Firma Terror (Unavailable On LP)
Written by: G. G. Beers
Length: 3:05
Lyrics:
Here on terra firma
The violence is spreading
The walls are collapsing
Into your back yards
Here on terra firma
The fires are raging
The riots up staging
To prove a point to none
Here on terra firma
The fear is choking
The life out of each and every one
Here on terra firma
Where TV is King
Where a black man with the same name
Had a televised beating
It's not too late
Yeah it's never too late
To heal these wounds
That are fatal to the end
To understand our sins
To make amends
See 'em down in hell
Must turn back the tide
This hatred must be stopped
Let's throw our arms out wide
And the dead are breaking in
When your world comes to an end
Will you say you did all could
And then just hang your head
Why not believe
In the good of man
Not bricks and burn
Take all that you can
To love your fellow man
With all of your heart
As you would yourself
We must try not to stand above
And hate you go to hell
Put love in your heart
God is not some TV show
Our life is not some part
Try to believe
That only good will come
If you give not to receive
That is kingdom come
Here on terra firma
The violence is spreading
Spread to your back yard
Here in firma terror
Leads to hatred and unrest
Not only can we beat it
No, that would be best

When Terra Firma Earthquake Volcano Tsunami Erupts
Earth terra firma safe solid earth under your feet
the Latin phrase terra earth, firma solid, reminds
dry land mass are all safe solid earth beneath feet
continents islands are solid land mass on earth’s surface
but land is not immovable affixed to one solid spot land
is a mobile surface divided into moving tectonic plates
plate boundaries mobile move at relative rates as plates
move against each other enormous pressure builds
up must be released through earth movement the result
natural hazard events earthquake volcano tsunami erupt

Come Dance With Me
Come! Take my hand… and dance with me…..
On terra firma, on a solar breeze brought here by a celestial wind….
In the gentle breeze blowing off the sea-, and the mountains in the eve….
Come dance with me in the Allegro, the Barock and Minuet….
….on intergalactic music eons old, arriving only now, in our quantum space
….on sounds of ancient water streams and waterfalls echoing continuously
….on sounds of oceans and it’s surf of this planet that’s been reverberating for ever
….as if part of our destiny we only now-, somehow mysteriously as if by magic
….we sense, feel and hear it, synchronous with this between us
……this music of terra firma, the cosmos and galaxies,
…and the mystique of eons pasts’ voices of lovers’ gentle whispers floating out there
T’is always been there to enchant travelers and those meandering recklessly
And people like us fools! Adventurous in Love…. And loving
Come! Take my hand…. And dance with me
…and to dance for ever more and always
Please, will you take my hand, my Love…..
Well dance in the shadow of the Namib dunes….
Well dance in the shadow of a huge rock in Orions’ belt….
Well dance in the misty wisps of water under Mount Auxes fall in the gorge below
Come! Let us dance… dance with me ……naked in mind and body

Soldiers
Shadows
never surrender
to the
darkness
and fury
of the storm.
Emboldened,
they stand firm,
as thrashing
rains and wind
soon tire
of the battle
Daylight tears
through skys
of the
weakening gale,
spilling on to
the battered,
exhausted terra firma
Revealing
weary,
valiant
heros.
Soldiers.

My loving mother (Italian)
Amo mia madre
Previdenza e
Io metterò il tuo corpo alla terra
Fiumi e verdi,
Riposa in pace, mamma

Unincorporated Insights XI
Disseminating what is maybe true
Causes us to scatter ourselves like seeds.
Our promulgating ideals will strew
Themselves, rooting within our pseudo-needs.
We watch them knot and snarl beneath our feet,
Disheveling the ground on which we stand.
We watch the branches, gnarling with conceit,
Above our heads as they shadow our land.
We watch the ossified stem sprouting out,
Latching onto the world with a vice-grip,
Standing firm as cement, both thick and stout,
Causing terra firma to bust and split—
And, yet, it withers by our desertion
In the hysteria of exertion.

