I intend to travel to Okinawa and to visit with Okinawa officials and the citizens of Okinawa at an early date. I will send my best analysis of that situation, including the local attitudes, back to Washington, to the government there.

Going Back To Okinawa
(ry cooder)
Goin back down to okinawa
Sorry, baby, but I cant take you
You better stay at home in california
Theres nothing over there that you can do
Goin back down to okinawa
Aint gonna do me like youve done before
They treat me like a king down in okinawa
And I may never come back no more
Its just an island floating in the sun
Everybody is having so much fun
Pretty mamas laying in the sand
Sure to know how to treat your man
Okinawian baby, wont you come by me ?
Sun going down in the china sea
Making love on the beach all night
Okinawa moon is shining so bright
Folks in okinawa sure have fun
They get together when the working day is done
Drinking cheap wine. and making romance
While some old mans doing the okina dance
Back in the days of world war ii
Fought against the japanese like me and you
Everybodys worried bout world war iii
Okinawas just the place where Im gonna be
Going back to okinawa
Sorry, but I cant take you
Never coming back no more, baby

Okinawa
Armada sails
Island after island
Battalions land
Ominous silence
Jungles become fierce roaring lions
Machine gun nests
Relentless enemy with no surrender
Casualties, the maimed and dying
Rain, mud, the dead unburied
Torture, dehumanization, madness
Corpses defiled
Attack after attack
Night becomes a morbid nightmare
Shadows, ghosts, artillery fire
The rocks splattered with blood
Strategic hills, hidden caves
Caves where fear shivers
They fight and wait for the emperor
Huddled in the cold darkness
Foreign voice echoes off the rocks
Warned to come out for the last time
Some sealed in their bleak darkness
Exploded into kingdom come
Finally the flag waves in sober winds
Thousands and thousands in early graves
Count your dead
Purple hearts
Remember these brave children of war
They no longer hear the guns and roar
They lay silent with honor
Okinawa falls

Have You, Ever Been in Cathay ?
People today, like to travel around,
To places in big, places in small, and even, underground!
They travel by plane or by bus, by a boat or a motor-cycle,
Sometimes travel on a horse, or even a bicycle.
But how , can you travel and visit CATHAY?
For those who want to visit Cathay, it is to say CHINA today!
But in the past, the European, called it that way!
Even in Russian , it is pronounced KITAI,
So for you in privet, it doesn't matter why!
Again, I asked you, how can we travel and visit CATHAY ?

Dark The Moods
Dark the moods.
Dark too those attitudes.
The ones that 'use' to visit and annoy,
When I felt quite defeated.
Dark the moods.
Dark too those attitudes.
I could not rid or alone leave.
On me they fed as if a feast to feed.
I had to freeze all emotions,
Shown and worn on my sleeve.
They were too easily revealed.
Too easily perceived.
I had to pick myself up,
Off my knees.
There was a comfort in it,
With a welcome of a hopelessness that pleased.
Dark the moods.
Dark too those attitudes.
I could not rid or alone leave.
On me they fed as if a feast to feed.
Dark the moods.
Dark too those attitudes.
The ones that 'use' to visit and annoy,
When I felt quite defeated.
I had to freeze all emotions worn on my sleeve.
Dark the moods.
Dark too those attitudes.
I had to pick myself up off my knees.
Dark the moods.
Dark too those attitudes.
They 'use' to visit me when I...
They 'use' to visit me when I...
They 'use' to visit me when I felt,
Quite DEFEATED!

