The working classes were becoming more and more sharply aware of the complex causes of international malaise.

Run From Malaise
Run from malaise.
That vague sense,
Of lost vitality.
Don't let the chase of malaise,
Quicken with a pace,
That fades away your energy.
Run from malaise quickly!
And insist it does not exist.
Once malaise becomes recognized,
Difficult it is to resist.
Since malaise has a way of staying around.
With no getting rid of it.

At Leeds the idea of an international labour organization appeared in a trade-union text which also drew attention to the danger to the working classes inherent in the existence of international capitalist competition.

We support every effort to combat international terrorism through the formulation of international conventions and hope that the international community will take further steps to improve the anti-terrorism international legal framework.
A Sane Revolution
If you make a revolution, make it for fun,
don't make it in ghastly seriousness,
don't do it in deadly earnest,
do it for fun.
Don't do it because you hate people,
do it just to spit in their eye.
Don't do it for the money,
do it and be damned to the money.
Don't do it for equality,
do it because we've got too much equality
and it would be fun to upset the apple-cart
and see which way the apples would go a-rolling.
Don't do it for the working classes.
Do it so that we can all of us be little aristocracies on our own
and kick our heels like jolly escaped asses.
Don't do it, anyhow, for international Labour.
Labour is the one thing a man has had too much of.
Let's abolish labour, let's have done with labouring!
Work can be fun, and men can enjoy it; then it's not labour.
Let's have it so! Let's make a revolution for fun!

But at the same time I went down into the mines with working miners who are still young men, younger than I am, who are aware that their working life is coming to an end and they feel suddenly cut off.

Accepting To Do It Is Not A Trick
A phase of malaise has taken place.
Aspirations to remove it,
Has exhausted inspiration.
Those with faith and outreaching done,
Are looked upon as dissenters.
But this has to be overcomed.
A phase of malaise has taken place.
Aspirations to remove it,
Has exhausted inspiration.
Some say it is much to late.
And what appears on the horizon,
Is an introduction of an ill fate.
But illusions embraced stay as they are.
If invited into minds,
Believing what appears can not be barred.
But a barring done is a possibility!
If one refuses what one is told is meant to be.
As an accepted reality.
A phase of malaise has taken place.
Aspirations to remove it,
Has exhausted inspiration.
But this too shall pass and be overcomed.
When the feeding to a mind...
Seeks to witness a happiness done.
It's just that simple!
And accepting to do it is not a trick.

Qualm and Quandary
Glacial icicles heralding the season
Pangs sharply with the shuddering
Of icy sharpness, sepulchral sensation
That faints along with the listening.
The lithe bridge stretched, frost and locked
From where the street lights disappear,
I stood steady like a glacial rock
In obverse to your brewing fear.
I sense your warmth on the frozen floor
Ambivalent in crossing the bridge for
You're blinded by the thick haze or
Your valor froze with the hushed clamor.
The bridge winds like a gyroscope
A complex road, a spinning wheel
Whirs sharply with shrouded hope
Steadfast and take the reel.
Whatever is not whoever's will
Catch the flickering lights of amber
When the bridge burns in the winter chill
Or we'll leave our post and seek to where
The point where we shall not betray
And the storm shall clear with apologetic sympathy
From where you are,
To where I'll be.

Complex
She is complex,
Her smile and wink,
Changing a mind in a heartbeat,
A provocative smile clouds your sight,
Lust burning away your life,
Want, addiction, never stopping,
Never stopping until you find,
The complex woman,
The complex woman that haunts your thoughts,
She hides in the corner of your heart,
And creeps up when she's around
The complex woman's secrets never revealed,
In this vast world,
In this fog,
In this fog of mind,
The complex woman stands,
Waiting for a chance,
One.. More... Chance

Well, I probably, I guess first became aware of the whole, what I call the nuclear complex or weapons work those kinds of things, right out of law school.
I don't admire Freud as much as some people do. Imagine Shakespeare being aware of the Oedipal complex when he wrote Hamlet. It would have been a disaster.

A Striving After Wind
- All things are full of weariness; a man cannot utter it.
(Ecclesiastes)
Malaise stamped on evenings like this ripens romance:
Wisdom becomes our sad bohemia, and we are clowns.
We laugh at what night disgorges - the gilded askance -
But night defines shadows twixt dancer and the dance;
We are cynics grown old, now satyrs of the lounge
Malaise-stamped on evenings like this. Ripens romance
When we, Simon-like, doubt wine and whore’s relevance?
They, too, have time who walk the streets, liven towns
We laugh at. What night disgorges (the gilded askance)
Hounds us, we them, arguing the grip of night and trance
Makes of us involuntary heroes but our bravura drowns,
Malaise-stamped, into evenings like this. Ripens romance.
Romance is talk of God and lady’s drink, a dash of Launce-
Lot, which, too, has time as we have time for cups and daunce
We laugh at. What night disgorges (the gilded askance)
This painful laughter? This wastefulness of remembrance?
We have become martyrs of meaning yet must be clowns
Malaise-stamped on evenings like this. Ripens romance.
We laugh at what night disgorges: the gilded askance.

Love Working On You
(jim collins/craig wiseman)
You woke up this morning
Changes were taking place
You looked in the mirror
A smile was all over your face
cause out of nowhere
Someone was there
Who dared to climb
Those walls you made
Its exciting, a little frightening
But girl dont you be afraid
Thats just the love working
Love working on you
Thats just the love working
Working on pulling you through
Cant even remember
All the sorrow that you left behind
Its a brand new day
Theres a bright new way
And your tears have turned into wine
You never forget
When your eyes met
Or just how clearly you could see
Where the turns are deep in your heart
That lead you to believe
Thats just the love working
Love working on you
Thats just the love working
Working on pulling you through
All of the while you felt forsaken
And all of the while
Loves been waiting, waiting
Suddenly you see how it could be
If we all only felt this way
And for a while girl you can see this world
Looking through the eyes of fate
Thats just the love working
Love working on you
Thats just the love working
Working on pulling you through
Thats just the love working
Love working on you
Thats just the love working
Working on pulling you through
Thats just the love working on you
Thats just the love working
Working on pulling you through
