I came across awful characters when I got some kind of status and came to Hollywood. Then you have directors trying to sleep with you, assuming that you will do things because of the way you dress.

Hollywood Swinging
Ahh now party people!
Now party people getting down!
Now you've got to put your hands together!
Just
Get on down and get on down and
Get on down!!
Alright!
Hey Hey Hey!
Come on now! Gotta sing it now...
What you got to say?
Oh, what you got to say now?
Hey Hey Hey!
Come On Now! Gotta sing it now...
What you got to say?
Oh what you got to say now?

We got that, we got that, we got that
Hollywood Swingin'

Hollywood Swingin'!
Oh! Now I got that swingin' Aheheh!
I remember
Not too long ago
I went to the theatre
And I saw the Kool & The Gang show
I always wanted (oh yes I did)
To fit into a band
I got to, I got to:
Sing my songs, sing my songs, sing my songs
And become a big piano playing man
So here I am, here I am, here I am...
Oh, in this Hollywood city
Yeah.. City of stars, movies, women and cars
Well I guess.. I guess I have to stay! Alright!
Hey Hey Hey! (Come On Sing It!)
What you got to say? What you got to say now yeah?
Hey Hey Hey! (Sing It Now!)
What you got to say? What you got to say now yeah?
Hollywood! (Hollywood Yeah)
Hollywood Swingin'!
Yo swing it like that!
Hollywood! (Hollywood now)
The Hollywood swingin'!
Oh.. Hollywood Hollywood Hollywood Hollywood now!
Hollywood Swingin' Oh a hey yeah!
Hollywood Hollywood Hollywood!
Now Hollywood Hollywood
Now they're all swinging in Hollywood!
Hollywood Swingin'
Hollywood, Hollywood, Hollywood now Hollywood! [x lots

The Status Of Death
In a sleep you don't know if you sleep.
You don't know if the world exists for you.
You're ignorant of your past and the present.
The status of death is the status of sleep.

Essentially and most simply put, plot is what the characters do to deal with the situation they are in. It is a logical sequence of events that grow from an initial incident that alters the status quo of the characters.

Hollywood Liar
Liar, liar, liar, hollywood liar,
Who are you, to crash my party, with your mediocre blues,
Your powder has no power over me,
Dont talk to my friends, the way you talk to the girls from the valley,
Youre just another liar to me,
Hollywood liar,
Hollywood liar,
Hollywood liar,
Hollywood liar,
I can see right through your act, the way you lie to yourself,
About deals you know dont even exist,
Dropping all those names the way you think the game should be played,
Youre just another liar to me,
Hollywood liar,
Hollywood liar,
Hollywood liar,
Hollywood liar,
(say) too mon to mon toul le jomey le very tey,
Too par too par, cullear, reason,
Unfortunately youre my neighbour,
But certainly not for long,
Huh, Im the writer of this,
Im the printer of that,
What you gonna do next?
How you gonna top that?
Distributor of this,
Editor of that,
What you gonna do next?
How you gonna top that?
How you gonna top that?
How you gonna top that?
(? )
Hollywood liar,
Hollywood liar,
Hollywood liar,
Hollywood,
Hollywood,
Hollywood,
Hollywood liar,
Kiss me?
(? )
Hollywood liar,
Hollywood liar,
I dont buy it baby!
You just get out of my party!

Hollywood movies are run on fear and they don't want to make bold choices. They, generally, speaking want to keep things status quo. That's not really interesting for me.

Thunder In The Movies
Hollywood has lost the creative plot
mere remnant left of magical golden era
Hollywood sellout ideal is boom bang bang
little remains of famed flickering silver screen
Bollywood is usurper true heir to former status
perhaps tropical thunderous rain is tribute paid
Bollywood movies instill valid themes awe inspiring
original awesome recipe defining famed Hollywood era

