Challenges
We all face challenges in this life, even those who follow Jesus Christ,
So all challenges we must address, through our God's Righteousness,
Many challenges are from this world, but God's Truths we must herald,
Always in God's light and His ways, in these present challenging days.
Many may struggle with their identity; just who and what they are to be,
But, God's the One, who helps us be, that individual we are, as we see,
Living Truths in God's Word we read, this as we allow The Lord to lead,
Through God's Holy Spirit, within, that all our identity, comes from Him.
One challenge for many is Authority, men desiring to plan their destiny,
Not wanting to submit in their life, to the plan and ways of Jesus Christ,
But, in this life men cannot afford, to oppose the Authority of The Lord,
As our Lord has authority over all, nations and men, both big and small.
Another challenge; worldly influence, for those lacking Godly prudence,
With many lacking Godly discretion, taking instead, the wrong direction,
Then they live opposing God's Truth, only to experience God's reproof,
While some who do stray will learn, then back to God's way, they return.
As we grow to know God personally, with The Lord, we find our identity,
To Christ's Authority, we then submit, to live out our life as God sees fit,
So we're influenced by God's Word, living out those Truths we've heard,
While we purpose in this temporal life, to live for The Lord, Jesus Christ.

We all come to experience 'our' truths.
We all come to experience,
Realities lived others may not accept.
Or come to believe,
If they are not there to witness.
Or see as they sit to observe life pass by,
From a closed window and behind locked doors.
We all experience our own sorrows...
With burdens to bear and struggles to conquer.
And yet there will be some among the 'doubters'...
Who believe nothing happens to anyone but themselves.
And when they experience a pinch of pain to feel,
It becomes worthy of a news broadcast...
To appeal with the getting of attention on their griefs.
We all come to experience 'our' truths.
We all come to experience,
Realities lived others may not accept.
Or come to believe,
If they are not there to witness.
And yet...

When He Talked About Love It Was Almost Midnight
when he began to talk about love
(but to me it was mostly lust)
it was past midnight and i was already sleepy
(or was it drowsy)
for i could not believe every story that he was relating to me
it was something miserable
(and perhaps too unbelievable
why all the pain? where could happiness and her myths be?)
but
out of civility i pretended to listen
for deep within me the man in him is crying
begging to be listened too even for the last hours of the night
then he was asking some more
beyond what i could possibly give him
(i was thinking of someone else more deserving
love as higher than pity
empathy as more noble than sympathy)
and then i decided to cut short where the sobbing is
(i expected more than that
perhaps
the silence would have served us better
and the pauses like a comma between two long sentences
perhaps respect for feelings and then
i finally cut short where he was wanting more
i still have tomorrow to take care of
more things to do of equal importance
like love, family, society, public welfare,
like morality and decency
and obedience to authority
like religion and faith and
order and law and justice and tranquility
of the human mind.
