When it comes to federal elections law, Tom DeLay and his special-interest friends live by one set of rules, and everyone else lives by a very different set.

Special Friends
To all my special friends
and especially to one in particular
who knows who they are.
Everyone has special friends
whether they be girl or boy.
These special friends
always warm our hearts
bringing with them comfort and joy.
They make our lives smile
whenever we talk to them.
They lift our spirits high
all, our special friends.

Rules
We live our lives by rules,
not ones of the governments,
or of what our religion teaches.
We might borrow from both,
but they are our rules,
made of our own volition,
and rules that we live our lives by.

To be fair, lying is part and parcel of public life. Every politician has lied about something because they are owned by the special interest groups that finance their elections.

Federal elections happen every two years in this country. Presidential elections every four years. And four years just isn't long enough to dismantle all the environmental laws we've got in this country.

Special People
The world is filled with special people,
who are there when you need them.
They blend into the background,
emerging only when we have troubles in our lives.
They are special people because they are there for us,
no matter how many problems their lives might possess.
They care for others more than they care for themselves.
These special people who touch our lives,
and whom we simply call our friends.

Special Interest
Got a special interest, youre my special interest
Got a special interest, got a special interest in you
I hear youve got some pending legislation
Regarding your romantic situation
And I just want to make my position quite clear
Youve got a constituent here
And youll find before you take one more step
My hobby is to lobby on your doorstep
And that big sack of mail and the telegrams too
Ill give you one guess just who sent them to you
Ive been invested with a sacred mission
To make sure that you make the right decision
Though you may wonder now, in the long run youll see
A valuable ally in me
And if by some misguided sense of duty
You go with someone else instead of choose me
When theyve all let you down, and youre looking for help
Youll find that Ive swung my support somewhere else
No one has to know, when pressures are brought to bear
You can pretend that it was all your idea
And you did it of your own free will
Yes you did it of your own free will

A Special Girl
To me you're a very special girl,
Who won't go out with just any guy.
You can afford to pick and choose
And let all but the best pass by.
No one can lower those standards you have.
Your friends have admiration for you.
Among these friends, keep a watchful eye
Since I also have an interest in you.

WE ARE ALL A BUNCH OF FOOLS Oct 26th,2012
BY
JAMES BREDIN
If I live to be a hundred and five in twenty forty two,
Maybe we'll have death with dignity then because I'll be due,
But in the meantime, we have to submit to their foolish rules,
Humanity hasn't changed much and we're all a bunch of fools.
Where our Ottawa politicians tend to disappear,
Soft Federal positions, far away with nothing to fear,
Except that death comes a step closer almost every day,
And still they say, "No death with dignity for you. No way! "
These aristocrats on the top of the political pile,
Want to stay there as long as they can in that great lifestyle,
With no referendums, death with dignity or set-date elections,
They don't have to worry because they make all the selections.

Our Rules
We each live by our rules,
the ones engraved within us,
the rules we will never break
no matter what disasters
may fall upon us.
They are not the rules
others make in the way of laws,
but the ones we make for ourselves.
We never cheat on our friends
for to do so is to cheat ourselves.
Never rob those closest to our heart,
for to do so is something
ourselves can never forgive.
Simple rules we always stick by
as they bring the contentment
other see in our eyes.

Friends
Friends are cool
you chill at the pool.
They are there for you
even when you are blue.
They make you feel special
when you have to make a castle.
You have a blast
when you have gas.
They are very weird
they make you laugh.
Just by being there
they even care.
If you get hurt or in pain,
Friends are very special
even when you live in Dassel.
When you live in Cokato
you start looking like a potato.
I'm into monkey's
they are very funky.
We are all very different
we come in all sizes.
But a true friend will be
there through the thick and thin
whatever it takes.

Our Democracy
We don't have binding referendums or judicial reviews,
No plebiscites, proportional representation but who knew?
No set-date elections, recall or compulsory voting rules,
Not even elected senators mentioned in any of our schools.
We are not allowed death with dignity no matter how sick,
No matter what religion you are - Protestant or Mick,
And what happened to Sue Rodriguez, could happen to you,
Just about the time you're ready to die and say adieu.
Canadian politicians like all politicians dread recall,
Whether it's federal, provincial or even city hall,
Their party is more important than their constituents,
But this is seldom if ever very mentioned though continuous.

Love Rules
Evry day you pass her in the hall
You just pretend that you dont see her at all
You wanna tell her how much you care
You wanna call her but you just dont dare
Love rules, ooo love rules
Out in the parking lot with all the guys
Dont ever let em see the tears in your eyes
Shes got a date tonight and it aint you
So you go out there and you get one too
Love rules, ooo love rules
Love rules, yeah love rules
You wish you didnt have so much to feel
Its much too scary and its all too real
All your friends are out havin fun
Sometimes you think that youre the only one
That love rules, ooo love rules
While everybodys out makin time
You cant help thinkin youre the last in line
Shes the finest thing youve ever seen
You wrap your arms around her in your dreams
When she smiles it brings you to your knees
You wanna tell her but you always freeze
Shes in the back seat but youre much too shy
Youd give the world to be an older guy
Love rules, ooo love rules
Love rules, yeah love still rules
Love rules, ooo love rules
Love rules, love rules love rules
Love rules

I Don't Want To Live Forever
Frank Sinatra died today
I came home and found my mama crying
The TV had so much to say
Somehow I was thinking about dying
I'm seventeen and thinking about dying
I don't want to live forever
Just want to know that I'm alive
Don't want to live forever
Just until the day I die
I see my daddy in his chair
He sits there night and day
The TV still looks good as new
Daddy's old and gray
And it's scaring me to death
I don't want to go that way
I don't want to live forever
Just want to know that I'm alive
Don't want to live forever
Just until the day I die
Just because your heart's still beating
It don't mean that you're alive
Don't want to live forever
Nobody lives forever
Gonna live while I'm alive
You can see the glass half-empty
You can see the glass half-full
But all I see are shattered dreams
Around this neighborhood
My brother's girlfriend's pregnant
And today she's moving in
My friends all play the lottery
And swear one day they'll win
I'm seventeen, I'm thinking about dying
I'm seventeen, no way I'm dying
Don't want to live forever
Just want to know that I'm alive
Don't want to live forever
Just until the day I die
Just because you're breathing
It don't mean that you're alive
Don't want to live forever
Nobody lives forever
I don't want to live forever
Nobody lives forever
Don't want to live forever
I don't want to live forever
Nobody lives forever
I don't want to live forever
Don't want to live forever
I don't want to live forever
Nobody lives forever
I don't want to live forever
Nobody lives forever
I don't want to live forever

rules and regulations
that dominate our lives,
but those rules and regulations
are not always the ones
that the laws provides.

Everybody Is Special
Every child is special,
Everybody is special,
Every man is special,
Every woman is special,
Special in the name of nature to live on the earth;
But, try to respect everybody! !
No matter the colour;
For, we didn't create ourselves.
