When I was 18, I thought my father was pretty dumb. After a while when I got to be 21, I was amazed to find out how much he'd learned in three years.

Dumb Blonde
Dont try to cry your way out of this
Dont try to lie or Ill catch you in it
Dont try to make me feel sorry for you
Just because Im blonde
Dont think Im dumb
Cause this dumb blonde aint nobodys fool
When you left you thought Id sit
An you thought Id wait
An you thought Id cry
You called me a dumb blonde
Ah, but somehow I lived through it
And you know if theres one thing this blonde has learned
Blondes have more fun
You flew too high up off the ground
Its stormy wheater an had to come back down
But Ive found new thread for my old spool
Just because Im blonde
Dont think Im dumb
Cause this dumb blonde aint nobodys fool
When you left you thought Id sit
An you thought Id wait
An you thought Id cry
You called me a dumb blonde
Ah, but somehow I lived through it
And you know if theres one thing this blonde has learned
Blondes have more fun
You flew too high up off the ground
Its stormy wheater an had to come back down
But Ive found new thread for my old spool
Just because Im blonde
Dont think Im dumb
Cause this dumb blonde aint nobodys fool

My Dad In Many Forms
I hear the animals
Of the Forest calling
My name over and over
I went to see
What I saw
It was incredible
The animals making
Dress for me
That was not all
They were also
Doing shoes and purses
All my style
I was wondering
'Why they were doing this? '
Then one wrote it down
On piece of paper
I was amazed
I know why they did it
It was gift for me
From my dad
For my brithday
I was happy
But I thought
It was weird
I don't know my father
Then the same
Animal wrote
That he was my father
I thought it for a while
He must be father
I wonder how
he is a animal and not
Human like me?
He wroteit down
And I know to help
I have to hug him
And cry on him
Then he turn human
He said 'Hi. baby girl'
I hug him And he hug me
Back we took everything
And went home

You've Enjoyed
I thought you would stay as dumb as possible?
Where has this test failed?
There is no one else left,
To depict low life and ignorance AND incompetence,
Except...?
Well...
I thought you would stay as dumb as possible?
There is no where else to turn.
To seek a replacement.
Except...?
I thought you would stay as dumb as possible?
Everything to keep your intelligence unnoticed,
We thought had been done.
Tell me...
I mean 'us',
Tell us more embarrassing things about yourself.
Something tells me...
You have not been embarrassed at all.
Your eyes begin to 'twinkle'...
Each time you are sought to reveal some 'dirt'.
Have you done this on purpose?
Believing we would think you to be embarrassed?
In fact...
You've enjoyed every moment of being depicted like that!
Haven't you?
You have...
Haven't you?
Knowing we would find,
That the being embarrassed...
Does nothing to your cost of expense.
Does it?
Why don't you answer me?
'Oh!
So NOW you want to know what my thoughts are?
And who pays me for this admission?
You?
Or 'we'? ...or both? '

Many Too Many
Many too many have stood where I stand
Many more will stand here too,
I think what I find strange is the way you built me up
Then knocked me down again.
The part was fun but now its over,
Why cant I just leave the stage?
Maybe thats because you securely locked me up
Then threw away the key.
Oh mama,
Please would you find the key.
Oh pretty mama,
Please wont you let me go free.
I thought I was lucky
I thought that Id got it made.
How could I be so blind?
You said good-bye on a corner
That I thought led to the straight.
You set me on a firmly laid and simple course
Then removed the road.
Oh mama,
Please help me find my way.
Oh pretty mama,
Please lead me through the next day.
I thought I was lucky
Oh I thought that Id got it made.
How could I be so blind? oh no...

In the Garden, With My Father
It is spring.
As in my garden, I stand.
In the garden -
My father is there;
... though long since gone...
He IS there.
I tend to the weeds,
The veggies and flowers...
He is there.
I never understood him
(as I should have, could have) ...
Until now,
Here, in the garden.
Where I, like he, work the soil.
I've come just recently
(these last few years)
To enjoy and love my garden so.
- I am not as surprised afterall, as I would have thought,
To find him here.
Here, in the garden.
He loved his garden very much.......
I - at that early age of restless youth - had no use
For such slow moving things.
But now, I see, and myself move, at a much slower pace.
Therefore, it is him I am here and now able to see,
In the garden.
Watching it all grow, so peacefully.
It is somewhat sad, that now,
When I can no longer tell him,
I understand.
For I have come to find... I love the garden too,
Just as much as he;
And we both always will.
My father - standing in the garden -
I now know.
After all these long years.
And I've missed him so;
But, how wonderful to find,
He IS here...
In the garden, our garden,
Always, with me.

Epiphany, Dead Man Walking
i learned to walk again,
the day you drove away
and left me standing in the drive...
i learned to see again,
staring at old photographs
in a book hid away.
i learned to think again,
thinking, and rethinking
every move and every action.
i learned to feel again,
struck dumb with waves of sorrow,
with blood on my lips.
i learned to cry again,
in the dark and sleepless night,
when no one else could see.
i learned to fight again,
pushed back against the wall
with nothing left to lose.
i learned to pray again,
to a God that doesnt answer,
from the gates of hell.
i learned to dream again,
violent shaking nightmares,
waking up to a cold sweat.
i learned to love again
to cherish every moment,
every touch forgotten.
i learned to walk again,
and walked off into the sunset
with our hearts in my hands.

