Lives have been altered in fundamental ways, and later, after they acquire a more complete understanding of what goals are actually attainable, many are left facing a lot of pain and frustration. And yet, there's no culture of complaint.

You set your goals to a point where they're attainable, but far enough away that you have to really go get them. And every year I push my goals a little bit farther away, and every year I work a little bit harder to get them.

Jamestown changed the world in many ways, but perhaps it shaped our nation most profoundly the day Africans arrived. I can't think of a more relevant place to talk about the issues facing our community today than the place where African culture became American culture.

The computer and its information cannot answer any of the fundamental questions we need to address to make our lives more meaningful and humane. The computer cannot provide an organizing moral framework. It cannot tell us what questions are worth asking. It cannot provide a means of understanding why we are here or why we fight each other or why decency eludes us so often, especially when we need it the most. The computer is... a magnificent toy that distracts us from facing what we most need to confront — spiritual emptiness, knowledge of ourselves, usable conceptions of the past and future.

The fact that it wasn't tells me that we've got a much more fundamental problem of understanding what went wrong, and we've got to figure out what was there. And that's what I call fundamental fault analysis.

Goals provide the energy source that powers our lives. One of the best ways we can get the most from the energy we have is to focus it. That is what goals can do for us; concentrate our energy.

I don't have to be like the rest

My dad is an alcoholic, and he hides it well
Thrown up against the wall, not knowing my last breath
My dad is an alcoholic, and he hides it well

I cut to relieve pain
They sent me to a 'loony bin'
I cut to relieve pain

My mom is never home
No clue when my next meal is
My mom is never home

My friends have all betrayed me
But I'm not complaing
My friends have all betrayed me

Everyone around me abuses drugs
Am I the only normal one?
Everyone around me abuses drugs

I DON'T have to be like them!
I will be the first to graduate highschool and go somewhere
I DON'T have to be like them!

I have goals in life, that soon will be complete
I will finish highschool, get a career, and have a family
I have goals in life, that will soon be complete

Mankind have a great aversion to intellectual labor but even supposing knowledge to be easily attainable, more people would be content to be ignorant than would take even a little trouble to acquire it.

We No Longer Have Compassion

We no longer
Have compassion
For people in this world
We take our anger
And frustration
On other people
Because we don't
Take the time to access
Our frustrations, anger,
Or the situations
That we are facing
Each day in our lives

Fundamental Humans

Fundamental Christianity
Fundamental Islam
Fundamental Judaism
Fundamental Buddhism
Fundamental?

What happened to fundamental humans?

Why so many God brokers?

Have humans forgotten how to speak directly to God?

Jihad?
Crusade?
Inquisition?
Forced missionary conversion?
Dogma?
Why have so many innocent people died in the name of God?

Fundamental religion has robbed fundamental humans,
of their sovereignty, freedom and connection to God.

An age nears;

When people awaken to inner truth
Establish a personal relationship with Creator
Restore balance within themselves
Restore balance to Mother Earth
Establish a lasting peace

Indigenous people around the world have been right all along;

“We’re all One”

Safety is peace

Acquire skill. Acquire knowledge.
You are not robbed.
Acquire wealth. Acquire power.
You are robbed.
Peace comes where safety rules.

Racism and the Culture Of Racism

We must be aware…..,
Of the Culture Of Racism….,
It’s a slur and a swear….,
The Culture Of Racism….! ! !

Can’t turn your back….,
On the Culture Of Racism….,
Or you’ll feel the whack…,
Of the Culture Of Racism….! ! !

It’s hard to believe….
The Culture Of Racism….,
That’s why we all grieve….,
The Culture Of Racism…! ! !

We must face the facts….,
On the Culture Of Racism ….! ! !
Cause we’ve seen the attacks…..,
Of the Culture Of Racism….,

It follows us all…,
The Culture Of Racism….,
But we must stand tall….,
Against the Culture Of Racism….! ! !

Can we control or stop it….,
As long as it’s been livin’….? ? ?
That’s the priceless question….,
On the Culture Of Racism…! ! !

Sacrifices

Beautiful values and culture
No freedom to follow one's own believe
Freedom of following the culture is banned
Sacrifice of their vision and mission

Beautiful mind and soul
It was kept in dark and hidden
Hence left with no choices
Sacrifice of the inner strength

Beautiful kindness and compassion
Taken as a weakness
Tortured and abused
Sacrifice of being human

Beautiful life
Too much which has filled the air
Breathing out of frustration
Sacrifice of their precious life by setting themselves on fire

Echo of Silence

I'm a victim of female genital mutilation
My father was an illiterate
My mother a child-bride
He preached the gospel according to culture
She was the subordinate wife
On the day of my birth,
she sadly watched,
mute like a stone
as my treasure was torn from me.
I only knew of this gruesomeness
when I failed to thrive in the ways of love
Stories from friends spoke of multiple extremes
Something strange to me.
My lover called me a log;
a name whispered for a joke.
In a fight to save my relationship,
I was told to return to my mother.
The confrontation was heart wrecking
for all she had done for me was love
but the truth had to be told
and the truth almost killed me.
Something given by God himself was stolen from me.
I was not given time to find a path for myself
I was silenced like an animal in the abattoir.
My deed was signed when I was just a babe
I don't remember the pain
But I won't call this luck!
My tribe mates who are facing the knife
with a grown mind
their cries are deafening,
their pains excruciating,
some have died from it.
But why are we letting such brutality live on?
Why are we bowing down to culture?
To keep us faithful?
NO!
Culture is just selfish!
I will never experience the extremities of intimacy
but that is a by-gone for me
but not for the next generation!

Marianne

(as interpreted by virgin records japan)
(accuracy is not guaranteed)
I take one look at you
It leaves me breathless
I see your dreams come true
Youre not so restless
Or light, or bright
Marianne
One day I might not care
What happens to me
Your lack of sympathy fails to disturb me
Ive got a life of my own
I remember the day
I thought we couldnt lose
Running round the garden in your mothers shoes
Playing silly sisters
And drinking green tea
On a cold autumn day
Someones car had broken down
The best of summer ends
When you give a celebration
We can leave but we cant really go on
It would spoil the celebration
Anita, all thats left is us facing a life
That goes on as before
One day I might not care
What happens to me
Your lack of sympathy
Fails to disturb me
Ive got a life of my own
Anita, all thats left is us facing a life
That goes on as before
Marianne
Anita, all thats left is us facing a life
That goes on as before
Marianne
Anita, all thats left is us facing a life
That goes on as before
Marianne
Anita, all thats left is us facing a life
At the end of the world
Marianne

The result of my searching

With a heavy heart
One deep night,
I was looking one thing,
Along with pent up feelings.
From deep to deeper
I went, more dissatisfaction crawl in!
More I went
From deeper to the deepest,
More the frustration crept in!
I kept facing
From darker to the darkest things!

The belief and faith
One by one failed
Bewildered and disgusted stood I
With a lot of pain have I to die?
