I heard that the same thing occurred in a scene in Alien, where the creature pops out of the chest of a crewman. The other actors didn't know what was to happen; the director wanted to get true surprise.

A lot of directors don't know what they want to do. Every director I've seen that was a good director that I've admired knew exactly what he wanted to do. They didn't sit there and think about it.

The One
No surprise
Hey that you wanna be the one again
No surprise
You wanna be the one
Heard you had a story to tell
Sold your soul in a kiss and tell
Sliding down on a helter skelter ride
Into yesterday
No way out, the price of fame
Once its told will you be the same
Rolling down on a roller coaster ride
Well be waiting for you
No surprise
Hey that you wanna be the one again
No surprise
No surprise
Hey that you wanna be the one
No surprise
You wanna be the one
Shock the world with your fall from grace
Glory days gone without a trace
No surprise youre a face without a name
But we all still love you
No surprise
Hey that you wanna be the one again
No surprise
No surprise
Hey that you wanna be the one
No surprise
You wanna be the one
Its time to tell you
Were faithful and true
Take us back to the days
When we could dream
cos it makes us happy
No surprise
Hey that you wanna be the one again
No surprise

Hey that you wanna be the one

I didn't really know what I wanted to do, and then I got this call from a casting director in Los Angeles. She remembered me from something years before, and she called my mom wanting me to audition for this thing.

I would love to get great performances from actors as a director, because that's what I'm always looking for, a director that's going to help me go places I've never been before.

Mel is a great director because he's not just a director, he's an actor, so he knows how to direct actors. I loved working with him. He's great as a director. He's so intelligent. He's generous. I really loved him.

We Are Not Actors!
when millions of our ancestors died for the truth,
when millions of them never acted in their life,
when millions of us work hard with our only face,
who told that world is full actors and actresses?
memorized scripts are repeated,
repeated verses can be recorded and edited,
The director vision is visualized,
Rehearsal can make the scenes perfect.
we live a scene only once in real life,
no directors, editors and the script writer,
we live our life with emotions and blunders,
we feel every moment that is not felt by the actors,
who told that world is the stage and we are the actors?

0316 Faith - For You Who Asked
Yes, there is a stage
and yes, there are actors;
a script to engage;
an experienced director..
Yes, indeed, I’ll pray for you
to the One they say best deems
those matters which may bless our soul
however strange they seem;
Oh yes, I will pray for you,
as much as human can;
but, add this wish from me for you,
which is more personal:
In course of time – who knows how long? –
may you look back and say,
‘Although it seemed ungodly cruel,
it turned out well for me..’
Yes, there is a stage
and yes, there are actors;
a script to engage;
an experienced director.

Alien Afternoon
Woke up in the morning staggered out of bed
Thought about getting back again, but went downstairs instead
Read the daily paper have to know the truth
Slammed the door as i ran outside, looked at my watch and cried
Gotta get to work on time
Gotta get to work on time
Then the sky turned a deeper blue
Not a cloud as the sun shone through
But all around rain kept falling to the ground
The wind was blowing but the trees didn't make a sound
Just another alien afternoon
Just another alien afternoon
Time that i was leaving while there's still a chance
Before i start believing in what i see or hear
Nothing here to keep me, nothing anywhere
Gotta get out pack my bags before i go insane
Gotta get away in time
Gotta get away in time
Then the sky turned from blue to green
Took on colours i have never seen
Then a sound started ringing in my ears
I heard voices but in truth there's nobody there
Just another alien afternoon
Just another alien afternoon
To be there back where i belong
To feel again the wind upon my face
To see again all that i took for granted
All that i left and everything i knew
We are home
We are your home
We are all your home
Not another alien afternoon
Never more to go wandering
Never leaving my world behind
There was never a reason
To leave my heart and my home behind
Where i was born is where i should be now
I would never be lonely
I would never be sad again
I wanted to go anywhere
I wanted to see how strange it all could be
Nothing would ever take me away again
Never more to go wandering
Never leaving my world behind
No, no, no, no
Nothing will ever take me away again, away again
No, no, no, no

It's a dumb question, because I don't look at things as a black director, just as a director, so ask me as a director first and we can segue into the colour thing later.

Get On The Right Thing
All at once you get love on your mind
And your world is as kind as a penny
Oh.... and you knew it all along / you did the right thing
Believe me its true / and it can happen to you
All at once you get sound in your ears
And your cloud disappears into yellow
Well you know they were were wrong
Get on the right thing / well you knew it all along
Get on the right thing
Believe me its so / because I happen to know
Try a little love, you cant go wrong
Get on the right thing (repeat twice)
My little love you cant go wrong
Get on the right thing / get on the right thing
Get on tee right thing do / get on the right thing you
All at once we see things in our skies
And we both realize it together
Well you know they were wrong
Get on the right thing / yes you knew it all along
Get on the right thing / believe me its so
Because I happen to know / you cant go wrong
Get on the right thing, get on the right thing,
Get on the right thing / you cant go wrong get on the right thing
And try a little love / and it cant go wrong
Get on the right thing you etc.
Try a little love, you cant go wrong
Get on the right thing etc.

It all has to do with the director, the captain of the ship. He sets the pace, the mood. If the director is quiet, the set is quiet. If the director is loud, then everybody has to be louder to be heard.

This Family
The picture you paint
Is so wonderfully great
Don’t dare look in a mirror you’d faint
This family’s the furthest thing from great
You scraped all the love off our plate
They say family’s the worst thing to ever happen to you
That very moment I heard it I instantly knew it’s true
You people play so godly, go to church and pray
When truth is you’re just good actors
putting on a play
Not everyone’s this way, the good ones are minority
While the bad ones who need to change are majority
Every family has its ups and downs, smiles and frowns
And occasional stupid clowns
This family has too much; it’s not a circus so stop the act
The best thing you need but don’t have
Is a heart which you people lack
Don’t look in a mirror
Look in one another
Watch the picture you paint
See it, it looks so great

My Canadian Chronicles 32
On my holiday, I have had many surprises,
but none like I had on my birthday.
'The Auburn' is a prestigious place
where poets go in Calgary.
I had the honour of taking the open mike
and reading a couple of my poems to them.
However, what happen next took me by surprise.
When I had finished and left the stage
the poets at 'The Auburn' sang happy birthday to me,
then my friend Melvina read out a birthday poem
she had written especially for me.
It didn’t end there,
for during the interval they brought out my cake.
My two friends Sue and Melvina
kept the whole thing from me,
but what a wonderful surprise.
The whole evening was too wonderful for words
and something I will never forget
and yet another thing I have to thank
my two adopted sisters for.
