Literature adds to reality, it does not simply describe it. It enriches the necessary competencies that daily life requires and provides; and in this respect, it irrigates the deserts that our lives have already become.

Respect Sows Peace
Do not restrict respect
to age because someone is old
show real respect to all
but respect most
heart motivation

of that respect.
Respect is given
respect is earned
respect enriches
respect ennobles
graces civilization
elevates humanity
sows seeds of peace.

Culmination of Visions
Romanticism dreamt is disenchantment
and death, a problem countered by realism,
left-brain thinking enriches us immensely,
combined with right-brain intuition we are
moreso free than ancient people as we
access their wisdom
Story, ideal and dream enriches life,
improves relationships, imbues reality
with symbols, deeper meaning, every
escapist fantasy thickens reality into
a multidimensional tapestry; this is
why you are my friend, though cynical
you never scare me
Offering understanding never thought
possible, fantasy pales in comparison
yet enabled me to accept a fairytale in
my life: you created a safe channel by
which I can relate to the most admired
author and poet I know; the most gifted
realistic person brought about
a culmination of visions, Danke
(The discovery that reality is better than dreams
made me very happy. The realisation that dreams,
ideals and fantasies are helpful by enabling me to
SEE the positive aspects of reality, contributes
to this happiness.)

Literature I Loved
LITERATURE I LOVED
Literature I loved-
Reading gave new lives and new worlds-
Experience enriched beyond
What I could have ever have imagined alone-
The pleasure and joy of it
The discovery the adventure-
Literature I loved
And Life greater because of it.

Everything is connected
Asked to describe life
I said: ' the peaceful moments
with the friends you meet.'
Asked to describe friends
I said: ' the people you love
and care for daily.'
Asked to describe love
I said: ' feelings of goodwill
you have until death.'
Asked to describe death
I said: ' The equaliser
joy becomes nothing.'
Asked to describe joy
I said: ' opposite of sad
the happy feelings.'
Asked to describe sad
I said: ' opposite of joy
feelings of great loss.'
Asked to describe loss
I said: ' it occurs in life
regardless of us.'
Asked to describe life
I said: ' the peaceful moments
with the friends you meet.'
Everything is connected.

Love Is A Constant Factor
Love is a constant factor
in our daily lives
by the amount times
we use the word each day.
We use it to describe
what we like to eat,
what we like to drink.
We use it to express
how we feel towards one another.
Love the word is all around us;
it is a constant factor
of our daily lives.

Respect To It
Respect to it has more than a one sided way
Do not expect the respect of others if respect to them you don't pay
You treat other people as you'd like them to treat you
And in turn they will give you the respect you are due
You may be the wealthiest and most powerful person in your town
And you feel that you have the right for to put others down
And others respect you or so to you it does appear
But between feigned and true respect the difference is quite clear
Despotic leaders believe the masses them do revere
But this sort of feigned adulation is adulation through fear
To protest in such circumstance they'd be risking their own lives
And the lives of their children as well as their wives
If you do not respect then respect do not expect to receive
Just a known fact of life that one ought to believe.

That Dreadful Thing Upon Which Truth Depends
Those 'F' and 'N' words offend.
So do the 'B's and 'C's.
And the more explicit the 'M' with 'F' is used...
By children freely using them together,
In schools or 'wherever'...
To describe their teachers.
Or anyone regarded as fool seeking them to learn.
Lives are taking a ride on the downside quick.
And the boys who use the 'B's literally to breed,
Treat their actions as if a sporting event.
With a wishing they succeed.
And do.
To proclaim the fathering of a dropping of seed.
As if to score points on fields of play.
Hypocrisy reigns supreme all over the place...
To admonish a lack of accountability.
But responsible leadership...
Requires a respect and discipline to be imposed.
And neither one of those are approached as if...
All that is hoped for and wished depends on it.
Because...
Too many are concerned with being politically correct.
And more are willing to censor a maturity that accepts!
And yet...
It is with immaturity delusions are kept.
To strengthen dumbed down minds in the belief...
They are entitled to remain fantasized as if at a feast.
And isolated to ignore its existence,
Is an honest approach to an accepting of reality.
Yep!
That dreadful thing upon which truth depends.

