Beware Purchase Price Wisdom

‘may time on this earth add to your wisdom'
think is wisdom what you earnestly wish to attain
wisdom is so often born of hardship adversity

Life Is Changing

In life everything changes
Winter changes to Spring
Spring changes to Summer
Summer changes to Fall
Fall changes back into Winter
The green grass dies for winter
and grows back in Summer
If there is no struggle there is no progress
if there is no hardship there is no happiness
you can never be through changing
for when you are done changing
you are done living

THE Pine

Shaft of beauty towering heavenly high
Dropping fragrances on passers by
Swaying in the Autumn breeze
The tall majestic pine trees
Shedding it's cones to the ground
Swaddled in needles all around
Fragrant and green in the snow
Ancient trees how tall they grow
Cooling dark green pines orth
Evergreen needles reaching forth
Like a sentry standing saluting the sky
Raising up through the clouds so high
Summer and winter under boughs spread
Snows of centuries have crowned your head
The fragrance of virtue of the pine
Rises to the heavens so sublime.

Orth - Straight.

If You Feed It Good

If you feed it good...
It stays fresh.
It stays the best,
One can get!
Yes.
And,
If you feed it good...
It stays fresh.
It stays the best,
One can get!
Yes,
Feed it good...
And it stays fresh.
It stays the best,
One can get!

I'm not gonna mock you anymore,
'Cause you're good to me.
You don't have to knock,
On that unlocked door.
No more...
I'll rock your needs

When we get it heated! .

Now,
If you feed it good...
It stays fresh.
It stays the best,
One can get!
Yes,
Feed it good...
It stays fresh.
It stays the best,
One can get!
Yes,
Just feed it good...
And it stays fresh.
It stays the best,
One can get!

Don't shout or scream,
To be mean and demean.
I'm not your enemy.
Nor do I owe a thing....
To ya!

You can pout with a frown,
Thinking it will bring me down.
To be around...
For your clown count!
To the ground.

But,
If you feed it good...
It stays fresh.
It stays the best,
One can get!
Yes,
Feed it real good...
It stays fresh.
It stays the best,
One can get!
Just,
Feed it good...
And it stays fresh.
It stays the best,
One can get!

Keep that in your head,
And let it feed real good!
Like it should.
Feed it good.
Keep that in your head,
And let it feed real good!
Like it should.
Feed it good.

Yes,
Feed it real good...
It stays fresh.
It stays the best,
One can get!
And,
Keep that in your head,
And let it feed real good!

May Morning

Deep into spring, winter is hanging on. Bitter and skillful in his hopelessness, he stays alive in every shady place, starving along the Mediterranean: angry to see the glittering sea-pale boulder alive with lizards green as Judas leaves. Winter is hanging on. He still believes. He tries to catch a lizard by the shoulder. One olive tree below Grottaglie welcomes the winter into noontime shade, and talks as softly as Pythagoras. Be still, be patient, I can hear him say, cradling in his arms the wounded head, letting the sunlight touch the savage face.

A Winter Message

A flake of snow in flurry thro’ the air
Had landed as a kiss upon my cheek:
A secret message, just for me to share;
To take to heart but never dare to speak
About or presuppose to other eyes
Your open feelings – distant though they are.
And so, upon your lips, my OWN surprise:
A flake of snow returned from me afar.

Emotion is wheels

The desired are left; the desire stays.
The ignored are got; the ignoring stays.
The loved are missed; the love remains.
The hated are nowhere; the hate remains.
Curiosity and boredom take shifts.
When wisdom dawns, the life downs.

On This The Third Day Of Winter

On this the third day of Winter the sun it brightly shine
And the yellow tailed black cockatoos on the monterey pine
Grasp the pine cones with their powerful claws and shred them for the seed
And dropp the shredded cones to earth when they have had their feed.

On this the third day of Winter the white backed magpie sing
From branch high on the stringybark his flute like music ring
And on the lush grasses by the pond the dappled wood duck graze
Whilst others of their kin their feathers preen and in the sunshine laze.

On this the third day of Winter the butcherbird's song I hear
And did I not know what time of year it was I'd swear that Spring was here
Two days back the chilly gales blew fierce and the rain came lashing down
And now the sun is shining bright on the paddocks by the Town.

