People that haven't seen us yet are shocked because they think that Alice Cooper must be a female folksinger. They don't expect the whole thing.

From the moment I leave my house or my hotel room, the public owns me. The public made Alice Cooper and I can't imagine ever turning my back on my fans.

People Expect Too Much From Me
aug,11,2010
people expect me to be perfect,
because i'm smart,
people expect me to get good grades,
because of all the hard work i put in,
people expect me to have my own business,
because i can be talented and creative,
people expect me to be a push over,
rather than a girl who speaks her mind,
people expect me to be something i'm not,
but all i can be is only myself,
people expect me to deal with life,
i can only deal with it the best i can,
people expect me to handle more than i can,
but who is it really for or what do i have to prove?
people expect me to be who they want,
but did they ever stop to think of what i wanted?

That was very close to getting killed. Usually at pop festivals we have people jumping on stage.

I don't expect that we're going to become the biggest craze. If it happened, I'd be really shocked. I think people will dig it, but there will be a sea of people who just don't get it.

All I really wanted to do was make an album that was going to be just back to what I like to do... And it was a coincidence that these new bands, this new wave of bands, were doing Alice and Iggy rock.

You can't get the visual thing on the record as much as you'd like to. We produced this album, and we'd never done that before, except when we produced singles for ourselves.

Do Your Thing
Yeah...
Dont stop now...
You know I did it again...
I see you again from time to time...
I know whatchu lookin for...
I can give it to you...
Go on do your thing...
[chorus]
Go on do your thing mama
Just enjoy yourself
You aint gotta be all by yourself
Your not lookin for a man
You just want a special friend
To lend a helpin hand tonight
Go on do your thing...
Baby your sure comin on strong
But aint nothin wrong
With going after whatchu want
How that youve been workin all week
Now your workin on me, feelin on me, buying me drinks
And your tellin me...
[female chorus]
Im not a
Cause I slept with someone
So Im not a
If I want a little
Im not tryin ta judge ya
I just wanna love ya
[chorus]
Girl the way your lookin at me
I can say your a freak
And baby, I like what I see
You say its been too long
You dont mean to come on strong
But you really need a tune up from someone...
Oh but...
[female chorus]
Im not tryin ta judge ya
I just wanna love ya
[chorus]
We do it like this, like this...
Where all the ladies all alone in here
That wanna have fun tonight
[female]
Where all the fellas all alone in here
That can make my body feel right
Well ma, Im right here
[female]
Boy Im right here...
I cant lie, ya look tight...
Girl Ill come, what Im with...
Dont be scared...
[female]
We gonna do the thing tonight
[chorus]
[female]
Sometime I need somebody
Thatll touch my body
Come and touch my body, sexy (oooh)
Sometimes ya need somebody
Thatll touch your body
And that somebody should be me...
[chorus]
[female]
Ima do my thing, ima do my thing, ima do my thing, let me do my thing, daddy...
Go on do your thing, go on do your thing, go on do you thing, go on do your thing, momma...
[female]
Ima do my thing, ima do my thing, ima do my thing, let me do my thing, daddy...
Go on do your thing, go on do your thing, go on do you thing, go on do your thing, momma...

The thing I fail to do is fully comprehend what's given back to me by the audience. You would think you would be a performer partly so you could feel all the appreciation or adulation, but I haven't quite managed that yet.

It's like this - these five members have been influenced of course by other groups, because that's where this generation's groups came from - an environment like the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Yardbirds, and The Who. People like that.

Expect Your ………….You!
Expect your friend to be not better than you;
Expect your neighbor to not forgive you;
Expect your country not to goad you;
Expect your siblings to but discourage you;
Expect your children to not care for you;
Expect your spouse to rather hinder you;
Expect your love to always forget you;
Expect your home sometimes to ignore you;
Expect your native place to not honor you;
Expect the world to disregard you;
Expect your enemy to well hate you;
Expect your Maker to much love you;
Expect your God to never forsake you;
Expect your Lord and God to never abandon you.

If it's total freedom, I guess the ultimate thing you can go into is total silence between the audience and performer, with the performer projecting something he doesn't even have to play.

You just let your lower self go, and then it takes on all these aspects of the society - the city with horns blowing, the people yelling things at each other, and the all-in-all violence and chaos of the city. Put that on stage with music, and that's what this is.
