That is what learning is. You suddenly understand something you've understood all your life, but in a new way.

Understanding is only misunderstanding
When you say
“I understand”
You simply confess
That you are only trying
To understand
And you affirm
To guard against
Misunderstanding
Though this may not be true
In a technical discussion
This is always true
When attempts are made
To evaluate issues
Pertaining to minds and emotions
Let us admit
We have not understood
Any one and
Any of the thought processes
Associated with any individual
How many of us
Have understood our parents?
How many of us
Have understood our spouses?
How many of us
Have understood our brothers
And sisters?
How many of us
Have understood our sons
And daughters?
How many of us
Have understood our customers,
Employers and employees
Bosses and sub-ordinates
More you are confident
About these understandings
More likely
You have misunderstood them
Do not ever claim
That you have
Understood others
As you now understand
That
Understanding is only
Misunderstanding

Teaching is more difficult than learning because what teaching calls for is this: to let learn. The real teacher, in fact, lets nothing else be learned than learning. His conduct, therefore, often produces the impression that we properly learn nothing from him, if by "learning" we now suddenly understand merely the procurement of useful information.

The Joy Of Suddenly Learning
THE JOY OF SUDDENLY LEARNING
The Joy of suddenly learning
One is not going to die soon-
The Joy of feeling
That one may be happy once again-
The Joy of believing in life again
For oneself and for others-
The Joy of Hope again
The Joy of Happiness again-
Happiness Again.

It's All Understood
Everyone laughed at her joke
As if they'd never even heard it before
And maybe they were truly amused
But every word that she spoke was a bore
And maybe it's because they had seen
The previews on the TV screen
Well this part is good and that's well understood
So you should laugh if you know what I mean
But it's all relative
Even if you don't understand
Well it's all understood
Especially when you don't understand
Then it's all just because
Even if we don't understand
Then lets all just believe
Everyone knows what went down
Because the news was spread all over town
And fact is only what you believe
And fact and fiction work as a team
It's almost always fiction in the end
That content begins to bend
When context is never the same
And it's all relative
Even if we don't understand
And it's all understood
Especially when we don't understand
Then it's all just because
Even if we don't understand
Then lets all just believe
I was reading a book
Or maybe it was a magazine
Suggestions on where to place faith
Suggestions on what to believe
But I read somewhere
That you've got to beware
You can't believe anything you read
But the good Book is good
And it's all understood
So don't even question
If you know what I mean
But it's all relative
Even if you don't understand
Well it's all understood
Especially when you don't understand
And it's all just because
Even if we don't understand
Then lets all just believe
But there you go once again
You missed the point and then you point
Your fingers at me
And say that I said not to believe
I believe
I guess
I guess it's all relative

To Be Understood
Nothing believed comes,
If one should run from it.
And...
Nothing believed comes,
If one is stunned by it.
Nothing is comprehended,
To understand.
And...
Those who become offended,
Often demand...
To be understood.
Observe and listen with a sitting,
Not too many do.
Too many are quick with their lips,
And...
Prove they are rude.
To then to accuse,
Someone to be abusive.
Nothing is comprehended,
To understand.
And...
Those who become offended,
Often demand...
To be understood.
And wounds are never mended.
With a healing recommended...
'Cause...
People wish to brood as they choose.
Nothing is comprehended,
To understand.
And...
Those who are offended,
Often demand...
To be understood.
But they aren't listening,
As they could and they should.
No they're not listening as they should and they could.
And if they listen they would be understood.
No they don't listen to,
Be understood.
No they don't listen like they could and should.

Till the last minute
You deserve credits
For you have been connecting ages
I know things of the past,
Long long-ago events
Because of you
I also know that generations ahead
Will come to know about this present
Only with your help
How much I become dependent on you
For the simple reason
That you help me communicate
And make me understood by others
The way I want them to
Understand me
Though I used to feel
I am being understood by others
In the same way
I understand myself
Later, I realised, more often than not,
That they have not understood me,
But, in fact, misunderstood me,
Which I could make out
From the reactions in response
To my communications
I do not know,
Whether I too have been
Misunderstanding others
In the same way
They have been doing me
It is all because of the guises
You can take
You look blue to me
While others see you as red
You smell jasmine to me
While others feel it as
Some other fragrance
To me you look opaque
To them transparent
And so on..
Though shapeless
You can assume thousands of shapes
Oh, my dear mother tongue
When I am going to do away with you
So that I am understood right
And I understand better
I hear you telling something
'Yes, when you breathe your last'

Miss Understood
Now that I'm a woman
I'm always dreaming of romance
I'm always dreaming about the perfect man
Who'd take me in his arms and understand, understand me
My name is Miss Understood
I'm just a girl who wants true love like anyone would
I'm Miss Understood
Isn't there a man who understands me?
He picked me up at midnight (Oh)
When all the town was fast asleep
We danced 4 the man in the moon above
Understanding's cheap when U fall in love, fall in love
Just call me Miss Understood
I'm just a girl who wants true love like anyone would
I'm Miss Understood
Isn't there a man who understands me?
I want a lover that can satisfy the hunger of my lonely heart
Gotta have a lover with a PhD in undercover art
Now that I'm a woman
I'm always looking 4 romance (Romance)
I'm always looking 4 the perfect man
Who'd take me in his arms and understand, understand me
Just call me Miss Understood
I'm just a girl who wants true love like anyone would
I'm Miss Understood
Isn't there a man who understands...
Miss Understood
I'm just a girl who wants true love like anyone would
I'm Miss Understood
Isn't there a man who understands...
Miss (Miss, Miss) Understood
I'm just a girl who wants true love like anyone would
I'm Miss Understood

