Well if I was going to describe my audience, it's going to take longer than you'd ever expect, hundreds of years in fact, because there's many of them, all over the world.

Only One Mother
Hundreds of stars in the pretty sky,
But only one mother to dry your eyes,
Hundreds of shells on the shore together,
But only one mother to have forever
Hundreds of birds that go singing by,
But only one mother to help you try
Hundreds of lambs in the sunny weather.
But only one mother to treat us like treasure
Hundreds of dewdrops to greet the dawn,
But only one mother to help us move on
Hundreds of bees in the purple clover,
But only one mother the world wide over
Hundreds of people to tell apart
But only one mother to give us her heart

Expect Your ………….You!
Expect your friend to be not better than you;
Expect your neighbor to not forgive you;
Expect your country not to goad you;
Expect your siblings to but discourage you;
Expect your children to not care for you;
Expect your spouse to rather hinder you;
Expect your love to always forget you;
Expect your home sometimes to ignore you;
Expect your native place to not honor you;
Expect the world to disregard you;
Expect your enemy to well hate you;
Expect your Maker to much love you;
Expect your God to never forsake you;
Expect your Lord and God to never abandon you.

It's a little like casting out hundreds of fishing lines into the audience. You start getting little bites, then more, then you hook a few, then more. Then you can start reeling them in and that's a loveliest feeling - the whole audience laughing with you.
They're getting more and more experience on what to expect, and the Hellboy audience is such a faithful and fanatic audience as I am, and you have to really be very open about what you do.

I Am The Audience
I am the audience
Theres no doubt, no consequence
I could make the morning papers
If I use my capers
Lets be the audience
I might lose my patience
Polite applause excepted
To the ones selected, as the audience...
Oh I ... am the audience
No doubt, no consequence
Cause Im the audience
Lets be the audience
I might lose my patience
Polite applause excepted
To the ones selected
I am the audience
Breakdown the pretence
No longer be silent
Lets turn to violence
I am the audience

Seeking Attention of That Kind Has Been Fed
I don't expect your praise.
In fact...
I don't expect you to acknowleged anything I do.
I am not on that mission.
Seeking attention of that kind has been fed.
However...
What I do expect,
Is a clue you know something about self respect.
And so far I suspect,
We both have become disappointed.

Out of This World
I've already 'seen'
What you are going to discover.
Even the previews coming to you...
Are too out of this world to describe.
In fact...
It is!
It is too...
Out of this world!
Yet also within it!
We'll discuss this,
After you've been traumatized!
And instantly released,
From your religious convictions!

Audience Development
When at the age of 5...
The Phyllis Stone School of Dance,
Gave me an opportunity...
To gaze my eyes upon an audience.
At the Bushnell Memorial Auditorium,
During my dance recital.
In Hartford, Connecticut.
And I will 'never' forget it.
So much in my mind has stayed and clicked.
I am familiar with critique.
With a delivery that is instant and quick.
Audience development,
Is like the nurturing of a child.
People are fed what they are given.
And,
Of course...
One entertaining them,
Wishes to see them give honest feedback.
If it is just a hint of a smile.
This entices one to sweat with more effort.
~Okay.
I get this.
You didn't like what I did?
How about...that? ~
There is nothing like watching someone,
Who believes,
In fact...
They are watching you.
There is 'nothing' quite like this.
And it is unfortunate this kind of expertise,
Isn't taught in schools to teach.
Some fools go to school to fool around,
And not learn.
And at the end of their nonsense,
They expect to receive a diploma or a degree.
Something to show for their lack of concern.
Leaving an audience unconvinced...
What had been experienced,
Had been worth the fee.
And they have every right to feel cheated.
A business conducted...
Had not been understood,
As it should have been perceived.
People do not have to be told,
When their money and time has been wasted.
And those who are given awards for nothing...
Have high expectations,
For sleep walking through their paces.
'Why do we bother to put up with this...
This...
Foolishness.'
It makes for good P-R.
No matter what the reality is!
It just makes good the 'PR'.
'Ugh.
Geeessshhh! '

100s Of Years
Trees can live for hundreds of years,
They well know to live together!
They tuft to earth, as child's to mom,
Light, water, and air they do share!
When storm does come they low their heads,
To show him respect out of fear!
The branches welcome, greet and laugh.
Leaves dance with the beat of the air.
The roots sometimes, take hold of each,
Thus, they make bridge, over the ditch.
What men ignore, they may do care
And mend that always, just to teach.
They whisper, and send their message,
Thru breeze, and soil, thru ether-
If nature lives, then all can live...
We should do that which can help her.
Hundreds, hundreds years they can live,
In warm friendship, fraternity.
But, we, intelligent creatures,
Can't keep this nature's sanctity!

