Writers seldom choose as friends those self-contained characters who are never in trouble, never unhappy or ill, never make mistakes and always count their change when it is handed to them.

I'm Still Going To Continue To Be Me
stop trying to change me,
into who you want me to be,
i don't want to make,
the same mistakes you did,
look where it has gotten you,
you don't like it,
you so unhappy with your life,
that you trying to make me,
just as unhappy,
misery loves company,
let me grow and be myself,
stop trying to hold me back,
just because you afraid,
to chase your own dreams,
i don't mean to sound mean,
but it true,
let me make mistakes and learn,
our lives are not the same,
what you don't understand,
i might understand,
we been through different things,
we will never be the same,
i want to be me,
but it seems like i am held back,
from doing what i want to do,
it will be nice to have support,
but instead i'm left with,
judgemental remarks,
but that's okay,
i now see clearly,
so why you too busy hating,
i'm still going to continue,
to do me,
it what i good at best.

We all know nations that can be identified by the flight of writers from their shores. These are regimes whose fear of unmonitored writing is justified because truth is trouble. It is trouble for the warmonger, the torturer, the corporate thief, the political hack, the corrupt justice system, and for a comatose public. Unpersecuted, unjailed, unharrassed writers are trouble for the ignorant bully, the sly racist, and the predators feeding off the world’s resources. The alarm, the disquiet, writers raise is instructive because it is open and vulnerable, because if unpoliced it is threatening. Therefore the historical suppression of writers is the earliest harbinger of the steady peeling away of additional rights and liberties that will follow.

How Soon We Forget
(johnny van zant -- robert white johnson -- donnie van zant -- pat buchanan)
Every time I think I got it all figured out
Then I draw a blank and my whole world crashes down
So many people have got it worse than me
But that could change tomorrow, aint no guarantee
(chorus)
How soon we forget
To count every blessing
If you think you got it bad take a look around
How soon we forget
That life is one big lesson
Still we make the same mistakes time and time again
How soon we forget
Got a freind of mine who says hes run all out of luck
But hell be fine, cause he just aint drunk enough
The world is empty when youre slammin those shots down
How can you be happy, son when the devils hangin round
How soon we forget
To count every blessing
If you think you got it bad take a look around
How soon we forget
That life is one big lesson
Still we make the same mistakes time and time again
How soon we forget
How soon we forget
Just remember, thank God youre here today
If you got the will you can find a way
How soon we forget... oh, baby
How soon we forget
To count every blessing
If you think you got it bad take a look around
How soon we forget
That life is one big lesson
Still we make the same mistakes time and time again
Theres a message to this madness here my freind
Will we ever learn before the story ends
Soon we all forget
How soon we forget
Soon we forget.. ooh
Take a look around and you will see
Soon we all forget... oh
So many people have got it worse than me
Oh.. cant you see
How soon we all forget

Litlle Girl Blue
Sit there, hmm, count your fingers.
What else, what else is there to do ?
Oh and I know how you feel,
I know you feel that youre through.
Oh wah wah ah sit there, hmm, count,
Ah, count your little fingers,
My unhappy oh little girl, little girl blue, yeah.
Oh sit there, oh count those raindrops
Oh, feel em falling down, oh honey all around you.
Honey dont you know its time,
I feel its time,
Somebody told you cause you got to know
That all you ever gonna have to count on
Or gonna wanna lean on
Its gonna feel just like those raindrops do
When theyre falling down, honey, all around you.
Oh, I know youre unhappy.
Oh sit there, ah go on, go on
And count your fingers.
I dont know what else, what else
Honey have you got to do.
And I know how you feel,
And I know you aint got no reason to go on
And I know you feel that you must be through.
Oh honey, go on and sit right back down,
I want you to count, oh count your fingers,
Ah my unhappy, my unlucky
And my little, oh, girl blue.
I know youre unhappy,
Ooh ah, honey I know,
Baby I know just how you feel.

