It's the only sport that's played in every country in the world. It's played and watched all over the world, it's the most popular sport in probably 90% of the countries, and then with the World Cup, you have the most viewed tournament of any sport in the world.

A piece of white flannel about cricket

Sport is popular. Fine.

Sport attracts sponsorship. Fine.

Sport becomes showbusiness. mmm.

'Pietersen embraced Collingwood on his century
like a footballer'..

I say, old chap, that's just...not cricket...

The Sport I Love

Like any other sports
this is the one I choose,
I love, and I have been playing.
the sport I want to be belong.
That is soccer.! ! !

Playing this game
have been giving me an event
that is hard to forget.
It is exciting right! ! !

And therefore
I do not know how
could I leave this sport.

Of which is this sport
help me to build my stamina,
meet a lot of friends, and
also this sport taught me
how to act as a human being,

in order to have a discipline
not only in this sport
but also in the community
as well as in a situation.

It help a lot in me right! ? ,
therefore i must not have to forget
as well as to leave this sport
but to love this sport forever..

I love soccer.! .

The White Globe

Bring me a world-map,
I'll rub out the boundary-line
between each two countries -
And see: there is one world, one country!

A world where each one of us
Will be a universal citizen,
A world where none will say-
This is mine, that is yours.

A world where 'I' will be replaced by 'we',
No more I, you or he but only us,
A world where No one will be under anyone,
And all will call one another brother.

A world where there'll be but one religion,
And that is of 'Humanity'
A world where there'll be but one sect,
And that is of 'Humans'.

Bring me a world-map,
I'll rub out the boundary-line
between each two countries -
And see: there is one world, one country!

Boxing or Football?

What's your favourite sport Kevin?
as you like Boxing and Football
well they're both exciting to me
so that's a hard one to call.
Boxing is a very tough sport
a mixture of brawn and skill
two boxers standing toe to toe
both with the power to kill.
Football is full of passion
the worlds greatest team game
no other comes anywhere near
Cricket is slow boring and tame.
Boxing is not for the faint hearted
you have to be tough and very fit
take punches to the head and body
and bob and weave and avoid getting hit.
Football is played the world over
on the streets and over the park
children kick a ball for hours
in the rain and in the dark.
So if I have to make a choice
Football has to be the sport for me
you get great goals and action
and a packed ground is the place to be.
But Boxing comes a close second
Ali, Tyson, Rocky Marciano, were the best,
beating opponents with skill and guts
but so much better than all the rest.

This question was recently put to me and was hard to answer.

Sicker Soccer

The £10,000 a week defender can’t quite
catch the £20,000 striker who's got
the ball at his nimble, expensive feet, the stadium yelling
fit to raise the roof – what does he do? why,
he pulls the striker’s shirt, of course…; the ref, the commentators
remain silent. We, we were told off at nursery classes,
for pulling little Johnny’s shirt… I mean, for Pele’s sake,
what is this about? ! ..

then at the end of the game (one side’s got to win,
you’d think the fans are like they used to be,
paid good money to watch a good match)
the managers spit out their gum, pat each other on the back
whilst walking away, and not looking each other in the eye…
none of that love of the game stuff, the sparkling eyes
of those who love their sport, shaking hands
with a worthy opponent…ha…

and as for cricket – ‘sledging’ – can you believe it?
making sneery remarks to the batsmen while you stand in close…
never happened when sport was something you
enjoyed, loved to do, enjoyed the challenge and the company…
‘oh it’s all in good fun’… yeah?

tennis, being one-on-one, ain’t so bad; psych yourself up
but put the venom in your shots; but then,
when the match ends, run up to the net (or so they
used to) , eyes meet, shake hands, a few words? not
so often – shake hands without making
eye-contact, off to thank the umpire who's
up there out of reach…

it’s like some sorta natural law: when sport is a game
like life, the game’s the thing, and well-played, sir; pay
your ‘sportsmen’, your mercenaries, in the name
of ‘popular entertainment’ and big business, and
something disappears, as revenues increase;
how long before poetry becomes
a ‘spectator sport’ with a World Slam League out there
and TV rights?