Dreamworld
The breakfast creek hotel is up for sale
The last square mile of terra firma gavelled in the mail
So farewell to the norfolk island pines
No amount of make believe can help this heart of mine
End - your dreamworld is just about to end
Fall - your dreamworld is just about to fall
Your dreamworld will fall
So shut that buckle and turn that key again
Take me to a place they say the dreaming never ends
Open wide drive that mystery road
Walk through edens garden and then wonder as you go
Sign says honeymoon to rent
Cloudland into dreamland turns
The sun comes up and we all learn
Those wheels must turn

Managed By Miscreants
The terrors of tomorrow collide with monsters
To observe the days of honour,
Those fruitful events of the orders of man.
These events command swimming sailors,
Those few miscreants engaged in idol-worship;
A management was an altar of the highest virtue
And duty. I do not know fortnights and weeks
Of pleasure.
The terra firma formed from the crust
Excels with our spirits of jars and armour.
The whole pottery emerges in the form of thoughts
Thoroughly excellent.
The terror shades the self from the sun or the star
That reigns over shaking earth.
My terrible tense world is afire,
Without the needs of an acting monster.

Columbus
How in God's name did Columbus get over
Is a pure wonder to me, I protest,
Cabot, and Raleigh too, that well-read rover,
Frobisher, Dampier, Drake, and the rest.
Bad enough all the same,
For them that after came,
But, in great Heaven's name,
How he should ever think
That on the other brink
Of this wild waste terra firma should be,
Is a pure wonder, I must say, to me.
How a man ever should hope to get thither,
E'en if he knew that there was another side;
But to suppose he should come any whither,
Sailing straight on into chaos untried,
In spite of the motion
Across the whole ocean,
To stick to the notion
That in some nook or bend
Of a sea without end
He should find North and South America,
Was a pure madness, indeed I must say, to me.
What if wise men had, as far back as Ptolemy,
Judged that the earth like an orange was round,
None of them ever said, Come along, follow me,
Sail to the West, and the East will be found.
Many a day before
Ever they'd come ashore,
From the 'San Salvador',
Sadder and wiser men
They'd have turned back again;
And that he did not, but did cross the sea,
Is a pure wonder, I must say, to me.

Storm And An Old Cargo Ship
A storm is blowing outside, but my cottage is safely anchored on
terra firma. If my abode had been pitching and rolling as ship on
a restless ocean I would not been so cocky, but on my seaman’s
legs stagger about worrying about foamy sea washing the deck
hitting portholes in green fury. As a seafarer I loved the calm sea,
but feared its wroth. The terrible shudder when a big wave hit
and nearly drowning the ship, there was nothing anyone could
do but hope. Yes she did it and I couldn’t help falling in love with
the old girl and call her a swan that knew how to take care of me.
I have a respect for nature I have been helpless in its embrace
waiting what comes next. I survived, sit in a cottage and listen to
the storm, yet I would give years just to once more be out there
taking my chances, and when safely in port, eagerly raise my glass
in the knowledge of that I had been given another day of life.

Mano O Mano
Lyrics & Music: John Oates
See a lot of people walking around and around
terra firma turned them upside down
too scared to reach out maybe afraid of what they'll find
but a hand stuck in a pocket come up empty every time
Now you better believe the writing on the wall
all for one one for all
woman to woman and man to man
face to face heart to heart hand to hand
Mano a Mano
Hand to Hand
Mano a Mann
See a lot of people fighting for the left or the right
fighting people see black or white
you'd like to go your way sure I'd like to go mine
but we're all in this together running out of time
Woman to woman and man to man
heart to heart and hand to hand
set on example for all the little boys and girls
for the hand that rocks the cradle can rule the world
Mano a Mano
Hand to Hand
Mano a Mano

Shiva
Thou art dark tressed space along
Smeared of peaked ashes
Whence strolling souls chained along
Burnt fierce Thine almight Thine darkness
Arises atop the sheening sickle
Ragging Thine kempt Ganges
To splash on terra-firma to tickle
Thou art fire ablaze figureless
To redden orangy sun to sprawling white
To wax the moon to silvery bliss
To generate earth in Thine might
Sphere to rhythm all way around
In Thine cycle of make and remake
In Thine plane of an invisible round
Thou art black and white
Attired of molten gold
Spearing drummy the woes out
With pristine persona serpentined
In still breath of illimitable silence
In heavenly immensities of space
Thou art peace, Thou art peace

