My inner critic who had begun piping up about how hopeless I was and how I didn't know to write.

Just Broken

What was the last song you whispered to my ear?
Did it like first snow, breeze of wind, falling leaves
or something like that?
Did I listen to you in silence
or did you hold my hand to calm?
I was blind, more blind than blind people
I just didn't see anything but darkness
I was hopeless, more hopeless than hopeless people
I didn't mad, I didn't sad
I didn't blame this hatred to you
It's just my grieve
Just my tears, just my loneliness
It's just you aren't here anymore
And I'm just
Empty

Imposter

You never lived in the streets though you wish you had
Not enough talent to play a guitar
You failed as an artist cause you lacked in the confidence
Now youre a critic and youre at the top
(the top of what)
You dont believe what you write
Youre and imposter you dont, dont, dont believe what you write
You cant get used to the fact that you aint a kid
You like to think that you speak for them all
Youd cut off your nose if you thought it would make you hip
It drives you crazy you cant be a star (oh aint that tough)
You dont believe what you write
(youre an imposter) you dont believe what you write
(youre an imposter) you dont believe what you write
(youre an imposter) you dont, dont, dont believe what you write
You take the credit while others do all the work
You like to think you discovered them first
But we all know you moved in after it was safe
That way you know you could never get hurt
(you like to play god!!)
(repeat chorus)
Youre just a critic, we know why you drink so much
Jealousy slowly consuming your gut
The streets that you never knew are just where theyve always been
Your head is firmly lodged way up your butt (where it belongs)
(repeat chorus)

Faint Of Heart

I wish you could have read
The Letters that I didn’t write

Would’ve liked for you to have heard
Words I didn’t say

I wish you could have felt the touch
Of hands that didn’t reach out at night

Would’ve liked to know
What you didn’t feel…

When you didn’t hear the words…
Words I didn’t say…words I couldn’t write

A Cursed Gift

I wish I didn't know how to write,
Or how to use a pen.
I wish this skill was forbidden,
The greatest of all sin.

I wish I didn't know how to think,
Or how to use my mind.
If they took it all away,
These words I would not find.

I wish I didn't know how to love,
Or even how to break.
Both of these leave me in fear,
In which I write as I shake.

So take this all away,
Leave me empty in my heart.
I do not want to write again,
It's tearing me apart.

Did Anyone Approach You

You never look up
You never look back
You never say anything based on fact
Youve got issues going way back
You never say hi
You never say much
You never make an effort to stay in touch
Ive got this feeling something happened here
Something happened here
Did anybody feel you?
Did anybody deal you?
Did anybody make you do some things now?
Did anyone approach you?
Did anybody coach you?
Did anybody tell you what to say now?
Hopeless - its not hopeless
Doubtful - but not hopeless at all
You never looked up
You never look back
You never did anything in between
Are things black and white with you
You never believed
You never belonged
Never made milestones to call your own
Ive got this feeling something happened here
Something happened here
Did anybody hide you?
Did anybody fight you?
Did anyone decide to do some harm now?
Did anybody read you?
Did anybody bleed you?
Did anybody feed you lots of junk now?
Hopeless - its not hopeless
Doubtful - but not hopeless
Hopeless - its not hopeless
Doubtful - but not hopeless at all
Hopeless - its not hopeless
Doubtful - but not hopeless at all
Something happened here
Something happened here

The Wicket Cricket Critic

If the cricket critics' nagging
Merits stern official gagging
Which I doubt
How would critical ascetics,
With their prosy homiletics,
Shut it out?
And the question then arises:
If more cricketing surprises,
Such as bodyline, begin to threaten cricket,
And another stunt, when sprung,
Call for clicking of the tongue,
Should a cricket critic critically click it?

When the barrackers grow lyric
In a manner most satiric
And profane,
How, one ventures still to wonder,
May the clamor be kept under?
How restrain?
For one barbaric larrik-
In can do a lot of barrack-
In', and cause a lot of worry at the wicket.
But would sportsmen be abusing
Cricket canons in refusing
To supply that cricket critic with a ticket?

As a critic analytic
Of the cricket critics' critic
I would say,
When we criticise their cricket,
Then the players have to stick it,
Come what may.
No specific soporific
May be used; for it is diffic-
Ult to strike a critic partly paralytic.
So there's nothing gained in seeking,
As I know; and I am speaking
As a critic of the cricket critic's critic.

Over The Sea

Id write you a letter,
But who knows where it would go?
Something sad and hopeless
Tells me what I know.
And if I left you by yourself,
Who knows what you would do?
Something tall and mindless
Lets you walk right through.
Call you over the sea.
When will you come,
Come back to me?
Coming back for one more week
Of what I have to do.
Neverending changes.
Everything is new.
Id write you a letter,
But who knows where it would go?
Something sad and hopeless
Tells me what I know.
Call you over the sea.
When will you come,
Come back to me?

Who Can Write A Poem

WHO CAN WRITE A POEM

Who can write a poem
In the early morning
Before there is light?

Who can write a poem
Before the day has begun

A Poem is light
And night is not enough for it.

But where is the light
When the day has not yet
Begun?

To A Bullfinch

Oh bullfinch bird unfettered wild and free
Piping on branch of leafy alder tree
Lit by the bright and warming sun of May
You do seem happy on this pleasant day

Were I a poet I'd write for you a lay
A lyric that might last till amen day
A poem a poet would feel quite proud to write
And school goer would feel happy to recite

Were I an artist your picture I would draw
A masterpiece that art critic dare find flaw
A painting far too splendid to ignore
That well might last five hundred years or more.

