The American President resembles the commander of a ship at sea. He must have a helm to grasp, a course to steer, a port to seek.

The Ship That Never Returned

On a summer's day while the waves were rippling, with a quiet and a gentle breeze;
A ship set sail with a cargo laden for a port beyond the sea.

Did she ever return? No, she never returned, and her fate is still unlearned,
But a last poor man set sail commander, on a ship that never returned.

There were sad farewells, there were friends forsaken, and her fate is still unlearned,
But a last poor man set sail commander on a ship that never returned.

Did she ever return? No, she never returned, and her fate is still unlearned,
But a last poor man set sail commander, on a ship that never returned.

Said a feeble lad to his aged mother, I must cross that deep blue sea,
For I hear of a land in the far off country, where there's health and strength for me.

Did she ever return? No, she never returned, and her fate is still unlearned,
But a last poor man set sail commander, on a ship that never returned.

'Tis a gleam of hope and a maze of danger, and our fate is still to learn,
And a last poor man set sail commander, on a ship that never returned.

Did she ever return? No, she never returned, and her fate is still unlearned,
But a last poor man set sail commander, on a ship that never returned.

Said this feeble lad to his aged mother, as he kissed his weeping wife,
"Just one more purse of that golden treasure, it will last us all through life.

Did she ever return? No, she never returned, and her fate is still unlearned,
But a last poor man set sail commander, on a ship that never returned.

"Then we'll live in peace and joy together and enjoy all I have earned."
So they sent him forth with a smile and blessing on a ship that never returned.

Did she ever return? No, she never returned, and her fate is still unlearned,
But a last poor man set sail commander, on a ship that never returned.

Be The C.E.O. Of It

Handle your own business.
With an expertise,
You keep.
And be the C.E.O. of it.
You are the Chief Executive Officer.
Commander of your ship.
Know this.
And conduct yourself with a firm grasp held,
Within an unrelenting fist.

Get over mistakes made.
Moaning over them for you leaves no benefit.
You alone can make it known,
Persistence is in your grip.
And with it,
There is no quitting.

Handle your own business.
With an expertise,
You keep.
And be the C.E.O. of it.
You are the Chief Executive Officer.
Commander of your ship.
Know this.
And conduct yourself with a firm grasp held,
Within an unrelenting fist.

Release from your mind designs of defeat.
You...
And no one else,
Can succeed with skills to achieve.
Handle your own business.
And be the C.E.O. of it.

At Best

o

The faithful helm commands the keel,
From port to port fair breezes blow;
But the ship must sail the convex sea,
Nor may she straighter go.

So, man to man; in fair accord,
On thought and will the winds may wait;
But the world will bend the passing word,
Though its shortest course be straight.

From soul to soul the shortest line
At best will bended be:
The ship that holds the straightest course
Still sails the convex sea.

This Spiraling Cliff

mmm
The subject matter and the topic,
You have chosen to discuss
Is most interesting.

You hint,
That a boat floating
Once with an incompetent commander,
Unaware of it floating towards the edge
Of a waterfall cascading at unquestionable speed.
And had been warned of this danger
Should 'not' be the one found at fault.
Because the waterfall at the time of his leadership
Was not as close as it is today?

And the new commander recently taking helm
Who dares to turn the ship away,
From this spiraling cliff
With reason to believe all aboard,
Face eminent and devastating danger?
Because he represents a vision
That has not been collectively decided,
By those wishing to continue sailing
With scheduled social events to attend?

And
Everyone aboard,
Now hears the thunderous roar of this waterfall?
But pretend the evidence of it does not exist?

I'd like to make this suggestion strongly recommended.
And this is hypothetically speaking,
Of course.

'Of course.'

If everyone 'now' hears,
The thunderous roar of this waterfall...
Wouldn't it be to the best of everyone's interest,
IF they paid attention?
And gave the new commander their support?

'In response to your hypothetical suggested recommendation,
To my 'hypothetical' inquisitive mention of this
Of course.
Giving the new commander that much authority,
Would reveal delusions all aboard 'this' ship
I mean 'the' ship,
Wish to keep to themselves without the embarrassment,
Of admitting
They have standards and values,
They would rather keep to impress others who 'may'
Look upon them with less respect!
And,
They would rather try to convince others,
The new commander has weaknesses
Than to confess an apparent ignorance exposed.
And their severe incompetence to address,
Is a confession.

WHO and WHAT are they trying to protect?

'An 'image' of greatness!
Hypothetically speaking,
Of course.'

Sure.
And hypothetically speaking
Where would the lifejackets be stored,
Aboard 'that' fated ship?

'I have no idea.
I am going back to the upper deck,
To attend tonight's activities.'

Button Down Your Hatches Quick

Button down your hatches quick...
You lassies fast grabbing lads.
Pull up your britches over your hips.
The commander comes to inspect the ship.
And we with a quickened pace must ensure...
The commander leaves impressed with it.

Remove all makeup from the boys.
And you girls make sure you wear slips.
Don't embarrass yourselves with low self esteem.
Remember the oath to maintain our greatness.
No matter what trash we wallow in and permit.
Impress with image to prove none of us are misfits.

Button down your hatches quick...
You lassies fast grabbing lads.
Pull up your britches over your hips.
The commander comes to inspect the ship.
And fast we must ensure...
The commander leaves impressed with it.

Eavan's Grandma

She feared the women
at the port when her
husband's ship docked
there the port.
She went to the port
to see her husband
each time he arrived
I like the man
and the wife.
'Aren't they
the same kind of girls
anyway? ' he thinks,
she doesn't know it.

