I was going to shave it. It went in two parts. I got a bob first but it kept falling all over my face. Then it was off, short. The main reason it was long was because my mother cut it short when I was little and I was trying to make up for that.

That's the long and short of it
now you know
how I've been waiting all these years
where I'm coming from
that's the long and short of it.
That's the long and short of it
now you see
just how hot hot jazz was
how it turned about, my bookcase
that's the long and short of it.
That's the long and short of it
now you know
that my arrest record's
not my best record
that's the long and short of it.
That's the long and short of it
now you see
how the Past's like a love
you can neither leave nor live
that's the long and short of it
That's the long and short of it
now you know
it was no gun in my pocket
it was a rocket
that's the long and short of it.
That's the long and short of it
and you're wond'ring dear
how I kept so pure
hull, it was easy
that's the long and short of it.
That's the long and short of it
now you see
so bounce your head
into bed
that's the long and short of it.
That's the long and short of it
read the blues
in these tattoos
make a song of it
that's the short and long of it.
How I wish
there was a bridge-

or the train
of a refrain
then I could board it
but there isn't
no there isn't, so...

Short Peoople
Short People got no reason
Short People got no reason
Short People got no reason
To live
They got little hands
And little eyes
And they walk around
Tellin' great big lies
They got little noses
And tiny little teeth
They wear platform shoes
On their nasty little fett
Well I don't want no Short People
Don't want no Short People
Don't want no Short People
Round here
Short People are just the same
As you and I
(A Fool Such As I)
All men are brothers
Until the day they die
(It's A Wonderful World)
Short People got nobody
Short People got nobody
Short People got nobody
To love
They got little baby legs
And they stand so low
You got to pick 'em up
Just to say hello
They got little cars
That got beep, beep, beep
They got little voices
Goin' peep, peep, peep
They got grubby little fingers
And dirty little minds
They're gonna get you every time
Well, I don't want no Short People
Don't want no Short People
Don't want no Short People
'Round here

Tuesdays Children
Tuesdays children
Were falling short of time
Lets hope we never fall short of love
Memories linger like the fog on the sea
Keeping me out of touch with my reality
Nothing could ever mean as much to me
As tuesdays children
Sometimes I feel like Im falling short of myself
Who I am
What I choose to be
Most of the time tuesdays children
Brings it all back and down to me
These people
These friends of ours
Lets put them on another day
Just leave me tuesdays children
I can face the world my own way
Times like these make me wish
Everyday was a tuesday
Tuesdays children
Youve been so good to me
Tuesdays children

0016 Amphibrach
A tinker, a tailor, a soldier, a sailor...
‘A one and a two and a three and a four, guys…’
The amphibrach sings one of poetry’s basics;
a metrical foot – though a difficult one; it
is named from the Greek, meaning short at
both ends – that is, short, long, short, short, long short;
a poet can use it like this for a few lines, or longer;
however, it always seems trying to be something
else – like, some poor donkey who’s lame in one hind-leg;
it’s happier changing to dactyl or ana-
pest – see what I mean, now?

A Few Cents Short
(john michael montgomery)
Looking for spare change
To put gas in my car
But what Ive found
Wont get me very far
Seems lately the low times
Have hit me pretty hard
cause Im a few cents short
From getting to where you are
Im a few cents short
Of holding you in my arms
And a few cents short
Of keeping us from falling apart
Aint it funny how the money
Can change our lives
cause Im a few cents short
From losing you tonight
So I walked to a pay phone down the road
But a few dimes and a nickel is all I had
The operator wants more money
To place my call
But Im a few cents short
If that dont beat it all
Im a few cents short
Of holding you in my arms
And a few cents short
Of keeping us from falling apart
Aint it funny how the money
Can change our lives
cause Im a few cents short
From losing you tonight
Im a few cents short
Of holding you in my arms
And a few cents short
Of keeping us from falling apart
Sure is funny how the money
Can change our lives
cause Im a few cents short
From losing you tonight
Yes Im a few cents short
And Ill be losing you tonight

Time for a short poem
Short poems are great
they don't take very long
as they're only a few verses
the words won't be spelt wrong.
They can be about anything
as long as they rhyme
and because there short
it don't take much time.
This one isn't about much
in fact nothing at all
the reason it isn't long
is because I'm off to the Football.
So that's the end of this poem
as I'm now off to the match
but before the game kicks off
time for a few beers and a batch!

