Digital has obviously changed things a lot, but not all for the better as far as I'm concerned. Of course it's much more convenient and you're getting instant results, but to me it just lacks the finesse of a roll of film and it has a slightly superimposed feel.

Once the image was in the digital environment, one of the problems was, we had no means to reproduce the color spectrum, grey scale, and contrast that film produces, without converting the digital file to film, evaluating it, then going back and changing the digital image.

For example, Michael Mann's film Collateral - there is certain kinds of stories that lend themselves to digital photography. Some things are very raw stories that digital photography kind of lends itself to.

Let It Roll
Tried to write a letter
To tell you how I feel
But all I kept on writing
Was slipping on the tears from the day
When I was young and brave
Now all these hotel lobbies are filled with what's to me
Lonely midnight drivers
Drifting out to sea
And all those late night lovers
Don't make things better to me
So let it roll into me
Let it roll into you
Let it roll into me
Let it roll back into when I had you
So I'll watch the snow come calling
And I'll celebrate the spring
I'll feel the falls keep falling
And when the summers come
I will pretend that I don't notice
That this is when I notice most of all
So let it roll into me
Let it roll into you
Let it roll into me
Let it roll back into when I had you
And all you ever wanted for me
Was the time to understand
And all I ever wanted for you
Was to see me shining for you
And I wish that I could be back in the day that I could say
Let it roll
Let it roll into me
Let it roll
Let it roll into you
Let it roll back into when I had you

Swearing is like any other music... If it is not done well, if it is not done with a fine and discriminating art, and vitalized with gracious and heartborn feeling, it lacks beauty, it lacks charm, it lacks expression, it lacks nobleness, it lacks majesty...

The Film Of My Love
Co-starring you
And co-starring me
Starring us both together
The film of my love
Will travel the world
Forever and ever and ever
A back lot romance
A scripted affair
The screenplay a blessing from heaven
Were gone with the wind
On the orient express
To join the magnificent seven
The film of my love
Will travel the world
And travel the whole world over
The film of my love
Will travel the world
Over and over and over
The film of my love
Will travel the world
Over and over and over
Over and over and over again
Over and over and over
A close-up of yours
A long shot of mine
Superimposed together
Ill zoom in on you
With a love that is true
In cinemascope forever
A clapper board kiss
Theres an oscar in this
A hit or a miss whatever
A box office wedding
A premier for two
Well be on location forever
When pathe recall
The thrill of it all
Theyll edit us both together
A legend a classic
An epic of love
Captured on film forever
A lasting embrace
That time cant erase
Let them censor the wind
Or the weather
The film of my love
Will conquer the world
Forever and ever and ever
The film of my love
Will travel the world
And travel the whole world over
The film of my love
Will travel the world
Over and over and over
The film of my love
Will travel the world
Over and over and over
Over and over and over again
Over and over and over
Over and over and over

Dammit, I Changed Again
Hey, come inside
While I stand here acting bold
(cant stand to feel this way)
Clear out the cobwebs in my soul
This time I turn around
Things have changed
Now I dont feel the same
Start a fight
I cant defend
One more time
Damnit I changed again
Now I dont see
Things the way I did before
(cant stand to feel this way)
Things important yesterday
Dont matter anymore
It doesnt make any sense
To feel so different day to day
(cant stand to feel this way)
When nothings changed except for me
This time I turn around
Things have changed
Now I dont feel the same, yeah
Start a fight, kick a fit
One more time
Dammit, I changed again
Next time i...
Next time I turn around
Things have changed
Now I dont feel the same, yeah
Start a fight, kick a fit
One more time
Dammit, I changed again
This time I turn around
Things have changed
Now I dont feel the same, yeah
Start a fight, kick a fit
One more time
Dammit, I changed again
I see it

E-mail is far more convenient than the telephone, as far as I'm concerned. I would throw my phone away if I could get away with it.
There Is Nothing Like An Observation
How I know today times have changed?
People no longer laugh,
When they believe they have those 'things'...
That those who have not will never get!
Now today those who did not 'have',
What others 'had' and laughed...
Are less concerned,
About having their 'things' repossessed.
Like those with their noses,
High above their puffed up chests.
Or having their precious pretentions devalued,
Like those who used the have nots...
To validate the purpose of their foolishness.
How I know today times have changed?
There is nothing like an observation,
That details a bringing to another their reality.