Walt Whitman

Aboard At A Ship's Helm

ABOARD, at a ship's helm,
A young steersman, steering with care.

A bell through fog on a sea-coast dolefully ringing,
An ocean-bell--O a warning bell, rock'd by the waves.

O you give good notice indeed, you bell by the sea-reefs ringing,
Ringing, ringing, to warn the ship from its wreck-place.

For, as on the alert, O steersman, you mind the bell's admonition,
The bows turn,--the freighted ship, tacking, speeds away under her
gray sails,
The beautiful and noble ship, with all her precious wealth, speeds
away gaily and safe.

But O the ship, the immortal ship! O ship aboard the ship! 10
O ship of the body--ship of the soul--voyaging, voyaging, voyaging.

Closer To Home

(m&l - farner)
Everybody listen to me
And return me
My ship
Im your captain
Im your captain
No Im feeling mighty sick
Ive been lost now
Days uncounted
And its months since
Ive seen home
Can you hear me
Can you hear me
Oh am I all alone
If you return me
To my home port
I will kiss you
Mother earth
Take me back now
Take me back now
To the port
Of my birth
To the port
Of my birth
Am I in my cabin dreaming
Or are you really schemeing
To take my ship away from me?
You better think about it
I just cant live without it
So please dont take my ship from me
Yeah yeah yeah
I can feel the hand
Of the stranger
As its tightening
Around my throat
Heaven help me
Heaven help me
Take this stranger
From my boat
Im your captain
Im your captain
Though Im feeling mighty sick
Everybody listen to me
And return me my ship
Im your captain
Yeah yeah yeah, m getting closer to my home

An Interview

I was called for an interview
For the position of Dental Assistant.
It's really funny on that particular night
I dreamed that I punched some President
On his face in an unknown country
And his Molars were broken.
I was scared at the intervierw
And the Doctor smiled of his pure white denture
That resembles the dream President?

Giddy-up

My ship left port without me
and my run has all run out
If my pep were not all petered
I would surely scream and shout

My giddy-up has up-and-gone
with no energy in sight
As inertia's taken over
and momentum's taken flight

Out of gas with spark plugs fouled
I know I'm going nowhere
My engine's stuck in neutral
with my gears all stripped from wear

With gauge on low and not much go
perhaps I'd best not fight it
Instead of run or even walk
it may well be wise to sit

With endurance pushed up to the edge
I need not put it to the test
I could opt for healthy time-out
that would give my self a rest

I believe I'll choose that option
and see where it will lead
And when my ship returns to port
I'll load the energy I need

The Menopausal Voyage!

Queen of the ship
Hides the telescope
And grumbles
It seems;
' Master!
Let me steer
And alter the course
As I sniff that
You're heading
For that abandon ship.
Why you seek
An another cook
While I provide you
Tasty food?
I too love birds
But there's no place to hang
A bird's cage in our tiny cabin.
Let another vessel rescue her.
Do you remember the past stormy weather
I climbed myself the Mast
And changed that burnt lamp for you!
Please realize the situation
As I too a Woman! '

There has been an awful lot of time and money spent looking at the president over the last four years The American people saw through those investigations. They voted for the president. The Captain2

He stands at the tiller
of a age old ship
that drifts upon
stormy waters
and the wind rips past
with a sharp chill
and the ship sail
like she forever will.

Caught between reality
and a place
that few ever see
the ghostly form
still steer that ship
to where destiny
bides her to go.

Some people think of it
as a trick of light
and others swear
of it to be there,
but no science
or chart can track
the way that she goes
and know why
her Captain lives forever more.

Truman Teaches Romney Where The Buck Stops

On the desk of President Truman did sit a sign
famous defining standard of the man throughout
the land of the great United States of America!

Truman sitting at his desk in his White House
office had responsibility sign 'The Buck Stops Here'
because in Truman's administration the president

took responsibility for the welfare of all Americans!
No poker player hustler could be elected president
swindle 47% of the American people and say it is not

his responsibility as president to care for all citizens!
Mitt Romney passed the buck declaring all voters
who would not vote for him were not his responsibility...

in his vision for a Romney rummy federal government!
President Truman had a motto even for Monday morning
because as star quarterback for a nation when a decision

is up before you then by you the decision has to be made!
President Truman defined what 'The Buck Stops Here'
means in January 1953 in his farewell address to his then

responsibility the American people asserting specifically
'The President-whoever he is-has to decide. He can't
pass the buck to anybody. No one else can do the deciding

for him. That's his job.' Responsibility for all Americans!

Nostalgic wind takes me homebound

Facing strong wind and heavy rain today.
All the vessels in the harbor secured safely.
And the Tugs are in their weather-watch
in case of emergency.
Like a tigress the horrible wind comes
how soft when she is normal
chime like wind bells.
I heard a ship was calling from afar
she is heading to another port
humbly request a shelter in anchorage
until the bad weather get settled.
Though I am alert in the port
I feel like a ship in her pitching & rolling
in the deep sea.
And the the strong wind take me home.
Oh! my loved ones at shore
and I can see them waving happily.

Sonnet: God

God is our Father to fatherless ones;
God is a Sibling, Friend and guiding Light;
God is our Mother to motherless sons;
God is our Lover on a moonless night.

God is a compass that can never fail;
God is our strength of life on earth to all;
God is our hope that will always prevail;
God is our succor who is prompt to call.

Yes, God has blessed you immensely, mind you,
In such short time, you cannot imagine;
Remember this and turn a leaf anew,
And steer life’s ship to a port sans sin.

Our flesh’s wants, we must learn to subdue;
God has blest you, pray He should continue!
