Our South Australian farmers left their holdings in the hands of their wives and children too young to take with them, but almost all of them returned to grow grain and produce to send to Victoria.

Victoria
Long ago life was clean
Sex was bad and obscene
And the rich were so mean
Stately homes for the lords
Croquet lawns, village greens
Victoria was my queen
Victoria, victoria, victoria, toria
I was born, lucky me
In a land that I love
Though I am poor, I am free
When I grow I shall fight
For this land I shall die
Let her sun never set
Victoria, victoria, victoria, toria
Victoria, victoria, victoria, toria
Land of hope and gloria
Land of my victoria
Land of hope and gloria
Land of my victoria
Victoria, toria
Victoria, victoria, victoria, toria
Canada to india
Australia to cornwall
Singapore to hong kong
From the west to the east
From the rich to the poor
Victoria loved them all
Victoria, victoria, victoria, toria
Victoria, victoria, victoria

Marriage Supper
To the man and his wives,
To the woman and her husband,
A white horse of words to lead the way;
But faithful and truth to the world so sweet.
Of the bridegroom and the bride,
Of the flame of fire to lead the way;
But the marriage supper is of the Lamb of love.
Life is like a man sold for his theft,
And do not practice astrology on this issue;
For the marriage supper is ready for you and i.
Of the first and the last,
And a shickle to the home of love;
But try to set set the mother bird free after catching the young.
The marriage supper,
Do not be ruled by your wives!
And do not set a stranger as your King;
For the taste of your many wives may lead you to many problems.
Of a black horse,
But its rider is dishonest and a lair;
And in the great River Euphrates,
I will be ready for your love at this supper.
Clouds of white doves,
Wings of pure love,
Like the doors of heaven!
For i have now seen the glory of the Creator.
At the marriage supper,
The harpers harping with their harps;
With others arrayed in white robes.
Of hands lifted towards heaven at this feast,
Give the little Book to read a line to all;
And at the table of the farmers like,
The farmers farming on their farms.
Of a reed like a measuring rod and,
According to their works on this day;
But honest weights nad measures are needed at the feast.
Of the spirit of life and the sweet of honey,
Like the money paid for this marriage;
But be part of the first resurrection to gain wisdom,
For the marriage supper is for you and i to attend.
Chosen virgins free of bonds,
Wrapped in the tallit of a man to guide you all;
And of the malak standing in the sun to watch us from above,
This marriage supper is for us all to attend.
Rain, grain, train, brain, drain;
Small and great to attend this mariage supper,
But my mind will always write to teach many.

Irene
She seems such a nice lady the beautiful Irene
Her hair as dark as raven's wing her countenance serene
She came out from South Africa with her husband and family
And in Australia for her kids she says more opportunity.
Some of her children miss South Africa still homesick so she say
But Australia they may grow to love at least she hopes one day
She emigrated for their sake she hopes they understand
Still young people have been known to yearn for years for their Homeland.
She talks about South Africa her Homeland far away
But she's not sorry that she left and here she plans to stay
When the Springboks played in the World cup final she watched that on T.V.
And with her family she rejoiced at their great victory.
She has a Grecian background but the moment that she speak
You know she is South African she doesn't sound like a Greek,
She came out to Australia just for her children's sake
And I thought that quite brave of her such a sacrifice to make.
Dark haired Irene from Africa so human and so warm
She's not a proud or showy type she has a quiet charm
And though I only spoke with her for a brief while that memory remain
And what's a loss to South Africa must be Australia's gain

Victoria
Turnin' over again
Here for another day
Still the thoughts of a dream
Fragments you can't escape
I won't let you down
Won't let you down
I won't let you down
Victoria (Victoria)
Let's take it from the start
Back to the beginning
Victoria (Victoria)
I can't breathe when we're apart
Without you there's nothing without you
Standin' out in the rain
Watchin' the traffic slow
As the light begins to fade
You're warmed by the city glow
I won't let you down
Won't let you down
I won't let you down
Victoria (Victoria)
Let's take it from the start
Back to the beginning
Victoria (Victoria)
I can't breathe when we're apart
Without you there's nothing without you
There's nothing (There's nothing)
Nothing
Turnin' over again
Here for another day
Victoria (Victoria)
Let's take it from the start
Back to the beginning
Victoria (Victoria)
I can't breathe when we're apart
Without you there's nothing without you

