I believe that if i should die, and you were to walk near my grave, from the very depths of the earth I would hear your footsteps.

Footsteps

(l. stansfield/i. devaney/r. darbyshire/f. musker)
Dont give up, youre not alone
Though youre weak and chilled to the bone
I will shore the pain that youre going through
If theres one set of footsteps Ill be carrying you
If theres one
One set of footsteps in the sand
One set of footsteps
If theres one
One set of footsteps in the sand
One set of footsteps
If youre losing faith, Ill understand
Dont be afraid Im holding your hand
If you trust in me then I will be true
If theres one set of footsteps Ill be carrying you
If theres one
One set of footsteps in the sand
One set of footsteps
If theres one
One set of footsteps in the sand
One set of footsteps
Then Im gonna walk on, walk on
Im gonna walk on till the hurt is gone
Walk on, walk on
Im gonna keep going, gonna carry on
Walk on, walk on
Im gonna walk on
Im gonna walk on
Dont give up, youre not alone
Gotta try to be strong, youve got to move on
Just hold on tight and youll make it through
If theres one set of footsteps Ill be carrying you
If theres one
One set of footsteps in the sand
One set of footsteps
If theres one
One set of footsteps in the sand
One set of footsteps
Walk on, walk on
Walk on, walk on
Im gonna walk on till its gone

Footsteps

Footsteps in the dark
Only love will break your heart
Footsteps, footsteps
Whenever trouble comes around
Or lonely nights lead underground
And far in the dark
Abandoned cars suddenly start up
An anxious sound
As long as I hear your footsteps
In the dark thats all I need
Footsteps in the dark
Only love will break your heart
Footsteps, footsteps
When loneliness induces fear
Like waves against a
Ramshackle pier
When thunder and rain
Scar the windowpane once again
I want you near
As long as I hear your footsteps
In the dark thats all I need
Im longing to see you
I want you, I need you
Like a child who feels afraid
Of the dark at night
Hoping to hear a gentle touch
Turning on a welcome light
As long as I hear your footsteps
In the dark thats all I need
As long as I hear your footsteps
In the dark thats all I need
Footsteps in the dark
Only love will break your heart
Footsteps, footsteps
Footsteps in the dark
Only love will break your heart
Footsteps, footsteps

I Wish You Were Here

Footsteps, I can hear footsteps in the hall
I hear footsteps, seems like Ive been through this before
Some time has come now, some time has passed
But things still look the same
Is heaven all above, and paradise below
And the questions still remain
Ooh, can we see you?
Ooh, are we near you?
How could you disappear out of here?
I wish for something, I wish you were here
Footsteps, I can hear footsteps in the hall
I hear footsteps, it seems like Ive been through this before
Well we loved you then, I guess we always will
We love you still from here
Birds of a feather always stay together
And never separate, no fear
Ooh, can we see you?
Ooh, are we near you?
How could you disappear out of here?
I wish for something, I wish for something
I wish you were here, I wish you were here
I wish you well
Footsteps, I can hear footsteps in the hall
I hear footsteps, seems like Ive been through this before
If all the world was turning blue and gold
Like through your eyes so clear
The time has come to celebrate our past
And crystalize this sphere
Ooh, can we see you?
Ooh, are we near you?
How can you disappear out of here?
I wish for something
Ooh, can we see you?
Ooh, are we near you?
How can you disappear out of here?
I wish for something
I wish you were here, I wish you were here
I wish you well
There will come a day
Oh some day our day will come
Our day will come, our day will come

Walking In My Footsteps

You're walking in my footsteps
From the tracks
That I have left.
You're walking in my footsteps
For now you see
My regrets.
For now you walk
With a limp
From your burdens
Your back is bent.
And you're walking in my footsteps
For now I see
That you're upset
You're walking the road
That I've walked before
The one I swore
I'd walk no more.

And you're walking in my footsteps
For now you see
The tracks I left
You're walking it so fast
Just like a run
Leaving the mud prints
Under the sun
That dries up
and turns to dirt
Which blows away
But stays the hurt.

And you're walking in my footsteps
From your burdens
That I have kept
I see the blood
That I have shed
Mixed with yours
Though it still is red.

And you're walking in my footsteps
For the footsteps now, are the same
With the same depth
From the same tears
From the same old troubles
From the same old fears.
And you're walking in your footsteps
For mine are gone
And yours are here.

