I've got to give Larry Bird his due; he was a great player. He knew the game and he was smart.

Everybody Knows
I got your number right off the wall
Bristol 285 wont you give me a call
Well I was 15 thought I was hot
I didnt know if youd see me or not
And that night as we stepped out
We were hand in hand
But my friends all seemed to know you
I couldnt understand
That everybody knew, everybody knew, they knew your name
But nobody wants nobody wants to play your game
You seemed so shy so all alone-y
Without any hint of ever being phony
But then the little things that came to light
Like the strange hours you worked late at night
And as we laid in your bed that night
You made me feel like a king
Then as I looked into your eyes
I heard that telephone ring
And everybody knows, everybody knows, they know your name
But nobody wants, nobody wants, to play your game
Oh no, they dont want to know your game again
(instrumental)
And everybody knows, everybody knows, they know your name
Nobody wants, nobody wants, to play your game
And everybody knew, everybody knew, they knew your name
But nobody wants nobody wants to play your game
(instrumental to the end...)

Just Some Names Of Sports Legends
The G A A fans have their own heroes of for to sing
In Gaelic Football Mick O Connell in Hurling Christy Ring
In Boxing Sugar Ray Robinson knew of Worldwide fame
And Babe Ruth's lives on as a great Baseball name
In Soccer Maradona and Pele and George Best
Were never found to be wanting when put to the test
And in Tennis Maureen Connolly the legendary Little Mo
The greatest of her time six decades ago
The A F L fans have Leigh Matthews for to talk about
Their game's greatest player though that not without doubt
And golf has Norman, Nicklaus, Woods, Watson and Gary Player
Of their game's major honours they took the lion's share
And athletics have Nurmi and Zatopek, Owens and Flo Jo
Legends that most sports fans of surely would know.

Street Player
Ill never forget those aimless years
Street sounds swirling through my mind
Trouble was often in the air
So we fought to forget our despair
Im a street player
And Ill play you a song
cause you know, my heart & soul
Will carry, carry on
Carry on
Carry on
Carry on
City lifes the only way
Street corners and billiard halls was our home away
Lessons learned still help me today
Im a street player
Ive seen it all
Hitmen, thieves and many a brawl
But as you see I still stand tall
It was such a small space in time
I never knew that I would find
A musical path for all to see
Anxiety into ecstacy
Im a street player
Im a street player
Im a street player
Im a street player
Im a street player
Ive seen it all
Hitmen, thieves and many a brawl
But as you see I still stand tall
It was such a small space in time
I never knew that I would find
A musical path for all to see
Anxiety into ecstacy
Im a street player
Im a street player
Im a street player
Im a street player

On the life of a great player
He was a great player
Won continuously for years
He was on the top
Of his career
Started taking the game
With leisure
Careless he became
Practice becoming rare
Overconfidence took its toll
His performance decorated
With every game he played
Ultimately tasted defeat
At the hands of
Unknown players
Could not digest
Defeat with ease
Turned into a bad loser
His behavior changed
Arrogant he became
Indulged
In extramarital affairs
Lost money and fame
Took the path of
An unknown
Never to regain
The crown he wore
Realizing his mistakes
He is trying hard
To get
What he had given
Of his own fault
May god fulfill his
Desire
(On the life of a great player, no intention to hurt anybody in person)

I had a coach that was not a great player, but he taught with kids and juniors so that by the time he was 50 he was great. He helped me make the top 5 in the world and yet he wasn't a great player himself.

