In South America, I heard the 8th Symphony of Beethoven. And the young conductor thought, Beethoven must be heroic. But this is piece which shouldn't be heroic. And this was such a misunderstanding, such a deep misunderstanding.

Another Reason Why I Don't Keep A Gun In The House
The neighbors' dog will not stop barking.
He is barking the same high, rhythmic bark
that he barks every time they leave the house.
They must switch him on on their way out.
The neighbors' dog will not stop barking.
I close all the windows in the house
and put on a Beethoven symphony full blast
but I can still hear him muffled under the music,
barking, barking, barking,
and now I can see him sitting in the orchestra,
his head raised confidently as if Beethoven
had included a part for barking dog.
When the record finally ends he is still barking,
sitting there in the oboe section barking,
his eyes fixed on the conductor who is
entreating him with his baton
while the other musicians listen in respectful
silence to the famous barking dog solo,
that endless coda that first established
Beethoven as an innovative genius.

I believe so, but at first he must know. He must know in which spirit Beethoven has composed this piece. He must try to study that. And he must find out in which station of life of Beethoven he did.

Roll Over Beethoven
Im gonna write a little letter,
Gonna mail it to my local dj.
Its a rockin rhythm record
I want my jockey to play.
Roll over beethoven, I gotta hear it again today.
You know, my temperatures risin
And the jukebox blows a fuse.
My hearts beatin rhythm
And my soul keeps on singin the blues.
Roll over beethoven and tell tschaikowsky the news.

Sittin down by the rhythm review.
Roll over beethoven rockin in two by two.

go get your lover, then reel and rock it.
roll it over and move on up just
a trifle further and reel and rock it,
roll it over,
roll over beethoven rockin in two by two.
Well, early in the mornin Im a-givin you a warnin
Dont you step on my blue suede shoes.
Hey diddle diddle, I am playin my fiddle,

Roll over beethoven and tell tschaikowsky the news.
You know she wiggles like a glow worm,
Dance like a spinnin top.
She got a crazy partner,
Oughta see em reel and rock.
Long as she got a dime the music will never stop.

What a Big Misunderstanding
What a big misunderstanding
that I got into on my own
(and I wanted to reconcile with you)
when I knocked in vain
with you not being home
and you appeared with someone else out of the dark.
What a big misunderstanding
that I got into on my own
(some will probably call me stupid)
and I wanted to curse,
even wanted to assault that bloke
when I saw you kissing him,
what a big misunderstanding
that I got into on my own

Misunderstanding
In this world
There is a big misunderstanding
Between the East and the West
Betwee men and women
Between Self and Other
Between ice and fire
And some
are trying
to solve
the big misunderstanding
some
good some
but some
but good some
Hope
to solve
the big misunderstanding
& all
& all

I've Been Missing You
It's not because I've just been caught
It's not as if I planned this
I didn't give a single thought
One big misunderstanding
I see how things look from your side
I see how you're hurting
The reason that I didn't hide
One big misunderstanding
So I blew it again just like I always do
It's too late for sorry

Art of Misunderstanding
Awkward silence, funny situation
Fatal mistake, disaster drama
Cold war, unfortunate tragedy
Misunderstanding could lead an irony
Wrong impression, lack of communication
Ego party, early judgment
Social gap, culture shock
Misunderstanding raise from intolerance
Same purpose, different perception
Same question, different talk
Same fear, different heart
Misunderstanding tests our character
In short period, in long term
The dark past, the uncertain future
Shaking the world, dividing people
Misunderstanding define where we lay our trust
Interesting love plot, mastermind crime
Underlying meaning, uncompleted sentence
Slice of life, sketch of comic
Misunderstanding is a human story

Ive Been Missing You
Its not because Ive just been caught
Its not as if I planned this
I didnt give a single thought
One big misunderstanding
I see how things look from your side
I see how youre hurting
The reason that I didnt hide
One big misunderstanding
So I blew it again just like I always do
Its too late for sorry, this much is true
I did what I did
Just to make my way through
One more day far away from you
And Ive been missing you
Its not the first wont be the last time
Ive been caught red-handed
To tell the truth I cannot lie
One big misunderstanding
I havent got an alibi
And I cant stop them talking
Cross my heart and hope to die
One big misunderstanding
So I blew it again just like I always do
For the things that I did Im saying sorry to you
But I did what I did and I paid my dues
Ive been missing you
Its not the first wont be the last time
Ive been caught red-handed
To tell the truth I cannot lie
One big misunderstanding
I havent got an alibi
And I cant stop them talking
I cross my heart and hope to die
One big misunderstanding
So I blew it again just like I always do
For the things that I did Im saying sorry to you

The reason can only be this: heroic poetry depends on an heroic age, and an age is heroic because of what it is, not because of what it does.

Beethoven Street
Baby used to be a rock n roller
In the night time
She used to use all of my money
To have a good time
I gave her plenty of good times
She gave me plenty of heartaches
She was planning a getaway
Oh take me
To beethoven street
Thats where I want to be
Yeah take me
To beethoven street
Thats where I want to be
Babys given up rock n roll
And I can hardly keep control
Take me to beethoven street
Mr. I want to be there
Who cut the power on you
I just dont know
Who pulled the switch her heartbeat
She wouldnt let me know
I gave her plenty of good times
She gave me plenty of heartaches
She was planning a getaway
Take me to beethoven street
Thats where I want to be
Take me to beethoven street
Mr. I want to be there
Who cut the power on you baby
I just dont know
Who pulled the power on you
I just dont know
I gave her plenty of good times
She gave me plenty of heartaches
She was planning a getaway
Take me to beethoven street
Thats where I want to be

Beethoven
Theres a tremor in the city but it looks all quiet
There is something awful brewing but there aint riots
Beethoven
You can read between the lines that there must be more
Youre alarmed but you dont know what youre waiting for
Beethoven
Beethoven, the boots are back in town
When ignorance and fear are closing mouths and ears
The skins are on their way when it gets dark in europe
Its just a state of mind, the blind leading the blind
Beethoven
Theres a scrawling on a tombstone
Judenschweine raus
Once again the racial fury is burning down the house
Beethoven
Theres a bleeding yellow man lying in the streets
But there isnt anybody doing anything
Beethoven, the boots are back in town
When ignorance and fear are closing mouths and ears
The skins are on their way when it gets dark in europe
Its just a state of mind, the blind leading the blind
And one grey day shall rise the flood no dikes will stem the heavy tides
When cold pierced feathered bodies scream
They fall as if the monstrous scythe of clouds had smashed them from the sky
The scattered squadron of mankind stabs right into the churned up ether
Of long forgotten birdless flights
Beethoven, the boots are back in town
The demons of the past will be replaced at last
There are smarter ones to stay, how can you stay away
From the order of disgrace, how can you close your eyes
Beethoven, the boots are back....
