Enthusiasm - a distemper of youth, curable by small doses of repentance in connection with outward applications of experience.

Small Doses
You'd think after fourty
Long days and nights
I'd finally get used to the rain
But until the storm passes
Outta my mind
The only thing I know
To take for the pain is..
Small, small doses,
A sip at a time
A little whiskey and water
I'll sit here all night
Some live with heartaches
But I'm killing mine
With small, small doses
A sip at a time.
My doctor said son
Aint a thing I can do
To help you get on with your life
So till I find a way
To forget about you
Me and your memory
Will have a big time.
Small, small doses,
A sip at a time
A little whiskey and water
I'll sit here all night
Some live with heartaches
But I'm killing mine
With small, small doses
A sip at a time.
With small, small doses,
A sip at a time
A little Jim Beam and water
I'll sit here all night
Some live with heartaches
But I'm killing mine
With small, small doses
A sip at a time.
With small, small doses
A sip at a time...

Obstacle 2
I'm gonna pull you in close gonna wrap you up tight
gonna play with the braids that you came here with tonight
I'm gonna hold your face and toast the snow that fell
because friends don't waste wine when there's words to sell
i feel like love is in the kitchen with a culinary eye
I think he's making something special and I'm smart enough to try
if you don't trust yourself for at least one minute each day
well you should trust in this girl cause loving is coming our way
if you can fix me up girl you'll go a long way
if you can fix me up girl you'll go a long way
I'll stand by all this drinking if it helps me through these days
(take my love in these small doses)
It takes a long time just to get this all straight
(take my love in these small doses)
I'll showcase on route 7 when i find the right place
(take my love in these small doses)
It takes a long time just to get this all straight
(take my love in these small doses)
in my mind
this is my free time
because friends don't waste wine when there's words to sell
if you can fix me up girl you'll go a long way
if you can fix me up girl you'll go a long way
I'll stand by all this drinking if it helps me through these days
(take my love in these small doses)
I've spent a long time corresponding in my own way
(take my love in these small doses)
I'll showcase on route 7 when I find the right place
(take my love in these small doses)
It takes a long time just to get this all straight
(take my love in these small doses)
in my mind
this is my free time
to break it all away
spend it all today
spend it all today
it took time then I found you
it took time then I found you

Make That Connection
Oh what would I do
Oh what would I do babe
Honey I have this feeling
Its never ever ever explained
Yeah Im afraid a part of my heart
Would always feel misunderstood babe
I would never know honey
I never meant to drive you away
Whats wrong?
I want to make that connection, that connection to you
I want to make that connection, that connection to you
What would I give if I could have you now
Baby what would I give to see your smiling face again
You know theres nothing I would not do
No river I would not swim, no mountain I would not climb baby
If I could have you right here once again
I want to make that connection, that connection to you
I want to make that connection, that connection to you
Tell me baby is it something I might have said?
Is it something I might have done wrong to change your mind?
Tell me baby is it something Ive have said?
Is it something I couldve done?
Honey somehow let me right all your wrongs
I want to make that connection, that connection to you
I want to make that connection, that connection to you
Oh what would I give if you would tell me just one thing
Honey what would I give if you would stroke my hand with your brow
Or whisper sweet things into my ear I would smile like a baby
I would be happy like a child if I could have you right here, right here, right here
Right here with me now
I want to make that connection, that connection to you
I want to make that connection, yes I do
I want to make that connection, that connection to you
I want to make that connection, whats wrong?
I want to make that connection, that connection to you

Bogus Doses
Your rolling overexposed bogus doses aren't deep.
To keep them away from a 'vision'.
Your rolling overexposed bogus doses aren't deep.
To keep them away from a 'vision'.
Don't leave with a notion to soak,
Your bogus doses will get any info from me.
To keep me away from what's been 'visioned'.
Your rolling overexposed bogus doses aren't deep.
Not deep enough to cloud...
A 'vision'.
Your rolling overexposed bogus doses aren't deep,
To keep them away from the 'vision'.
Whatever that you do,
Has been done and 'thunked! '
With a doing of it in most eyes like a basketball dunked.
Swish, swoosh that's it.
And people who have seen this have a 'vision'.
You can't exchange the truth for a dollar.
Or change its appearance to ensure it fits.
Swish, swoosh that's it.
And people who have seen this have a 'vision'.
And people who have seen this have a 'vision'.
Swish, swoosh that's it.
Swish, swoosh that's it.
And people who have seen this have a 'vision'.
Take your bogus doses.
People who have seen this have a 'vision'.
And to witness focused.
Whatever that you do,
Has been done and 'thunked! '
With a doing of it in most eyes like a basketball dunked.
Swish, swoosh that's it.
Swish, swoosh that's it.
And people who have seen this have a 'vision'.
Now take your bogus doses.
Take your bogus doses.
Now take your bogus doses...
Away, away!
Now take your bogus doses.
Take your bogus doses.
Now take your bogus doses...
Away!