Learning
I'm learning to say thank you.
And I'm learning to say please.
And I'm learning to use Kleenex,
Not my sweater, when I sneeze.
And I'm learning not to dribble.
And I'm learning not to slurp.
And I'm learning (though it sometimes really hurts me)
Not to burp.
And I'm learning to chew softer
When I eat corn on the cob.
And I'm learning that it's much
Much easier to be a slob.

Raised To Be Independent
I did not understand it then,
But I was in good hands...
When I was raised to be independent.
And learning at an early age,
What it takes to accept in life...
About those things I had to do,
And did not like!
I did not understand it then,
The taking on of responsibilities...
That seem to have no end.
The crying alone inside,
And not showing not a tear outside.
For fear an assessment of it,
Would earn another name to be called.
I did not understand it then,
How to be patient with an ignorance displayed...
At my expense.
Or...
An unconscious ignorance everyone pays,
For the dispense of it!
I did not understand it then,
But I was in good hands...
When I was raised to be independent.
And learning at an early age,
What it takes to accept about my life...
And those things I had to do,
But did not like!

What We See
Can we believe in our eyes when we see?
Is there a reason to understand for us to be?
Being can act like experience, and thoughts will dither,
Implying safe contracts and wise descriptions.
The understood men have a question to ask
And that is: Why do we live and then not?
As they are honoured by their own learning,
It frightens, the answer scares and breeds fear.
One is fearless and knows that death will accompany us
To the after-life, as a religion states, as people relate
And how children imagine.

Suddenly
Orbison/melson
Suddenly, my heart stood still
Suddenly, the sight of you gave me a thrill
Suddenly
Suddenly, i see you everywhere
Suddenly, all at once i seem to care for you
Suddenly
So suddenly i found you
To think you were near all the time
I've often been around you
I don't know how i could have been so blind
Suddenly, my world is new
Suddenly, suddenly there's only you
Suddenly
So suddenly i found you
To think you were near all the time
I've often been around you
I don't know how i could have been so blind
Suddenly, suddenly you're my dream come true
Suddenly, suddenly there's only you
So suddenly

In My Life
Written by ricky & kim wilde
Look for the strength you know you can feel
Search for the truth you know that is real
Then reach for the place you know they cant steal
And say, Im feeling good with my life
No point in letting life bring you down
Theres always something bad hangin round
Face up to trouble and stare it out
I know Im feeling good with my life
In my life - everything is feeling good
In my life - feeling like you know it should
In my life - cant you see its understood
Im feeling good with my life
No better place to start than with you
Get your head together then follow through
Its not what youre saying its what you do
I know Im feeling good with my life
Dont fantasize how your life could be
Make all your dreams a reality
Then there is nothing can bring you down
I know Im feeling good with my life
In my life - everything is feeling good
In my life - feeling like you know it should
In my life - cant you see its understood
Im feeling good with my life
Weve got to make it living together
Learning to share our lives
Weve got to speak from the heart
Find a new way to start
Thats something weve all got to realise
In my life

They don't understand
They don't understand,
What its like to be me.
They don't understand,
Why school is hard for me.
They don't understand,
Why I'm so skinny.
They don't understand,
Why I have no friends.
They don't understand,
What I need.
They don't understand,
Why I lie.
They don't understand,
Why life is hard.
They don't understand,
What life is like for me.
They don't understand,
Why I hurt.
They don't understand,
Why I have fears.
They don't understand,
Why I'm different.
I don't understand,
Why they don't like me.
I don't understand,
Why they don't except me.
I don't understand,
What they say.
I don't understand,
Why they don't undersatnd,
Me...

I Understood
If i ever asked for strength,
God must have given me difficulties,
They made me stronger instead.
Then I understood;
Sometimes He allow illness
So we care for ourselves.
If I ever begged for wisdom,
God must have granted me problems,
I think I hadst to solve.
Then I understood;
Our hearts 're broken,
So we be strong.
When asked for prosperity,
God gave me brain,
I had to think and think o' work.
Then I understood;
We fail other times,
For us to be humble.
In place of Courage,
I was given storms of danger,
Mine was to overcome.
Then I understood;
God might break our spirits,
In time to save our souls.
I called forth for favours,
Instead God made opportunities,
Up my way.
Then I understood;
Our paths 're made longer,
So we won't hit Walls.
I then asked for love,
But God gave me trouble stricken,
People. To help.
Then I understood;
Sometimes God snatch our best,
To make us live longer.
I
Then I understood something,
Happening sometime,
For some seasoned reason...,
II
I remember one time,
I broke my leg.
Now I understand;
God wanted,
Me not to fall in hole.
III
I recall another time,
My short younger brother,
Lost everything from the ground.
Now I understand;
He was to find them on shelves,
IV
When I received nothing I wanted,
God gave me everything I needed,
And that's His perfect work