Victoria
Stripping flowers at pedal pace
Twirling blur of legs, legs and lace
Victoria, she loves her name
Running flushed our faces red
Daring her to kiss, to kiss my head
Victoria, she loves her name
Bathing in her innocence
Then drowned in her indifference
Victoria
I left her on her frozen route
I grew up while she, she grew out
Victoria, she loves her name
A social climb by offering love
til everyone was inside of
Victoria
Loves
Now my love wont make amends
You cut the cord on which your life depends
Victoria, she loves her name
Like cheating in a childrens game
Victory doesnt taste the same
Yet victoria, she loves her name
Victoria
Loves

Send Your Mind
Van Morrison
Bang Masters

(guitar intro)
(Send your mind)
(Send your mind)
(Send your mind)
(Send your mind)
Well you're out there, on the highway
While you're drivin', a-roll on by
Goin' south between the bridges
While the river's runnin' dry
And if ya can't come home
Please send your mind
(Send your mind)
(Send your mind)
(Send your mind)
(Send your mind)
Now you're talkin', where ya goin'
On the train that sees the road
'Cross the nation, passing stations
While the night is as black as coal
And if you can't come home
Please send your mind
(Send your mind)
(Send your mind)
Ooo!
(Guitar solo and Instrumental)
(Send your mind)
(Send your mind)
Well, if your handle ain't, on your heartbeat
And your headed between the sheet
And the sign isn't from the lamp post
On the corner of the street
And if ya can't come home
Please send your mind
(Send your mind)
(Send your mind)
Ooo-ooo-we
(Send your mind)
(Send your mind)
Ooo-ooo-wee-ooo
(Send your mind)
A we-we-eee
(Send your mind)
A we-eee
(Send your mind)
Aah, little darlin'
(Send your mind)
Come on home
(Send your mind)
Come on home
(Send your mind)
Aah, send it, send it, send it
Send your mind
(Send your mind)
Ah, try to send it, baby
(Send your mind)
All ya gotta do
(Send your mind)
Shoo-be-do, shoo-be-do, shoo-be-do
(Send your mind)
Aah, send your mind
(Send your mind)
(Send your mind)
Go on send it darlin'
(Send your mind)
Come on home

Be wife elder
Ovum cells are released from the stock
And the age of woman does not matter.
Sperm cells are produced and then released.
So the age of man has an impact on them.
Old men produce children with dull brain.
Old women produce children quite smart.
Young man can choose elder woman to wed.

Memorial Day
Memories of those who are no longer here
are shared by millions who hold them dear.
Their faces so young that stay in the mind
of parents and wives and husbands that find
their loved ones were taken so young in their years.
Their children were left too young to cry tears,
never knowing their fathers or seeing their smile
or having them there as they walk down the aisle.
No war's ever worth their great sacrifice,
fought with their lives, they paid the great price.
And now we take time just one day a year
and pray somehow, somewhere they can hear
we miss them and honor them in memory
and hope their children's lives will turn out to be
ones that are filled with love and with peace.
So in their futures 'Memorial Days' will cease.

