I am really driven, but my drive doesn't effect the conversations I have in my head about life, and my worries and fears and insecurities.

Driven
Words by neil peart, music by geddy lee and alex lifeson
Driven up and down in circles
Skidding down a road of black ice
Staring in and out storm windows
Driven to a fools paradise
But its my turn to drive
Driven to the margin of error
Driven to the edge of control
Driven to the margin of terror
Driven to the edge of a deep, dark hole
Driven day and night in circles
Spinning like a whirlwind of leaves
Stealing in and out back alleys
Driven to another den of thieves
But its my turn to drive
Driven in --- driven to the edge
Driven out --- on the thin end of the wedge
Driven off --- by things Ive never seen
Driven on --- by the road to somewhere Ive never been
Its my turn to drive
The road unwinds towards me
What was there is gone
The road unwinds before me
And I go riding on

In His Hands
Driven conversations, even I can read
Wouldn't want to fake it, and I'm tired of this dream
Taking medications, in the back of the room
Driven conversations, he died in June.
See the stab wounds in his hands
See him dying in his room
He's dying in his room
He's dying in his room
Heading for me, heading this way
He is coming, I don't care
Wouldn't want to fake it, well I don't mind
Giving conversations to a friend of mine
Giving medications, in a lighted room
Wouldn't want to fake it, I know I should
See the stab wounds in his hands
You killed him, I don't care
Keep a promise, you would too
Keep a promise, even you
See the silence in his head
He is coming, I don't care
We're not gonna make it, well I don't mind
Wouldn't want to fake it, but I have this time
Giving conversations, to whom they don't know
Taking medications till my stomach's full.
See a famine in his head
See him coming at their heels
He loves you, give him a chance
I don't love him, I don't care
See him starving, give her hell
It is over, we don't care In His Room

Deliver Me
deliver me...
from the fury, the noise,
and the roar of the wheel...
deliver me...
from my own insecurities,
my unconscious greed,
and my self driven fears.
deliver me...
from my conceptual understanding,
my limited knowledge,
and my worship of knowledge.
deliver me...
from all anger and hatred
in whatever disguise...
deliver me...
from being driven by
mouth and stomach unchecked,
from what i think i need.
deliver me..
from my countless mistakes,
and the excuses i make!
deliver me...
from any kind of pride
that closes the open hand!
deliver me...
from any sense of self
that would seperate and divide.
deliver me...
from laziness and tiredness,
from bitterness and lonliness.
deliver me...
from all forms of apathy,
and the want to possess...
deliver me...
and bring me to realize myself!

This Is The Sadness
Mystified are many,
Looking from the outside in.
As to why people who 'appear' to be
Of the same race...
Would have issues of skin color.
And have those insecurities they hold...
From the beginning of noticing it,
Until their life experiences end.
This doesn't make sense,
Since they are all oppressed.
And not by those from other races.
They keep these issues to bait...
A self hatred that goes undebated.
Yet felt,
Although stubbornly unspoken.
And this has allowed a self esteem,
Defeated.
With expectations minimized.
And from their eyes success...
Becomes a thing maximized to beat.
Keeping them divided...
With a call for unity from the tongues.
But despising one another,
They can not seem to cease.
Mystified are many,
Looking from the outside in.
As to why people who 'appear' to be
Of the same race...
Would have issues of skin color.
And have those insecurities they hold...
From the beginning of noticing it,
Until their life experiences end.
This is the sadness,
For those without a dignity to pride!
Or an identity to defend.
This is 'their' sadness!
But not for those who laugh at them.
This is 'their' sadness as observed and seen.
As others who are just as petty...
In a system petty driven to affect and demean.

Drive Me Wild
Ooh, look at me, I'm a Cadillac
I'm a brand new convertible child
I've never been driven baby, U're the first
Come on baby, drive me wild ... ooh
Ooh, look at me, I'm a telephone
Whatever U want, just dial
Come on honey, please, it's so easy
Do it baby, drive me wild
CHORUS:
Come on baby, do it, drive me wild
Do it baby, drive me wild
Come on baby, do it, drive me wild
Do it baby, drive me wild
Ooh, look at me, I'm a radio
Call me up, make a request
I'll do anything, just name it
When I'm bad, baby, I'm the best
CHORUS
Ooh
Ooh, look at me, I'm a baby doll
Just pick me up and I'll smile
I may be young but I'm a whole lotta fun
Come on, baby, drive me wild
CHORUS
Ooh, do it, drive me wild
Come on baby, drive me wild
Ooh, do it, drive me wild
Come on baby, drive me wild
Drive me wild, drive me wild

