Since, therefore, individuals as well as the public are so indebted to these writers for the benefits they enjoy, I think them not only entitled to the honour of palms and crowns, but even to be numbered among the gods.

What is difficult is the promotion, balancing the public side of a writer's life with the writing. I think that's something a lot of writers are having to face. Writers have become much more public now.

Four Main Types of Writers (personal opinion)
The Lonely Writer
Some writings tell me
This person is lonely
And is reaching out
For the touch of a friendly comment
These writers are sad, solitary,
Isolated, but good persons
And quite often very good writers
The needy juvenile writer
Some writings contain words
Or language meant to shock
And to offend.
These writers are lonely also
But in a different way.
These writers are simply saying
Like a little child
“hey! I exist! Someone better
Acknowledge me! ”
These writers can often write well
But usually don’t, can’t, or choose not to
The Spite Writer
This writer can be of either gender
But seems to be in a female majority
They’ve been spurned or rejected
Two-timed or lied to.
And they are going to vent their ire
In the most public way they can.
These writers can also be very good writers
But too often let their anger get in the way.
The Religious Writer
These writers show people passionate
And zealously devoted to singing the praises
Of the Lord and goodness and charity.
They’re probably austere, honest people
Who almost always write very well.
For the most part these writers seem
To want to spread the word and
At the same time tend to be rather singular
In the subject matter of their writings,
Rarely attempting other genres.

Is The Battle Worth Fighting?
some individuals fight battles
with other individuals needlessly
some individuals are never long
content with getting their own way
some individuals fight ferociously
to dominate all those around about
some individuals who cannot safe vent dominate
their own desires seek to next dominate all others
some individuals who cannot control own emotions
seek to control all within range sphere of influence

We all – adults and children, writers and readers – have an obligation to daydream. We have an obligation to imagine. It is easy to pretend that nobody can change anything, that we are in a world in which society is huge and the individual is less than nothing: an atom in a wall, a grain of rice in a rice field. But the truth is, individuals change their world over and over, individuals make the future, and they do it by imagining that things can be different.

We all know nations that can be identified by the flight of writers from their shores. These are regimes whose fear of unmonitored writing is justified because truth is trouble. It is trouble for the warmonger, the torturer, the corporate thief, the political hack, the corrupt justice system, and for a comatose public. Unpersecuted, unjailed, unharrassed writers are trouble for the ignorant bully, the sly racist, and the predators feeding off the world’s resources. The alarm, the disquiet, writers raise is instructive because it is open and vulnerable, because if unpoliced it is threatening. Therefore the historical suppression of writers is the earliest harbinger of the steady peeling away of additional rights and liberties that will follow.

Looking Ahead
I’ve been waiting
to speak with you.
To discuss our future,
and what we’ll do.
Will we be individuals
with freedom of choice,
or will we be together
with an identical voice?
Can you see a future
where we think as one,
or are our days numbered
and soon to be done?

Life is free
Life is free
Life is with the bird with the tree.
Enjoy the life
Life is cold and heat
Enjoy the life
Life is Joy and sorrow
Enjoy the life
There is honour and ignominy.
Life is free
Enjoy the life
Consider the earth
The stone and the gold
All alike.
Life is life
Nothing substitute life
Enjoy the life.

There is so much work to be done to treat gays and lesbians and gay and lesbian couples with the respect that they're entitled to. They deserve, in my judgment, partnership benefits. They deserve to be treated fairly when it comes to adoption and immigration.

Numbered Days
Daisy
I never thought Id go
Crazy
But I never thought you so
Until now that I see
All the crazy things youre doing
Why you wanna ruin it
And me?
Counting numbered days
Lately
I think you know its true
Thats it
Its all over, Im through
For a while we can smile
For the people that were passing
And even if theyre asking
We can lie
Counting numbered days
Looks like the sun is gonna set
Know that theres nothing I regret
All the things that I learned
Well, Id like to think I earned it
No need to go and burn it down now
Counting numbered days
Counting numbered days

Caricatures
There are writers great and writers small
And writers on the spree;
And writers short and writers tall,
And bards of low degree.
There are artists small and artist great,
With lines both bold and free –
It takes a Low to illustrate
Us bards of low degree.

Does God Hold Your Country In Honour?
God does not honour countries?
God does not honour nations?
God honours integrity of nations.
God honours men women of integrity.
When the integrity of a nation fails.
The nation in question fails to retain...
the patronage support good will of God.
When you ban God from all schools
all public buildings all public office do
you believe you retain God's good will?
