An author knows his landscape best; he can stand around, smell the wind, get a feel for his place.

Messenger of Hope
Wind,
No matter how strong,
No matter how little,
Will always,
Mean so much to me.
Wherever I am,
In this unimaginable world,
I can always feel,
The wind,
As it comes and goes,
And travels across,
Your imagination,
Across the oceans,
To a land unknown,
And touches the cheek,
Of another person,
Another life.
Which is why,
I like to believe,
The wind can carry,
Anything and everything.
Like the sound of music,
The smile of a child,
The spirit of an individual,
Or the smell fo something you long,
To smell again,
Like the smell of rain or,
The smell of freedom.
Wind,
Is the Messenger,
Between person to person,
Between place to place.
But for me,
Wind,
Is my Messenger of Hope,
Hope to believe again,
Hope to understand,
Hope that I will return home,
And hope to keep my life intact,
For I never will know these things,
If it weren't for the wind,
My Messenger of Hope.

The joy of the road
It’s a big joy
to take the road
and drive past cornfields
and to get the sweet sour smell
that water leaves there
for the first time
in your nose.
It’s a big joy
to drive on a road
that allures black in front of you
and goes up and down through the landscape.
There’s something indescribable
if you become part
of the sun and the wind
and with a motorbike
to find your place
in the world around you.
There’s something magical
to hear the insects
in the bushes
outside of Pieter Maritzburg
and to smell the summer sun
on the plantation trees.
Still greater is
to catch the smell of the see
on the wind
to see the blue waters
lying in the distance,
while free like a bird
you drive nearer to it.

Face The Wind
Face the wind
Feel the pressure
It blows me away
It rushes past to God knows where
When I turn my self to stand in its path
Feel it Almost like
Radiant fingers Invigorating
Strokes energy through my flowing hair
Filling with joy my heart
Soul overflows with passion I feel
I hear nothing but the wind
It is everything in my ears
And when I finally speak
Words leave my mouth
And all leave presence
As wind captures them and
Steals them from the listening
To hoard them in its vast secret place
Far away beyond most imagination
Feel the wind
Speak into it your secrets
Taste, Smell its messages
Hear voices it carries
From animals and trees and
Storms and lovers
See it, watch its patterns
Where it comes from and goes to
Look at its journey, its traveling
But can’t
You can’t see it
But you can feel it
Somewhere it is deep
And its colours would be beautiful
Face the wind
Full-force you feel it and
It blows you away
Feel its soothing power
Breathe in life
Feel
Face the wind.

the smell of the wind

The Whispering Wind
like the whispering wind you sent to me
like the hopeless time you gave to me
i watched your dreams all slip away
i watched your dreams all slip away
there's a hopeless place inside my heart
when i look inside i see where we are
like the whispering wind in the top of the trees
i will watch the sky come following me
like the rain on my windows late every night
like the hope i have for us every time
it's like the whispering wind in the top of the trees
i see it sway as you come for me
there's a whispering wind i feel it inside
like a place i can feel but never will see
let a whisper come touch you come touch every thing
i stand in the way of the things i can be
let the whispering wind come lift us away
let it push us apart if we wish to stay
you're my sweetness my baby my love for all time
like the whispering wind it makes you all mine
like the whispering wind you stand here with me
like the whispering wind you stand here with me
i see your dreams all slip away
slip away
slip away
slip away

Little Lies
wash away my pain
discovering its in my veins
I smell the lilacs in my hair
I'm wishing I was not here
always takes me back to this dark place
suddenly fills me I feel insane
I feel the warm sun from your embrace
Wishing love will take my place
Take me away from this moment
Run me away from these tears
Dragging my heart into this moment
I wish this moment was never here........
Disappointment from me again
Did you think I was your friend
But from a distance you stand cold and silent
but with your words you hit the target...
little lies, you promised you always love me................
wash away my pain
discovering its in my veins
I smell the lilacs in my hair
I'm wishing I was not here
always takes me back to this dark place
suddenly it fills me, I feel insane
I feel the warm sun from your embrace
Wishing love will take my place

Home!
home...
the place the heart
goes to rest,
the soul goes to find
it's lover and friend...
and the spirit goes
to heal and be forgiven....
the place no one else
can see or touch...
inside the palm of God,
close to the breast of the wind...
the place where
you can stand naked,
and never feel cold!

