The Young Women's Christian Association is nourished by its roots in Christianity and, at the same time, over the years, it's been enriched by beliefs and values from all kinds of places, even, in fact, strengthened by our diversity.

If your family doesn't have much money, I want you to remember that in this country, plenty of folks, including me and my husband — we started out with very little. But with a lot of hard work and a good education, anything is possible — even becoming President. That's what the American Dream is all about. If you are a person of faith, know that religious diversity is a great American tradition, too. In fact, that's why people first came to this country — to worship freely. And whether you are Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Sikh — these religions are teaching our young people about justice, and compassion, and honesty. So I want our young people to continue to learn and practice those values with pride. You see, our glorious diversity — our diversities of faiths and colors and creeds — that is not a threat to who we are, it makes us who we are.

All Kinds Of Time
The clocks running down
the teams losing ground
to the opposing defense
the young quarterback
waits for the snap
when suddenly it all starts to make sense
he's got all kinds of time
he's got all kinds of time
all kinds of time
he's got all kinds of time
all kinds of time
he takes a step back
he's under attack
but he knows that no one can touch him now
he seems so at ease
a strange inner peace
its all that he's feeling somehow
he's got all kinds of time
he's got all kinds of time
all kinds of time
he's got all kinds of time
all kinds of time
he thinks of his mother
he thinks of his bride to be
he thinks of his father
his two younger brothers
gathered around the wide screen t.v.
he looks to the left
he looks to the right
and there in a golden ray of light
and there his open man
just like he planned
the world is his tonight
he's got all kinds of time
he's got all kinds of time
all kinds of time
he's got all kinds of time
all kinds of time

To Fully Live!
freedom is not white,
it is not Christian,
it is neither liberal nor conservative....
not bound by capitalistic values,
it is not served at gunpoint
to those with differing views...
it is all colors, all faiths,
openminded and intelligent,
beyond all political views;
places human need in front of profit,
and celebrates diversity!
it is the basic right
of the living to fully live!

She Takes
She takes one step back
And falls to the ground
Can not seem to stop laughing
Joking they say to all she has done
Not nearly what she sees tonight
All kinds of time she says
All kinds of time
She has all kinds of time
Drinking with despair they take her down
Throwing it all around
She has no money to spare
As she ask for help from her friends
All kinds of time he says
All kinds of time
He has all kinds of time
Writing it all for him to see
The way he use to be
No father around as she passes out
From not sleeping she's been wishing
All kinds of time they say
All kinds of time
All kinds of time to break her down
Nothing around as she picks herself up
In a place that has no name
Came on a bus with a bottle
She's been drinking
She settles down with no help
Can't remember the last night she felt sound
All kinds of time she says
All kinds of time
She has all kinds of time

Fantasies Enriched
With fantasies enriched,
And lives protected...
By the foolishness of censorship.
One aided by religious beliefs,
That restrict the expansion...
Of one's mental consciousness.
People do seem they are getting,
Very tired of this.
Although misjudgements,
Expect an effective controlling.
Enforced and condoned through imagery,
And symbolic teachings.
Although a Taste for decadence,
Provides a good foundation...
For hypocrisies to exist.
With a contradicting of values and standards.
There is a need to keep these pretensions,
On the top of the list.
However...
Truth IS and not a myth.
And those with fantasies enriched,
Are on the road that will expose...
A discovery of this comes without a welcome.

The Christian cannot be satisfied so long as any human activity is either opposed to Christianity or out of connection with Christianity. Christianity must pervade not merely all nations but also all of human thought.