[Chorus 1]
Digital, digital get down (get down) just you and me
(You may be) Twenty thousand miles away, but I can see ya
And baby, baby you can see me
Digital, digital get down (get down) just what we need
We can get together naturally
(We can) We can get together on the digital screen
[Justin]
Every time I'm sittin all alone girl
I can't wait to get you on the phone girl
So, pick it up, babe
I can see everything you do
Bouncin' me from satellite to satellite
I love the things you do for me so late tonight
So turn me on, yeah
It's like I'm right there next to you, yeah
[Chorus 2 - Justin]
Can we get connected?
I need some love and affection, baby
I'll call you on the phone
I hope that I get through
If you're in the mood and on the phone,
here's what you do: leave a message
You know the kind I like to get back to
[Repeat Chorus 1 with Justin's echoes]
Yeah
[JC]
I lose my mind just when you're speaking
I see you on the screen, I get to freaking
So, get down, babe
And I'll get down for you
I get so excited when I'm watching, girl
I can't wait to see you touch your body, girl
It's just me and you
So, we can do what we gotta do (yeah)
[Repeat Chorus 2 - JC]
[Repeat Chorus 1 with JC's echoes]
Digital, digital, digital, digital get down (get down)
Digital digital digital digital get down (get down)
[Spoken low]
Baby, baby we can do more than just talk
'Cause I can hear ya, hear ya, and I can see ya, see ya
Baby, baby we can do all that we want
We're getting nasty, nasty, we're getting freaky, freaky
Baby, baby we can do more than just talk
'Cause I can hear ya hear ya, and I can see ya, see ya
Baby, baby we can do all that we want
We're getting nasty, nasty, we're getting (oh, oh) digital

Roll With It
Roll with it (2x)
Oh yeah
Roll with it
You've got to
Roll with it
If you ever feel
Like no one cares
When you try your best
But you get nowhere
Don't give in
Cause good times will come again
Hey
When they criticize
Every move you make
And you've had as much
As you're gonna take
Don't you worry
Soon enough
Things will change
Ohhho
And when it seems as though
No one understands young man
(Understands young man)
Oh don't you let your head hang down
Young woman
Just stick to your plan
You've got to
Chorus:
Roll with it
That's what you gotta do
Roll with it
Yeah yeah
Roll with it
Oh yeah
You've got to
Roll with it
That's what you gotta do
Roll with it
Just roll with it
Roll with it
You've got to roll
Just roll with it
Everything will be fine
Just roll with it
It's gonna be alright
Just roll with it
Don't put yourself down
If you just can't find
Someone to trust
When you give your heart
But you don't get much
Don't you worry
The time is gonna come
Ooooh yeah
The whole world's school
So much to learn
So learn it well

Fiction
she's lost in coma where it's beautiful.
Intoxicated from the deep sleep, deep sleep.
Do you wonder what it's like living in a permanent imagination.
Sleeping to escape reality, but you like it like that.
Guilty by design, she's nothing more than fiction.
She dreams in digital, cause it's better than nothing.
Now that control is gone. it seems unreal.
She's dreaming in digital, cause it's better than nothing
Now that control is gone. it seems unreal.
She's dreaming in digital. she dreams in digital.
And your pixel army can't save you now.
My finger is on the kill switch.
I remember i used to compose your dreams, control your dreams.
And don't be afraid to expose yourself before i shut you down.
You made some changes since the virus caught you sleeping.
She's guilty by design. (cause it's better than nothing.)
Now that control is gone. it seems unreal.
She's dreaming in digital. (she's nothing more than fiction.)

It seems unreal.
She's dreaming in digital.

Stop Me If You Think Youve Heard This One Before
Stop me, oh, stop me
Stop me if you think that youve
Heard this one before
Stop me, oh, stop me
Stop me if you think that youve heard this one before
Nothings changed
I still love you, oh, I still love you
...only slightly, only slightly less than I used to, my love
I was delayed, I was way-laid
An emergency stop
I smelt the last ten seconds of life
I crashed down on the crossbar
And the pain was enough to make
A shy, bald, buddhist reflect
And plan a mass murder
Who said lied Id to her ?
Oh, who said Id lied because I never ? I never !
Who said Id lied because I never ?
I was detained, I was restrained
And broke my spleen
And broke my knee
(and then he really laced into me)
Friday night in out-patients
Who said Id lied to her ?
Oh, who said Id lied ? - because I never, I never
Who said Id lied ? - because I never
Oh, so I drank one
It became four
And when I fell on the floor ...
...i drank more
Stop me, oh, stop me
Stop me if you think that youve
Heard this one before
Stop me, oh, stop me
Stop me if you think that youve heard this one before
Nothings changed
I still love you, oh, I still love you
...only slightly, only slightly less than I used to, my love

You may feel
That your life
Is full of sorrow
And sometimes
Unbearable
But you just
Cannot fly away
When you
Feel
Like flying
In any instant
Since you
Are not a bird
I may feel the
Same way
Too
And want
To swim
And slip away
In any instant
To my liking
In the deepest
Sea
But I am
Not a fish
so why
not just
stay and
wait
and see? .
