lucky I got to know the precious person.
I got to see their beautiful heart and their grace.
I got to enjoy their presence.
That I can treasure.and keep special in my heart.
And maybe loss is just that – loss.
But just as we have loss,
We have all the special memories
That we can keep special in our minds forever,
And that is something that will never die.
So maybe the answer to loss! ! ! is to treasure the memories
Of our loved one! !
For as long as we have a memory
We never lose! ! to loss.

Future Imperative
Essential to efficiency.
When writing prose or poetry.
Elegant simplicity,
will enhance the clarity.
Of what you’re trying to convey
in the most artistic way
Although it makes me sad to say
Standards are slipping day by day.
Communicating at high speed.
Young people do not see the need.
For rules they think needs must impede.
The messages they want to read..
The youngsters use technology
to sweep away the pedantry.
By far the vast majority
adapted to it readily.
A small vocal minority
Bemoaned the loss of purity
And stubbornly refused to see.
That language changes constantly.
That in the future there would be
a greater need potentially.
A switch towards simplicity
and even less formality.
The flowery language of the past
was very slowly overcast.
It was too cumbersome to last.
When change is due it happens fast.
The need for speed bound to increase.
That does not mean that we should cease.
To write in ways that please
and make each work a masterpiece.
Communicating speedily
a modern day necessity
But we don’t need to let it be
Destroyer of our literacy
We have free will so we can choose
What form of language we should use
What to accept or to refuse
We stand to gain more than we lose.
We can store electronically
more books than any library
of any merit literally
on one small chip quite easily
The nerds can txt phonetically
Where speed is a priority.
While scholars maintain purity
Of classic prose and poetry.