Drive/driven
Tonight you gotta look in my eyes
You got it, you drive me out of my mind
Drive, driven
Gave, given
Its dangerous to stay
And I say
Drive, driven
Gave, given
I gave myself away
You drive me crazy
Youre lazy
Calling my name
You drive me crazy
Youre lazy
Out of my mind
cause youre a diva
Im a believer
cause youre a diva
Im a believer
Tonight, you gotta give me a number of games
You got it, you gotta give me a number of names
Drive, driven
Gave, given
Its dangerous to stay
And I say
Drive, driven
Gave, given
I gave myself away
You drive me crazy...

A Purple Hat Box
I had worries, worries had me,
so I packed ‘em up and stowed 'em away.
I kept the worries at bay, you might say.
The trouble was they bugged me,
they screamed and itched and tugged me!
So I put them in a box.
It was a deep, purple hat box.
Some days I'd forget about them,
but then I'd remember and peep inside.
The worries glared at me with their big pop eyes!
They laughed at me, taunted me,
they were wild.
They talked in my head all day and all night.
They were stalking me!
Something had to be done
I opened the box again, threw them in,
nailed the lid down, real tight,
sat on the box and sighed.
The worries cried for mercy one more time
and then, guess what…………?
They died.

Driven By You
Words and music by brian may
Oh - everything I do I do for you
Oh yeah
We touch and youre afraid of me and
We burn and now Im at your feet
High speed, but you know youre in safe hands
In the dark we make a brighter light
From one spark to the horizon wide
We trust and together we tame the land - yeah
Youd be forgiven if you think youre dreaming
But were working night and day to make a dream come true
- yeah
Everything I do is driven by you
Oh - come on babe
Oh well its tough to make a journey through
The right stuff is dead ahead of you and me
And you know weve still got time
Hold on tight to the driving wheel
This ride is really out of line
Raw deal, but theres no other thats worth a dime
You know I love you but you drive me crazy
cos youre saying all the things I want to say to you
You say
Everything I do is driven by you
Everything we do (4x)
Everything we do is driven by you
Inner children lost their way
Now they know the price you pay
Im holding on to life with you
cos life without you just wont do
Driven by you
You know Im never going to know whos dreaming
But were working night and day to make a dream come true
- yeah
Everything I do is driven by you
Everything we do (8x)
Everything we do is driven by
Driven by
Driven by you
Oh - everything I do I do for you

If it wasn't for you...
Sitting here in this lonely dark room,
Hearing the yells fill my head,
Bad thoughts consume my mind,
Feeling the pain in my heart,
This happens daily and doesn't seem to fade,
I don't see the point of breathing anymore,
One tear comes down and soon another,
Seeing a little bright light glowing,
Chills going down my spin,
Is this a sign or just my imagination?
Stop! Don't do this,
You'll surely regret it,
My conscious was right,
When you walked into my life,
You made me feel alive again,
Changed me in ways I didn't think was possible,
Made me forget about this hell I'm living in,
All of my worries, fears, sadness, anger doesn't seem to affect me now that I have you,
You taught me how to love and actually be happy,
Thank you for everything,
If it wasn't for you I wouldn't be writing this right now,
Who knows where I would be,
Just know I love you with all my heart and soul.
Forever and Anyways your baby girl. ♥

Talks With The Dead
He converses too often
with the dead. The talks
Remembered, taken in
Deep the words said.
He sorts through afterwards
The conversations, what
Was said by who to whom,
And how was said. And as
He spoke took in the eyes
Of those speaking, the open
Happiness there, the lack
Of worries, absence of fear
Of their mortality, being there
In that other place, just a finger
Tip, a cool breath’s feel away.
He sees them, they pass by,
Time of no concern, no pressures
For them anymore, just the talking,
Soft conversations with those
Who have moved on, those who
Felt death’s kiss and touch over much.

It Is Best to Be Cautious
Some folks believe they benefit,
By protecting their insecurities.
As if they are hidden.
And others can not see.
Or know those insecurities,
Have a life of their own.
And have been given the 'authority'
To express themselves!
And publicly breathe.
But when those insecurities,
Begin to plop on another's integrity...
There is no sense to defend them.
Feelings once spared,
Are no longer given a chance.
And egos become wounded.
And those romanced exaggerations,
About life...
Become stung,
By someone who intends to deliver...
A bitter nasty tongue done.
And there is no regret.
It is best to be cautious,
In these situations.
Especially when accusations,
Begin to sprout wings and fly!