The longing in the depth of the heart for absolute good, and the power, though only latent, of directing attention and love to a reality beyond the world and of receiving good from it — constitutes a link which attaches every man without exception to that other reality. Whoever recognizes that reality recognizes also that link. Because of it, he holds every human being without any exception as something sacred to which he is bound to show respect. This is the only possible motive for universal respect towards all human beings. Whatever formulation of belief or disbelief a man may choose to make, if his heart inclines him to feel this respect, then he in fact also recognizes a reality other than this world's reality. Whoever in fact does not feel this respect is alien to that other reality also.

Centerstage
Embellishments were the rage and was craved,
By them.
Their lives depended on their use.
Especially in recreating moments of reality.
And where they were when events took place.
And who did what as they relished being there!
While entertaining the lack of facts,
Dances upon their exaggerating faces.
They would never call what they do lieing!
Or misrepresenting the truth.
No! Not these troupers.
Remnants of reality,
Mixed with sweetened tweaks to flourish...
Is the best way to describe their 'romanticized' lives.
With their actual participation left undebated!
Since anyone listening would not know what to believe!
And those getting the attention,
Loved being centerstage!
This was a behavior encouraged...
By those seeking to be amused!
Why pay for the 'bow' when it can be had for free?

How Do I Love You?
How do I love you?
Let me be specific;
I love you because,
You simply are terrific
Love your;
Beauty and grace
The way a smile appears
Upon your pretty face
Love you;
For your common sense
That always finds the truth
And requires no defense
Love you;
For a thousand reasons more
To numerous to describe…

It's What You Are To Me
A heartfelt word
A sad goodbye
To hear you laugh
To see you cry
It all adds up
Its what you are to me
A hold of hands
A kiss to cheek
Still makes my heart
Skip that beat
It all adds up
Its what you are to me
Without you
I'd be lost
But my mind doesn't reach that far
You're my one for life
You're my guiding star
It all adds up
It's what you are to me
It's what you are to me
To memorise your sentences
To capture every word
To have every smile you've ever given me in my heart
I couldn't bare to be apart
It all adds up
It's what you are to me

Oh The Poems
OH THE POEMS AND THE POEMS AND THE POEMS
Oh the poems and the poems and the poems
Oh the love of Literature
Oh all that stuff
I have given my life to-
Words and meanings and feelings
Pages and pages and pages –
What it is all this literary life for?
When out the window out the door
With our eyes we see in an instant other worlds other dreams?
I don’t know and I will never know
And Literature is certainly far more than I can say it is-
Oh the poems and this poem and this day turning grey
And all my life old and old and more old and more old-
Oh why oh why oh why
And always back to God
My last rescue and refuge and escape
I who have read so much Great Literature
And can only write this-
Oh the why and the oh oh oh and the words
And the whole world of Literature
I would belong to and do not.
Oh the words oh the world oh the Literature
Oh God help me please can’t you please help me a little or not?

No Respect
Respect,
Always everybody looking for some
Respect,
Who do you think youre gonna get it from
Respect,
Anybody here deserving of none
Respect,
Tell me what makes you think
Youre not the one
No respect, no respect none
No respect, no respect none
No respect, no respect none
No respect, no respect none
Respect,
Why be concerned with
Public adulation
Respect,
Pat on the back crying
For attention
Respect,
Finding out what it really
Means to me
Respect,
Honor comes only after
Humility

My Struggle is to be a Man
My struggle is to be a man
In every respect.
A man is not simply
The owner of a rod,
Even if that is a criterion;
Women adore that rod
And use it against themselves
In sadistically pleasing pain;
They moan yet are happy,
They cry yet insist on more -
A woman will always love a man.
My struggle is to be a man
In every respect.
A man is not simply
A successful worker,
Even if that is an ambition;
Some men are slaves
And earn a keep washing pants on Sundays
In shameless smugness;
They swot yet are content,
They are degraded yet bear it well -
A slave will always love the base.
My struggle is to be a man
In every respect.
A man is not simply
A humble worshipper,
Even if that is a necessity;
Every soul must have its god
And pray ceaselessly to him
In faithful submission;
They suffer yet are hopeful,
They doubt yet believe -
A man is deeply spiritual.
My struggle is to be a man
In every respect.
A man is not simply
A proud lord,
Even if that is an attraction;
Many men have to endure hardship
And oppression of every sort
In quiet longsuffering;
They are harried yet are not overcome,
They are tortured yet unruffled -
A man is resolutely resilient.
