Major religions are examples of 'noble lies' aimed at uplifting human stature.

The maker is not to blame.
Men had been rational
Till they’ve made religions,
Since when the religions
Have made them mere sheep.
Men had been awaken
Till they’ve made religions,
Since when the religions
Have made them quite drowsy.
Men had been brotherly
Till they’ve made religions,
Since when the religions
Have bred the rivalries.
Men had been good in mind
Till they’ve made religions,
Since when with all the walls,
They have become perverts.
If what was intended
From what was made
Has not been the outcome,
The maker is not to blame.

Whenever we can trace back a religion to its first beginnings, we find it free from many of the blemishes that offend us in its later phases. The founders of the ancient religions of the world, as far as we can judge, were minds of a high stamp, full of noble aspirations, yearning for truth, devoted to the welfare of their neighbors, examples of purity and unselfishness. What they desired to found upon earth was but seldom realized, and their sayings, if preserved in their original form, offer often a strange contrast to the practice of those who profess to be their disciples.

Uplift
On one whole bottle "uplifting!"
There is no telling what I'll do
Run head first into traffic
A mindset of annihilation
No sense makes sense
You can't get bought without thought
Ahh... no sense makes sense
You can't get bought without thought inside
Your head now
Uplift - uplifting
Uplifting now
On hallucinogenic "uplift"
I can step out of my body
Religion is in myself
I'll split my head in two and see you twice
No sense makes sense
You can't get bought without thought
Ahh... no sense makes sense
You can't get bought without thought inside
your head now
Uplift... uplifting
Uplifting now...
Uplifting you now...

Buddhism has had a major effect on who I am and how I think about the world. What I have learned is that I like all religions, but only parts of them.

With reference to other religions, the Church sees a great difference between them and herself. The other religions are expressions of the human soul seeking God, with some beautiful spiritual insights, but also not without errors. Christianity is rather God seeking humanity.

Gandhi
Small in stature this Hindu man
Yet a giant amongst fellow men
For human rights he did stand
Time and time and time again
Stood for non-violence, truth
Vegetarianism, faith, simplicity
Educated, wise, noble, couth
Never succumbed to duplicity
A Hindu that embraced all religions
He knew well that all men equal be
To bigoted men gave admonition
On his way to make salt by the sea
“Bapu” freed India of British rule
Without violence or declaring war
Civil disobedience his only tool
A peaceful goodwill ambassador
Jan 30,1948 during evening stroll
Bapu was confronted and shot dead
By an extremist discharging a pistol
An act Nathuram Godse would dread
Worldwide many millions did grieve
Frail brown man swathed in homespun
In awe of all this great soul did achieve
Hearts filled with love and adoration
Once an eon a great leader arrives
Touching and changing many lives

It is clear that this essential Christian doctrine gives a new value to human nature, to human history and to human life which is not to be found in the other great oriental religions.

The history of religions reaches down and makes contact with that which is essentially human: the relation of man to the sacred. The history of religions can play an extremely important role in the crisis we are living through. The crises of modern man are to a large extent religious ones, insofar as they are an awakening of his awareness to an absence of meaning.

There will be no peace among the nations without peace among the religions. There will be no peace among the religions without dialogue among the religions. There will be no dialogue among the religions without global ethical standards. There will therefore be no survival of this globe without a global ethic.

War is murder. And the military preparations now being made for a potential major confrontation are aimed at collective murder. In a nuclear age the victims would be numbered by the millions. This naked truth must be faced.

2010/02/22 Forgave
I managed a major faux pas today
blood-sugar stabilizing peanuts -
eating too much, suddenly swelling
in my head causing debilitating pain:
pain in my ears, pain in my ears, PAIN
PAIN, stopped working, clung to my chair
looked at pictures, looked at nothingness
Painkillers unable to stop the pain in my ears
I lost everything, every hope of completing my
document, every dream of writing something
uplifting or noble or both, all I knew was the pain,
the bitter taste of failure again, once more I could
not complete a translation, could not even recall
the sound or the feel of the dream
The only thing I retained, the assurance I found:
‘I’ll never leave you nor desert you’ - I could not
pin it to anyone, so I assigned it to the Lord of
the New Testament who declared it is all
about love and forgiveness, I forgave
myself and everyone else…

Indians are converts
Some religions converted the people.
Some religions converted the shrines.
Some religions converted the kings.
The Vedic sect adopted local gods.
I am a descendant of forefathers
Who might be converts to many faiths.
If I segregate one on one's religion
It'd mean I insult my forefather's.

Set priorities for your goals. A major part of successful living lies in the ability to put first things first. Indeed, the reason most major goals are not achieved is that we spend our time doing second things first.

Space Oddity
[David Bowie]
Ground Control to Major Tom
Ground Control to Major Tom
Take your protein pills
And put your helmet on
Ground Control to Major Tom
Commencing countdown, engines on
Check ignition
And may God's love be with you
Ten, nine eight, seven, six, five
Four, three, two, one, liftoff
This is Ground Control to Major Tom
You've really made the grade
And the papers want to know
Whose shirts you wear
Now it's time to leave the capsule
If you dare
This is Major Tom to Ground Control
I'm stepping through the door
And I'm floating in a most peculair way
And the stars look very different
Today
For here
Am I sitting in a tin can
Far above the world
Planet Earth is blue
And there's nothing I can do
Though I'm past 100,000 miles
I'm feeling very still
And I think my spaceship knows
Which way to go
Tell my wife I love her very much,
She knows
Ground Control to Major Tom
Your circuit's dead,
There's something wrong
Can you hear me Major Tom
Can you hear me Major Tom
Can you hear me Major Tom
Can you....
Here am I floating round my tin can
Far above the Moon
Planet Earth is blue
And there's nothing I can do

Major Barbara
Major
Major barbara sits in the fields
And waits for her crops to grow
She sits in a chair
She made out of wood
So many, many years ago
Major, why dont they grow
Youve given them water and hope
Major, why wont they grow
She waits all day
And hopes through the night
For a new day that might show
A bright yellow sun
Thatll make the crops come
And let the old days go
Major, why wont they grow
Youve given them water and hope
Major, why wont they grow
Major
Look out in your fields
Tell me what do you see shinin through
Major
Look after your fields
And your fields will look after you
Yes they do
Yes they do
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Major, why wont they grow
Youve given them water and hope
Major, why wont they grow

The Ideal (Revised)
Beauty of ‘The Ideal’, a dream of
wonder – needs no surreal reality
disposed to be enchanting
Cultures which conceived of the
magic created by an amazing
and unique human being
Any vision that creates inspirational
delight of people united in desire
for love and peace
Any delineation of such an infinitely
uplifting principle as - Do unto others
as you would have them do unto you –
brings wonder and joy
to the human heart…

I Started to Wonder
I thought you were my angel,
Sent from heaven's sky,
I thanked God for you presence,
But now I wonder why.
You took your bow and arrow,
And aimed it at my heart,
You let it rip right through my soul.
And left me torn apart.
I started to wonder what went wrong.
I loved you without fail.
But above all else i figured out,
You're just a typical male.