No More Trouble (feat. Erykah Badu)
[Bob Marley]
(We don't need) No, we don't need (no more trouble) no more trouble!
(We don't need no more trouble)
Wo! Oh-oh-oh!
(We don't need) We don't need no (no more) trouble!
We don't need no trouble!
(We don't need no more trouble)
Make love and not war! 'Cause we don't need no trouble.
What we need is love (love)
To guide and protect us on. (on)
If you hope good down from above, (love)
Help the weak if you are strong now. (love)
We don't need no trouble;
What we need is love. Oh, no!
We don't need - we don't need - no more trouble!
Lord knows, we don't need no trouble!
(We don't need) We don't need trouble (no more trouble) -
no more trouble - no more trouble!
Seek happiness! (...) Oh, ...!
Come on, you all and speak of love. (...) Oh, yeah!
We don't need no trouble;
What we need is love, now. (What we need is love!)
(We don't need) Oh, we don't need no more trouble!
We don't need, no - we don't need no trouble!
We don't (need) - no, brothers and sisters ... (no more trouble!)
We don't need no trouble; we don't need no trouble!
We don't need no trouble!
What we need is love!
We don't need - we don't need no more - we don't need -
no more trouble - we don't need no more trouble!
Trouble we don't need (we don't need),
(We don't need) Lord, knows! -
we don't need no more war (no more trouble).
No more trouble - we don't need no more - more trouble! /fadeout/

They Don't Make Them Like They Used To
They dont make em like they used to, those guys
And I cant get used to the way that it is today
No one to look up to, hard times, and though I try
I just cant find the reason these days
And it seems like the seasons are passing me
Theyre going by, nothing to hold on to, rough times.
And it goes on, so count on me, and Ill count on you
You can lean on me, two of us stronger
We wont be alone any longer
Now and for always we will be good friends
Count on me, into any storm, were gonna survive it
Into any fire, well carry on.
Know that one day you and me will both be old friends
And well sit on the sofa and talk about how
They dont make em like they used to, youll see
As time goes on, so count on me, and Ill count on you
In a world like this, when nothings sure
And people are afraid, Ill be here for
Now and for always we will be good friends
Count on me, they dont make it now like they used to
Theyre not gonna last like you and me, Ill be there.
Oh, always we will be, year by year
Depend on me, into any storm, were gonna survive it
Into any fire, just count on me, Ill be there
Oh, tough guys, you and me, year by year
They will see, they dont make it now like they used to
Theyre not gonna last like you and me...

How big is your imagination
How much do you dream
Have you ever had a vison that seems so far to reach
But I ain't trying to preach to you
But I'm really concorned about the road you choose
Where are you going
What are you doing
What are you choosing
Why don't you
Let the melody you hear
Whisper softly in your ear
Telling you, you can do anything if you believe
Let the softness of my voice remind you that you got a choice
You can acheive anything if you believe
Now I know you gotta make your own decisions
You gotta make your own mistakes
But I'm watching you as you do what you do
And I see myself as I watch you cause
I did what you're doing when I was a kid
And I made the same mistakes
I been where you been
But you can change your destiny
If you listen to the words that I say
Chorus
Vamp: Anything is possible
Reachable, attainable
If you see your self as God sees you
I hope you're listening cause..

Call On Me
The feelin is clear
Clear as a blue sky on a sunny day
Everything was you
cause no one made me feel
The way I felt with you
Call on me cause
I love you
You know I do
You love me too
Then came a change
When I said I would soon be leavin you
Nothin else to do
Please remember Ill never lose the thought of you
Call on me cause
I love you
You know I do
You love me too
Youve got to find
Someone else to somehow take my place
Share his love with you
But if you need a friend
You can always count on me
Count on me cause
I love you
You know I do
You love me too
You can count on me oh
You can count on me
You can count on me baby
You can count on me
You can count on me oh
You can count on me
You can count on me baby
You can count on me
You can count on me oh
You can count on me
You can count on me baby
You can count on me
You can count on me oh
You can count on me