Life's Too Short
I let you escape, slip through my fingers
We made our mistakes, but memories linger
Each time I turn a corner I swear I see your face
But I'm standing here alone in the wonder
What I really needed, what made me run away?
Was it just somebody's spell I was under
(Chorus)
We all love on borrowed time, tomorrow's flying blind
And life's too short to be living without you
You laughed at my jokes, broke down my defenses
It's like my heart just awoke, and brought back my senses
I've got my motor running, it's all that I can do
Cause every road I'm taking, is leading back to you
Repeat Chorus
We all love on borrowed time, tomorrow's flying blind
And life's too short to be living without you
And life's too short
And life's too short
I give in I can't go it alone, yeah I'm done now I know that you're gone
I need someone to save me and life's too short, too short
I give in I can't go it alone
Life's too short to be living without you
Life's too short
I give in I can't go it alone
Life's too short can't be living without you
Life's too short
I give in I can't go it alone
I can live without you
Life's too short
I give in I can't go it alone
Life's too short to be living without you

Short Rap
Short rap (echo)
Repeat x2
Short rap, is everything
Its what I think, its what I sing
Cause Im a rapper, who lets you know
When it comes to music, I will grow
Rap more raps than any mc
Your rap aint rap cause your rap aint me
Short rap, is what you find
The mastermind, short rap that rhyme
Too short baby, thats the name
When I rap my rap I rap that game
I tell it to you like you always knew
Short raps not fake, its always true
Its me, its you, short rap is life
Its everyday and every night
And I dont just say its this and that
Its everything, its what short raps
Short rap (echo)
Itz what?
Short rap(echo)
Fresh
Short rap(echo)
Short rap(echo)
Short rap(echo)
S-h-o-r-t-r-a-p
Short rap is what I call this beat
Rap that rap like no one else
Im sir too short all by myself
I make fresh raps without your help
And all I want is fame and wealth
Smooth in the game, just like that
And all you hear me say is rap
Short (echo)
Short rap, is way to hard
Every I stop, its time to start
Cause what you find, when I say rhymes
Is a non-stop rap, right on time
Im the kind of person you always thought
Couldnt make a record that would be bought
Sir too short, it couldnt be
Short rap, whats that, short rap is me
Short rap(echo)
Short rap(echo)
So so fresh
I like tenders, young and hot
You never hear short say baby why not?
Im sir too short, Im so down
Mc rapper from the oakland town
You better get up, short raps a song
It really aint short, its much too long
Cause I dont stop, once I start
Short rap, whats that, short rap is art
Took my rap to the neighborhood
From day one too short was good
True mcs make sucka mcs
In my time they rap like me
A brotha said short, hes good as you
Saw me on stage and learned the truth
I was born, to hit the tops
Short rap, I dont stop
Short rap(echo)
Short rap(echo)
Short rap(echo)
Short rap has now affected you
Short rap wont stop until I get through
Short rap could knock,
Sucka mcs stop biting on you and start biting on me
And I wont get mad, cause Im so bad
The rap you have is the rap I had
Now if you want, my new short rap
You can put it in your shorts and bite on that
Sucka mc, you know Im fresh
A rap in my trash can top your best
Check it out boy, here and now
How will you rap when you dont know how
I wish I could hear you answer that
It just wont work and thats short rap
Try to make you understand
Dont make more raps, just be a fan
Short rap(echo)
Short rap, is it sad or funny
I thought you knew short rap is money
Sucka mc, you dont need help
All you need to do is something else
Cause mc rappers are all around
And sucka mcs are like bloodhounds
Sniffing away, to find a rhyme
Just quit rapping and you wont rap mine
Short rap, Im so hard
She got her butter on my candy bar
No time to play, just work and work
I gotta kick back, call me bizurke
Cause thats just all she made me go
Toss it up short, I know you know
Short rap, is everything
Her worst nightmare, her wettest dream
Her mind, her body, short rap is life
Shes just a friend, shes not my wife
I wouldnt even let her in my car
And the babe said Im her lucky star
Im a fresh young bachelor, I roll caddy
86 her cause she said daddy
But thats not it, it wasnt that
Short rap is life so let me rap
I gotta stop sooner, but Ill stop later
Im her man, Im not a player
And I know just what shes thinking of
Sir too short, and all her love
But then she asked for my love back
And all I had was too short raps
I cant lie, I tried to try
Your fun not one, but dont asked why
Short rap(echo)
Short rap(echo)
Is everything
Short rap(echo)
Short rap(echo)
I dont stop, baby
Short rap, is everything
Its what I think, its what I sing
Short rap, in stereo
Short is what you think you know
Your rap is fresh, but look at me
I rap more rhymes than any mc
Living so close up on the hill
Short rap wont stop, it never will(echo)

Forgettin's So Long
One twenty-two fifty nine Oak Drive
Rolls off my tongue like a nursery rhyme
Wooden numbers on the front of your house
Where we fell in love
Little things they stick in my mind
Like they happened yesterday
After all this time
The way it turned out
I never would've thought
I'd remember so much
But why is my heart so weak
And my memory so strong?
Somebody give me one good reason
Love is too short
And forgettin's so long
Somewhere, someday down the road
Maybe I won't care
But when something so right goes so wrong
Love is too short and forgettin's so long
Is there anyone who would please
Tell me where's my checkbook and my car keys?
If it wasn't sewn onto my shoulders
I'da lost my head
Well there's a whole lotta things I forget to do
But I amaze myself when it comes to you
I know nothin' 'bout now
But I know plenty 'bout way back then
'Cause when I think I got it all behind me
And I'm movin' along
You're right there to remind me
Love is too short
And forgettin's so long
Somewhere, someday down the road
Maybe I won't care
But when something so right goes so worng
Love is too short and forgettin's so long

The lofty legs are the beauty.
Short legs and short waist are the ducks.
Long legs and short waists are the geese.
Short legs and long waists are the penguins.
Lofty legs without waists are cranes
Who is graceful?
The crane stands out; the tall woman stands out.

