I spent a great deal of time with Che Guevara while I was in Havana. I believe he was far less a mercenary than he was a freedom fighter.

Freedom Fighter
You cant control me tell me what to do
Chained in mediocrity so I can be like you
I am not a statue not part of a machine
Im sick and tired of the whole routine
Calculate your future, computerise your past
Instant replay if its gone too fast
Take away my freedom, take away my home
Im only human but it might now show
Im not made of stone
Im a freedom fighter I got something to say
Im a freedom fighter get out of my way
Hide behind your politics, hide behind your rules
Tell me Im a man but you treat me like a fool
Its the same old story with a different name
You give us all a number and nothing changes
Out in the winter of a world upon its knees
Everyone is watching but no one sees
You cant take my freedom you know it is my right
If you try and stop me Im gonna fight
With all of my might
Im a freedom fighter and Im taking command
Im a freedom fighter and Im making a stand
Fighting for breath as the world gathers speed
Times running out for the things that I need
Im a freedom fighter I gotta take a stand
Im a freedom fighter, yeah thats what I am
Im a freedom fighter I cant take it no more
Im a freedom fighter no no more
Im a freedom fighter but Im not afraid
Im a freedom fighter get out of my way.

Havana Moon
Chant...
Me all alone
Jug of rum
Me stand and wait for the boat to come
Is lonely night is quiet the dark
The boat she late its 12 o clock
Me watches the tide easin in
Is low the moon and high the wind
Havana moon
Havana moon
Me all alone
Me open the rum
Is long the wait for the boat to come
American girl come back to me
Sail way across the sea
We dock in new york the buildings high
We find a home up in the sky
Havana moon...
Havana moon...
Me still alone me drinkin the rum
Begin to think that the boat no come
American girl she tell a lie
She say till then, but she mean goodbye
Havana moon...
Havana moon...
Me lay down alone, no good the rum
Me fall asleep and the boat she come
The girl she look till come the dawn
She weep and she cry
Return for home
The whistle blow me open my eyes
Bright the sun blue the sky
Me grab me shoes, me jump and me run
Me see the boat head for horizon
Havana moon is gone da rum
The boat she sail me love she gone
Havana moon...
Havana moon...

A freedom fighter
A respected man he is
A loved man he is
For his doings, for what he did
Yes he is a freedom fighter
He never stood and watched
He was part of them
Those who had hearts for the innocent people
But in the end he was a leader
He was the one who was punished
Punished for the wonderful things he did for the people
He did them with his power
Now he earn the people respect
They love him he’s their hero
He fought for them
He fought for people’s freedom
Yes he is our freedom fighter
He never gave up no matter what
They never got him down no matter what they did
He stayed away from home and family
Living in locked house for 27 years
Almost his man time in Roben Island
He is South Africa’s father
He is Africa’s father
He is the world’s father
He is every one’s father, a loved father
He is our freedom fighter

Im A Lover Not A Fighter
Well I met a pretty girl, as pretty as can be
I thought she was my baby till she introduced to me
A great big tall fella, about six foot tall
I shivered and I shook, couldnt do any more
cause Im a lover not a fighter
Yes, Im a lover not a fighter
Yes, Im a lover not a fighter
And Im really built for speed
Built for speed
Well, some people think Im lazy but theres one thing they dont know
cause when Im in the mood I can go caddy[? ] go
cause Im a lover not a fighter
Yes, Im a lover not a fighter
Yes, Im a lover not a fighter
And Im really built for speed
Built for speed
Built for speed
Whoa yeah
Well I can roar like a lion, I can sting like a bee
But some times I think, baby, Ive got rabbit blood in me
cause Im a lover not a fighter
Yes, Im a lover not a fighter
Yes, Im a lover not a fighter
And Im really built for speed
Built for speed
Built for speed
Whoa yeah

Mercenary Girl
Oh Mexico
All the time
Dreamin' all about Acapulco
And a sweet thing on my mind
Mogadishu sunrise
Low above the sea
All of those lawyers in California
Won't bring her back to me
Back to me
Back to me
Oh Mercenary Girl
Of all the lowdown places in the world
To be stuck inside of a phone booth
Hangin' on the end of a line
While this civil war keeps ragin' in my mind
Oh Mary Mary
I think you're fine
'Cause you can mix a margarita
From a bottle of turpentine
Just between noon and midnight
That's when the battle rages on
Mama I just gotta make one more call
And I'll be here with you all night long
All night long
All night long
Oh Mercenary Girl
Of all the lowdown places in the world
To be livin' in another city
Comin' from another time
I know it's a cold cruel world
But you're eyes look soft and kind
And this civil war keeps ragin' in my mind
Oh Mercenary Girl
Oh Mercenary Girl
Oh Mercenary Girl
Oh Mercenary Girl

Havana Gang Brawl
Well the cops are at the door
And you know that they want more
They've got spears, made for arms
Tried to lure you with their charms
You can hear the guns outside
Watching riots with their eyes
As you move from wall to wall
Hear the siren from the gang brawl
Line the locals one by one
Filling bullets with their guns
Are you red, or if you're blue
Cause tonight their gonna find the truth
Take no prisoners today
For the future will be laid
One big city, one big town
Everyone with the same crown
Havana Gang Brawl
Havana Gang Brawl
Havana Gang Brawl
Oh where will you sleep tonight?
Oh where will you sleep tonight?
A doomed old day for engagements
They have torn up your arrangements
All the mothers, buying razors
For the future will be dangerous
You try desperately to leave
But all the trains are dry for steam
All the taxis on their sides
All the planes are burning bright
Havana Gang Brawl
Havana Gang Brawl
Havana Gang Brawl
Oh where will you sleep tonight?
Oh where will you sleep tonight?
Only one option left
To survive or you'll be dead
Do you hide now from the sin
Or do your blazing guns begin?
All the shops are up for sale
You might make it out on bail
All the fathers shine today
Making sure that son's ok
Havana Gang Brawl
Havana Gang Brawl
Havana Gang Brawl
Oh where will you sleep tonight?
Oh where will you sleep tonight?
Oh where will you sleep tonight?
Oh where will you sleep tonight?