Its Gonna Rain
Somethin that you must know (mmm...)
Theres somethin that you must know (Ive been waitin on you)
Its somethin that you must know (come on in)
Its somethin that you must know (and stay for a while)
There is somethin that you must know (can I talk to you)
There is somethin that you must know (say whats on my mind)
Here is somethin that you must know (ooh, boy)
Imma tell ya, imma tell ya, imma tell ya (ooh, listen to me)
Theres somethin in my soul aint right
I cans sleep at night
Wonderin when the change gon? come
Im feelin that Im not the only one
Tell me when I turn you off
Doctor say its not my fault
All the neighbors stop and stare
My pastor says to stay in prayer
It will rain (oh...ho...)
Therell be pain (only for a little while)
Trouble will come (yeah, they will)
Understand (ooh...)
Count it on joy (you gotta count)
Mornin will come (after the rain)
The sun will shine (yeah, yeah)
Keep your head high (mmm, uh-huh)
I cant believe the way you talk
Seems you wanna call it off
Friends see you treatin me like dirt
What happened to better or for worse
I need answers (can you tell me)
Too much pressure (too, too much, too bad)
I dont understand you (oh...whoa...whoa...)
Do I really miss you (said it will)
It will rain (yeah, yeah)
Therell be pain (but only for a little while)
Trouble will come (oh, yeah...yeah...)
Understand (count it on)
Count it on joy (yeah, yeah, yeah)
Mornin will come (after the darkness)
The sun will shine (sun will shine)
Keep your head high (yeah)
Oh, Ive tried [tried to leave you]
But, I [boy, I love you]
I cant let go [seems I cant let go]
Oh...whoa...
Oh...oh...oh...whoa...
I dont ever wanna lose my baby
But this pain just drives me crazy
Feels like Im goin insane
But I gotta be strong cause it will rain
It will rain (some times there will be pain)
Therell be pain (some times troubles will come)
Trouble will come (oh...well, you gotta)
Understand (oh, count it on joy)
Count it on joy (oh...yeah)
Mornin will come (after the rain)
The sun will shine (so keep your head up)
Keep your head high (cause God will take care of you)
It will rain (oh, yes, he will)
Therell be pain (some times there will be pain)
Trouble will come (oh...whoa...ho...)
Understand (count it on joy)
Count it on joy (oh...ho...)
Mornin will come (after the rain it will)
The sun will shine (the sun will shine)
Keep your head high (ooh...ooh...ooh...)
It will rain

Since I was there in the very beginning, I know the history of the characters. So, I make comments about the tone and sometimes remind the writers that we've done that before.

Trouble
Im in a place where nothing ever happens
Ill try one day to walk away
But for now Ill hand around
I am a fool without exception
I break every rule
But I never break away
(trouble) - its walking my way
I feel it moving closer day after day
(trouble) - Im talking to you
Its getting hot in here but what can I do
Sometime, someplace Ill make it happen
Yours is the face, to help me set this time ablaze
Ive always thought theres no protection
Youll walk through the door
And Ill never want for more
(trouble) - again and again
Its not so simple and I never know when
(trouble) - for me and for you
The troubles double now were fighting for two
Well take this place well make it happen
Well leave them behind
Well leave them all to change their minds
The trouble is with the solution
Ones not so strong, but with two of us we cant go wrong
(trouble) - Im talking to you
Its getting hot in here but what can I do
(trouble) - again and again
Its not so simple and I never know when
(trouble) - Im talking to you
Its getting hot in here but what can I do

Deeds Done They Do To Leave
Don't you believe people make mistakes?
And should be forgiven for those they make?
'Sure.
I've made quite a few myself.
And not one did I make,
Was an intention to undermine someone else,
Consciously.
Nor did I,
With a premeditation done...
Inflict sorrow on anyone.
Those are not 'mistakes'.
That is a remorse received for a thing done,
Now bringing feelings of guilt and grief.
Feelings of guilt that brings one grief,
Is a payback.
And those are divinely distributed.
Mistakes can be corrected.
Heartaches and 'breaks'...
Are way beyond my jurisdiction to mend.
They require much prayer and faith.
And that is what I have relied on to keep my head up,
To protect from those of destructive forces.
So those who choose to say,
They should be forgiven for making mistakes.
And expect a forgiveness done...
Are 'consciously' approving their own devious activities.
That is the way I see deeds done they do to leave.
With expectations to continue their deceptions.
After an appropriate forgiveness has been delivered.'
Those are not mistakes.
And there is quite a difference.'

Standard between the equals
A speaker and a listener, poor
In language, might make mistakes in their talks.
Mistakes are not known to them as mistakes.
Both enjoy the talk without any itch.
A raw woman appeals to a raw man.
Two children and two adults play chess.
Some sing to friends and some in a concert.
Standard is according to the circle.

