It is quite possible we may have formed entirely erroneous ideas of what we actually see. The greenish gray patches may not be seas at all, nor the ruddy continents, solid land. Neither may the obscuring patches be clouds of vapor.

Patches The Great
BEHOLD
AND BOW!
The greatness
of her majesty
Patches The Cat
She has terrorized couches
only to sharpen her claws
and conquered basements
when her litter box
was over populated
All have fell
under the charm
of her soft white fur
No one can resist the
enticing feel
And in the event
one should resist
a roaring demand
she will squeal
O Patches!
How you rule this kingdom
through your hedonism
You never lift a paw
You give command
by just laying around
Your bowl
should never be empty
and always be filled
with the best flavors in town
But if you should find
your bowl to be empty
(a tragic event)
O! The wrath
on our dinner plates
you will bestow
I am not her master
you see
I am her humble servant
O how I take pride
in the service
of serving

Phyllis's Age
How old may Phyllis be, you ask,
Whose beauty thus all hearts engages?
To answer is no easy task;
For she has really two ages.
Stiff in brocard, and pinch'd in stays,
Her patches, paint, and jewels on;
All day let envy view her face;
And Phyllis is but twenty-one.
Paint, patches, jewels laid aside,
At night astronomers agree,
The evening has the day belied;
And Phyllis is some forty-three.

In Mindanao
no one likes violence and everyone wish
an end
to everything violent
to stop the sound of guns
to let the children have the soundest sleep
this war
about land and religion, this must end
we just want to get over these
and over with
why must we quarrel over some patches of this land
when it does not even remember us?

An Inky Octopus Gripping Evil
evil never sleeps
evil owns the night
evil owns the day
evil walks day proud
owning many properties
wall street stock options
evil owns the night
owns secrets in the night
owns secrets sold by night
in many purchased places
evil has its patch
evil has many patches
an evil patch for every trade
evil buries innocence with a spade
an evil patch may be but
a few fought over city blocks
syndicated global patches
are octopus evil tentacles
some evil patches
are bigger spread
than many countries
evil marries drugs
makes mega money
addicts inject honey
drug withdrawal cold turkey
evil error terminates abruptly

Overload Sugar Rush
Candy coated apples
Chocolate ice cream with just a bit of sprinkles
Tangy mike and Ike
Skittle flavored milkshakes with cherries on top
Gingerbread cookies with a strike of milk
Watery lemonade
Cupcakes of wonder
Twisted vines of vanilla extract
Banana cream pie with whip cream on top
Just the perfect life full of innocence
Sour patches running through the veins of angel cake
Dry gumdrops running the chocolate wafers
A Fein for the extra sugar planted down the roots which she dare not goes
The black roses that stood from the berry rush
Just a strawberry ruining the veins of innocence
The black licorice is was just so irresistible wanting to try it
But too afraid for it gives you addiction to the darkness
The rotten sweetness of a teenage girl
A strawberry to a blackberry
Consideration and a fan of sweet suicide
Vitamin pills that scream “eat me I’m death! ! ! ”
Tempting to do it, she asks for a peck of beauty to awaken
No savior from the ugliness of the sour patches
She cries watery fruit punch that gives diabetes
She shall never have candy coated apples again they all say
But she smiles hours later because she realizes
She isn’t the only one who lost her sweetness
Because she looks at me as a role model
Because I myself have sour patches too
And we all who have lost our sweetness to the evil sour patches
Shall stand together holding hands fighting it as one
We will shoot those sour patches with fireballs of sweetness
And we shall laugh as they fall
Don’t shed a tear girl
Because we are sour patches hoping to become sweet again
And candy coated apples we shall be someday! ! ! ! ! !

When Terra Firma Earthquake Volcano Tsunami Erupts
Earth terra firma safe solid earth under your feet
the Latin phrase terra earth, firma solid, reminds
dry land mass are all safe solid earth beneath feet
continents islands are solid land mass on earth’s surface
but land is not immovable affixed to one solid spot land
is a mobile surface divided into moving tectonic plates
plate boundaries mobile move at relative rates as plates
move against each other enormous pressure builds
up must be released through earth movement the result
natural hazard events earthquake volcano tsunami erupt

Countryside
Patches of dark grey clouds
and streaks of white clouds
on the greenish brown hills
blocking the daylight;
The water-filled paddy fields
the swaying of the coconut tree leaves
the raindrops on mustard flowers;
some black and white coloured
cows tied under a tree
and a herd of mooing cows heading home;
The smiles of children playing in
rain puddles, various coloured
umbrellas scattered from
here to there, people rushing
to their homes, a small
temple sheltering all;
The cool breeze, the droplets of
water on every face,
the smell of damp brown-earth
made the time stand still.
I paused and resumed
my journey of life.