Freedom
What does freedom really mean?
My mother letting me make decisions,
That is freedom.
The ability to make my own passion,
That is freedom.
Smiling when I want to not someone else does,
That is freedom.
My own love for my family,
That is freedom.
Being able to have a great time without being pressured,
That is freedom.
Having a destiny that is up to me,
That is freedom.
Being able to sit in tranquility by myself,
That is freedom.
Standing for my country with liberty on my own will,
That is what freedom really is.

This Aint Havana
I had no advantage over you.
There was troubles and I had em too.
Just cause youre so stung out.
Dont mean it cant work out.
Ba-ba-banana, this aint havana.
Do you like bananas, ba-ba-bananas.
Say youre a victim of society.
You ask them for your mercy.
Just like the cats in the garbage cans.
Whens their time coming, man.
You better offer some resistance.
You better give up on my insistence.
Things happen overnight.
You dont give up without a fight.
Ba-ba-banana, this aint havana.
Do yo like bananas, ba-ba-bananas.
You say youre poor and uneducated.
You aint gotta chance cause youre hated.
Youre on your way to lifes promotion.
You hinder it with emotion.
Ba-ba-banana, this aint havana.
Do yo like bananas, ba-ba-bananas.

Havana Daydreamin
By: jimmy buffett
1975
Stashed his trash in ecuador
Bought a good suit of clothes
Flew on up to mexico
Standin by the shore
Waitin for some mystery man
To pay him for his time
But thinkin about all the money hed made
Couldnt help to ease his mind
Havana daydreamin
Boy hes just dreamin
His life away
His daddy chopped that sugar cane
One day he fell dead
Jesus had a wanderin feelin
Swimmin around in his head
Sailin on a midnight boat
There were no questions asked
The water so green and the air was so clean
He just stuck right to his task
Havana daydreamin
Boy hes just schemin
His life away
(instrumental)
Ceilin fan it stirs the air
Cigar smoke does swirl
The fragrance on the pillowcase
And he thinks about the girl
Spillin wine and sharin good times
She sure could make him smile
He pays her well but what the hell
Hell be movin in a little while
Havana daydreamin
Boy hes just dreamin
His life away
Havana daydreamin
Boy hell be dreamin
His life away

In Their Own Sick Minds
They plan the deaths of and murder people they do not even know
Which causes me for to wonder how this can be so
In their own sick minds they write their own laws
Is Humanity not considered in their political cause
They murder people guilty of only one crime
To be in the wrong place and there at the wrong time
When they call themselves freedom fighters they have got it all wrong
A freedom fighter to their group would not wish to belong
They hardly would know what freedom is about
And their very sanity one has to doubt
To live free of fear is a basic Human Right
And even of such a freedom they do gladly make light
Of and they are a disgrace to Humanity of them one can say
And to Karma for their crimes a huge price they must pay.

Universal Freedom Is......
Freedom from hunger and freedom from pain
freedom from loss and so freedom from gain.
Freedom to give and freedom to share
freedom from want and that of despair.
Freedom to think and freedom to know
freedom to achieve and freedom to grow.
Freedom from bondage and freedom of liberation
freedom from ignorance and any unknown situation.
Freedom to come and freedom to leave
freedom to stay and freedom to conceive.
Freedom from struggle and freedom of ease
freedom to enjoy and the capacity to please.
Freedom from failure and freedom of success
freedom from denial and freedom of access.
Freedom from illusion and freedom of reality
freedom to become what we are in actuality.
Freedom to live and freedom to die
freedom to laugh and freedom to cry.
Freedom to speak and freedom to listen
freedom to act based on a wise decision.
Freedom from hate and freedom of love
freedom of below and freedom of above.
Freedom of the past and freedom of the present
freedom of the future and what it can represent.
Freedom from war and freedom of peace
freedom to begin and freedom to cease.
Freedom from sickness and freedom of health
freedom from poverty and mishandled wealth.
Freedom from wrong and freedom being right
freedom of the day and freedom of the night.
Freedom to choose and freedom to reject
freedom to imagine what there is to expect.
Freedom from lust and freedom from greed
freedom from anger and freedom from breed.
Freedom from jealousy and freedom from pride
freedom from within and freedom from outside.
Freedom of always not having anything to hide.
Freedom from space and also freedom from time
freedom from attachment and freedom from crime
Freedom to work and freedom to play
freedom to believe and freedom to pray.
Freedom to experience a rebirth someday.
Freedom from the body and freedom from the mind
freedom from the ego and freedom from being blind.
Freedom of transcendence being of the spiritual kind.
Universal freedom is eternal and infinite bliss
we should all therefore be able to realise this.

Boye
My little Havana,
Let my artistic encounters ginger you up;
For i am swimming in this water of love again,
And i need you beside me.
Yes, no retreat and no surrender!
But be my coach on this love;
For you are very merciful to my heart.
My name is Boye and i love you,
Oh my little Havana come to me;
For i will lie down low and sleep in peace with you.