A Reflection Of A Life
Many years ago,
I was trying to pull my life together,
trying to figure out who I really was.
I had left what few friends I had,
moved across to a land of strangers
which was to become my home.
My insecurities robbed me
of all the best chances
that ever came my way,
leaving me adrift with all my inner fears.
Even as I grew older those fears were always present
and never released their grip on me.
I escaped from one bad domain to another,
the second wanted to stifle
every once of creativity.
Every road I took met a dead end,
friends became less and less
until there were none I could ever count upon.
Now I feel lonely within everything I do.
I guess that is the way that I will feel
until my life is through.

A Self-Estimate
My life has been built around
self-doubt of who I am
with insecurity and vulnerability.
To many that might seem strange
and to others it might seem I have it all.
A lasting marriage,
fulfilling my dreams one at a time,
friends around the world.
You ask what else
could anyone really want.
When I was young
whatever I did
my sister or someone else
could always do it better
even when I succeeded,
at least that is what I was always told.
Those words brought forth
all sorts of insecurities
that plagued my life from those days to this.
They would tell me my writing
was rubbish and I should never show them
to anyone or they would hold me up to ridicule.
Now my writing is read and enjoyed
by thousands across the world.
So why is it that these insecurities
keep swirling around my head?
The questions keep coming,
but the answers elude me.
Even when I look at my accomplishments
those insecurities still follow me around.
Will my bubble burst
and will their words back then be right?
I hope and pray not and I will just carry on
no matter what the outcome is.
My future is sealed
no matter which way I turn.
A writer I will always be,
whether good, bad or indifferent,
or for richer or poorer be.
I gave up once for a number of years,
but fate had it in store
that I would write again once more.
It even lead me down different paths
than I had been down before.
What next I ask myself,
just keep on writing I guess
and the insecurities.
Well, they will still follow me
as well as the self-doubts
I was brainwashed with.
You cannot turn back the clock
say it never happened.
It is just something in my life
I am going to have to live with.

Is man really courageous?
Is man really courageous?
He who says so
Must be lunatic.
Man fears life,
He fears death,
He fears disease,
He fears failure
And sometimes his success also,
He fears the truth,
He fears honesty,
He fears God
But on his terms,
And above all
He fears himself.
So why should he be called
A courageous?

I Refuse To Say Anything About It
I am 'not' going to say anything,
About 'anyone' and their insecurities.
It is pointless to keep harping upon them,
When those who have them are clearly possessive.
And who am I to mention who is insecure?
You know what I'm saying?
Who gave me the right to perceive,
Those with insecurities feed upon them.
With a seeking of others,
To defend their weaknesses.
And that is one of the reasons,
I refuse to say anything about it.
I'm sure people with insecurities,
Know they've got them.
'Well,
I am glad you didn't bring it up for discussion.'

Drive
Give me a
Man who
Doesn't have
A drive ;)
I'll marry him
And my poetry
Will thrive :)
Why?
‘Cause
If I'm
With a
Man
Who's
Besotted
With his
Drive ;)
Instead
Of writing
I'll be
Just busy
Satisfying
His drive ;)

You Come In
running and running
going through life at full speed
can be hard at times sometimes
I want someone to take the wheel away from me
take my keys away from me
drive for me for a while
or help me drive
some times I want to give up
sometimes I want to quit
sometimes I want to end it all with one slit with the wrist
I need someone to take the blade out of my head
and replace it with roses
sometimes I feel like my sickness wont go away
I need someone to take care of me
I need someone to put up with my shit
I need someone who will go out of there way to make me smile
I need someone to give me the energy to carry on
when I think all hope is lost
I need someone that will always be there supporting me
that when I jump in and it's over my head
they will jump in with me and help me back to the top
that will help me get the courage to do want I want to do
or to be there with me when I face my fears
and understands the power of a whisper
and the weakness of a scream
I need someone to make me feel great about myself
make me feel gorgeous
I need someone that wont stab my heart
and cut it in half
I need someone
someone like you
to step in my life
and be my counter balance
be the other half
of the piece of my puzzle
when I need help
that is when
that is when
you come in