Never Make Your Move Too Soon
(will jennings/nesbert hooper jr.)
Three days of snow out in birmingham
Thought you would wonder where I am
Called up your number all night long
No consolations on the telephone
Ran out and caught that midnight flight
Thought a little loving would make everything all right
But, no!
Landlord said, youd moved away
And left me all your bills to pay
Its too bad, baby, you might have made your move too soon
I think you might have made your move too soon, girl
Now, look here
Left me out here with a keno card
Life in vegas really aint so hard
Ran it up to about fifty grand
Cashed it in and held it in my hand
That kinda money gets the word around
And makes a lost love come up found
I hear you knocking baby at my door
You aint living here no more
I tried to tell you before
But you made your move too soon
Now Im gonna play!
All right, now Im just going to tell you one more thing
Well, Ive been from texas down to tokyo
Okinawa back to ohio
Never tried to make the news
Im just a man that loves to play the blues
Take my guitar everywhere
Now, if you people dont like it, I really dont care
Crowd jumps up and the band falls down
Love to see us rolling into town
Because the people know, well, we never make our move too soon
Never make your move too soon
Ya made your move too soon, girl
Ya made your move too soon, baby....babe
I think ya made your move too soon
Lets hear it for all the chickens that died in the heat wave

A Good Citizen
When i hear someone referred to as a good citizen i feel like laughing aloud
Your government approves of you big brother of you proud
But if you die tomorrow the government won't care
To them you are just a number and your type are not rare,
The government and big brother you do not need to impress
Their approval or disapproval will not ease your cares and stress
The one who is a good friend to the neighbour is surely far more great
Than the one big brother looks upon as a good friend of the State,
The good citizens pay their taxes and work hard for their pay
And they vote in a lousy Government on National election day
And good citizens dob in their fellow citizen to the police for a minor traffic offence
In their quest for big brother's approval they sacrifice common sense
And many more good citizens they passed away today
They worked hard and voted in a lousy government and their taxes they did pay.

Of all the inventions that have helped to unify China perhaps the airplane is the most outstanding. Its ability to annihilate distance has been in direct proportion to its achievements in assisting to annihilate suspicion and misunderstanding among provincial officials far removed from one another or from the officials at the seat of government.

Cut Chemist Suite
Tuna the smoke-jumper, packin my oral cannon
Bustin from okinawa, japan to laurel canyon
Swallow flows, we turning like plush tires
Mellow intros lyrics be burning like brush fires
Spreading vocal leprosy, using discrepancy
Lyric weaponry lessens your chances of testing me
Stop and freeze m.c.s, I block atrocities
True philosophies from the lips of black socrates
The pocket-penciler in your peninsula
Killing dracula mcs who bit from my vernacular
I can back it. the ill scene we occupy
No lullaby, got you high, when I rock a fly
Verse, for my people, let me breath slow
Give a heave-ho, and stimulate your cerebral
System, cut chemist grip the fader
Tuna the group debater
We murder you duplicators
Cuz Im an aristocrat, ghetto diplomat
And Im blessed with a gift for rap
They call me mister antagonistic, drastic
Comin from a place where these cops get their assed kicked
The last trick unified was the cornerstone
But now a lyric pistol to the dome is how we warn a clone
Born alone, the strength of God makes my mission higher
They found a liar dead, strung up with fishin wire
The mystifier packin vocal artillery
Makin lovely word connections like chuck woolery
The cool in me, Ill make your block turn on one rhyme
Electrifyin like some nocturnal sunshine
The planetary pioneer and his mixer
Cut chemist, chali 2na spittin scriptures
Paintin pictures, even sisters adapt cuz
We take it back like chiropractors
Actors on wax make worse for real mcs who worth your while
So they search for me
Cuz Im an aristocrat, ghetto diplomat
And Im blessed with a gift for rap

Let us never forget that government is ourselves and not an alien power over us. The ultimate rulers of our democracy are not a President and senators and congressmen and government officials, but the voters of this country.

Certainly one of the chief guarantees of freedom under any government, no matter how popular and respected, is the right of the citizens to keep and bear arms. This is not to say that firearms should not be carefully used and that definite safety rules of precaution should not be taught and enforced. But the right of the citizens to bear arms is just one guarantee against arbitrary government and one more safeguard against a tyranny which now appears remote in America, but which historically has proved to be always possible.
