I think it was when I ran into Kerouac and Burroughs - when I was 17 - that I realized I was talking through an empty skull... I wasn't thinking my own thoughts or saying my own thoughts.

My Thoughts

Thought in the eyes,
The ears.
Thought in mind,
The brain,
Thought in heart,
The soul.

Great thought is great
when it becomes great deeds.
With my thoughts within
Building my world within

Learning with thought;
Is great learning wisdom.
Learning without thought,
Is opportunity lost.

Thought for others
Thought for God
Thought for good
Thought for God’s blessing

Thoughts teach me,
Thoughts educate me,
Thoughts clarify me,
Thoughts enlighten me.

Thoughts make me wise
Thoughts make me patience
Thoughts make me trust others
Thoughts make me clam.

Thoughts before act
Is smart and wise
Act before thoughts
Is stupid and foolish

That’s my thoughts
They make thinking clear
They make belief deepen
They make confidence high.

In thoughts, my world
In my world, make my thoughts.
In thoughts, my words
In my words, make my speech

It’s my thoughts count
Counting my thoughts
To endless counting thoughts
Thinking the thoughts endlessly
My thoughts and thoughts again.

A silent phone call

I sat for an hour thinking of her
wondering about where she was
what she would be doing
and who she was with.
Then again I think of her a lot
because they say if you do that
that person will feel those thoughts
and get back in touch with you.
Who believes all that nonsense anyway
how can someone feel the thoughts
of another person miles and miles away?
I sat there thinking I'm thinking too much
and just as I was going out the door
the mobile on the table started ringing
bet that's another cold caller I thought.
It wasn't a cold caller but my mate
asking if I was going down the pub
told him no not tonight bit short of cash.
Putting my coat on the phone rang again
bet that's my mate going to buy me a few beers
he knows he'll get it back at the weekend.
No it wasn't my mate as nobody spoke
even when I asked who was there on the line
all I could hear was someone breathing.
The next night the silent caller rang again
and the night after that and the next night
then it stopped as suddenly as it started
no voice, no talking, no light breathing.
They say if you think of someone a lot
that person will feel those thoughts
and get back in touch with you,
who believes all that nonsense anyway?

My Thoughts Of Suicide

Here I sit and write this poem
Thinking of all I love and all I hate
Thoughts of suicide thinking its my fate
I think of all the times I used to laugh
And now I wish I'd just die
How did so much misery come in to my life
And now all I have are thoughts of suicide
Crying every night is not the way to live
Heck I'm still a kid
I should be out hanging with all my friends
But these thoughts of suicide haunt my head
Will they care when I am gone
When nothings left expect my thoughts
And this small poem telling everyone
I will be no more in about an hour
Don't try to save me
Just save your tears
Nothing can stop me
Because i have thoughts of suicide
Heres to the end my dear friend
I hope you live life through
This is the end to this girls life
And all her thoughts to boot
Nothing there but my thoughts my secret thoughts of suicide

Houses of Dreams

You took my empty dreams
And filled them every one
With tenderness and nobleness,
April and the sun.

The old empty dreams
Where my thoughts would throng
Are far too full of happiness
To even hold a song.

Oh, the empty dreams were dim
And the empty dreams were wide,
They were sweet and shadowy houses
Where my thoughts could hide.

But you took my dreams away
And you made them all come true --
My thoughts have no place now to play,
And nothing now to do.

Thinking Of Wealth

My backer is the bank of thinking,
A special boast for all the time.
Loose are the raiders who speak,
Less thinking and considering is to leap.

My personal thoughts are inner talking words,
These shine from woolen garments,
Utter actions remind us continually,
The chains of these phrases are hired.

My bank of thoughts requires money,
Only one man possesses and demands wealth.

Thoughts Of A Fool

I had a love and it was all mine
I drove her out, I mustve been blind
Thats the thoughts of a fool thinking out loud
She loved me so, but I was untrue
Shes gone for good, what can I do
Thats the thoughts of a fool thinking out loud
Theres not a thing that I can say about her
Except I dont know how Im going to live without her
I had a love and it was all mine
I watched it fade a kiss at a time
Thats the thoughts of a fool thinking out loud
Thats the thoughts of a fool thinking out loud

Do You Have Any Thoughts About Me?

Do you have any thoughts about me?
And I want to know if the thoughts that you have about me
Are any good?
Do you mind sharing the thoughts about me?
What are the thoughts about me like?
Are the thoughts about me semtimental?
Are the thoughts about me very romantic?
Are the thoughts about me full of love?