How?
How can I explain it?
How can I make this sound legit?
How can I possibly describe how I feel?
How can I prove to you that this is real?
How can I start?
How can I tell you exactly what I feel in my heart?
How much would you like to hear?
How much do you want to know my dear?
How can I show you?
How much must I do?
How can you not see?
How much do you think he means to me?
How can I expect you to understand?
How can I describe how perfectly we fit hand-in-hand?
How?

Postcards Home
Eyes open as the light streams through the curtain
Only half closed and the kink in my neck
And sleeping in my clothes again
Reminds me that Im not home
Gotta go because were leaving on a fifteen hour drive
But Ill call you sometime soon to let you know that Im alright
Do you know what the world can bring
I wish you were here with me
To see the things that words cannot describe
Sincerely me so long goodbye
Its three am and were driving through the desert
And the moons bright so bright in fact
That I can almost write you without turning on the map light
But I gotta let you go now because its my turn to drive
But Ill have so much to tell you at home when we arrive
Do you know what the world can bring
I wish you were here with me
To see the things that words cannot describe
Sincerely me so long goodbye so long goodbye
Do you know what the world can bring
I wish you were here with me
To see the things that words cannot describe
Sincerely me so long goodbye

Everything Is Still Alright
when you arrive
dinner is served
and we have a drink
of some bottles of beer
we have some desserts
and you say you love
every part of it
the longer nights
matched with our
conversations
we laugh a lot
and then you have
your bed and bath
warm as you describe them
two days and we tell you
have some more
and then you leave us
everything is alright
despite the fact that you
forget to say
thanks
perhaps you will justify
we never ask for it
at any rate we shall always say
welcome

Jesus Doesnt Want Me For A Sunbeam
(by the vaselines)
Jesus, dont want me for a sunbeam
Sunbeams are not made like me
Dont expect me to cry,
For wrong reasons, you have to die
Dont ever ask it out of me.
Dont expect me to lie
Dont expect me to lie
Dont expect me to die, for me.
--the man who sold the world
(by david bowie)
We passed upon the stair, we spoke of was and when
Although I wasnt there, he said I was his friend
Which came as some surprise I spoke into his eyes
I thought you died alone, a long long time ago
Oh no, not me
I never lost control
Youre face to face
With the man who sold the world
I laughed and shook hishand, and made my way back home
I searched for form and land, for years and years I roamed
I gazed a gazley stare at all the millions here
We must have died along, a long long time ago
Who knows? not me
We never lost control
Youre face to face
With the man who sold the world

Callous women folk
Hundreds and hundreds of women
Were on the way, on who you set your eyes.
hundreds and hundreds of men
might set on them their eyes.
Women grow immune to men
and undermine them altogether,
with delight in men’s plethora.
Light attracting swam! Woman is callous.

Expect No Mercy
If youre ready for the street
You wanna mix it in some fight
Let me tell you somethin
Now I dont wanna get you uptight
But if youre in a corner
And you cant find no way out
Dont look around for no help
No, no there wont be any around
Expect no mercy, expect no mercy
Expect no mercy, expect no mercy
So you think you got a case
And you think you know the score
No you dont wanna listen
You cant be told no more
But waitll you get out there
You better do it right
cause the streets are lined with things that kill
And theyre hidin in the night
Expect no mercy, expect no mercy
Expect no mercy, expect no mercy
Expect no mercy, expect no mercy
Expect no mercy, expect no mercy
Feel that you can cut it
You think you got the time
Theyll only give you one chance
Better get it right first time
And the game youre playing
If you lose you gotta pay
If you make just one wrong move
Youll get blown away
Expect no mercy, expect no mercy
Expect no mercy, expect no mercy
Expect no mercy, expect no mercy
Expect no mercy, expect no mercy

I May Have Years To Go
I MAY HAVE YEARS TO GO
I may have years to go-
Many many years
In which I will continue to fail
In the same way
I have failed
In the many more years before.
The truth is
God could give me hundreds of years more
I would still be capable
Only of being myself -
Blessed are those given the gift of greatness by God
And long-troubled those who would be given it
And are not.
