It was a wrong number that started it, the telephone ringing three times in the dead of night, and the voice on the other end asking for someone he was not.

Wrong Number

Telephone down the hall
Dark and dusty on a dirty wall
Funky number scratched up above
Call this number if you need some love
Another number thats hard to read
Fools round here call it endlessly
But I know better, just leave it alone
Sugar man sellin dreams on the phone
Oh oh oh oh oh oh wrong number
Dont cha do it, no dont cha do it
Oh oh oh oh oh oh wrong number
Dont cha do it, no dont cha do it
Oh oh that sugar it aint worth the price
Another day out in the streets
The rollers drag another man to his feet
Take him to jail, to city hall
Sugar man puts a cross on his wall
Oh oh oh oh oh oh wrong number
Dont cha do it, no dont cha do it
Oh oh oh oh oh oh wrong number
Dont cha do it, no dont cha do it
Oh oh that sugar it aint worth the price
They keep on callin the man day and night
Mercedes pulls up, they all gather round
They flash their cash as the window rolls down
Then they run, run and hide
Back to their room for a warm sugar ride

She's Got My Number

She's got my number she always did
She can always see where my secret's hid
Everything about me is hers to tell
She's got my number she always will

She's got my number I must confess
One look in her eyes and I feel undressed
She can see right through all my little games
She's got my number she has my name

Late night driving with the telephone
In the car and I'm always
Waiting

Reconciliation

Taste the wine and smell the roses
Hear the music that used to surround us

Imagine the warmth of my body close to you
And my loving arms surrounding you

How many days has it been
Since we’ve been parted

How many times have we said
We’ve got to get back together

How many times have we reached for the telephone
Only to find that we didn’t have each others number

How much longer must this agony go on
Until one of us gives in, admits we were wrong

It was such a silly argument that caused all this pain
But I swear to you now I’ll never let it happen again

We acted just like spoilt children
That was to our great shame

I reach for the telephone
Dial your number and let is ring

There goes the front door bell
I rush to open the door

And there in front of me is standing you
In unison our voices say “I love you.”

Locked in each others embrace
Now, never leaving forever and ever

You Are 'Never' Going To Change

Here it comes, again.
That same denial I make attempts to forget.
The same one about my missing someone loved.
Someone I am trying my best not to admit.

Why me?
Why can't you just leave me alone,
And be about your own business.
Here I sit alone for a few minutes.
With the thought of this on my mind.
And then I believe from me those feelings go.

And then when I 'think' the coast is clear.
Those feelings come again.
They without notice re-appear.

So I pick up the telephone.
Blocking out my number before I dial.
Knowing those feelings once had in me are gone.
To announce very quickly to 'whoever' answers...
That the number I dialed was wrong.

Why me?
I find I am asking myself this,
Constantly.

Here it comes, again.
That same denial I make attempts to forget.
The same one about my missing someone loved.
Someone I am trying my best not to admit.

So I pick up the telephone.
Blocking out my number out before I dial.
Knowing those feelings once had in me are gone.
To announce very quickly,
The number I dialed was wrong.

'Why can't you just leave me alone? '

Excuse me?
Didn't you here me say...
I dialed a wrong number?
You are 'never' going to change!

Ive Got Your Number

I miss the soft cold touch of your skin
In the night when [? ]
I see your picture smashed to the ground
But my heart begins to pound
Ive got your number but youre never at home
I leave a message, please telephone
Its so sad that youre not around
Its bringing me down
In the [? ] where we would meet
In a crowd where theres no one around
Its such a sin, this mood Im in
Now that we got [? ]
I bet youre burning up on the town
With every jerk and every clown
I walk the streets, hear your voice in my head
I [? ] an empty bed
Ive got your number but youre never at home
I leave a message, please telephone
Its so sad that youre not around
Its bringing me down
I know my news[? ] leave a lot to be desired
But I thought that we had it made
But I guess that Im not so smart
Youre breakin my heart
Ive got your number but youre never at home
I leave a message, please telephone
Its so sad that youre not around
Its bringing me down
Guess Ill pack up and leave this town
With all its memories of you
Theres a [? ], new york city
Ill get by without you

Under My Wheels

Originally released on the alice cooper tribute cd humanary stew (by joe, phil and other artists, like clarence clemons),
Later also released on the cd-single for promises & australian version of euphoria.
The telephone is ringing
You got me on the run
Im driving in my car now
Anticipating fun
Im driving right up to you, babe
I guess that you couldnt see, yeah yeah
But you under my wheels
Why dont you let me be
cause when you call me on the telephone
Saying take me to the show
And then I say, honey, I just cant go
Old ladys sick and I cant leave her home
The telephone is ringing
You got me on the run
Im driving in my car now
I got you under my wheels
I got you under my wheels
I got you under my wheels
Yeah yeah
I got you under my wheels
Yeah yeah
I got you under my wheels
The telephone is ringing
You got me on the run
Im driving in my car now
Anticipating fun
Im driving right up to you, babe
I guess that you couldnt see, yeah yeah
But you was under my wheels, honey
Why dont you let me be, yeah yeah
I got you under my wheels
I got you under my wheels
I got you under my wheels
I dont wanna get my hands dirty

The Hoax

when someone emails you
that he has 3 million pounds
and he is giving
all of it to you,

will you believe him?

you ask me
if i believe him too?

alright, i may believe him
and give my name
and address and telephone number
my status, my other
particulars
even my credit card number

and you will say
OH MY GOD
how gullible can i be!