Comings and Goings
It comes and goes like a hummingbird
or snow in April.
When it goes there is a hole
and when the wind blows everyone can feel it.
When it comes the wind does not stop
but turns warm and moist with promise
like the landscape as Spring readies its empire.
It comes with a grip - tight
squeezing thought to a point
It goes, leaving me to feel everything;
until one day nothing comes or goes
and the bright release is all that is left.

Loving Dark Wind
oh how the wind blows oh so free, but i love you. Secretly i hold.
The wind flows though my hair and fills me with new life.
But the wind it tears down the earth with just a breath. The wind changes and never stand still in one place.
The fear in my eyes, seeing that the wind will never be peaceful.
i hide in a cave, try to get away from your power. oh.... but how i love this dark wind.
Come, See. For this is you.Never will this be.
That Smell
Whiskey bottles, and brand new cars
Oak tree you're in my way
There's too much coke and too much smoke
Look what's going on inside you
Ooooh that smell
Can't you smell that smell
Ooooh that smell
The smell of death surrounds you
Angel of darkness is upon you
Stuck a needle in your arm
So take another toke, have a blow for your nose
One more drink fool, will drown you
Ooooh that smell
Can't you smell that smell
Ooooh that smell
The smell of death surrounds you
Now they call you Prince Charming
Can't speak a word when you're full of 'ludes
Say you'll be all right come tomorrow
But tomorrow might not be here for you
Ooooh that smell
Can't you smell that smell
Ooooh that smell
The smell of death surrounds you
Hey, you're a fool you
Stick them needles in your arm
I know I been there before
One little problem that confronts you
Got a monkey on your back
Just one more fix, Lord might do the trick
One hell of a price for you to get your kicks
Ooooh that smell
Can't you smell that smell
Ooooh that smell
The smell of death surrounds you
Ooooh that smell
Can't you smell that smell
Ooooh that smell
The smell of death surrounds you

Martian Landscape
* come from the land where
The wheat is still wheat
Where the waters in the rivers is still water
In this land every man lends
A hand when you need it
But your hands are full of life
So you can help yourself and feel it
Its been a long way from the red of my home
From the valleys
And the green plains never ending
Everyone knows that the sun in his land is stronger
And your hands are full of life
If you can only wait just longer
** so let it be a small haven big in your heart
Dont let it turn into a nova
Tryin to climb and climb
Try and forget this place where
I can still find time
To sing in rhyme
.*** martian landscape,
Ill learn to lie in your arms
Where all the freedom is mine and it comes
Martian landscape,
Ill turn my face to your sun
Where your horizon is mine and it comes
* repeat
** repeat
*** repeat
Martian landscape
Martian landscape

Stand in Faith
Stand in faith
Even when you can't see your way
Stand in faith
Even when you feel like you can't face another day
Stand in faith
Even when the tears want to flow from your eyes
Stand in faith
Knowing that our God will always provide
Stand in faith
Even when you feel that all hope is gone
Stand in faith
Knowing that He is always there for you to lean on
Stand in faith
Even when you feel like giving up
Stand in faith
Because He is there... saying, 'Just look up'
Stand in faith
Even in those times you feel so all alone
Stand in faith
Hold on and be strong, for He is still on the throne
Stand in faith
Even when it's hard to believe
Stand in Faith
Knowing that He can change your situation, suddenly
Stand in faith
Even in those times you feel it's hard to pray
Stand in faith
And believe that He has already made the way
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen
So stand in faith
Because you already have the victory!

