Ch 02 The Morals Of Dervishes Story 04

A thief paid a visit to the house of a pious man but, although he sought a great deal, found nothing and was much grieved. The pious man, who knew this, threw the blanket upon which he had been sleeping into the way of the thief that he might not go away disappointed.

I heard that men of the way of God
Have not distressed the hearts of enemies.
How canst thou attain that dignity
Who quarrelest and wagest war against friends?

The friendship of pure men, whether in thy presence or absence, is not such as Will find fault behind thy back and is ready to die for thee before thy face.

In thy presence gentle like a lamb,
In thy absence like a man-devouring wolf.

Who brings the faults of another to thee and enumerates them Will undoubtedly carry thy faults to others.

John Ruskin

Do not think of your faults, still less of other's faults; look for what is good and strong, and try to imitate it. Your faults will drop off, like dead leaves, when their time comes.

Now We Find Too Much To See

The best condition I can condone,
Is to be done with 'us'.
And leave you alone.

No longer can I find understanding not there.
Or point out faults...
When my own are clearly there.

The best condition I can condone,
Is to be done with 'us'.
And leave you alone.

Neither one of us is perfect.
And I admit I know I'm not.
I'd rather quit than argue,
About who has been faithful.
Both of us have dipped and dabbed a lot.

No longer can I find understanding not there.
Or point out faults...
When my own are clearly there.

Remember when the love we had for each other,
Was blind?
Now we find too much to see.

The Crime of Being Me

On a brutal winter night
We stood bravely side by side
Against snowballs launched our way
By the enemies of our kind

In a graveyard’s mourning light
We both choked up, cried and cried
As the angels lifted him
On Death’s gloomy wings of flight

And you declared me dead, my brother
For the crime of being me
For all the faults I have
Well, I still cannot believe

And my only wish for you, my brother
Is someday you’ll understand
How it feels to be a corpse
Walking amongst your fellow man

In the haze of our carefree youth
We both wildly joked and joked
About wicked ironies
Of the enemies of Truth

Beside a pool so crystal blue
We both really hoped and hoped
That good luck would fill our lives
In everything we would pursue

But you declared me dead, my brother
For the crime of being me
For all the faults I have
Well, I still cannot believe

And my only wish for you, my brother
Is someday you’ ll understand
How it feels to be a corpse
Walking amongst your fellow man

And yet the pain has made me strong

I forgive you, you’re my brother

Feelings Of A Fiancee

A fiancee, longing for her lover
who had gone to a distant place to earn,
To come back and embrace her, feels as follows:

While I see him again
After longing for him to come to me,
I don't find his faults and mischief;

While I don't see him for some time,
I don't see nothing but his faults
And mischief!

Faults And All

(Carl Perkins)
Not so very long from now
She'll be known all over town
Cause she waits by her phone from in the car
She says the limit is the sky
And tonight she's flyin' high
But I'll hang around and take her faults and all
O' Yes she once was mine
Now she's changed and she's that kind
With a crowd she has her self a ball
But she's not that kind of girl
She's just hidin' from the world
But I'll hang around and take her faults and all
She's about as low as a girl can go
She ain't got far to fall
But when she hits the ground
I'm gonna be around
'Cause I want her most of all
And when all's been said and done
I'm gonna be the one
Who'll hang around and take her faults and all
Yeah I'll hang around and take her faults and all

Observe It and Believe

Release the tension in that grasp you have.
Let go and let God complete the task.
Just ask your spiritual guides to clear your path.
Material things you have wont last!
Don't be afraid,
If the importance of your past...
Seems to be fading fast.

A new day is dawning...
To remove all masks.
And reveal the light you hold within!
A fresh awareness upon us all begins.

Observe it and believe.
With faith you will witness your happiness increase.
Observe it and believe.
A higher conciousness comes for you to receive.
Observe it and believe.
All conflicts seen from you will leave.
Observe it and believe.
The energy within you,
Has given you breath to breathe.
Inhale and exhale.
Do this quietly.
Observe it and believe...
God wants to free you from all lies and deceit!
Observe it and believe,
He has come to comfort!
He has.
Let go and let God complete the task.

Don't be afraid,
If the importance of your past...
Seems to be fading fast.
Let go and let God complete the task,
To bring upon you everlasting happiness.
Observe it and believe.
Expect this and receive!

The Proof Is In The Pudding

What on Earth is going on with them over there?

'I was approached to give my opinion,
Concerning the world affairs.
And all I said was...
The proof is in the pudding.
The truth in it has been revealed.
And before I knew it,
That's what they began to do.
I'm sure the store owner is thrilled.'

But...
How is the dumping of pudding mixes,
Out into the street...
Connect to your comments made?

'Observe to witness this.
That's all I have to say.
It never ceases to amaze me,
How people re-act to what they hear.'

You don't think they took your figurative comments,
Literally...
Do you?

'Observe to witness this.
That's all I have to say.'

What do you think they are hoping to find?

'Something that reminds them of truth.
Or proof of it.
Who knows? '

I'm not going to say what they are doing is stupid.

'Don't even let that cross your mind.
Just observe it to witness.
The proof is in the pudding.'

Our Eyes

Have you seen
How quickly
Our eyes close
When they
See our own
Faults?

And how quickly
They pop out open
When they guzzle in
Others' faults?

Our eyes open
Wide and shut.
They are very
Choosy about
Our faults ;)
Being partial
Towards us,
But unsparing,
Towards others.

The Seeing Eye

The small dogs look at the big dogs;
They observe unwieldy dimensions
And curious imperfections of odor.
Here is the formal male group:
The young men look upon their seniors,
They consider the elderly mind
And observe its inexplicable correlations.

Said Tsin-Tsu:
It is only in small dogs and the young
That we find minute observation

Charlotte Bronte

It is not violence that best overcomes hate — nor vengeance that most certainly heals injury. … Read the New Testament, and observe what Christ says, and how he acts — make his word your rule, and his conduct your example. … Love your enemies; bless them that curse you; do good to them that hate you and despitefully use you.

Friends as enemies

No wonder
My defeats
Brought many
Friends To my home
They all pointed out
My mistakes
Found faults in my deeds
Advised me
What
I should have done
What
I should not have done
When every thing
Was going right
The same people
Applauded me
Praised me
For whatever I did
Tried to follow me
In whatever they did
I win or lose
So called friends
Are now exposed
I now know
You do not need
Enemies
When you have
Friends like these