Walking In The Love Of God

To plummet the depths of a bottomless sea
That's filled with truth and love
To scale a mountain that has no top
Is to revel in the Father's love

To fly in a sky that has no end
And to fly with wings of a dove
Is to soar in updrafts of His majesty
To be carried on the winds of love

To live with the Love of God in me
To look through my Father's eyes
To have ears that hear what the Spirit says
Is to break all fetters and ties

To walk in such glorious freedom
Is to walk in the light from above
Neither chained nor shackled by earth's dim view
But free to walk in His love

Let Me Die In My Footsteps

I will not go down under the ground
Cause somebody tells me that deaths comin round
An I will not carry myself down to die
When I go to my grave my head will be high,
Let me die in my footsteps
Before I go down under the ground.
Theres been rumors of war and wars that have been
The meaning of the life has been lost in the wind
And some people thinkin that the end is close by
Stead of learnin to live they are learning to die.
Let me die in my footsteps
Before I go down under the ground.
I dont know if Im smart but I think I can see
When someone is pullin the wool over me
And if this war comes and deaths all around
Let me die on this land fore I die underground.
Let me die in my footsteps
Before I go down under the ground.
Theres always been people that have to cause fear
Theyve been talking of the war now for many long years
I have read all their statements and Ive not said a word
But now lawd god, let my poor voice be heard.
Let me die in my footsteps
Before I go down under the ground.
If I had rubies and riches and crowns
Id buy the whole world and change things around
Id throw all the guns and the tanks in the sea
For they are mistakes of a past history.
Let me die in my footsteps
Before I go down under the ground.
Let me drink from the waters where the mountain streams flood
Let me smell of wildflowers flow free through my blood
Let me sleep in your meadows with the green grassy leaves
Let me walk down the highway with my brother in peace.
Let me die in my footsteps
Before I go down under the ground.
Go out in your country where the land meets the sun
See the craters and the canyons where the waterfalls run
Nevada, new mexico, arizona, idaho
Let every state in this union seep in your souls.
And youll die in your footsteps
Before you go down under the ground.

Walk In The Night 1

Walk in the night where you're
Not likely to be worried sick by
The pitter-patter innocent footsteps
Of the kidnapped child victims
Go into the belly of the night
And hear not the click-clank
That suddenly ends after the woman
In danger's screams have fallen silent
Enjoy the leisurely stroll under cover
Of the night and be not scarred of
The clomp of the heavy footsteps that
Follow you into the alleyways of the night
Walk into the night and do not allow
Yourself to be intimidated by
The clippety-clop sounds of the dead
Horses that you sight in the night
Step, step, step into the gentle night
Be less afraid under the ominous
Clouds of the night and you will hear
With a clear beat the plodding and
The shuffling and the tap tapping
Boots of the owners of the night as
They close in on you where you shiver
With fear where you hide

A Poem Is Born In Life Beats

I imitated from God who was teacher
God spoke this creation into being
as we brother sister poets share images
God seeds into our brains our being

I walk follow in the footsteps of God
as you do also formless we were before
God breathed breath of life into our
being we share the same journey as one

we are following in footsteps immortal
all life is gift of this our Almighty God
feel oneness of all this life given forms
created within mind our divine creator

guardianship was given us in paradise
authority given over earth all animal life
we who remain remnant still following
carry voice speak a purpose earth care

in this oneness of true purpose shared
your success is mine your failure mine
we are together united in noble cause
listen earth suicide is felt cry stillness

hand of earth rapists surrounds us
earth rapists defile this earth temple
delight thinking they win all wealth
new heaven new earth awaits purity

Foot steps

I walked the footsteps of life.
Through hot cobbles and fire.
I walked the footsteps of pain and hurt.
I was forced to walk in to the woods.

I was forced to do it.
Forced to have sex against my will.
I was foced to feel hurt and pain.

I walked all kinds of footsteps
Footsteps of life.
God how some did hurt.

I walked the footsteps many times.
The footsteps of rape.
Each time by a different man.
To hurt more each time

I am sure that fading figure is you Mom!

Wherever I go I hear your secret footsteps Mom
And I want you to tell something eagerly about my plight,
Like the olden days of your precious lullabies.
But I found myself totally dumb
Anyway I hear your mild footsteps and I follow your way Mom!

*Whenever I think of you Mom I feel like burning and I know you give me teardrops to survive.

One Less Set Of Footsteps

We been runnin away from
Somethin we both know
Weve long run out of things to say
And I think I better go
So dont be getting excited
Oh when you hear that slammin door
Cause therell be one less set of footsteps
On your floor in the mornin
And weve been hidin from somethin
That should have never gone this far
But after all its what weve done
That makes us what we are
And you been talkin in silence
But if its silence you adore
Therell be one less set of footsteps
On your floor in the mornin
Well baby one less set of footsteps on your floor
One less man to walk in
One less pair of jeans on your door
One less voice a-talkin
But tomorrows a dream away
Today has turned to dust
Your silver tongue has turned to clay
And your golden rule to rust
If thats the way that you want it
Oh thats the way I want it more
Well theyll be one less set of footsteps
On your floor in the mornin
Well therell be one less set of footsteps on your floor
One less man to walk in
One less pair of jeans on your door
One less voice a-talkin
But tomorrows a dream away
And today has turned to dust
Your silver tongue has turned to clay
And your golden rule to rust
If thats the way that you want it
Oh thats the way I want it more
Cause baby one less set of footsteps

