I'm not so widely known that I'm going to be pigeonholed.

I think the other misconceptions when the film came out, he was very upset that it was so widely released and so widely seen. And neither one of us - well, I think I had hopes it would be, 'cause I really did think it was something special.

Misquotation is, in fact, the pride and privilege of the learned. A widely- read man never quotes accurately, for the rather obvious reason that he has read too widely.

I don't want to be pigeonholed into doing just romantic comedies. But they're fun, and especially for women, it's nice to go to see them and enjoy that breath of fresh air.

Pigeonholed
Pigeonholed?
Where do these rumors get started?
I am a Dove in heat!
I'm not trying to compete with those Penguins!
Or whatever they are!
I am doing what I'm qualified to do.
Fly above popcorn and peanut droppings.
I've tried to pop my head in those holes...
But was told I didn't fit in!

Actors get pigeonholed very quickly, particularly movie actors. In the theater, one is more used to casting people against type and trusting that their talent and skill will get them through.

I got pigeonholed a bit. When I wanted to be an actress, I never wanted to be the kind of actress I became.

All These Things
Sometimes I don’t feel who I am.
I don’t feel like what I write
because I don’t want to be pigeonholed
for just one thing I do.
I think myself as a whole
and not just one object.
I call myself a writer,
not a poet,
not a novelist,
neither a songwriter
nor a short story writer be.
I am a writer
because all those things
emulate from within me.

Similar Worlds
The world married to another world,
Pleasing us with its thoughts always.
May it be forbidden to slaughter someone else,
Placing blame on others for their own misdeeds.
Heaven created a slaughter to be known widely
And then the slaughter was not known widely,
Instead there was no slaughter.
For it was the world that held slaughter in its own hands,
Worsening ties with some people elsewhere.
A shining new working planet evolved
And flew one way and only a way that was an orbit,
For it was not a flat world, but round,
Like the balls it contained of spherical shape
Most pleasing to the sight.
Each world was a majestic creation
And these worlds were similar.

Premeditative Thoughts Conditioned
Endorsing one's entrapment.
That I can not give.
Premeditative thoughts conditioned,
Is not a life to live.
To exist to be pigeonholed,
Are afflictions I do not embrace.
To stay fixed and unadventurous,
Has never been my place.
To explain what to do to another to get done,
For them may have purpose.
For me there is none.
Difficulties to overcome,
Are decisions alone one must make.
Some have never done this without an approval.
And seeking acceptance results in one's heartbreak.
Life is lived to experience it.
And many would rather not!
Since their fears they can not shake.
And how can that be explained to anyone?
When it is known by those who have done it...
That is what it takes!