South City Midnight Lady
Patrick simmons
Up all night I could not sleep
The whiskey that I drank was cheap
With shakin hands I went and I lit up my last cigarette
Well the sun came, night had fled
And sleepy eyed I reached my bed
I saw you sleepy dreamin there all covered and warm
South city midnight lady
Im much obliged indeed
You sure have saved this man whose soul was in need
I thought there was no reason
For all these things I do
But the smile that sent out returned with you
When day has left the night behind
And shadows roll across my mind
I sometimes find myself alone out walkin the street
Yes, and when Im feelin down and blue
Then all I do is think of you
And all my foolish problems seem to fade away
South city midnight lady
Im much obliged indeed
You sure have saved this man whose soul was in need
I thought there was no reason
For all these things I do
But the smile that sent out returned with you

Tommy Carty The Musician
Tommy Carty the musician a marvel of guitar
From his Homecity of Dublin he is living far
In South West Victoria in the City Of Warrnambool
One honoured as a Legend of the Koroit Lake School.
Not into self promotion of such he seems shy
But true talent of him one could never deny
His music says more of him than words can say
One of the best living guitarists of today.
In a Human World of self promotion and so much self conceit
One as humble as he is such a pleasure to meet
Yet when it comes to playing of guitar few with him to compare
The Tommy Cartys of this World to say the least rare.
Amongst the musicians of South West Victoria one famed and well known
One might say of him in a class of his own
So self effacing and down to earth in his own humble way
The masterful guitarist he just loves to play.
In South West Victoria a legendary name
Yet his is far greater than a local fame
The high standard of guitar playing he sets for himself he does attain
And Dublin's loss is surely Warrnambool's gain.

Johnsons Aeroplane
Four long lines one darker than the rest
Each one has a purpose making borders on the land
Farmers pride you know he works real hard
]from a small aeroplane you can see the fields
Heart shaped hedges
Japanese gardens
A place to work and grow
A place to work and grow
Four long years one leaner than the rest
The animals are fed and the pastures dry
Farmers pride if the weather doesnt lie
]from a small aeroplane you can see the sea
Lots of blue
Very deep blue
A place to work and grow
A place to work and grow
Johnson sees the fields from all the sides
Steel machines and black tar roads
Countryside where the spirit never dies
In his face all the history shows
Farmers pride as the rains came down

Forever Young
May God bless and keep you always
May your wishes all come true
May you always do for others
And let others do for you
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung
May you stay forever young
Forever young, forever young
May you stay forever young
May you grow up to be righteous,
May you grow up to be true
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you
May you always be courageous
Stand upright and be strong
May you stay forever young
Forever young, forever young
May you stay forever young
May your hands always be busy
May your feet always be swift
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift
May your heart always be joyful
May your song always be sung
May you stay forever young

Young mother!
When the mother is left with young children,
The hands are full and the mind is not dull,
Her eyes are down on the children, who rattle,
Not on the spouse, who suddenly stops to tattle,
Young mother is as busy as a bee, flying around,
The messy house to have the neat hive and honey,
She is not a queen bee to order the servants,
She is a human and needs help and love,
Helpless responsible young mothers are great,
For they have sacrificed their comfort for their brood,
So many professionals gave up their career,
For the love that they have upon their future,
Young mothers of the world, just relax and not to cry,
So much work day in and day out, but you are the Gods,
To provide what your young children need,
To cover them with comfort of loving blanket,
To protect them from all invisible germs and harms,
To plant the seeds of care in their mind to bloom,
Disciplined children are the outcome of your salty sweat,
Continue to sacrifice as our ancestors did.

Children Of The Land
Written by james young
Lead vocals by james young
Children of the land
Dont wear a frown upon your face
Come on and join your hands
Were all a part of the human race
The music is here
To let you leave your fears behind
Come on along dont do me wrong
Lets see what you might find
Children of the land
Children of the land
Dont misunderstand
Were all children of the land
Dont trust anyone else
To run your life and set your goals
Youve gotta be able to live with yourself
When you are getting old
Others are getting blamed
For messing your life around
Its your own fault if you complain
For letting it get you down
Children of the land
Children of the land
Dont misunderstand
Were all children of the land
Children - come on children now
Children - yeah
Children - I said children yeah
Children - come on children now
Children - of the land
Children - of the land
Children - I said of the land

After The Slow Slipping Of Self
grab your emptiness
like a handful of sand
in your hand
and let it spill there
grain after grain
after grain
until all is gone
away
slipping from
your fingers
then feel that
your hands
are still yours