Unwashed And Somewhat Slightly Dazed
Spy, spy, pretty girl
I see you see me through your window
Don't turn your nose up
Well, you can if you need to, you won't be the first or last
It must strain you to look down so far from your father's house
And I know what a louse like me in his house could do for you
I'm the cream
Of the great utopia dream
And you're in the gleam
In the depths of your banker's splean
I'm a phallus in pigtails
And there's blood on my nose
And my tissue is rotting
Where the reats chew my bones
And my eye sockets empty
See nothing but pain
I keep having this brainstorm
About twelve times a day
So now, You could spend the morning walking with me
Quite amazed
As I am Unwashed and Somewhat Slightly Dazed
I got eyes in my backside
That see electric tomatos
On credit card rye bread
There are children in washrooms
Holding hands with a queen
And my heads full of murders
Where only killers scream
So now you could spend your morning talking with me
Quite amazed
Look out, I'm raving mad and Somewhat Slightly Dazed
Now you run from your window
To the prcelain bowl
And you're sick from your ears
To the red parquet floor
And the braque on the wall
Slides down your front
And eats through your belly
It's very catching
So now, you should spend the mornings lying to your father quite amazed
About the stramge Unwashed and Happily Slightly Dazed.

In Prayer to You
Thank you, My Father
For all that You've done for me.
For all that you've done for me...
I thank You, My Father.
Thank you, My Father
For all that You've done for me.
For all that you've done for me...
I thank You, My Father.
Thank You...
Father, Father, Father!
Thank You...
Father, Father, Father!
Thank You...
Father, Father, Father!
For all that you've done for me.
In the early morning hours,
When I arise to greet the Sun...
I feel blessed and prepared,
With such gratefulness...
In prayer to You.
This I must do!
And when noon approaches...
No matter what I have done,
Before that time comes...
That may create a disturbance,
I did not invite nor did I make.
I find time to show it is You I appreciate.
In prayer to You.
This I must do!
Whether or not...
Thunder storms roar,
Or rain drops fall to pitter and pat.
Thank you, My Father
For all that You've done for me.
For all that you've done for me...
I thank You, My Father.
And at the oncoming of Sunset...
Not one moment do I forget,
The power of Your presence...
That showers the blessings,
From You I get!
Thank You...
Father, Father, Father!
Thank You...
Father, Father, Father!
Thank You...
Father, Father, Father!
In prayer to You.
This I must do!

Father & Son
There is the family photograph
That is your father’s face,
There is your father’s father
Grey-gathering years apace;
The son, bright-eyed in the morning,
The father, lined and drawn,
The son became the father
On the day that you were born.
We’ve all set out on the highway
Our fathers wished us well,
The sons became the fathers
In the same distinctive spell;
The road of all beginnings
Is all there is to lend,
But many a twist, and many a turn
Has marred us at the end.
He was my father’s father,
I am my father’s son,
We’ve travelled as far, and farther
Than our father’s years have run;
The twists and turns of fortune
Mean nothing, lost or won,
But the love of a father’s father,
And the love of a father’s son.

Friday's Child
(K.J.Garside C.Gray)
........my daughter,
take her from the water.......
I laid her down.......
For she drinks from the river,
I pray forgive her,
Dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb.
Girl a string of lovers,
Found dead beneath her,
They pulled her down,
For she drinks from the river,
I pray forgive her,
Don't let her drown,
Dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb.
A prayer for the mind who's thread bare,
For those who dare to tread there,
Now the sun is gone,
Oh I pray for my daughter,
I pray support her,
Don't let her drown,
Dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb.

Too Late To Know That
...you stoop
to conquer
a la The Shrew
of that English
playwright, i know
you know his name,
and i won't ask
you about the
obvious
plain simple
stupidity, but i am not amazed
by this
event,
i have long known
women
49 years, two butts a month
four legs a day
women who love
to kill
lice and women who like
to be licked
with man's old weapon,
who cares now
too late to know
that i am
(be surprised)
i wont say it anymore,
i am tired.
49 years, of dumb
bells.

Today... 'Father To The Fatherless
The Father of the Fatherless has fathered me.
No more a destitute orphan am I to be
now I've been born again into God's family
for Jesus sacrificed His life and has saved me.
Psalm 68: 5—5 A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows,
is God in his holy dwelling.

