When the Australian Government looked at how to meet the challenges, and the opportunities, presented by our ageing population, it saw that an all-encompassing approach was a prerequisite.

Laws, wisely administered, will secure men in the enjoyment of the fruits of their labour, whether of mind or body, at a comparatively small personal sacrifice; but no laws, however stringent, can make the idle industrious, the thriftless provident, or the drunken sober. Such reforms can only be effected by means of individual action, economy, and self-denial; by better habits, rather than by greater rights. The Government of a nation itself is usually found to be but the reflex of the individuals composing it. The Government that is ahead of the people will inevitably be dragged down to their level, as the Government that is behind them will in the long run be dragged up. In the order of nature, the collective character of a nation will as surely find its befitting results in its law and government, as water finds its own level. The noble people will be nobly ruled, and the ignorant and corrupt ignobly. Indeed all experience serves to prove that the worth and strength of a State depend far less upon the form of its institutions than upon the character of its men. For the nation is only an aggregate of individual conditions, and civilization itself is but a question of the personal improvement of the men, women, and children of whom society is composed.

Actually, I have been very supportive of a very robust stimulus package from day one. I think this economy has to have a major stimulus initiative because the only group with liquidity is the federal government.

I am pleased to report that Texas is known for having one of the strongest set of open government laws in our Nation. And ever since that experience, I have long believed that our federal government could use 'a little Texas sunshine.'

There has always been quite a strong black and white art tradition in Australia, with quite a large contingent of cartoonists, given the size of the population.

We believe a renewed commitment to limited government will unshackle our economy and create millions of new jobs and opportunities for all people, of every background, to succeed and prosper. Under this approach, the spirit of initiative - not political clout - determines who succeeds.
Nothing is more important in the preservation of peace than to secure among the great mass of the people living under constitutional government a just conception of the rights which their nation has against others and of the duties their nation owes to others.

Be Prepared (Fun Poem 93)
Be prepared; be prepared,
that statement does not apply
to anyone in the British Government.
They are never prepared
except for grabbing taxes;
they are prepared for that, yes.
To keep the country running,
they are never prepared for that.
A couple of inches of snow
and they are running around like headless chickens
wondering just what to do.
They ignore the weather warnings
and end up with egg on their faces.
It is obvious they were never in the Boy Scouts.
Now the Scouts are always prepared.
They keep a condom in their wallet
in case any frisky Girl Guide should pass their way.
Unlike the British Government
who has to apologise for their lack of for-thought,
when they knew it would snow.

Australia
Opportunities are available in all walks of life in australia
So if youre young and if youre healthy
Why not get a boat and come to australia
Australia, the chance of a lifetime
Australia, you get what you work for
Nobody has to be any better than what they want to be
Australia, no class distinction
Australia, no drug addiction
Nobodys got a chip on their shoulder
Well surf like they do in the u.s.a.
Well fly down to sydney for our holiday
On sunny christmas day
Australia, australia
No one hesitates at life or beats around the bush in australia
So if youre young and if youre healthy
Why not get a boat and come to australia
Australia sha-la-la-la sha-la-la-la
Australia sha-la-la-la sha-la-la-la
Everyone walks around with a perpetual smile across their face
Australia sha-la-la-la sha-la-la-la
Australia sha-la-la-la sha-la-la-la
Everyone gets around and nobody can ever get you down
Well surf like they do in the u.s.a.
Well fly down to sydney for our holiday
On sunny christmas day
Australia, australia

Population explosion
We need more population
So no need to have atomic explosion
Why do we need tsunami and atomic radiation?
When there are enough hurdles for poverty alleviation
How will you interfere with God’s will?
When it will amount to criticism or religion’s kill
Who will make all the necessary propaganda?
When it is forgotten in our agenda
We are our own enemy
We need pray for it to almighty
We are not worried about population control
As it may bring our natural down fall
We have mastered the in burning grain
Rot them in open so as to be spoiled in rain
Why poor should get up to it?
Why should we remove their curse as glorious feat?
We will take all precautions not to do anything
Let population double and we be known for something
“Most populous country in world” to feel proud
Everything looks in order and economy looks very sound
We swallow not in million or billions
Let many corrupt are sent in jails or pavilions
We care for no sentiments or religions
We have strong alliance and firm allegiance
Poverty must stay in country as permanent feature
We must take all the relevant steps and assure
Let poor die of hunger and starvation
We will maintain harmony and relation
No one may raise even little finger
Public is looked upon as strangers
They come in picture only once in limited span
They have all the strategy to counter the plan
Let politicians fool no more
Let good people take over and explore
If tolerance is about cross its threshold
They will be wiped out once for all and loose the hold
We are duty bound and obey divine call
The bread and cloth must be provided to all
Let the strong warning be served on those violators
Who are responsible for crimes as instigators?

If you like small government you need to work hard at having a strong national defense that is not so militant. Personal liberty is the purpose of government, to protect liberty - not to run your personal life, not to run the economy, and not to pretend that we can tell the world how they ought to live.
