First day we stepped into a school was great-
In uniform with school-bag, looking cute!
We could not walk or run and had a slate;
We learnt to read and write and be not mute.

We ate so happily when school-bell rung;

Being bilingual
There is something
in being bilingual
and when I grew up
we were forced
to take both
official languages at school
being English and Afrikaans.
It was another thing
to be taught maths in English,
when your home language is Afrikaans
and where I was taught in Afrikaans
up till then,
at a school that was
supposed to be
double medium
and to really struggle
with unknown terms
and not being able to comprehend
and to this day
I despise Mrs. Ritchie
who thought that I was stupid
and without the teacher caring
or being able
to teach in Afrikaans
I struggled along
but at university
a professor teaching
Algebra and Calculus
really did care
and taught me well.

Life’s Cycle
A gasp of air was sent from above
and was carried further on the wings of a dove.
A gust of wind carried it on to its intended place

Either Run Or Duck
So much wanted that is wished,
Seems to come with required prerequisites.
Just to test one's desire.
Sometimes it feels as if,
There are more steps taken backward.
As that scent gets stronger to behold.
A twist of impatience glued in cement,
Angers.
Who hasn't experienced this to decide,
If it is easier to let go and be crazed?
And in these days we face,
Who would notice this as abnormal behavior?
Would you argue with anyone throwing a fit?
Either run or duck,
That would be my recommendation.
Confronting someone on a rage,
Is not conducive to a maintaining of one's health.
So much wanted that is wished,

Only until tears begin to drip does it appear,