I'm not one of these directors, so far, that wants to have a whole separate director's cut of these things. So far they've turned out to be kind of the length that they wanted to be.
Have You Ever Done That Before?
Your 'things' do not make you a better human being.
You may believe they establish you a status.
But there is something that can be said about pretense...
That leaves those hungering to spend their time,
With people who express a common sense...
From thought producing minds.
It is a rarity to find folks,
Who have not been tainted or provoked...
By teased materialistic dreams.
Or the kind of people who become identified...
By where they live and what they drive.
Living a quality of life that seems delightfully contrived.
Yet inside of them there is a frightful hollowness...
That is silently screamed,
And quietly demeaning them.
Your 'things' do not make you a better human being.
And their absence,
Also has not revealed you possess an integrity.
With your identity gone packed away with your 'things'...
And no integrity left you can display or bring,
What is it that you claim you can give to offer?
Superficiality?
Okay...
And,
What else do you have besides that?
Do you have anything we can chew on that's concrete?
How about a conversation we all can contribute.
Have you ever done that before?
Had you considered comprehending after listening,
To complete sentences...
Delivered to your assuming ears.

Hollywood

The bright lights of the city
Are starting to wear me down
And when I need you
You just cant be found
Loud days, endless nights
Are starting to make me crazy
And now youre gone
Theres nothing left for me
(hollywood)
I dont care for sunny weather
(aint that good)
I like the change of seasons better
(knock on wood)
I love the feel of rain upon my face
(for hollywood)
(hollywood)
No and I dont care if the snow comes down
(aint that good)
Kick the falling leaves around
(knock on wood)
Got to move to some other kind of town
(for hollywood)
Wonderful to know you
Great to know you cared
As I look back
At the crazy things weve shared
I was dazzled by the moonlight
Blinded by neon nights
And as I look back
It never could be right
(hollywood)
I dont care for sunny weather
(aint that good)
I like the change of seasons better
(knock on wood)
I love the feel of rain upon my face
(for hollywood)
(hollywood)
No and I dont care if the snow comes down
(aint that good)
Kick the falling leaves around
(knock on wood)
Got to move to some other kind of town
(for hollywood)
Well I was dazzled by the moonlight
Blinded by neon nights
And now I see
It never could be right

What you have now is a Hollywood that is pure poison. Hollywood was a central place in the history of art in the 20th century: it was human idealism preserved. And then, like any great place, it collapsed, and it collapsed into the most awful machinery in the world.

Hollywood Ending
Did you want it this way
Breaking us down a little at a time
Is it easier now that Im not around
Is it time to draw the line
Well, we dont have to pretend
That its a hollywood ending
Leave it to me
To act like a fool begging you to come back
When I had you I had everything
And now all I have is this photograph
Theres nothing here to defend
Its not a hollywood ending
You dont have to go
No, you dont have to go
You couldve been the star of
My show anytime
No, you dont have to go the trouble with you
The trouble with me
We aint meant to be
Well, we dont have to pretend
That its a hollywood ending
Another hollywood ending
Its not as bad as it seems
A hollywood ending
Its hard to give up your dreams
Another hollywood ending
All that glitters will fade
A hollywood ending
Just like the promise you made
Another hollywood ending
Did you want it this way

European films were what it was about for me - the sensations I needed, the depth, the storytelling, the characters, the directors, and the freedom that you can't really find in American films.

You love all your characters, even the ridiculous ones. You have to on some level; they're your weird creations in some kind of way. I don't even know how you approach the process of conceiving the characters if in a sense you hated them. It's just absurd.
Let Me Sleep Beside You
Baby, baby, brush the dust of youth from your shoulder
Because the years of fretting days are right behind you now
Dont return to fields of green where rainbow secrets were told
Place your ragged doll with all the toys and things and deeds
I will show you a game where the winner never wins
Let your hair hang down, wear the dress your mother wore
Let me sleep beside you
Lock away your childhood and throw away the key
For now the streets and city sounds will burn your eyes as coals
We shall drink the oldest wine and velvet skies will linger
Child, youre a woman now, your heart and soul are free
I will boldly light that lamp and we shall walk together
Let your hair hang down, wear the dress your mother wore
Let me sleep beside you
Your darkened eyes throw mystery
But your lips are void of history
You could not imagine that it could happen this way, could you
I will give you dreams and Ill tell you things youll like to hear
Let your hair hang down, wear the dress your mother wore
Let me sleep beside you
Let me sleep beside you