Not Understood
Not understood, we move along asunder;
Our paths grow wider as the seasons creep
Along the years; we marvel and we wonder
Why life is life, and then we fall asleep
Not understood.
Not understood, we gather false impressions
And hug them closer as the years go by;
Till virtues often seem to us transgressions;
And thus men rise and fall, and live and die
Not understood.
Not understood! Poor souls with stunted vision
Oft measure giants with their narrow gauge;
The poisoned shafts of falsehood and derision
Are oft impelled 'gainst those who mould the age,
Not understood.
Not understood! The secret springs of action
Which lie beneath the surface and the show,
Are disregarded; with self-satisfaction
We judge our neighbours, and they often go
Not understood.
Not understood! How trifles often change us!
The thoughtless sentence and the fancied slight
Destroy long years of friendship, and estrange us,
And on our souls there falls a freezing blight;
Not understood.
Not understood! How many breasts are aching
For lack of sympathy! Ah! day by day
How many cheerless, lonely hearts are breaking!
How many noble spirits pass away,
Not understood.
O God! that men would see a little clearer,
Or judge less harshly where they cannot see!
O God! that men would draw a little nearer
To one another, -- they'd be nearer Thee,
And understood.

Understanding Late
I understood about my parents
Only after their deaths.
I understood about my siblings
Only after their parenthood.
I understand about my children
Only after my invalidity.
In case I am reborn,
I would not do wiser.

Simple rain
Suddenly life seems beautiful if the day starts with a shower rain.
Suddenly life seems unfair if the rain destroys your plans
Suddenly life seems bad if it rains too much.
Suddenly life seems difficult if it doesn’t rain at all.
Don’t blame the rain on how life is, life is what we make of it.
After all, rain is just water.

The Hands Of A Teacher
Optimism,
Optimism perished from the face of my earth
And then you came along, came along and swept me away,
She kissed me, as we stood on the edge,
The night made the day as we made for the bridge
It started raining hard, and I saw we may live to regret
No I never really understood
No I never really understood why,
Because Ive never been given,
Never been given two tries,
No I never really understood,
Understood why...
Pessimism,
Pessimism perished from the face of my earth,
And then you came along, came along and swept me away,
Did you miss me? did you miss me as we walked
Through the pain, attached the chain so you could
See me again
I started asking myself, did I teach you right?
No I never really understood
No I never really understood why,
Because Ive never been given,
Never been given two tries,
No I never really understood,
Understood why...
Understood why...
You came to me, you broke the bonds,
You set me free
And then the love that you promised me
Came a tumblin tumblin tumblin down
Into my hands...
No I never really understood
No I never really understood why,
Because Ive never been given,
Never been given two tries,
No I never really understood,
Understood why...
So teacher teach me...

We Have Been Learning From Life
We have been learning from life from the day we've learned to crawl
And our gift of life 'twould seem to me is our greatest gift of all
And those who believe they know it all to themselves only lie
For we will be learning from life until the day we die
And life is never easy for many it would seem
So many low in confidence and low in self esteem
Those who aspire to great things treat lack of success as defeat
So many disappointed people living on every street
Of every town and city and that is Worldwide
A lack of success for many goes with a lack of pride
And that's how it has always been and how it will remain
Without personal success many believe respect you cannot gain
We have been learning from life before we crawled on the bedroom floor
And we would be learning from life if we lived for ten thousand years or more.

Hollywood
You talk so loud, you talk so much and you talk so funny
But honey, what are you talkin about
Something bout being, being reimbursed
For every unregistered virus
Drainpipes are filled up with dirty rain
And the leisure train is speeding in the diamond lane
With electricity shut off again
Leaving the night-life only for the madmen
Oh my god
Theyve sold hollywood
Burned down my neighborhood
Even shot robin hood
And oh my god
I guess it was never understood
To understand brotherhood
Right from wrong
And the bad from the good
Well, everybodys got their own smoke-screens
With personal armies for everyone in between
With plastic rifles given to every team
What a beautiful dream, even bullets have guarantees
And oh my god
Theyve sold hollywood
Burned down my neighborhood
Even shot robin hood
And oh my god
I guess it was never understood
To understand brotherhood
Right from wrong
And the bad from the good
Theres the sweetest evil image detector
As sweet as nectar, an overrated candy dispenser
She dont give food to eat or anybody, anyplace to sleep
But she can tell you, what you can and what you cant create
And oh my god
Theyve sold hollywood
Burned down my neighborhood
Even shot robin hood
Oh my god
I guess it was never understood
To understand brotherhood
Right from wrong
And the bad from the good
And oh my god
Theyve sold hollywood
Burned down my neighborhood
Even shot robin hood
And oh my god
Guess it was never understood
To understand brotherhood
Right from wrong
And the bad from the good