The Truth About Forever
How long is forever really?
You told me you'd love me forever and ever.
I actually believed you.
Forever is really short if its how long we made it.
Which was not long at all.
I gave you my heart,
And you took it for granted.
I can't believe I was that blind
That I did not see that we would never make it.
Forever sounds like a long time,
But you have proven it is really really short.
Forever sounded like a wonderful long time with you.
But now I see your real colors,
I am glad that forever is not long at all with you.

Longer Thoughts
got long thoughts recently like long bamboo poles
with oil around its body
can't climb further
feeling the falling of
helpless ideas
the man sitting over there
says
idealism is lost and we are
hopeless
on the first day of November
above those fluffy skies
near Sulu sea
i sing a song about breaking
days, digging hearts from shallow graves
somehow i think sorrow must have
split ends
cut them and have them
their short hair
some bangs like cute kids
in Sunday church
i think I'll go out, and have a short run
sweat out and be mad.

Metrical Feet
Trochee trips from long to short;
From long to long in solemn sort
Slow Spondee stalks, strong foot!, yet ill able
Ever to come up with Dactyl's trisyllable.
Iambics march from short to long.
With a leap and a bound the swift Anapests throng.
One syllable long, with one short at each side,
Amphibrachys hastes with a stately stride --
First and last being long, middle short, Amphimacer
Strikes his thundering hoofs like a proud high-bred Racer.
If Derwent be innocent, steady, and wise,
And delight in the things of earth, water, and skies;
Tender warmth at his heart, with these meters to show it,
WIth sound sense in his brains, may make Derwent a poet --
May crown him with fame, and must win him the love
Of his father on earth and his father above.
My dear, dear child!
Could you stand upon Skiddaw, you would not from its whole ridge
See a man who so loves you as your fond S.T. Colerige.

A Short Term Effect
Movement
No movement
Just a falling bird
Cold as it hits the bleeding ground
He lived and died
Catch sight
Cover me with earth
Draped in black
Static
White sound
A day without substance
A changeof thought
An atmosphere that rots with time
Colours that flicker in water
A short term effect
Scream
As she tries to push him over
Helpless and sick
With teeth of madness
Jump jump dance and sing
Sideways across the desert
A charcoal face
Bites my hand
Time is sweet
Derange and disengage everything
A day without substance
A change of thought
The atmosphere rots with time
Colours that flicker in water
A short term effect
A short term effect
A short term effect
An echo
And a stranger's hand
A short term effect
An echo
And a stranger's hand
A short term effect

Life is too short
Life is too short for any vain regretting;
Let dead delight bury its dead, I say,
And let us go upon our way forgetting
The joys and sorrows of each yesterday
Between the swift sun's rising and its setting
We have no time for useless tears or fretting:
Life is too short.
Life is too short for any bitter feeling;
Time is the best avenger if we wait;
The years speed by, and on their wings bear healing;
We have no room for anything like hate.
This solemn truth the low mounds seem revealing
That thick and fast about our feet are stealing:
Life is too short.
Life is too short for aught but high endeavor—
Too short for spite, but long enough for love.
And love lives on forever and forever;
It links the worlds that circle on above:
'Tis God's first law, the universe's lever.
In His vast realm the radiant souls sigh never
'Life is too short.'

A slice of life
There is this twig
Long dead
And there is this
Dew clinging
On its side
Even for a very
Short time
There is this death
Long time dead
And there is this
Life
Clinging only for a
Very short moment
There is
You and there is also
I, in a short while
There is really no
Us
Even to utter.

Life's Too Short To Love This Fast
You say hello, I say goodbye
You go your way and I go mine
There's not much time for you and I these days
We work too hard, we're gone too much
And we're too tired to even touch
So just how long can we go on this way
Oh, life's too short to love this fast
If we don't slow down our hearts won't last
We can't keep up this pace we're on right now
We burn the candle at both ends
The circle turns, we start again
Let's make our future better than our past
Life's too short to love this fast
Let's take some time, let's get away
Let's pack our bags and leave today
Girl, anyplace would be okay right now
Just leave your pager here at home
And I won't carry my cell phone
We need to find some time alone somehow
Yeah, life's too short to love this fast
If we don't slow down our hearts won't last
We can't keep up this pace we're on right now
We burn the candle at both ends
The circle turns, we start again
Let's make our future better than our past
Life's too short to love this fast
--- Instrumental ---
We're spinnin' our wheels
Forgetting how love feels
Let's slow down before it's too late
'Cause life's too short to love this fast
If we don't slow down our hearts won't last
Let's make our future better than our past
Life's too short to love this fast
Love this fast
Life's too short...