I'm Writing to the Wind
I'm writing to the wind
The words drift from my mouth
They dance and mix about
Then lose what they're about
I'm writing to the wind
To say I stand alone
To let the people know
I came and then went home
I'm writing to the wind
Because no one seems to know
We're nearly almost at the door
Where no one want to go
And if the wind says no
I think I'll understand
The wind just comes and goes
And seldom makes a stand
The wind can pass me buy
Or stay awhile to linger
The wind can never die
Or rise to point it's finger
The wind goes on and on
Around the world forever
Unless it comes to find
It's a sad and poor endeavor
For after we are gone
The wind will just be flying
'Ore empty barren plain
We made as we lay dieing

The Rustle
How fascinating the songs of the wind
Carrying up high the bird on spread wings
listen to the birds chirp,
and listen to the howls that are carried in the wind.
How enchanting to play with the wind
Subdued when watching the wind
the wind grabs the whisper and
carries around the world
only the wind decides where
it will take away the whisper...
The smell of blossoms blows with the wind
I search through the billion
In the field of gold and green
I smell them in my handz,
bt couldnt severalize...
their fragrance is under par.
that amply mesmerized..
A breeze brings along the fragrance of apricot flowers.
I couldnt feel the inner reality
that blows with the wind connotes diversity.
It scrawled the human mystery.
I search to find the birth of the wind
went up finding leaves rustle and bustle like a wing.
One thing in all things have I seen
In the hidden recess of the breaking sound.
I saw the flying vision there
in the deepest silence of sacred wind.
At last, at last, the meaning caught.
It shakes its wondrous plumes of thought
burning away all illusion.
unexpected, we are One and the same..

This Lonely Place
You come around
to see your boyfriend
you come around
to feel the pain
it was yesterday he tried to use you
but you still go through it
again you took it away
again you let yourself stay
I've been around
this lonely place
lonely place before
you find out
he's been lying to you
you find he had another girl
still you never
stand up for yourself
you never stand up to him
he takes it away
again you let yourself stay
again you gave it to him
you said it's the last time
he does it again
I've been around
this lonely place
lonely place before
you got a choice
to leave your place
your lonely place behind
be true to yourself
now and let it go
it's better than you think

Billet-Doux
She reads by the light of a guttering candle
and likes the feel of each page's gilt edge
as she lifts it slightly at the corner, readying
herself to turn it. If the wind whips
the sycamore branches outside her window,
if her nightgowned shoulders shudder once
from a sudden chill, so much the better,
and the book must tell of children toiling
for bread and pennies in a textile mill,
or tender brothers doomed to sharpen
their bayonets in opposing armies,
or a family of refugees, dust
in their mouths, gazing with longing at the far
shore of a river. And I long only
to be the author of that book she reads
whose page glows from the same dim
flame that illuminates her face,
the author whose thought she contemplates
as she touches a fingertip to a word
to mark her place and turns her head
toward the kettle that has begun to whistle.

I Think I Smell A Rat
Oh I think I smell a rat
I think I smell a rat
all you little kids
seem to think you know
just where it's at
I think I smell a rat
walking down the street
carrying a baseball bat
I think I smell a rat
Oh I think I smell a rat
I think I smell a rat
all you little kids
seem to think you know
just where is at
I think I smell a rat
treating your mother and father
like a welcome mat
I think I smell a rat

Smell Of Love
You left your smell in me
It won’t go with the ashes
I would not let wind carry it away
‘you are in me’, it would say!
When I stop being there
I would hold on to the smell
I would not let time take it away
‘love can’t die anyway’!
Moving around with your smell
Wherever I am heaven or hell
The spring of love would never dry
I would never let it die!

I've walked a lot in the mountains in Iceland. And as you come to a new valley, as you come to a new landscape, you have a certain view. If you stand still, the landscape doesn't necessarily tell you how big it is. It doesn't really tell you what you're looking at. The moment you start to move the mountain starts to move.