Killed In Action
Your ' Youth ' has fallen from its shelf,
And you have fallen, you yourself.
They knocked a soldier on the head,
I mourn the poet who fell dead.
And yet I think it was by chance,
By oversight you died in France.
You were so poor an outward man,
So small against your spirit's span,
That Nature, being tired awhile,
Saw but your outward human pile;
And Nature, who would never let
A sun with light still in it set,
Before you even reached your sky,
In inadvertence let you die.

L.a. Connection
Oh, carry home my broken bones and lay me down to rest
Forty days of cries and moans i guess i've failed to pass the test
I've been sent away not a thing to say
I'm banished from the fold
I'm a fallen angel who's lost his wings and left out in the cold
Ooooh l.a. connection
Oh l.a. connection
L.a. connection, yeah
Operator place a call keep secret but it through
Investigator knows it all he's at the window i wonder who
I've got to cut the line and let me drift find a haven in the storm
I got no time i need a lift to where it's sweet and close and warm
I say
Ooooh l.a. connection
Oh l.a. connection
L.a. connection
Hey, carry home my broken bones and lay me down to rest
Forty days of cries and moans well i've just failed the test
Feel i'm balanced on the brim should i lean another way
Like a flame that's going on the dim needs blessing from the day, oh
Ooooh l.a. connection, l.a. connection
Oh take me away i got nothing to say
It's got to be an l.a. connection, oh
Ooooh l.a. connection, l.a. connection
Ooooh, l.a., l.a., l.a., l.a., l.a. connection
Connection, oh
Ooooh l.a. connection, l.a. connection
Oh l.a., oh, l.a. connection
L.a., l.a. inspection
Ooooh l.a. connection, l.a. connection
Oh i'm down, oh i'm down
I can't take a rejection
L.a., need an l.a. connection
L.a., yeah, oh l.a. connection
L.a. connection
I'm flying away
Take me back home, i gotta get home to l.a.
L.a., l.a. connection, l.a.
Oh, l.a. connection, l.a. connection
Ooooh, ooooh, l.a. connection, l.a.

Age considers, youth ventures
Age considers, youth ventures
Age visualizes, youth dreams
Age makes theories, youth experiments
Age loves, youth longs
Age sees people, youth sees places
Age knows belongings, youth discovers them
Age pains to gain, youth gains to others' pain
Age has heart, youth has mind
Age is thoughtful, youth is tactful
Age ponders, youth wonders
Age recounts, youth counts
Age is experienced, youth is in experience
Age is cautious, youth dashes
Age floats, youth swims
Age lives, youth still making a living
Age is in touch with termination, youth with determination
Age is confident, youth is competent
Age adds years to living, youth adds life to living
Age is lost in past, youth is drowned in future
Age is grown, youth is crown
Ageless is youth, youthless is age

Follow The Format
make a big scene
make this glass house my coffin
you missed the big picture
well its the words that youre coughing out on your sleeve
so forge my sins here in song
well i'm telling you now what youve known all along
and its tired, so true, more subtle than you
theres a lull in the stereo
its calling for you (calling for you)
its calling for you
well i'm a slave to my vices (its true)
theyve all been renamed as a crutch
so drag my name and my face through the mud
flattery can flatter me (flattery can flatter me)
showing just how vicious you could be
do what you came here to do (do what you came here to do)
trigger finger gets you pointed in the right direction
my new found discretion
its not a lie if you believe it
its no mistake if its always repeated
its not a lie if you believe it
its no mistake if its always repeated
shall we call it quits or just wait? (its not a lie if you believe it)
even, even if my last name rhymes with your rescue of hear say
do not say you know (its no mistake if its repeated)
call me out
its not a lie (its such a lie)
but I dont need to hear it from you
so whats another word for (i dont need to hear it from you)
whats another word for (dont need to hear it from you)
whats another word for (i dont need to hear it from you)
whats another word for (dont need to hear it from you)
it gets easier with doses of time (easier with doses of time)
easier with doses of time (easier with doses of time)
easier with doses of time (easier with doses of time)
easier with doses of time (easier with doses of time)
Show us just how vicious you could be

