It is wrong to try to avoid the struggle against imperialism under the pretext that independence and revolution are important, but that peace is still more precious.

Independance Day
Well she seemed all right by dawn's early light though she looked a
little
worried and weak. She tried to pretend he wasn't drinking again but
daddy
left the proof on her cheek. and I was only eight years old that summer
and I always seemed to be in the way so I took myself don to the fair in
town on independence day.
Well word gets around in a small, small town they said he was a dangerous
man. But momma was proud and she stood her ground, she knew she was on
the
losing end. Some folks whispered some folks talked but everybody looked
the other way and when time ran out there was no one about on
Independence
Day.
Chorus:
Let freedom ring, let the white dove sing. Let the whole world know that
today is a day of reckoning. Let the weak be strong let the right be
wrong
Roll the stone away, let the guilty pay it's independence day.
Well she lit up the sky that 4th of July by the time that the firemen
had
come. they just put out the flames and took down some names and sent me
to
the county home. Now I ain't saying that it's right or it's wrong but
maybe it's the only way Talk about your revolution, It's independence
Day
Repeat Chorus
Roll the stone away, It's Independence day.

Human Beings
Uncle Dan said
'now listen
There's right and there's wrong
and there two kinds of people:
those that can't be trusted to be right
and those that cannot be trusted with being wrong.
Take out the microscope and lets' see
what that person does when they
have you in the wrong.
If they treat you like you ain't' human
anymore
then that is the face of evil.
I worry more about those who
think they's absolutely right tho
than those that know's they's wrong.
Find out who is convinced they's
absolutely right about anything
and run the other way
that is a dangerous woman,
or man.
Now if you find a person who
sees that you is wrong and
don't judge.
That is a human being.
that includes you judging others
too.
Avoid people trying to prove
they is right
sure sign that they is wrong.
Avoid the person constantly
talking about how they have
been wronged
just means they are waiting their
change to get even on somebody
anybody
anybody close will do.
Talk to people who say
I may be right or I may be wrong
but proving right or wrong is not important
only how you treat people and yourself
inside
is important.
Leave the rest.

Never Never Love
La-la-la-la-la,
La-la-la-la-la la-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la-la la-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la-la la-la-la-la-la,
La-la-la-la-la
So now weve got our independence ooh,
What are we gonna do with it
Learning to play different games
Already using different names
cause now our love bears no resemblance ooh,
To what we had before
When our love was good it was all that we saw
When our love was good it blinded us before
This real revolution baby
Where youre not below me anymore
Never never love
Can never be enough
Never be enough,
Just aint good enough,
Yeah never never love
Can never be enough now
Never be enough, oh no
So now weve got our independence ooh,
What are we gonna with it
Building the houses, claiming back the land
Burning the bridges, cleaning up your hands
cause now our love bears no resemblance ooh,
To what we had before
Now our love has something for the future
Now our love will grow the seeds to sow this real revolution
This good revolution baby
Where youre not below me anymore
Never never love will never be enough
Could never be enough,
Just aint good enough,
Yeah never never
Love will never be enough
Never be enough, oh no no no
La-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la-la
La-la-la-la-la, la-la-la-la-la
When our love is good we have something for the future
Now our love will grow the seeds to sow this real revolution
This good revolution baby where youre not below me anymore
(real revolution, yeah) oh yeah, oh no no no no no,
Its a (real revolution) so good oh no no no no no
(real revolution, yeah) so real, this revolution now
(real revolution) so real, this revolution now, oh no no no so real, so real oh no no no

If it were necessary to give the briefest possible definition of imperialism, we should have to say that imperialism is the monopoly stage of capitalism.

A Humble letter to the Queen
Honored Madam,
I take this opportunity to wish you a happy birth day as I saw in the BBC the celebrations,
Oh! What a lovely pageant.
My blessings, you may long-lived!
Sri Lanka is once a colony under your kingdom.
Thank God we got independence.
But Madam you left your precious friend in our tiny country
And his name is ' Divide & Rule' a real gentleman.
One day some innocents died of a bomb explosion
But your precious BBC showed only the empty bus.
I think some defect to their cameras?
This ethnic cleansing is a by-product of your factory 'The Imperialism'.
Never mind Madam we can forget the past as we are Sri Lankan.
But I humbly request a favor Madam,
if possible could you please minimize?
You're prominent BBC's (Prima Donna) partial yelp!
Thanking you in anticipation of a kind and a favorable reply.
I remain Madam,
Yours most obediently,
A scribbler,
Nimal Dunuhinga
I dedicate this poem to Miss or Mrs. Dumeetha.Luthra (BBC correspondent in Sri Lanka) for your prominent double standard.

Nihility
Dust to dust the soul,
moves in a confined circle
to preserve a death.
The struggle of a truth to find,
the space between the fact and fiction.
Time comes to breathe in nihility,
questioning the infidelity of violence.
I do not want to avoid the revolution within
let me use the knife to cut,
the moments into filaments of sparks.
I wanted to restrain myself,
from committing the act of accepting the pain.
The first truth remains the last truth.
Winds of change cannot erase it.
Right side of knowledge,
and wrong side of fact were always in conflict.
The sweet-smelling mask was baffled,
crippling the mind.
I craved only nothingness.

The period that I could consider the most important in my literary work came about beginning with the Revolution, and in a certain way, developed as a consequence of the Revolution. But it was also a result of the counterrevolutionary coup of November 1975.

