Save for minor ailments and accident, my battalion is practically immune from sickness; colds come and go as a matter of course, sprains and cuts claim momentary attention, but otherwise the health of the battalion is perfect.

The battalion, the whole battalion was affected by the two killed just within a week of being there, and I think that that pulled everybody up to make them realise that this was a very serious business.

Australia Today 1916

They came from the lower levels
Deep down in the Brilliant mine;
From the wastes where the whirlwind revels,
Whirling the leaves of pine.
On the western plains, where the Darling flows,
And the dust storms wheel and shift,
The teamster loosened his yokes and bows,
And turned his team adrift.

On the western stations, far and wide,
There's many an empty pen,
For the "ringers" have cast the machines aside
And answered the call for men.

On the lucerne flats where the stream runs slow,
And the Hunter finds the sea,
The women are driving the mowers now,
With the children at their knee.

For the men have gone, as a man must go,
At the call of the rolling drums;
For the men have sworn that the Turks shall know
When the old battalion comes.

Column of companies by the right,
Steady in strong array,
With the sun on the bayonets gleaming bright,
The battalion marched away.

They battled, the old battalion,
Through the toil of the training camps,
Sweated and strove at lectures,
By the light of the stinking lamps.

Marching, shooting, and drilling;
Steady and slow and stern;
Awkward and strange, but willing
All of their job to learn.

Learning to use the rifle;
Learning to use the spade;
Deeming fatigue a trifle
During each long parade.

Till at last they welded
Into a concrete whole,
And there grew in the old battalion
A kind of battalion's soul.

Brotherhood never was like it;
Friendship is not the word;
But deep in that body of marching men
The soul of a nation stirred.

And like one man with a single thought
Cheery and confident;
Ready for all that the future brought,
The old battalion went.

Column of companies by the right,
Steady in strong array,
With the sun on the bayonets gleaming bright,
The battalion marched away.

How shall we tell of the landing
By the hills where the foe were spread,
And the track of the old battalion
Was marked by the Turkish dead?

With the dash that discipline teaches,
Though the hail of the shrapnel flew,
And the forts were raking the beaches,
And the toll of the dead men grew.

They fixed their grip on the gaunt hillside
With a pluck that has won them fame;
And the home-folks know that the dead men died
For the pride of Australia's name.

Column of companies by the right,
To the beat of the rolling drums;
With honours gained in a stirring fight
The old battalion comes!

A pencil and rubber are of more use to thought than a battalion of assistants. To happiness the same applies as to truth: one does not have it, but is in it.

Position Of The Careprovider

Neglecting one's own health,
Is not intentionally done...
When one is focused upon,
Being there for others.
And caring for themselves,
Is not a priority that comes.

In fact...
People are often quite stunned,
When it is revealed someone like this...
Becomes the one sick and needing attention.
Since those who take a position of the careprovider,
Are most often themselves the ones neglected.

'They said not one thing about feeling ill.
Or needing assistance.'

To whom would they tell?
And who would think of their sickness,
As being 'that' serious?

'The last time I saw them,
They appeared to be in perfect health.'

Oh?
And when was that?

'It was recently.
Maybe two or three years ago now.
And I am closer to them than a relative.'

Perhaps that explains their reluctance,
To say anything to anyone.
With an eliminating of the gossip,
And concentrating on a healing...
That can be quicker done.
Without rumors of a false diagnosis.

Cameraman Diary

compelled he was compelled
i have never seen him like that before
what is it what gets into our heads
when we see something horrible
a horrible accident on the highway
something keeps us from driving on
something holds us
but we don't stop to help
we stop to look

by now we become part of it 24/7
it's strange now looking at things
seeing things tru a lens
a glass rose colored or shaded black
u become immune your suppose to be affected but ur not
i used to think it's just you out there the viewers
but it's not it's us aswell
the shooters we become immune to
so what ever happens around us
no matter how horrible it is
we just wind up taking it all a stride

just another day just another death

Too Many Aches And Ailments At Once

TOO MANY ACHES AND AILMENTS AT ONCE

Too many aches and ailments at once
A remedy for one causes new problems with another-
Tiredness is all-

Death is not feared-
Is it cowardly to want a way out?

One wills oneself to be courageous-
This thing is tried
And then another tried
One pain down another irritation up -

I cough and I ache and I long to rest
A poem cannot end the pains
Writing is only a minor distraction-

It is not good to be sick
And less good when one is old
Will I ever be alright again?

I have gotten out of this before
I will this time get out of it again-

But in the years to come?

When It Cuts

cannot justify your envy
But I will be understanding when you stay
Then I will satisfy you in every (way)
But I'm not feeling coherent when you say
When it cuts, it cuts, it cuts hard
And I
When it cuts, it cuts, it cuts hard
And I die again
Again
Though I'm right, I don't think I'll win this fight
But I'm trying though it's ripping me inside
Just in case that I'm taking up your space
I'll be feeling too, whatever's left inside
When it cuts, it cuts, it cuts hard
And I
When it cuts, it cuts, it cuts hard
And I die again
I can't go on
I'm not that strong
I'm so alone
You just gotta set me free
I'm still living day, no way
I don't care what you say
Your eyes dispise my lies
Just say goodbye
When it cuts, it cuts, it cuts hard
And I
When it cuts, it cuts, it cuts hard
And I die again
Again, again
Waste your breath

A Representative from the Hell

For the current crisis they have sent an intellectual to the you and O,
The letter says 'Mr.Coffe we are old friends that's why I sent this gentleman and he is a former rebel.
We can deploy our battalion too attach to your peace keeping force,
It's up to you my dear,
From my side I'll be ready at anytime.