But I'm no artist nor neither am I poet
Since doggerel is all I've ever wrote
And what I'd give to desribe you in words
One of the fairest of all wildborn birds.

You've got strong beak designed for cracking seeds
That you find on hedgerows bordering green meads
And you wear the colours favoured most by kings
Dark head, pink breast and beautiful blue wings.

The lark, the thrush and blackbird sing more sweet
As a singing bird with them you can't compete
But beauty wise you do look number one
When lit by rays of brightly glowing sun.

Gina (Limerick)

There once was a sheila named Gina
she would chase from this site a hyena.
So she grabs their small balls
hurls them over the falls
then comes back as a ballerina.

She is good, also fair as a critic
and she hates matters hippocritic
since she likes what I write
and gives others a fright
I would call her brain analytic.

Long ago when I lived in Badena
I was married to Wilhelmina.
But the marriage went bust
no, it didn't lack lust
it is just that I was a Berliner.

Id Rather Be Strong

(myles goodwyn)
Published by slalom publishing co. - bmi
Its a sad situation
Alot of hopeless information
On the news
Nothins gonna please you
And nothins gonna change
Well thats your view
So many hungry people
Its a shame and is it legal?
Well its a sight
Theres something goin on
Somethin we can change
And its our right
So Id rather be strong
In a hopeless situation, yes
I would rather be strong
In a hopeless situation, yes
I would rather be strong
In a hopeless situation
Yes I would, yes I would
Well you can say its a shame
And things remain the same
And so it goes
But no ones gonna hear you
And no ones gonna see
What doesnt show
Itd be cause for celebration
If only every nation understood
And helping one another
And doing for the other, what they could
And Id rather be strong
In a hopeless situation, yes
I would rather be strong
And to show determination, yes
I would rather be strong
In a hopeless situation
Yes I would, yes I would
Id be a lot better off if I could
Be part of the love
Thats seemingly lost from above
A delicate situation (situation)
Requires contemplation, everyone (everyone)
And someone has to care (someone to care)
When people live in fear of each mans son (each mans son)
So Id rather be strong
In a hopeless situation
Yes, I would rather be strong
In a hopeless situation
Yes, I would rather be strong
In a hopeless situation
Yes, I would, yes, I would
Id be a lot better off if I could
Be part of the love
Thats seemingly lost from above
Id rather be strong, ooh yes, I would
Well, Id rather be strong, yes I would, yes I would, yes I would
Well, Id rather be strong, ooh yes I would
Well, Id rather be strong, be strong, yes I would, yes I would
Well, Id rather be strong, yes I would
Well Id rather be strong, be strong, yes I would
In a hopeless situation
Yes, I would rather be strong
In a hopeless situation, yes
I would rather be strong
In a hopeless situation
Yes, I would rather be strong
In a hopeless situation, yes
I would rather be strong

I've Just Begun

Hey miss select the story that I made up so lets make believe
Four years ago I had a party that was to much fun for me
There was this sexy guy he said he'd give me everything I need
Sometimes I let temptation go too far and get the best of me
All I gotta say is
I just wanna have some fun, and I'll do it until I'm done
I'm telling you
I'm just some crazy kind of girl I'll tell it to the world
I've just begun having my fun yeah
Inside me there's something I found
I wanna shop around
I've just begun don't wanna settle down
The conversation wasn't going no where till I let down my hair
He started touching me kissing me like he didn't care
I thought at first I should go home, but then I'll sleep in the chair
All I gotta say is
I just wanna have some fun, and I'll do it until I'm done
I'm telling you
Chorus 2x
I'm just some crazy kind of girl I'll tell it to the world
I've just begun having my fun yeah
Inside me there's something I found
I wanna shop around
I've just begun don't wanna settle down
I just wanna have a good time
I just wanna be myself
and don't let nobody tell you it's any different babe
I wanna enjoy the sun shine
and do the things that I need to see what feels good to me
I'm just so crazy
I'm just some crazy kind of girl I'll tell it to the world
I've just begun having my fun yeah
Inside me there's something I found
I wanna shop around
I've just begun don't wanna settle down
I've just begun
I've just begun having my fun yeah
I've just begun
I've just begun having my fun yeah

The Poet Fears Failure

The poet fears failure
& so she says
"Hold on pen--
what if the critics
hate me?"
& with that question
she blots out more lines
than any critic could.

The critic is only doing his job:
keeping the poet lonely.
He barks
like a dog at the door
when the master comes home.

It's in his doggy nature.
If he didn't know the poet
for the boss,
he wouldn't bark so loud.

& the poet?
It's in her nature
to fear failure
but not to let that fear
blot out

her lines.

Letters I Didn't Write

I wish you could have read…
The Letters
that I failed to write

I wish you could have felt the touch…
Of hands that failed to
reach out at night

Would’ve liked for you
to have heard…
Words I couldn’t say

Would’ve liked to have felt
The emotions missed…
When I failed to ask you to stay

What you didn’t feel…
When you didn’t hear …
The words I didn’t say

I wish you could have
At least…Felt the love
That you didn’t feel that day

I wish you could’ve known …
The feelings
that I didn’t show

The words I couldn’t bring to light
And tell you
Long ago

I wish somehow,
you could know now
Of things you knew not then

Of words I didn’t say or write
Of touch, or love
Of things... that might have been