Reveries of an Imaginary Landscape No.12 - Morning with Water
White mist
hiding the brownish patches of trees
looking upward the canopy scrumptious, vivacious
The air
cold at first
fresh, invigorating
Cool red earth
pitted and smooth, damp and vibrant
silky red flowers and burgeoning patches of green and blue
The sun
blasting, rippling through the canopy
bright dancing shadows on the red, red earth
Running water
clear, warm, from a steamy spring
shiny droplets dripping

Green
Green leaves of summer
Shades of green in moss and
Lichens sticking to stones and tree
Barks and some greens on twigs
And branches, some greenish
Patches growing on pavements
And even on walls and fences,
Some greens in mangoes and
Rainbows, some greens in shirts
And eyeshades of a woman,
But what I want to really say
Is the green in your eyes,
So green with envy, and now
Turning red to unreasonable anger,
How can you ever change?

A slash of Blue
204
A slash of Blue—
A sweep of Gray—
Some scarlet patches on the way,
Compose an Evening Sky—
A little purple—slipped between—
Some Ruby Trousers hurried on—
A Wave of Gold—
A Bank of Day—
This just makes out the Morning Sky.

A day for....
An unsewn day rises from yesterdays dust
it's a new day to darn
a choice of many colors
Empty canvas
Or blank sheet
Awaits your brilliant mastery
What would love look like?
A blanket made of patches
A etching
Made eternal on stone or glass
Oh and lace
With its many holes..
Shapes of ovals
squares and hearts
cressent moons and stars
Or the beauty of nature
Streams, forests
Wind carved stones of sand
Rainbows formed from sun and mist of rain.
What would be in your heart?
As you watch the horizon..
The sky changes from dark
to blue and other hue
Red, orange and bettween
And twisted clouds with weightless flab.
And the blue of tomorrow
Awaits...
As it goes through....
The needle's eye.

In the Speed of Time
Again the sun painted the sky blue, orange, gray;
Then through the castles of clouds a full moon shines,
With every earth’s breath let the wind chimes play,
While the birds dwell in their leafy shrines,
Below the horizon in the heat of this long thirsty summer,
Golden-green hays crept to the dawn of autumn,
While the big appetite of gnawing mammals kept waiting,
The chill of winter came in the very speed of time.
As each sunrise unveils the snow-covered mountains,
Patches of snow pursed in to icy-pocket of the river,
While the scents of wild flowers perfume the atmosphere,
The choir of birds now welcome the birth of spring.

Rainbow Of Clouds
(09/27/11)
Oh! How I love to look at the sky
So many colors that attract the eye.
Blues, grey s , reds, and oranges too
Create such a perfect view.
Especially at dusk or dawn
When new colors are born.
Or when the white clouds look like
Snow covered mountain tops
And the rippling waves that it creates
Puts you at a restful state.
What about the patches of blue
In between the oranges and grey s
And your heart wishing that they would stay.
The skies can create such a therapeutic state
On which so many of us can relate.
Putting our minds and bodies at such ease
Like the feel of a soft gentle breeze.
It also has its black clouds
Covering its face like a shroud.
These dark clouds tend to hide the day
And you never know what will come your way.
But Even the darkest of clouds can bring joy.
The rains that the dark clouds bring
Gives life to everything.

Facing The Frost
People, around me, are confidently striding,
While I worry about slipping and sliding.
Where it is clear, my confidence grows,
But where it is icy, my pace, again, slows.
People are walking, looking fairly relaxed;
While I walk, head down, watching my tracks.
I approach an icy patch, and pull a funny face,
As, once again, I find I have to slow my pace.
I see some children on their way to school;
With walking on ice, they seem pretty cool.
From the looks on their faces, it is very clear,
That, unlike me, they do not hold any fear.
Where I am able, I walk along on the grass,
So that icy patches, on the pavement, I pass.
At times, I have no choice, but to face the ice;
With the threat of potential injury, I now dice.
My face is a picture of concern and worry;
With the ice around, I feel unable to hurry.
My journey to work seems to take forever.
Needless to say, I’m not a fan of this weather.
It is a cold and sunny morn, but by midday,
Some patches of ice have begun to melt away.
The top temperature today is only four degrees;
It’s been forecast that tonight it will, again, freeze.
Upon the frozen ground, where shadows fall,
The frost appears not to have melted at all.
The shady side of the street is still ice white,
While the sunny side, is now clear and bright.
Come afternoon, some patches of ice are still there;
Shrouded in shadow; untouched by the sun’s glare
The day grows older and night time draws near;
The time when Jack Frost, once again, will appear.
