Living As God Favored

As I walk I feel the presence of God
No matter how uncertain I may feel at times, I know he is with me
When you have blessings coming from all places, that's the favor of God
Looking back, when I could have and should have lost my way, I had the favor of God

The Scripture says, the will of God will not take you,
Where the grace of God will not protect you and that's a fact
God is good and life is easy when you know you have the favor of God

See That My Grave Is Kept Clean

(first releaseblind lemon jefferson)
Well theres one kind of favor Ill ask for you
Well theres one kind of favor Ill ask for you
Theres just one kind of favor Ill ask for you
You can see that my grave is kept clean.
And theres two white horses following me
And theres two white horses following me
I got two white horses following me
Waiting on my burying ground.
Did you ever hear that coffin sound
Did you ever hear that coffin sound
Did you ever hear that coffin sound
Means another poor boy is underground.
Did you ever hear them church bells toll
Did you ever hear them church bells toll
Did you ever hear them church bells toll
Means another poor boy is dead and gone.
And my heart stopped beating and my hands turned cold
And my heart stopped beating and my hands turned cold
And my heart stopped beating and my hands turned cold
Now I believe what the Bible told.
Theres just one last favor Ill ask for you
And theres one last favor Ill ask for you
Theres just one last favor Ill ask for you
See that my grave is kept clean.

Repent And Produce Fruit

John had preached repent and produce fruit for The Kingdom is near,
And although Israel had ears to listen, their hearts could not hear.
In light of Isaiah's fulfillment, in Israel it was abundantly clear,
Most men were steeped in religious tradition without any Godly fear.

Although John called them to produce fruit it was not their desire,
So he warned all those who did not would be thrown into the fire.
John was preparing the way for The One, who was spiritually higher,
And Christ preached of an Eternal Kingdom and warned of Eternal Fire.

However many of God's chosen people were hard hearted and deceived,
And when Christ came fulfilling Scripture, He was not even received.
But there was a remnant using Scripture and prophecy was perceived,
Even the thief on the cross was filled with awe and He too believed.

Christ was the fulfillment of the Law which ended that dispensation,
And Grace came upon the world through the rejection of that nation.
The law exposes sin and brings upon the world God's condemnation,
But through the cross, Christ brought us God's Mercy and Salvation.

As Grace comes to a close The Church has become complacent many fear,
Are we becoming like Israel, as the Lord's return draws ever near?
Friend, Jesus was and now is God and not just a prophet, man or seer,
Shouldn't we heed His words as He said He who has ears, let him hear?

Avalanche

He was not or never had been in favor
of setting r people free
if it wasn't 4 the 13th Amendment
we woulda been born in slavery
He was not or never had been in favor
of letting us vote so u c...
Abraham Lincoln was a racist who said
"U cannot escape from history"
CHORUS
Like the snow comin' down the mountain
that landed on Wounded Knee
nobody wants 2 take the weight-
the responsibility
Hear the joyous sound of freedom
The Harlem Renaissance
Hear Duke Ellington and his band
kick another jungle jam
Ooh, do u wanna dance?
Who's that lurking in the shadows?
Mr. John Hammond with his pen in hand...
sayin' "Sign ur kingdom over 2 me
and b known throughout the land!"
But, u ain't got no money, U ain't got no cash,
So u sign yo name and he claims innocence
just like every snowflake in an avalanche...
CHORUS
Like the snow comin' down the mountain
that landed on Wounded Knee
nobody wants 2 take the weight-
the responsability

Honey, Just Allow Me One More Chance

Honey, just allow me one more chance
To get along with you.
Honey, just allow me one more chance,
Ahll do anything with you.
Well, Im a-walkin down the road
With my head in my hand,
Im lookin for a woman
Needs a worried man.
Just-a one kind favor I ask you,
low me just-a one more chance.
Honey, just allow me one more chance
To ride your aeroplane.
Honey, just allow me one more chance
To ride your passenger train.
Well, Ive been lookin all over
For a gal like you,
I cant find nobody
So youll have to do.
Just-a one kind favor I ask you,
low me just-a one more chance.
Honey, just allow me one more chance
To get along with you.
Honey, just allow me one more chance,
Ahll do anything with you.
Well, lookin for a woman
That aint got no man,
Is just lookin for a needle
That is lost in the sand.
Just-a one kind favor I ask you,
low me just-a one more chance.