The Bible calls You by many names
each one giving a glimpse of Your glory.
Like a cut diamond radiating in the sun
with every facet depicting an aspect
of Your Divine Nature.
Today I have thought of You as
'The Carpenters Son'
Matthew 13: 53-58
O Father of the fatherless
in whom all families are blessed
I love the way You father me
You gave me life, forgave the past
now in Your arms I'm safe at last
I love the way You father me
Father me, for ever You'll father me
and in Your embrace I'll be forever secure
I love the way You father me
I love the way You father me
When bruised and broken I draw near
You hold me close and dry my tears
I love the way You father me
At last my fearful heart is still
surrendered to Your perfect will
I love the way You father me
If in my foolishness I stray
returning empty and ashamed
I love the way You father me
Exchanging for my wretchedness
Your radiant robes of righteousness
I love the way You father me
And when I look into Your eyes
from deep within my spirit cries
I love the way You father me
Before such love I stand amazed
and ever will through endless days
I love the way You father me

Look Through My Eyes
There are things you life, you learning over time you'll see
Cause out there somewhere It's all waiting if you keep believing
so don't run don't hide
It will be alright you'll see trust me
I'll be there watching over you
Just Take a look through my eyes
If there is a little place somewhere out there
Take a look through my eyes
everything changes you'll be amazed what you find
if you look through my eyes
there will be times on this journey what you see is darkness
out there somewhere till it I finds you
If you keep believing
so don't run don't hide
It will be alright you'll see trust me I'll be there watching over you
Just Take a look through my eyes
If there is a little place somewhere out there
Take a look through my eyes
everything changes you'll be amazed what you find
if you look through my eyes
all the things that you can changes
there's a meaning in everything
and you will find all you need
there is so much to understand
Take a look through my eyes
If there is a little place somewhere out there
Take a look through my eyes
everything changes you'll be amazed what you find
if you look through my eyes
Take a look through my eyes
There is a little place somewhere out there
take you look through my eyes
everything changes you'll be amazed what you find
if you look through my eyes
take a look through my eyes

My Pretty One
Well, I've dreamed about today.
The same dream in many ways.
But I never thought I'd be here,
Be here with you, my pretty one.
Well, I've searched the whole world through.
To find someone whoooo,
Would make this dream come true.
It's you and only you, my pretty one.
Pretty one, I long to hold you.
Through the night, I want to hold you.
Pretty one, has no one told you,
I love you.
Any day and you will find me,
Full of joy when you're beside me.
In a moment like this,
Could it be what I've missed all my life.
Well, I've dreamed about today.
The same dream in sooooo many ways.
But nothing can compare with,
Compare with you, my pretty one.
Well, I love your smile.
And I love your eyes.
And the way you talk, makes me feel so nice.
Nothing can compare with the way you are.
And I need you now, as I write this song.
Did I hear you say you're the only woman,
From a lonely prayer I am in the air.
Well, I've dreamed about today.
The same dream in sooooo many ways.
But nothing can compare with,
Compare with you my pretty one.
But I never thought I'd be here,
Be here with you my pretty one.
Pretty one, I long to hold you.
Through the night, I want to hold you.
Pretty one has no one told you,
I love you.
Any day and you will find me,
Full of joy when you're beside me.
In a moment like this,
Could it be what I've missed all my life.
Well, I've dreamed about today.
The same dream in sooooo many ways.
But nothing can compare with,
Compare with you my pretty one.
No nothing can compare with,
Compare with you my pretty one.

Fatherless... where u at?
Where were you father when I fell?
I lookd to you for so much support
I wished we could get close
But I always knew you were far away
Where were you father when I fell?
I've scraped my arm pretty bad
You never thought to look after me
Tears flow down my face
From the agonizing pain
Of not having you around
My heart is wounded
I wish we could be a team
Where were you father when I fell?

The Sound Of Wings.....
from the bars of the cell,
i learned freedom from the body.
from the underside of the bridge,
i learned home has not a house.
from forty years of working,
i learned the bitterness of the slave.
from the political lies,
i learned that truth cant be bought.
from the books i read,
i learned to reason and question.
from the heroin needle,
i learned the value of life.
from love lost,
i learned how to love.
from doubt i learned seeking,
in seeking i found god to be more.
from the scars on my heart,
i learned to be a man.
from battles fought and lost,
i learned the need for peace.
from discrimination i learned equality,
from anger i learned forgiveness.
from the mirror i learned responsibility...
from the bars of the cell,
i learned the sound of wings!

I was a Scout years ago, before the movement started, when my father took me fishing, camping and hunting. Then I was sorry that more girls could not have what I had. When I learned of the movement, I thought, here is what I always wanted other girls to have.

R.I.P. Dear Dad
It was this day, my father died,
A score and three years back;
One early morn, while he lay ill,
And children were around.
He had double pneumonia:
With diabetes too;
We could not do much about it,
With three children, doctors.
The sudden death anguished us all,
But he was pretty old;
The way he reared us still remains
A puzzle unraveled!
From humble beginnings, he rose
To be a learned man;
He taught and spoke in unmatched style
That put the world dumbfound!
A man of principles so good,
You hardly can find one;
God was his friend, despite all strife;
He kept his simple ways!
The love and care he showed were great;
He was so erudite;
His piety lit up his face
In everything he did!
Oh, what a father great, we lost -
A void that none could fill;
His life and work evergreen stays
In hearts of all children.
Our home is dark without this light,
Which is a star in sky;
He goads us all to follow him,
And reach celestial heights!
O God, we plead and cry and pray,
‘May his soul rest in peace';
He earned his heaven, while on earth,
A righteous soul did cease!