Pop Goes The World

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls,
Pop goes the world, by men without hats
Johnny played guitar, jenny played bass.
Name of the band is the human race.
Everybody tell me have you heard? pop goes the world.
Jenny played keyboard, johnny played drums,
Called little baby and a big bonhomme
Everybody tell me have you heard? pop goes the world.
It goes something like this: (p p p pop)
Johnny and jenny had a crazy dream,
See their pictures in a magazine.
Every little boy needs a girl.
Pop goes the world.
Jenny and johnny getting smart (it seems)
Made more money on a movie screen.
Every little nest needs a bird.
Pop goes the world.
One two three and four is five,
Everybody here is a friend of mine.
Whatever happened to the duke of earl?
Pop goes the world.
Six seven eight and nine is ten,
Send al gunn to see the doctor (ben)
Say what planet are we on? the third!
Pop goes the world.
And every time I wonder where the world went wrong,
End up lying on my face going ringy dingy ding dong
And every time I wonder if the world is right,
End up in some disco dancin all night & day.
Johnny played guitar, jenny played bass,
Name of the band is the human race.
Everybody tell me have you heard? pop goes the world.
Johnny played guitar, jenny played bass,
Aint nobody couldnt take their place.
Everybody tell me have you heard? pop goes the world.....

A poem for Football lovers

Football can make you cry
it can also bring you joy
I've played and watched it
as a man and a small boy.
Football has great players
like the one and only Messi
the Argentinian is a genius
I wished he played for Coventry.
Football is the favourite sport
no other game comes anywhere near
in the U.K.it's the number one pastime
just beating fishing and drinking beer.
Football though can be an addiction
it can be on your mind all of the day
your thinking about goals, shots, and saves,
and even talking about it to God when you pray.
So long may Football be played on our planet
even though it has trouble along the way
but just think if there was no Football at all
us fans would have nothing to do on a Saturday!

From A 3rd World Country

I lived in a 3rd world country
but that does not mean
i've got nothing to say
Coz we also grow in our own way

Third world countries
may be poor economically
but we excel in different abilities
plus we are also rich naturally

First world countries
may be hi in technolohies
but 3rd world countries
have hardworking employess

We even excel in different fileds
either in medical, singting or sports
as our nurses, singers or boxers
are demanding in all places

Though I didn't live in a 1st world
but I'm proud to be in a 3rd world
bec. it is the only place
where i feel a belongingness

Yes sir

Yes sir, great honor at stake.
It is fight to finish but not fake
Garlands, praises and controversy to rake
Then also pride and honor for country sake

Only sport to keep sentiments high
Well deserved victory to try
Do or die approach but nothing to feel shy
It is game and not gambles so not to ask why?

Let the sport be taken in sporting way
It can unite country with different say
Blessings for those who keep away
From all dirty tricks and no attention to pay

How many rise from their troubled sleep?
Always awake to witness and keep
The national sentiments to keep on top
It is the only way to keep tempo high and not to stop

It may be only option to keep world together
Let the burning issues not to worry or bother
Let us keep the destiny open for time to come
Enjoy it with enthusiasm and arms wide open to welcome

Sport

The merry waves dance up and down, and play,
Sport is granted to the sea;
Birds are the choristers of the empty air,
Sport is never wanting there.
The ground doth smile at the spring's flowery birth,
Sport is granted to the earth;
The fire its cheering flame on high doth rear,
Sport is never wanting there,
If all the elements, the earth, the sea,
Air, and fire, so merry be,
Why is man's mirth so seldom and so small,
Who is compounded of them all?

Fading Into Space

Fading into space is this wheel of heat,
Turning into a ball the wheel is rolling to compete;
This sport carries no winning or defeat, the whole
Unique work will endanger the sport of a hellhole.
The sport is fine once mastered, by the astronauts,
By the captains and generals with afterthoughts.
Anybody with dreams contained in their mind
Becomes in real jeopardy of staying behind.

Babel

A babel grabbed by understanding
Concentrates us in wrong, the full worm;
One amazement convenes to astound
As they occur, we consider the old regime.
A stagnant body of thought reconvenes
Trying, and bereavement is an old book.
The lactation strongly grows on you,
This is materialism in the world
When the spirit curves into your own.
A strong tennis is played by the cricketers,
One sport can rule the other a whim.

2010 World Cup

2010 World Cup,
Two brothers played against each other for different countries!

And Germany won the match by 1-0.