High Flyer
They were 'Proctors' and 'Jackaroos' in those days.
Single wing aeroplanes,
two and four seaters,
either open engines, or open under your seat.
Exciting for a seventeen year old.
I went up with the commercial pilots,
logging up their flying hours.
Take off! Climb! Spin on one wing!
Roll! - 'keep looking forward! ',
Stall! - That was the most terrifying thing of all,
not knowing whether the engine would start firing up again.
There were no parachutes, of course.
Flying along the south coast of England,
around the Isle of Wight,
looking down on a 'patchwork' of fields, farms,
towns and villages,
all viewed in 'miniature'.
Those were the days when one felt immortal,
and there was something very romantic
about pilots who flew beyond the clouds.
That death defying, daredevil image.
Somehow, you didn't seem to suffer from nerves
when you were only seventeen, you just had an appetite
to sample the great, unknown, blue yonder.
Now I prefer to have my feet planted firmly on terra firma.
But Oh! those times when I was once a 'High Flyer'.
What memories!
Chocks away.............! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Graveland
Mankind - proud conqueror and king
swings its flag of primal glory to the winds
Titans of the power-myth that failed
Neanderthal hunger for the flesh of war so frail
So weak, so hollow-minded
the primat flock responds
the jester race submits
For each day of war is a failure for man,
enslaved in her mordial genes
Illusions bleed from their fetid cores,
bent to their rotten extremes
We, the plague of Terra Firma,
nature's grand and last mistake
plant the poisoned seed of cancer,
set the severed fruits awake
Burning like frozen relics
in god's archaic graveland
Burn the visionaire
Kill the ideaologies
Mankind must die
The doves and the angels return to their graves
with flames on their pestilent wings
while mushroom-clouds haunt their virginwhite skies
to rape their utopian dreams
Living the last days of evolution's end
from the nest of humanity, the graveland vultures rend

To You, Africa
You are a beautiful terra firma
With beautiful people
Rich in history
Rich in prosperity
You are a land of life hard lived
Through droughts and famines
Your people had a lot to give
Your villages were of close community
Unlike that of civilization
You were the best example
that the world could have seen
Then the toubob began to arrive
And your people were taken
With no regard for your childrens lives
I know you are still shaken
Taken from the land they loved
Shoving their beloved Earth into their mouth
For one last taste of you, Africa
Your people have been stolen
Your people have been killed
Your generations have been lost
Your families have been torn apart
Your people have been enslaved
Your women have been raped
Your people have long suffered
Your people have lived through misery
Stolen for what purpose
Other than to be a serf
Some say it could have been worse
But we know it was the worst
Africa, your people are great
Your people are strong
Your people survived through it all
Your people still sung their songs
After 1865 they were freed
Yet still they were enslaved it seemed
Today there are still places that ban your people
Brought here unwillingly, to this 'land of the free'
Your people are who can change this nation
Your people are here for that reason
All hope is not lost
We will succeed regardless of the cost
This is to you, Africa

Ship Wrecked
The ship Wreck
A sparkle, the freighter exploded and up in the air I flew. Looking down the ship
had vanished in the glitter of sunlight. Into the sea I fell, bubbles and angst,
but I saw above me a raft. The sea, calm, always is, it’s the wind that screams
in defeat as it can’t bend the sea to its will; and shallow land that tries to stop
its progress, the freedom to be itself. Night, around me danced the women
I had loved. I drank their nectar and became the strongest man on earth.
My hearing, acute, when tons of iron hit the bottom of the sea I heard screams
of suffering steel and humanity, in a common voice. I willed sea to become terra
firma, silky sand; I dragged the raft behind me like a sledge, heading for the red
mountain where sun never sets because it has no sea to cool into.
Women had disappeared into fluffy clouds and useless heavenly angels, without
their sustenance I lost my potency, and the sea flooded the land. When my raft
drifted into Sidney harbour it was New Year’s Eve, fairy light committed suicide
by jumping into dark, shark infested water. The scream of broken steel and man
never stopped ringing in my ears.

Pele's Song
Pele's soul made of fire
Flowing lava ever higher.
To the shores of desire.
Fire meets the water
on the shore of life.
The Sea becomes the husband
of this Earthly wife.
With this union
Comes new birth
Of new islands
On this Earth.
For mankind an earthly dwelling
From Her inner core is swelling.
Into life and land above.
Goddess of creation
A cosmic kissed sensation.
Of terra firma Mother Love.
Land and trees fast appearing
From this sacred unseen force.
Upon the seas of life we're sailing,
Soon returning to our Source.
Seeing through the earthly mists
To the many worlds beyond.
Our souls fly like lighting bolts
With astral spheres we are blending
Upon creations scale we are ascending.
Reveling in this new existence.
We cast away all earthly resistance.
When we reach that distant shore
In that realm where our souls belong.
Seeking that which we adore.
We listen for the angels song.
Then in the distance we shall hear
Pele's voice so sweet and clear
Mingling with the joyful angels
as She sweetly sings along.
