In a Township of Asia Minor

The news about the outcome of the sea-battle at Actium
was of course unexpected.
But there's no need for us to draft a new proclamation.
The name's the only thing that has to be changed.
There, in the concluding lines, instead of: "Having freed the Romans
from Octavius, that disaster,
that parody of a Caesar,"
we'll substitute: "Having freed the Romans
from Antony, that disaster,..."
The whole text fits very nicely.

prodigious in his political operations,
on whose behalf the township ardently wished
for Antony's triumph,..."
here, as we said, the substitution: "for Octavius Caesar's triumph,
regarding it as Zeus' finest gift—

and whose exploits should be recorded at length

A Woman’s Jacket

She thought that I
Was a simple servant
To hang a woman’s jacket
When she enters a room,
To remain downcast
Despite the aroma of her perfume.

I had no desire to undeceive her;
I happened to be there
To visit her husband,
A friend from a former life,
But once I saw his wife,
I had no intentions
To become reacquainted with him.

I gazed at the splendor of her hair,
The majesty of her shoulders,
The elegant way she walked.

I then took her perfumed jacket
Like an obliging servant
And swiftly slipped out of the house
With that jacket and my lovely thoughts.

Perhaps, in a few more years,

A little word called crazy!

A little word called crazy
Which people use when they are being lazy.
The word crazy covers a multi of goods and ills
Mad, bad, sad, cool
or even acting the fool.
It’s used in our everyday language
But it’s often misunderstood
But it fits into sentences so well (and so good)
Sometimes you can’t seem to see the origins for this word
it sounds so absurd the way its used and abused
like crazy baby, crazy sin, a crazy outer and a crazy in!
Crazy actually means mad insane or foolish
so says the dictionary
but you can be crazy in love with someone
perhaps we are all crazy to be using this word
maybe it’s so absurd that you can use it in so many ways
in everyday life.
But the English language is good like that!
