They who assert that a blind fatality produced the various effects we behold in this world talk very absurdly; for can anything be more unreasonable than to pretend that a blind fatality could be productive of intelligent beings?

Fatality

Hey you, stuck dreaming of your perfect world,
But when they come, letting chances dropp cold.
Hey you, wishing for a perfect ending,
But when it comes, you're never daring.
You kept getting stuck cold out here,
So now you live in a fairyland far from here.
Stuck with your head in fantasy,
While it's out in front where you won't see.
Fuelling yourself on these great air towers
While you're lying in bed, alone for hours.
Crying out that someone would call your name,
When really, you only got yourself to blame!
You say that you want love? But when one comes with it,
You toss and throw them out.
These chances they come but they won't stay,
So you better take ahold before they, slip away!
So you're stuck inside a world you hate,
Surrounded by walls you can can't break.
Take a look in the mirror, tell me who you see?
Cause it took so long to get to me,
That this is reality: take a hold of a chances in front of me,
Or you're just another fatality, just another fatality.
And this reality,
You're just another fatality.

Spring Sestina

it’s nearly noon and the sun slices
through the thick spring fog, dark
with winter’s gloom, heavy with fatality:
the spent daffodil’s bloom, the cut
tulip whose bulb shrinks into earth,
the dew worm mining to the surface,

the bittersweet-bellied robin surfaces
through cold air, the flight slices
until stick feet meet warm, wet earth
as eyes scan lawns and ditches dark
with winter sleep, the worm cuts
through to the robin’s charge, a fatality

among spring’s chalk marks of fatality
struck against the papery surface
of birch bark, each stain cuts
into the trunk, rips and slices
death as a jagged feature in dark
congealed blood of waking earth,

she is still there, deep in the earth,
calling her children one fatality,
then another, through each dark
season, sinking down from surface,
still air vibrates, incantations slice
through reality, scrape and cut

to the unknown, slash and cut
to another side of the dynamic earth,
the oblivious hyacinth slices
through, refuses to be a fatality
of the season and sings to the surface,
sun shines on the purple florets dark

with pride, ardent hope, like the dark
winter nights that momentarily cut
south past the equator, only to surface
after the humid summer sweat, earth
taking in her own fatality,
battered by tiny atmospheric slices,

dark proud mares issue youth to the earth,
fatalities quickly slip past yawning cuts,
slices of vitality embrace her broad strong surface

Running Blind

Cant find the answers
Ive been crawling on my knees
Looking for anything
To keep me from drowning
Promises have been turned to lies
Can't even be honest inside
Now Im running backward
Watching my life wave me goodbye
Running blind
Im running blind
Somebody help me see Im running blind
Searching for nothing
Wondering if I'll change
Im trying everything
But everything still stays the same
I thought if I showed you I could fly
Wouldn't need anyone by my side
Now I'm running backward
With broken wings I know Ill die
Running blind
Im running blind
Somebody help me see Im running blind
Running blind
Running blind
Running blind
I can't find the answers
I've been crawling on my knees
Looking for anything
To keep me from drowning
I'm running blind
Running blind
Running blind
Running blind
Running blind
Running blind

Blind Love

Words and music by tom waits
Now youre gone
And its hotels and whiskey and sad luck days
And I dont care if they miss me
I never remember their names
They say if you get far enough away
Youll be on your way back home
Well Im at the station
And I cant get on the train
Must be blind love
The only kind of love is stone blind love
The only kind of love is stone blind love
The only kind of love is stone blind love
Oh blind love
Blind love
Stone blind love
Stone blind love
Well the streets turning blue
The dogs are barking and the night has come
And its tears that are falling
From these brown eyes now
And I wonder where you are
And I whisper your name
(I whisper your name)
And the only way to find you
Is if I close my eyes
And find you with my blind love
The only kind of love is stone blind love
The only kind of love is stone blind love
The only kind of love is stone blind love
Oh blind love
Blind love
Stone blind love
Stone blind love
Oh its blind love
The only kind of love is stone blind love
The only kind of love is stone blind love
The only kind of love is stone blind love
Oh blind love
Blind love
Stone blind love

Thus the creation, which seems an arbitrary act, supposes laws as invariable as those of the fatality of the Atheists. It would be absurd to say that the Creator might govern the world without those rules, since without them it could not subsist.

Blind

Signs
Signs are lost
Signs disappeared
Turn invisible
Got no sign
Somebody got busted
Got a face of stone
And a ghostwritten biography
Dogs start to run in,
Hungry for some food
Dogs start a-twitching
And theyre looking at you
It was light
By five
Torn all apart
All in the name of democracy
Hes hurt
Hes dying
Claimed he was a terrorist
Claimed to avert a catastrophe
Someone shoulda told him
That the buck stops here
No one ever said
That he was involved with thieves
And theyre blind, blind
Blind, blind, blind, blind, blind
Blind, blind
Blind, blind, blind, blind, blind
No sense of harmony, no sense of time,
Dont mention harmony,
Say: what is it? what is it? what is it?
Give a little shock, and he raises his hand
Somebody shouts out,
Says: what is it? what is it? what is it?
He was shot down in the night!
Peopple ride by but his bodys still alive
The girl in the window what has she done?
She looks down at me ...
Says: i dont want to die!
And Im blind, blind
Blind, blind, blind, blind, blind
Blind, blind
Blind, blind, blind, blind, blind
Somebody could have told us where they go
Crawling all around looking for foot, foot, footprints
Now tell me what the hell have we become?
Some dirty little bastards what the hell is going on? u
No sense of harmony, no sense of time,
Dont mention harmony,
Say: what is it? what is it? what is it?
Give a little shock, and he raises his hand
Somebody shouts out,
Says: what is it? what is it? what is it?
He was shot down in the night!
People ride by but his bodys still alive
The girl in the window what has she done? she looks down at me ...
Says: i dont want to die!
Theyre blind and theyre blind
Blind, blind, blind, blind, blind
Blind, blind
Blind, blind, blind, blind, blind
Blind, blind