Marching thus at night, a battalion is doubly impressive. The silent monster is full of restrained power; resolute in its onward sweep, impervious to danger, it looks a menacing engine of destruction, steady to its goal, and certain of its mission.

Carrion

a Enemy soldier lies motionless
and his limbs are twisted,
reaching for the last
energy of live
and a hand still holds a gun.

Blood and guts
are splattered about,
where a mortar bomb
hit home
and some flies gather.

The strong sulphur smell
mixed with fried human
burns my nose,
where smoke rises
from a shot out
enemy battle tank.

Another tank stand moveless
with its barrel
still aiming somewhere
and the remains
of its occupants hatched inside.

About a hundred Cuban tanks
and twice that much
enemy armoured cars,
stand lifeless in the African bush.

The battle scene is a graveyard
and my Ratel tank destroyer drives past,
to cross the Lomba river.

Before nightfall I fight
the darkness of my soul
and struggle with God
and to this day,
still no one can answer why.

Finally my hope has gone!

Have you seen or given a look!
There is gigantic monster on the hill
With a very sharp weapon
He cuts, cuts with precision
Every thing every ism one by one
Finally he got comparatively the bigger one
Who says……..
Matter comes from matter
Matter goes to matter
Energy comes from energy,
Energy goes to energy
Nothing more or nothing less
We have to accept it…!

The monster in me feels very thirsty
And wants some worm water of knowledge
If not from the end but from the origin of energy
I can not provide him as I do not know
How deep or how high is the place,
Where the origin of every thing including energy lies?
He got very angry, every now and then pushes me hard
To stop preaching or request me to be shut up.
Other wise he will do the same what he has done with others.
Finally my hope has gone!
But pleased some one has come
To save the humanity from the misguiding monsters.

Fundamental of Liar Chapter LXXXII: Accident

It’s not a terrorist attack
It’s not a battle of war
It’s just an accident

It’s not natural disaster
It’s not global tragedy
It’s just an accident

It’s not a conspiracy theory
It’s not a character murder
It’s just an accident

It’s not a careless mistake
It’s not a wrong decision
It’s just an accident

It’s not a misfortune
It’s not a twisted fate
It’s just an accident

It’s not a planned piracy
It’s not a suicide party
It’s just an accident

It’s not a mechanical failure
It’s not a human error
It’s just an accident

It’s not a crash
It’s not a downfall
It’s just an accident

I Decided To Be

I am moved by the argument
And would prefer to comment
Not out of any religious concern
But loosing of life in turn

No field is immune from contamination
Daily some exposures are made in this relation
We are supplied with inferior quality
As animals are infested and killed with cruelty

Its minimum use with care is acceptable
Quality assurance can’t be debatable
Apart from compromising the health standards
It is playing with the quality of sub-standards

I belong to a group which believes in non violence
To kill innocent animal is taken as rare incidence
“Live and let others live” is corner stone policy
Not even animals are considered as foe or enemy

We have help line service
You can call it as mercy device
You dial for any accident
They will rush to the sport in a moment

If you are tolerant and patient to human beings
No misery will be caused for anything
This will give you little thought of becoming considerate
You remain with the movement and keep yourself upto date

Your assertion is right when you proclaim
Why to kill animals when we have alternative to claim?
Live stocks are integral part of any system
We must protect and kindly save them

Test once only the vegetarian dish
You will forget the delicious test of fish
Easy to digest and in abundance with variety
Enough of guarantee to protect health with surety

I may not be able to influence
Yet it leaves behind some thought presence
Millions of people live on vegetables
You won’t find place for reserve tables

Mr.Perfect

Mr. Perfect
By: Jean Pullman

Your smile it warms my soul
Your touch makes me lose all control
Your personality is too good to be true
Your looks I can’t begin to explain what they do.

CHORUS
You’re Mr. Perfect in every way
You become more perfect with every day
You’re Mr. Perfect no matter what they say
You’re Mr. Perfect you blow me away
You are so perfect to me.

Every single thing you do
Makes it impossible to forget you
You are the only one that I can truly say
Is perfect in every way
Maybe that’s why you can’t be
Not with her but with me
Because your perfect and of course you’re taken
Because of you my hearts forsaken.

CHORUS
You’re Mr. Perfect in every way
You become more perfect with every day
You’re Mr. Perfect no matter what they say
You’re Mr. Perfect you blow me away
You are so perfect to me.

I die a little more inside
Every time I look into your eyes
And know that you can’t be mine
It will be hard to find
Another guy like you
Who can take away the blue
So now I go on to say
Your perfect in every way.

Whose Blame Is It?

'Something that you perpetrated,
you blame me for'
'Who says I accept it? it is not pleasant,
We have spoken before..'

With a kiss would you deny me? black and blue
I mend the wounds
How many cuts will convince you
Flesh is not immune?

Has anyone the right to ridicule?
What claim can you make?
Are you invested with power of judgment
That error forsake? ...

Polarities exist between two forces,
Love is but one,
It is not the strain of opposition
But light from the sun...

Happy Doctors’ Day,2008

All doctors are not demi-gods;
No doctor is miraculous;
All doctors are human beings,
Who help the sick and try to cure.

But doctors deal with human lives;
The profession’s noblest of all;
The Healer is Almighty God;
The doctor is His instrument.

The world is rife with ailments new;
The doctor strives his best to cure;
The doctor lessens suffering;
The miracles are done by God.

Yet, newer therapies have come;
The future for patients is bright;
Let people be more health-aware,
And live lives longer happily.

‘A Happy Doctors’ Day, ’08! ’
Pray God gives cures for more ailments;
The body’s, mind’s health stands foremost;
The doctor is like you, human.