04. Beautiful Women
young women, old women
in their heart
despite the years
the yearning to be beautiful
young women, old women
they look at each other
one with envy
the other with fear and contempt (of the wrinkles, old age)
young women, old women
they look into each other
one for a mother
the other for a daughter

Strengthened Faith
I need to get much richer,
With...
Spiritual beliefs.
Teasing 'things' just can't do it.
Or deliver to me mental relief.
I need to get richer,
With...
Spiritual beliefs.
'Cause...
Nothing that I ever had to 'bling',
Stayed to mean anything to me.
But my...
Faith is here to stay.
Although it is daily tested.
And...
Opposition everywhere wont let me rest.
It keeps my weaknesses invested.
Yes my...
Faith is here to stay.
Although it is daily tested.
And...
Opposition everywhere wont let me rest.
It keeps my weaknesses invested.
I've spent a lot of time by the riverside.
Strengthening a faith I feel inside.
And yes I feel it,
Strengthened faith!
Everyday and without fail.
Oh yes I feel it,
Strengthened faith.
And with it I must prevail.
'Cause...
Opposition everywhere wont let me rest.
It keeps my weaknesses invested.
I've spent a lot of time by the riverside.
Strengthening a faith I feel inside.
And...
I feel it,
Strengthened faith!
Everyday and without fail.
Oh yes I feel it,
Strengthened faith!
With me and I will prevail.
Oh yes I feel it,
Strengthened faith!
Everyday and without fail.
Oh yes I feel it,
Strengthened faith!
With me and I will prevail.
Oh yes I feel it,
A strengthened faith!
Yes I feel it,
Everyday and without fail.
I feel it...
A strengthened faith!
With me and I will prevail.

We Have No Similar Interests
You have spent your time attacking my beliefs.
But it is your beliefs that now attack you.
Not once did I ever say,
You should do things my way.
However...
Your way,
Done...
Lead to your undoing.
You have spent your time attacking my beliefs.
But it is your beliefs that now attack you.
You had fast backing from a society.
Many professed as normal.
The one that sets standards...
With values to achieve.
You also had 'close' friends,
You spent time with.
I lived in my own 'world'.
And your laughter persisted.
Until it recently has drifted,
Away.
You have spent your time attacking my beliefs.
But it is your beliefs that attack now you.
Not once did I ever say,
You should do things my way.
However...
Your way,
Done...
Lead to your undoing.
Why am I now,
Getting your unanswered calls?
We have no similar interests.
None that bestows a wish,
To speak to you.
And all that I have gone through...
I just let my telephone ring.
Often to go unnoticed.
Any hellos I wish to here...
Are personal and exchanged,
When I am near...
From ear to ear.

Understanding the mind of a young woman
You cannot understand the mind of a young woman
Its like a religion
Facts and myths are told
Always beyond comprehension
You will figure out the facts
Small, little facts
Through the years of being together
Yet when you gather
Will your fellow man
(O so much better!)
Every single fact you tell is different from another
A man will tell a fact of a woman,
another man will say it is not true
And tell them his own facts
In which another argument will pursue
I shall explain more simply
Why it is pointless to understand the mind of a young woman
Because all women are different!
Men have the same mind
Women are individuals
She has her own feelings, experiences-
Secrets…
The mind of women is not for men to know
Because it is ours alone
Only women possess this gift
Or curse some may call it
To understand the mind of a woman
You must be one of our own
So if you wish to be one of our own
You may ask us, the secrets of a woman
If not
Don’t even try

With Nothing Better To Do
If we all knew at this moment,
Any action or decision we made...
Would have an adverse affect,
Ten years from now...
Would any of us hesitate,
To make that decision made?
Or would we all consult psychics,
And be afraid to breathe and/or move?
Since someone in the year 2019,
With nothing better to do than to pass judgement...
On all and/or any thought we have ever held,
Will hold us accountable.
Utlizing the best of their Christian beliefs.
So...
Let us all right now,
Be sure...
We know exactly what those consequences we face.
Or,
Like many are accustomed to do...
Excuse everything they've done,
Via selective memory or choose to pass the buck.
Utlizing the best of their Christian beliefs!

Fruited Roots
Naturally my gifts come blessed.
To pick from an assortment,
Of interests I possess.
It seems I can sit and choose,
Which direction to take.
And from new adventures I taste,
Yet another fresh experience.
Fruited roots has this tree,
That has branches of such diversity.
And empowered by birth,
To quench my thirst...
As if deserving.
Fruited roots has this tree,
That has branches of such diversity.
And each leaf is related.
As a family that breathes...
To see a reaching for the stars!
And I am just one seeking to shine.
I am one of many determined to climb.