On this the third day of Winter the sun shines in clear sky
And myna with the scratchy song is singing as he fly
And a few days back it rained all day and the gums soughed in the wind
But as Shakespeare once wrote 'If Winter comes can Spring be far behind'

Late Winter

This Winter came so late,
It hasn't even come,
The warmth still remains,
From late Autumn,
At thirteen it stays,
No frost, wind or coldness,
No shrill in the voices of men,
As they stare into the oncoming snow,
The breeze and quality ice,
Nothing... nothing at all...

It doesn't feel like Winter,
It feels like Late Winter,
That the control panel,
For Winter has been overridden,
Taken over, not knowing when,
How, or even why to start,
Journal burnt in Autumn,
Crisp, warm weather,
Nothing remains,
No snow walks, evenings by the fire,
Staying away from the cold,
So warm...

Please, Late Winter,
Arrive, we're waiting,
So real Winter can begin,
At full speed, steaming ahead,
Faster than the world can take it,
Late Winter... arrive...

On This Day

On this day we search for you,
On it there stays a message for all.
I challenge the ones who stay
To a duel for the wise-at-heart.
There is wisdom when one speaks
And foolishness never lingers.
There is a night of splendour
When wisdom is exhibited for all.
The daily outrages committed will be denied,
Fearing these events is not for all.

In A Northern Wood

FRAGRANT are the cedar-boughs stretching green and level,
Feasting-halls where waxwings flit at their spicy revel,
But O the pine, the questing pine, that flings its arms on high
To search the secret of the sun and escalade the sky!
Rueful hemlocks, gaunt and old, with boughs a-droop, despairing,
Clutch for touch of mother-earth; the while the pine is daring
To rock the stars amid its cones and lull them with its croon,
And snare the silver eagle that is nested in the moon.

Aspenglow

This song appears on four albums, and was first released on the take me to tomorrow album, and has also been released on the the rocky mountain collection and the country roads collection albums
Ther version appears on the rocky mountain christmas album.
See the sunlight through the pine
Taste the warm of winter wine
Dream of softly falling snow
Winter snow aspenglow
As the winter days unfold
Hearts grow warmer with the cold
Peace of mind is all you know
Winter snow aspenglow
Aspen is a life to live
See how much there is to give
See how strongly you believe
See how much you may receive
Smiling faces all around
Laughter is the only sound
Memories that cant grow old
Winter snow aspenglow
Aspen is a life to live
See how much there is to give
See how strongly you believe
See how much you may receive
See the sunlight through the pine
Taste the warm of winter wine
Dream of softly falling snow
Winter snow aspenglow

The View Outside My Window

The view outside my window
Never stays the same
The picture is always changing
From dawn to dusk
And as each season come to call
Winter, spring, summer and fall

Winter with its blanket of white
That covers every living thing
Icicles sparkle like jewels under a cold days sun
Spring sees a sea of green
And with it new life begins to stir
From every living thing

Summer captivates with colours
The flying things are back
Flitting from flower to flower like a fickle lover
Then the autumn comes to call
Colours fade and die to dusky brown
The harvest begins in earnest
Bountiful food supply snapped up by hungry mouths

Before the chills of winter
Again begin to call.

0103 These late autumn days

these late autumn days
leaves fall like poems
green as new thoughts
yellow as wisdom
red as late summer love
brown as old speech
dry as the past

these late autumn days
old poets
look out at coming winter snowclouds
but hope like trees might hope, unknowing,
for a miracle of rebirth
beyond their dry boughs' reach
of words

new buds
green as
new songs

Winter Is Gone

Winter is gone
And the leaves are green
Winter is gone
And the leaves turn green
Your innocent face
So you never had seen
Come on, my love
And pay the world
Come on, my love
And pay the world
You cheated me
But i wish you well
Rope is bought
And the bough is swung
Rope is bought
And the bough is swung
An innocent man
This day will be hung
Come on, my love
And see me die
Come on, my love
And see me die
See me dancing
Dance beneath the sky
'neath those gallows high
Come on and see me die
Winter is gone
And the leaves are green
Winter is gone
And the leaves turn green
Your innocent face
So i wish i'd never had seen

Wishes Of A Lonely Shell

i am
a shell
at the sea shore,
pick me up,
because, i am dreaming
sleeping here in the sand.

many have trampled,
and tortured me
hardship has been my life
all is left is pain.
yes, i am a seasoned shell!

yet,
when the moonbeams
are on the pine trees
the sea will smile in glee
the sea will merge
its smile with me
and i, a part
of the grand sea.