How Do You Do It
How do you do
What you do to me?
I wish I knew,
If I knew how you do it to me
Id do it to you.
How do you do
What you do to me?
Im feeling blue,
Wish I knew how you do it to me
But I havent a clue.
You give me a feeling in my heart,
Like an arrow piercing through it.
I suppose that you think youre very smart,
But wont you tell me how do you do it?
How do you do
What you do to me?
I wish I knew,
If I knew how you do it to me
Id do it to you.
You give me a feeling in my heart,
Like an arrow piercing through it.
I suppose that you think youre very smart,
But wont you tell me how do you do it?
How do you do
What you do to me?
I wish I knew,
Wish I knew how you do it to me
Id do it to you.
Wish I knew how you do it to me,
Id do it to you.
Wish I knew how you do it to me,
Id do it to you

Now I Know The Truth
You think yourself so smart,
Then you are dumber than i thought.
You still gonna keep on this lie,
And say that you love me,
I won't believe you no matter how you try.
You promised that i always be yours and you will be mine,
But i cought you in the middle of your crime.
Now i know who you really are,
You were just a dream that was so far.
Now i know the truth,
The truth i always knew.
You pretended to be someone you are not,
Someone: good, decent, someone who really cares,
Someone who knew me alot.
But now i know the truth,
The truth i always knew.
I can't go on in this stupid game any more,
Can't go on and pretend that every thing is OK,
So now i'll close that open door.
I can't go on, after i knew the truth,
The truth i always knew.

Stars In His Eyes
Teen wearing cool shades while he waits,
waits at to learn electric guitar to be great.
Be a great guitar player with 'Stars in his Eyes'
his guitar glows on stage late at night.
Teen waiting at Marathon Guitar Center store,
learning guitar from Rich,
to be better than before.
I told teen as I went out the door.
'You are in inspiration to me, '
as we both held on to our guitars,
'You will one day be a great rock star'.
Teen smiled and then Rich added,
'He will give you tickets to the front row-
to his sold out 'Rock Guitar Show'.
Teen smiled to Rich's reply,
I knew this teen could reach for the skies,
and be the 'Guitar Player with Stars in his Eyes.'

Number three, we're going to play very smart and we're not going to beat ourselves. If the other team is better than us and they just out execute us and play better then we can live with that, but we're going to play smart and give ourselves every opportunity to win the game.

Player
Im a player..... girl I thought you knew
When you started messin around with me, knew I wouldnt commit to you
Cause Im a player...... and I know you cant see it in my eyes......
Everyone says that Im innocent, and it should come as no surprise....
That Im a player........... and I really think you need to know
That I cant love you right now baby, cause I need more time to grow.......
But when I do get ready to settle down....
Baby the first one Im calling is you
Oh....... when I do get ready to settle down,
Baby the first one Im calling is you
But until then.........
Im a player, and Ive traveled all around the world,
Ive broken many hearts, and it really hurts to say this to you girl
But Im a player........ and its kinda sad that it has to be this way,
But I dont wanna lock oyou down until Im ready, so right now, Im gonna play......
But when I do get ready to settle down....
Baby the first one Im calling is you
Oh....... when I do get ready to settle down,
Baby the first one Im calling is you
But until then.........
[bass guitar plays]
But when I do get ready to settle down....
Baby the first one Im calling is you
Oh....... when I do get ready to settle down,
Baby the first one Im calling is you
But until then.........

Once people start making comparisons to a player of the past, they want you to be that player. I try to go out there and create my own image, my own style, my own type of game. Right now I can't even think of one guy I've been compared to.

Fisticuffs
They found james ambrose dead in his cell,
A gaping gash in his arm had drained him down to hell.
No one knew for sure if ambrose was his name.
They called him yankee sullivan in early days of fame.
Hed known the game of fisticuffs had always treated him right .
But no one knew the men who came and took his life that night
Hed spent some time in botany bay atoning for his sins.
He fought a bout with hammer lane and took a tainted win.
He was the hero of the bowery, a prince of lawless times.
Then was battered by the butcherman in 1849.
He knew the game of fisticuffs, he knew the game of might.
But no one knew the men who came and took his life one night.
He knew the game of fisticuffs.
Lilly and mccoy were shy of a hundred and forty pounds.
In 1842 they went a hundred and eighteen rounds.
They begged mccoy to cash it in, he said that he would not.
Got up and fought one more round then died right on the spot.
He knew the game of fisticuffs, he knew the game of fight.
But no one knew the game would come and take his life that night.