Happy Thoughts, Happy Thoughts, Think Happy Thoughts

I have to keep reminding myself to forget you.
Forget you and me.
(Happy thoughts, happy thoughts, think happy thoughts.)
You wanted me to promise to never say it again
Those three words
(Happy thoughts, happy thoughts, think happy thoughts)
Which is laughably easy to do right now because
We are so far out of touch I couldn’t reach you if I tried
(Happy thoughts, happy thoughts, think happy thoughts)
So I plod through grey days and inky dark nights
Heavy laden with regret
(Happy thoughts, happy thoughts, think happy thoughts)
Tomorrow I will remind myself to forget you.
Forget you and me.

The Sublime

I stay awake in empty darkness
Thinking thoughts that shape me so
A recompense of all the harshness
That my life has come to know

The sanctity of dreams and worry
Weigh me down and cloud my soul
The thoughts across my mind they scurry
Looking for their lifelong goal

Seldom as I lie there thinking
Could such actions ever find
Doomed as sure the ship thats sinking
Playing stories in my mind.

I have no answer to this haunting
Safe but sure I can survive
Though life itself alone is daunting
Thoughts may keep my dreams alive.

Let the darkness sooth your senses
Take its presence by the hand
While building bridges not just fences
Drifting to your promised land...

A Man’s Dirty Night

Consumed in his own thoughts,
In his own little Paris.
People on pass by,
The queue going nowhere,
His pockets are empty,
Everyone asking for money.
The last of his change spent in that greasy spoon,
Washing last night session away.
Two coffee’s and gut buster,
The pounding head slips away into it’s own coma.
She was good,
She was bad,
She wasn’t cheap,
She may have looked it under the bridge,
Knickers to the knee’s.
She complained that she cut her knee,
He nailed her good.
The checkout girl say’s next,
He snap out of his thoughts with a smile,
Hard to hide his thoughts,
Has she checks him out below the bridges.

Thoughts

Thoughts
Sounds of raindrops
In the stillness of a winter night
How does anyone have foresight
Tired swollen eyes
In complete emptiness a body lies
Creating a wilderness of thoughts

Occasional sounds of a car passing by
Interrupt the flow of the nights dream
Innocent thoughts
Spurn from the womb
To mould a man from a woman

Mystified power
Unexplained energy
Unconventional thinking
Giving birth to what is called instinct

A change of destiny
Chanced by thoughts
When at the break of dawn
The minds meet and comprehend unspoken words

Silent thoughts
No one can hear
Your mysterious moment
Only you can bear
It’s your need to be free
To be at peace with oneself

Silent thoughts
A secret moment
To indulge into wishful thinking
Then champion the process into creative thinking
To see how events can be influenced

Something That Flows Away

FINALLY you tell me
you like an empty house
something minimal
all white with no curves
just straight lines

your want is small now
something that makes us close
something that shrinks
to make an intimacy

you want a house just
for the two of us
i am thinking if these thoughts
are a little bit late

my dreams are different
i am thinking of a bird-house
i am thinking of grains
i am thinking of water

something that i can leave
something that i can give
something that flows away

Myriad Thoughts

I sit here in myriad thoughts
dancing around my head
too fed up to put them to bed.
Thoughts of the past,
thoughts of the future too,
thoughts of things this and that
and thoughts of what to do.
Memories invade at times
of pastures long gone by
as the myriad thoughts
fill my mind with anger and with love
and times; I wish I could have lingered with
when my years were young.
Things pass in phases,
hearts entwine then fall apart,
seasons readily appear,
stay awhile and then depart.
Here I sit in a lonely waste
thinking thoughts of what might have been
if the crystal ball I look into had only seen.
Now the myriad thoughts appear
to haunt me in quiet times
and carry me to distant places
the world has left behind.
Those little specks of moments
that still linger from the past
that lay waiting to capture me
before the quiet time has passed.

Thunk

An idle thought
Idly thought,
By a thoughtful idler
Idling away his time
In timely thoughts.
Unthoughtful at the time.
Timely brought to the fore.
Idle at four, a forethought.
Insolent in his indolence,
With indolent thoughts.
A thinking faineant.
A feint heart.
Thinking hearty thoughts
Who'd a thunk.

That Plantation Has Been Ordered To Be Destroyed

Sir...
The 'coons' have taken refuge,
Under the veranda.
And the demolition crew is here.
What shall we do?

'Make sure it is made clear to them,
There is not going to be a renovation done.
That plantation has been ordered to be destroyed.'

Sir,
I do believe we are talking about two different things.
The animal rights people will not like it,
If we've intentionally demolished the nature habitat of the coons.
Should we contact the zoo before the crew starts?

'What 'are' we talking about here? '

The raccoons sir!
You know...
Those furry masked animals.

'OH!
I'm glad you clarified that.
I had a different image in my mind.
It would have appeared ridiculous,
Shouting through a bullhorn.
Threatening them with arrest!
See if they can be teased back into the trees.'

Sir?
What thoughts were you thinking?

'You don't want to know.
It has been very difficult for me of late,
To keep my thoughts progressive.
Politically correct and not offensive.'