It's The Lover (Not The Love)

People say it constantly
I hear it said so much
I repeat it in my sleep
Maybe I am just a fool for you
Maybe you're no angel too
But all that talk is cheap
When I'm alone with you
(Chorus)
If love is blind
I'll find my way with you
Cause I can't see myself
Not in love with you
If love is blind
I'll find my way with you
All the world is crazy anyway
What's it matter what they say
If I'm the one that's wrong
Then let it be my mistake
(Chorus)
If love is blind
I'll find my way with you
Cause I can't see myself
I'm not in love with you
If love is blind
I'll find my way with you
You wouldn't be with me tonight
If I didn't feel that I was right
What will it matter anyhow a hundred
Years from now
(Chorus)
If love is blind
I'll find my way with you
Cause I can't see myself
I'm not in love with you
If love is blind
I'll find my way with you

When all previous loves are lost

When all previous loves are lost
and I hesitate about the sense of my existence,
I become aware about the fatality of life

while time passes me too quickly
and in the darkness I am alone
and I hesitate about the sense of my existence

and at times it feels as if I am the only one
on this planet, as if the loss of intimacy
folds night after night around me and in the darkness I am alone,

the night gets a own reality, my own actuality
as if only I am isolated
on this planet, as if the loss of intimacy

lets me wonder over being human and about God,
without being able to embrace anybody
as if only I am isolated

still holding stunned to hope.
When all previous loves are lost
without being able to embrace anybody
I become aware about the fatality of life.

I see a blind man this morning

I see a blind man this morning
with dark glasses
and a cream coloured jacket
leading a blind woman
dressed similarly
and his white stick taps past me
and I wonder
how they manage
to get any direction
and it amazes me
that they find the bus stop so easily
and their love is apparent
when they embrace.

I know that life throws its
challenges to people,
but it’s what you make of it
that effects how it turns out
and there’s a God
that also looks after the blind.

Too Blind To Recognize

Too blind to recognize.
No one really knew,
Who they saw on a regular basis.
And this was not encouraged,
To be expected to accept.
Yet discussing other people,
Was what they did best.
Too blind to recognize.

Too blind to recognize.
Disrespecting was all they knew.
And this they did with a full effect.
No one knew who did what.
Or who had experiences to share,
That would provide benefits all would get.
So no one saw to see to receive opportunities,
They would meet but too blind to recognize.

Too blind to recognize,
Gifts given as a prize!
Gifts given they should pride.

Too blind to recognize,
Gifts given as a prize!
Gifts given they should pride.

Just too blind to recognize.
Just too blind to recognize.
Just too blind to recognize...
Gifts given as a prize!
Gifts given they should pride.
Too blind to recognize.
Just too blind to recognize.
Too blind to recognize.
Just too blind to recognize...
Gifts given as a prize!
Gifts given they should pride.
Too blind to recognize.

Blind At Night

I'm blind at night
I'm blind at night
Take your bite
Weigh your might on me

I'm blind at night
When the sun just lets me be
And the moon sets in my eyes
I'm blind at night
Away
with stars from another sky

Spoken for
But woken for
Deranged unloaded
Joker at the door

Blind at night
Sell a favour
With delight
To your neighbour

Stake the mission
on your intuition

Be blind at night
Blind at night
See forever into the light
With your perfect laser vision

When A Blind Man Cries

If youre leaving close the door.
Im not expecting people anymore.
Hear me grieving, Im lying on the floor.
Whether Im drunk or dead I really aint too sure.
Im a blind man, Im a blind man and my world is pale.
When a blind man cries, lord, you know there aint no sadder tale.
Had a friend once in a room,
Had a good time but it ended much too soon.
In a cold month in that room
We found a reason for the things we had to do.
Im a blind man, Im a blind man, now my room is cold.
When a blind man cries, lord, you know he feels it from his soul.

All But Blind

All but blind
In his chambered hole,
Gropes for worms
The four-clawed mole.

All but blind
In the burning day,
The barn owl
Blunders on her way.

And blind as are
These three to me,
So blind to someone
I must be.

Color Blind

Michael w. smith / wayne kirkpatrick
Theres not a world of difference
Out in the world tonight
Between this world of people
Red, yellow, black and white
But instead of riding a rainbow of love
We still are fighting with prejudice gloves
Of anger
With something to claim
But nothing to gain so
Chorus:
Why cant we be color blind
You know we should
Be living together
And wed find a reason and rhyme
I know we would
cause we could see better
If we could be color blind
Somebodys just assuming
Hes up to nothing good
cause hes not like the others
There goes the neighborhood
What kind of world are we living in
Whe we judge a man by the tone of his skin
Its crazy
cause he has a heart
Like you have a heart and
Chorus
Bridge:
Itd be so fine
To be color blind
To open our eyes
And see color blind
I know this world would be a better place
The only race would be the human race
All of those barriers would be erased
Why cant we be color blind
Chorus