Trouble
Trouble in the city, trouble in the farm,
You got your rabbits foot, you got your good-luck charm.
But they cant help you none when theres trouble.
Trouble,
Trouble, trouble, trouble,
Nothin but trouble.
Trouble in the water, trouble in the air,
Go all the way to the other side of the world, youll find trouble there.
Revolution even aint no solution for trouble.
Trouble,
Trouble, trouble, trouble,
Nothin but trouble.
Drought and starvation, packaging of the soul,
Persecution, execution, governments out of control.
You can see the writing on the wall inviting trouble.
Trouble,
Trouble, trouble, trouble,
Nothin but trouble.
Put your ear to the train tracks, put your ear to the ground,
You ever feel like youre never alone even when theres nobody else around?
Since the beginning of the universe mans been cursed by trouble.
Trouble,
Trouble, trouble, trouble,
Nothin but trouble.
Nightclubs of the broken-hearted, stadiums of the damned,
Legislature, perverted nature, doors that are rudely slammed.
Look into infinity, all you see is trouble.
Trouble,
Trouble, trouble, trouble,
Nothin but trouble.

How About You
If someone showed you the way
Would you take the wheel and steer?
It hurts me that your not ashamed
Of what you're doing here
If they jumped off a bridge
Would you meet them on the ground?
Or would you try and claim
It never made a sound?
Everyone plays the hand they're dealt
And learns to walk through life themselves
Not everything in life is handed on a plate
When people think your words are true
It doesn't matter what you do
I sold my soul to get here
How 'bout you?
so you choose to force your hand
What a strange way to make friends
And you always change the rules
so the drama never ends
And you blindly go through life
Judging only but it's worth
Just try not to forget
That the meek inherit earth
Everyone plays the hand they're dealt
And learns to walk through life themselves
Not everything in life is handed on a plate
When people think your words are true
It does'nt matter what you do
I sold my soul to get here
How 'bout you?
So please don't take offence
This is just a point of view
'Cause I'm the only one who
Will say these things to you
Everyone plays the hand they're dealt
And learns to walk through life themselves
Not everything in life is handed on a plate
When people think your words are true
It doesn't matter what you do
I sold my soul to get here
How 'bout you?

My Best Friend
We make friends in school.
Best friends. That's cool!
Things change when
in the end
Big blue marble.
Career world rule.
Success or trouble,
Spinning whirlpool.
Losing touch.
Life is such..
Best friends lost forever?
Never say never.
Lost and found, re-connect
A hundred over trekked.
Social media, we met.
Reunion we set.
Revisit again
Friendships regain.
A Thought For Your Anniversary
Don't count your decade
By the days that fade
Don't count your years
By the falling tears
Don't count your weeks
By the days that were bleak
Don't count your days
By the trouble's ways
Instead count your decades
By the things you have made
Count your years
By joys and cheers
Count your weeks
When you helped out a meek
And count your days
By cheers and prayers
That was sent for both of you
Along with God's love that is true
Because you're starting another year
Of peace and blessings, love and care.

Keeping Friends Like These
It's important to have friends.
Not just associates...
But true friends.
The ones that will tell you,
What you don't want to hear...
Regardless of your fears.
The ones who are upfront,
And share what is on their minds.
The ones you might have disagreements with...
From time to time.
It's important to have friends.
The ones you can count on through thick and thin.
The ones who are around,
When marriages and relationships come to an end.
The ones who are there...
Caring with a warm shoulder in your despair.
The ones who refuse to choose,
To compare their blues...
As if they can and have walked in your shoes.
But true friends who can be found...
To lift you up when you are down.
Friends like this...
Know when you need them around!
And no one has to ask them to leave...
When you've become impossible to please.
Keeping friends like these,
Is to your benefit!

Four Main Types of Writers (personal opinion)
The Lonely Writer
Some writings tell me
This person is lonely
And is reaching out
For the touch of a friendly comment
These writers are sad, solitary,
Isolated, but good persons
And quite often very good writers
The needy juvenile writer
Some writings contain words
Or language meant to shock
And to offend.
These writers are lonely also
But in a different way.
These writers are simply saying
Like a little child
“hey! I exist! Someone better
Acknowledge me! ”
These writers can often write well
But usually don’t, can’t, or choose not to
The Spite Writer
This writer can be of either gender
But seems to be in a female majority
They’ve been spurned or rejected
Two-timed or lied to.
And they are going to vent their ire
In the most public way they can.
These writers can also be very good writers
But too often let their anger get in the way.
The Religious Writer
These writers show people passionate
And zealously devoted to singing the praises
Of the Lord and goodness and charity.
They’re probably austere, honest people
Who almost always write very well.
For the most part these writers seem
To want to spread the word and
At the same time tend to be rather singular
In the subject matter of their writings,
Rarely attempting other genres.