Every great deed of which history tells us, every mighty passion which art can represent, every picture of manners, of civic arrangements, of the culture of peoples of distant lands or of remote times, seizes and interests us, even if there is no exact scientific connection among them. We continually find points of contact and comparison in our own conceptions and feelings; we get to know the hidden capacities and desires of the mind, which in the ordinary peaceful course of civilised life remain unawakened. It is not to be denied that, in the natural sciences, this kind of interest is wanting. Each individual fact, taken by itself, can indeed arouse our curiosity or our astonishment, or be useful to us in its practical applications. But intellectual satisfaction we obtain only from a connection of the whole, just from its conformity with law.

Connection
All I want to do is get back to you
Connection, I just cant make no connection
But all I want to do is to get back to you
Everything is going in the wrong direction
The doctor wants to give me more injections
Giving me shots for a thousand rare infections
And I dont know if hell let me go
Connection, I just cant make no connection
But all I want to do is to get back to you
My bags they get a very close inspection
I wonder why it is that they suspect em
Theyre dying to add me to their collection
I dont know if theyll let me go
Connection, I just cant make no connection
But all I want to do is to get back to you

Religious belief, trust, a sense of connection to the universe — no matter what you call it, there is a spiritual component to strongfamilies. They see their lives as imbued with purpose, reflected in the things they do for one another and the community. Small problems provide a chance to grow; large ones are a lesson in courage. … It takes a certain type of spiritual grace to see beyond one’s own misery to the needs of others. Strong families try to live so they can look outward — and inward — every single day.

Something Negligible
like small amounts of caffeine
small doses of morphine
a little sugar
a pinch of salt
a dropp of honey
some other matters
negligible
an out of town date with
infidelity
a tint of light
a shadow of a chunk of
a body of
a quart of solubility
diffusing into a very small space
a little part of water
and sand
a little of everything
until you become little too
tiny like a grain
of iron filling
still attached magnetically
to something
undefined.

Three things are good in small doses and bad in big ones: yeast, salt, and hesitation.
The Campaign Trail
Aged or youth, you make the call, one will rise the other will fall,
Wisdom is grounded in age, as youth wants to turn a new page.
Both desire to take the lead, to address and handle every need,
Going on surely not to lose, but to be the one that men choose.
One, with his charismatic zeal, to the youth he has much appeal,
Speaking of much need change, while others he tries to engage.
Trying to create a broader base, to eloquently lay down his case,
That experience has little to do, in being a leader for me and you.
His opponent on the other hand; experience is his stage to stand,
Speaking of all he has done, and all he will do, once he has won.
With experience makes the claim, he’s more than just a new name,
His experience charts his course, unlike who may be a dark horse.
Each one, from the campaign trail, watches the other rant and rail,
As they do all that they can, in changing minds of opposing men.
While scrambling to win the race, missing is the element of grace,
Grace that sustains the nation, allowing them both in this situation.
Campaigning on strengths they hold, the issue is not young or old,
Nor is the issue wisdom, my friend, if it is only the wisdom of men.
And neither campaign can afford, to ignore the issues of The Lord,
They can run with a confident nod, but, will not get far without God.
The outcome will be God’s selection, for the winner of this election,
Affecting not just two men, but all, with the changes big, not small,
No matter what the polls do say, changes ahead will be God’s way,
Using the final outcome friend, for blessing or judgment in the end.

Heavy Connection
In the land of a thousand dances
I dance with you
I was out I was taking my chances
When dreams came true
When you came into my dream
Like from a whisper to a scream
And its a real heavy connection
Its just a real heavy connection
Its a real heavy connection
Lalalala......
I remember when I got your message in amsterdam
I was going through my letters
And found a picture-postcard of the reeperbahn
When you came into the room
Not too late and not too soon
And its a real heavy connection
And its a real heavy connection
And its a real heavy connection
Lalalala......
And you came into my dreams
From a whisper to a scream
And its a real heavy connection
And its a real heavy connection
Its just a real heavy connection
Lalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalalala
And its a real heavy connection
And its a real heavy connection
And its a real heavy connection
Lalalala.....
Baby, baby, baby
I cant stop this rainbow
Touching my soul
I cant stop this rainbow
In my soul
Baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby, baby