well, it does not really
matter
all these, my name, my address
and telephone number
and other particulars
even my credit card number
and ATM PIN

all these
are fakes too
exactly just like him
and his 3 million pounds

you see,
i was also not born yesterday

Mother

Well, the telephone is ringing
Is that my mother on the phone?
The telephone is ringing
Is that my mother on the phone?
The telephone is screaming
Wont she leave me alone
The telephone is ringing
Is that my mother on the phone?
Well, every girl I got out with
Becomes my mother in the end
Every girl I go out with
Becomes my mother in the end
Well, I hear my mother calling
But I dont need her as a friend
Every girl I go out with
Becomes my mother in the end
Oh oh mother
Oh mother dear please listen
And dont devour me
Oh mother dear please listen
And dont devour me
Oh women please have mercy
Let this poor boy be
Oh mother dear please listen
And dont devour me

The Price Of Love

One Heart one other
They met last summer
One move she started
Now they love this way
The pain of pleasure
lying together
You're at their mercy
As the telephone's ringing on
No one said there'd be nights like this
Risk your life for a stolen kiss
We live

Cooper

Cooper went out late last night
I heard the slam from her door
Foggy ways, november daze
All the white wolves were smiling
Cooper went out walkin the clouds
She left everything in a mess
shut your mouth when you talk to me
Her words were always so small
And theres a sound from the telephone
When can I say shes coming home?
Leave me the number youre dialing from
And may I ask whos calling?
May I ask whos calling?
Cooper went out, 3 oclock sharp
I heard the bells from the church
Someone said they saw a car
Picking her up by the stations
Cooper went out and thats all there is
Im just no one from next door
Everything will be alright
When all the flowers have cried
Then theres a voice on the telephone
When can I say shes coming home?
Leave me the number youre dialing from
And may I ask whos callin? (whos calling? )
May I ask whos calling? (whos calling? )
May I ask whos calling?

Telephone X

I see your hands they're on me
Just when you say hello
You see your words they drown me
Then there's a warmth below
My body and soul are feeling fine
And my body and soul, just killing time
When you ring my number, you ring my head
All the time for telephone sex
See my life just falling with you
I feel this rhythm draw me
But will I get my way
Your body slides beneath me
"Keep talking" I'll say
My body and soul are feeling fine
And my body and soul, just killing time
When you ring my number, you ring my head
All the time for telephone sex
See my life just falling with you
When you ring my number, you ring my head
All the time for telephone sex
See my life just falling with you
Ah, Ah, Ah, Ah, Ah, Ah, Ah, Ah
Falling with you
Falling with you
......
Well I wanted to know this love's forever
Wanted to feel this free together
Wanted to sleep, just dream whenever
Falling with you
When you ring my number, you ring my head
All the time for telephone sex
See my life just falling with you
When you ring my number, you ring my head
All the time for telephone sex

When Numbers Get Serious

I have a number in my head
Though I dont know why its there
When numbers get serious
You see their shape everywhere
Dividing and multiplying
Exchanging with ease
When times are mysterious
Serious numbers are easy to please
Take my address
Take my phone
Call me if you can
Heres my address
Heres my phone
Please dont give it to some madman
Hey hey, whoa whoa
Complicated life
Numbers swirling thick and curious
You can cut them with a knife
You can cut them with a knife
Two times two is twenty-two
Four times four is forty-four
When numbers get serious
They leave a mark on your door
Urgent. urgent.
A telephone is ringing in the hallways
When times are mysterious
Serious numbers will speak to us always
That is why a man with numbers
Can put your mind at ease
Weve got numbers by the trillions
Here and overseas
Hey hey, whoa whoa
Look at the stink about japan
All those numbers waiting patiently
Dont you understand?
Dont you understand?
So wrap me
Wrap me
Wrap me do
In the shelter of your arms
I am ever your volunteer
I wont do you any harm
I will love innumerably
You can count on my word
When times are mysterious
Serious numbers
Will always be heard
When times are mysterious
Serious numbers will always be heard
And after all is said and done
And the numbers all come home
The four rolls into three
The three turns into two
And the two becomes a
One

A Guiding Voice

Sometimes we hear a guiding voice
that leads us away from danger.
The voice warns us
in times of troubles.
It tells us to go or beware.
Sometimes it comes in dreams
that we feel torments our soul.
This is a guiding voice
that tells us which way to go.
Some say it is a guardian angel
who watches over us
by day and by night,
telling us which way is wrong,
and which way is right.
We may never know whom
that voice belongs to,
only that it helps us
to live our life through.

Sonnet- Life Is Flexible

It is not wrong to make mistakes often;
It is not wrong to do blunders in life;
It is not wrong to see mishaps happen;
It is not wrong to panic 'midst your strife.

It is not wrong to be lazy some days;
It is not wrong to make decisions wrong;
It is not wrong to squander wealth some ways;
It is not wrong to love a thing for long.

It is not wrong to come late while bell chimes,
It is not wrong to selfish be, at times;
It is not wrong to envy some sometimes;
It is not wrong to sin too many times.

It is not wrong to err where others don't;
'Tis wrong to feel guilty when others won't.

East West

East west
Over the ocean
Perpetual motion
Travelling around
No rest
Singing and playing
Night out and day in
Doing the rounds
What a great life this must seem !
Swelled joints
Everything classy
Nothing is tacky
Only the best
Lush girls
Older and dying
Sighing and crying
This is success !
What a great life this must seem !
But when I hear your voice
Singing out
The bells of home
Are ringing out
And I feel all alone
(and I think of my home)
Cold times
A wind through the houses
The bleakness arouses
A longing to leave
Time flew
I wanted to see you
Somehow I could not do
Because of success
What a strange life this can be !
But when I hear your voice
Singing out
The bells of home
Are ringing out
And I feel all alone
(and I think of my home)