Love is a slavery

Slavery is there, in some form, everywhere.
Love, too, is a kind of slavery, unable to desist,
Unable to deny, and is tamed in blind pursuit.
A monarch, too, is a slave to his concubine.

I Could Not Love You

There're a billion people in the world
All of them equal but of different worth
I find you to have a value equaled by no other
You are a rare and beautiful flower
But I'm sorry that I could not favor you
And make you the queen of my heart as I should
That instead I chose a different group
And I chose to favor them more than you

To favor a person means that you are two
And I'm sorry that I could not be with you
And a favored another one more fair
Although you are a true queens heir
And amongst a million kings and princesses
You always claimed that you were the fairest
And though your heart is the kindest I knew
I apologies that I could not favor you
And instead I chose to favor another
Not your equal, but not your better

I see a million faces each day but only acquaint with a few
You and I went different ways so I could not favor you
You and I once had our chance but I chose to let it go
You had no fault at all as I made the choice alone
And instead I chose to look for another
And I did favor them more than you
Although in my eyes you are a flower
I'm sorry that I could not be with you
And value you as a queen like I should
But just as I favored another more than you
Another favors you more than any other
And chose to be with you and no-other

Emotional Subjection

There is no tyrant quite like feeling.
A bondage that cannot be released.
All we do will forever succumb to it.
Your suffering means that you're human.

Your mind is a warfield.
And your heart is the opposition.
No solution can truly be found.
Forever at war with yourself.

You will obey.
You will cry for it.
You will fall to your knees for it.
You will be numbed by it.
You will be reminded of it.
It cannot be neglected much longer.

Slavery is freedom.
Slavery is freedom.
Slavery is freedom.
Slavery is freedom.
You will obey.

That Has Yet To Happen

Do me a favor.

'Sure.
I'm here for you.'

Don't do me anymore favors.
That's the favor I am requesting.
Everytime you have been here for me,
Why is it I have to remind you...
Of a favor you promised to do,
That has yet to happen?

'So what are you saying?
The excuses I used,
Were not good enough for you?
And I went out of my way,
To choose the best ones I could?

Well...
You don't have to worry about me,
Ever doing you a favor again.
People like you are not worth my time.
And are so ungrateful.'

I know.
It's difficult for me,
To not think of myself all the time.

'I'm glad you can see how selfish you can be.'

I'm reminded.

'Good.
It's not all about you,
You know.
I have a life to live too.'

I'm reminded.

The Southern Pulpit

The Southern pulpit, in our eyes,
Descends to make a compromise
With evil things in heaven's name;
The kind that brings a blush of shame.

The evils to the Negro shown,
His rights that Southern men disown,
We view with sorrow and distress,
Its lack of effort to suppress.

Prevailing thought it cannot cross,
If so, it feels financial loss;
The gold to it is dearer far,
Than all the rights of Negroes are.

It preached that slavery was right,
Upon the Scripture based its fight,
Why should we now expect a change
So radical? Such would be strange.

This pulpit fails to higher climb
Than sentiment at any time.
Such grades of preaching cannot live,
The truth alone can freedom give.

Scripture of the Zen

The universe is scripture of the Zen,
and while our inner feelings come and go,
its feelings form an archipelago
where on an island prison live most men.
The scripture, when it’s read, helps to release
the feelings which, confined, lead to confusion,
but once they’re understood help to increase
the sense that life is more than an illusion

The scripture of the universe does not
require any priests or temples, and
interpretation of its poetry and plot
is what Zen masters hope we’ll understand
at every moment of our lives. It changes
according to the moment and the season,
sometimes remote as Himalayan ranges,
sometimes approachable with rhyme and reason.

With this scripture we can reach the realm
where thoughts that are exposed are safely bared,
but not allowed by us to overwhelm
the universe that we have always shared
with all the living creatures and the plants
that God created long before the day
that He created Man, whose hierophants
believe that only they know how to pray.

The fact is, that civilization requires slaves. The Greeks were quite right there. Unless there are slaves to do the ugly, horrible, uninteresting work, culture, and contemplation become almost impossible. Human slavery is wrong, insecure, and demoralizing.