Hope For Peace
There is hope for peace,
Even though it seems to look slim.
There is hope for peace,
If your trust and faith are not dim.
Though hopelessness may surround you,
The mighty struggle will always be there,
But with the perseverance of the advocates,
They will guide and encourage you with care.
Just when you thought peace was futile
And lost faith and confidence in everything,
The vociferous peace seekers are beside you -
Messages of peace and harmony they bring,
And you'll know assurance and the saga of peace,
For the determined struggle will never depart,
And the driving force will not lie dormant,
Always striving for peace and doing your part.

Love Revolution
This is gettin old baby
Time for a real change
Time to turn our whole world around
cause I been getting restless now
Wondering whats up between you and me
Is gettin me down
Weve been hangin on for far too long
Somehow everything went wrong
Were in a place we dont belong anymore
You know that its true baby
So Ill see you around
Just walk away until you can make
A love revolution (love revolution)
And come back to me
Just do whatever it takes
Whatever you need to make
A love revolution (love revolution)
For you baby, for me baby
I said love, love revolution
I said love, love revolution
Hey Im not afraid to change
Inside and out baby
With or without you by my side
Its time to scream and shout
Let all these feelings out
Find out whats happening inside
Take away the borders inside your head
And youll see other things instead
Realize the life weve led is all over now
You know that its true baby
So Ill see you around
Just walk away until you can make
A love revolution (love revolution)
And come back to me
Just do whatever it takes
Whatever you need to make
A love revolution (love revolution)
For you baby, for me baby
I said love, love revolution
I said love, love revolution
If were gonna turn the world around
Its time that we get down to it
If were gonna turn the world around
Its time that we get down to it
Now I know that theres another way
And Im not waiting one more day
To make love revolution
For you baby, for me baby
And I wanna be around
When your walls come tumbling down
In a love revolution
A love revolution
Love revolution

Whom to avoid in love?
Love those
Who want only love,
In the name of love, never want the rest.
Avoid those
Who love but in the name of love
Want the rest.
Avoid those
Who love but In the name of love
Play the tricks and want to win the game.
Avoid those
Who love but like a drunken man
As life isn't more important than wine.
Avoid those
Who love but for passion and lust
They will leave you when all these die fast

Heresy
Words by neil peart, music by geddy lee and alex lifeson
All around that dull gray world
From moscow to berlin
People storm the barricades
Walls go tumbling in
The counter-revolution
People smiling through their tears
Who can give them back their lives
And all those wasted years?
All those precious wasted years --
Who will pay?
All around that dull gray world
Of ideology
People storm the marketplace
And buy up fantasy
The counter-revolution
At the counter of a store
People buy the things they want
And borrow for a little more
All those wasted years
All those precious wasted years
Who will pay?
Do we have to be forgiving at last?
What else can we do?
Do we have to say goodbye to the past?
Yes I guess we do
All around this great big world
All the crap we had to take
Bombs and basement fallout shelters
All our lives at stake
The bloody revolution
All the warheads in its wake
All the fear and suffering
All a big mistake
All those wasted years
All those precious wasted years
Who will pay?

Happy Independence Day
Blow up them firecrackers.
Light up the sky.
Because it's Happy Independence Day.
I've been meaning to say..
Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy, Happ..
Happy Independence Day, Happy Independence Day.
Happy Independence Day.Happy Independence Day.
Sparklers glowing.Stars and stripes showing.
Nothing but happy people.Celebrating the Fourth Of July.
The birth of our country. The birth of our flag.
Because our founding fathers.Always wanted it this way.
Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy, Happ..
Happy Independence Day.Happy Independence Day.
Happy Independence Day.Happy Independence Day.
Fifty stars and thirteen stripes.
The flag still flies. The American way.
Old Glory's the name.Old Glory's the same.
Join with the crowd, for the American dream.
So blow up them firecrackers.
Light up the sky.
Because it's Happy Independence Day.
I've been meaning to say.
Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy, Happy, Happ..
Happy Independence Day.Happy Independence Day.
Happy Independence Day.Happy Independence Day.

Change of life style
The revolution teaches
Change of life style
In a revolution one must
Be a Victor not martyr
In a revolution one must
Take the people with him
In a revolution there must
Be a triumphof good
Over evil.

Giving Peace A Chance (2008 version)
I keep reading about, little ones dying, parents crying, politicians lying, generals denying, their truth, I’m not buying
It’s never too late to Give Peace A Chance
I’m sick of reading about, free elections, UN inspection, man’s imperfections, the wrong directions, it’s time for reflection.
All I am Asking is Give Peace A Chance
The world is full of man’s inhumanity, A presidents animosity, talking about equality, respect their dignity, all we want is honesty.
I won’t stop asking to Give Peace A Chance
I’m tired of hearing about the neverending constitutions, that should be in the institutions, speaking of more devolution, The church’s stance on evolution, do we need a revolution? ?
I’ll keep on asking you to Give Peace A Chance.
I’m sick of reading about your phoney war, I’ve said this before, I don’t want to bore, I need to be sure, what are we fighting for?
Just keep on asking do Give Peace A Chance
Western Leaders telling us to be strong, where do we belong, this war is all wrong, I can’t just go along, it’s gone on too long
All I am asking is Give Peace A Chance