Oh baby one less set of footsteps
On your floor in the mornin

Following In Your Footsteps

(ian hunter/mick ronson)
Some folk leave courage,
Some folk leave you hope
Why am I out here hangin
Like a fool at the end o my rope
Some folk leave you wisdom,
Some folk leave you signs
You can never be sure
What went on before
Life is just a matter of time
Picture of you,
Clouding my view
Im following in your footsteps,
Tryin to make some sense of it all
Maybe its a sign of weakness,
But thats where my footsteps fall
Im following in your footsteps,
Tryin to hang on to your dreams
You never got what you wanted
So I never got what I need
Im following in your footsteps,
cos thats where the footsteps lead
Someone must have given me anger,
Someone must have given me hate
Or why would I stand here shakin,
When theres so many chances to take
Pictures of you,
Climb into view
Im following in your footsteps,
Tryin to make some sense of it all
Maybe its a sign of weakness,
But thats where my footsteps fall
Im following in your footsteps,
Watchin my children grow
Theyre following in my footsteps
Takin it on the road
Were following in your footsteps
cos thats where the footsteps go
Were following in your footsteps, yeah
cos thats where your footsteps go

Truly, Truly, This Is The End

They say deaths an open door
Into another room
Within the city of the dead
(Our New Kingdom)
They say we walk like dreams
Sharing the same breath
Seeing through the same eyes
(A collective spirit)
As we pray (As we pray)
On his grave (On his grave)
Or words fall and decay (And decay)
As we pray (As we pray)
On his grave (On his grave)
Or words fall and decay (And decay)
They say the Earth it gives no peace
Nor does it take away
We all survive the grave
(Unfortunate eternal)
They say that in times past
A king walked in the sky
Until dethroned by man
(Tribe of Judas)
As we pray (As we pray)
On his grave (On his grave)
Or words fall and decay (And decay)
As we pray (As we pray)
On his grave (On his grave)
Or words fall and decay (And decay)
Truly, truly, this is the end
Truly, truly, this is the end
Truly, truly, this is the end
Truly, truly, this is the end
It's not the same
I'm plagued with pain and I can't let go
It's not the same
I'm plagued with pain and I can't let go
It's not the same
I'm plagued with pain and I can't let go
It's not the same
I'm plagued with pain and I can't let go
This is the end

Autumn Footsteps©

Crisp and crackling,
Colors abound.
Crunching and crinkling,
On Autumn's ground.

Colors surrendered
To the Earth's floor,
Autumn compelled,
Sheds her crown once more.

Colors creating footsteps,
Unique unto their own,
Like the feet that print them,
Only to one they're known.

In the quiet solitude
When no one is near,
If you close your eyes,
The rustle you can hear.

Scuffling and shuffling,
To hear that noise once more,
Or just slowly strolling,
Lest Autumn close her door.

Now the steps are hastening
From a gentle rain,
Makes not a matter,
Her echo is the same.

And when again
The sun does prevail,
Autumn Footsteps can
And will renew their trails.

Walking In Your Footsteps

Fifty million years ago
You walked upon the planet so,
Lord of all that you could see
Just a little bit like me
Walking in your footsteps
Hey mr. dinosaur
You really couldnt ask for more
You were gods favourite creature
But you didnt have a future
Walking in your footsteps
Hey mighty brontosaurus
Dont you have a lesson for us
You thought your rule would always last
There were no lessons in your past
You were built three stories high
They say you would not hurt a fly
If we explode the atom bomb
Would they say that we were dumb?
Walking in your footsteps
Fifty million years ago
They walked upon the planet so
They live in a museum
Its the only place youll see um.
Walking in your footsteps....
They say the meek shall inherit the earth....
Walking in your footsteps....

This Earth That You Walk Upon

Whats your name
Whats your nation
Sense of order
Sense of speed
Earth that you walk upon
Shakes his hand
Turns away
Turns his back and walks away
Earth that you walk upon
Earth that you walk upon
Whats your name
Whats your nation
Sense of order
Sense of speed
Earth that you walk upon
Passing on and on
Earth that you walk upon
Screaming edge of light
Shines so shines so hard
Earth that you walk upon
Turning on

Mask

My thoughts are hidden behind a
Stone – like mask, once unsmiling, but never weeping- as
I began my solitary walk into the darkness.
I remember the day that
I built a moat around my castle walls
Morning transformed into night and it was
On that starless night
The sun barely set and in all of its fullness, the moon never rose,
At daybreak, fog overshadowed the sun, and
It could have been because
On the same dank and sultry day
My lifelong summer came to an end.
The sun rose in the west and the earth stood still.
Torrential rain poured out
From the depths of me, and
It was upon that last day ever that
I let the world surrounding me see the storm through my startled eyes.
The screaming of the locusts, the sounds of cars racing down the highway,
The hammering of the hail upon the pavement and
The heavy footsteps of people walking outside
Could not surpass my silent though desperate cries…
The early morning fog descended
And settled around my castle walls- jet black as the
Tempest that raged behind those walls,
In which I became both the queen and the prisoner
Although-
No one would have known because
I had firmly pasted a frozen smile
Upon that stone-like mask that I donned night and day-
Everyone was too busy
Reading about the wars in the far-east and the plight of the homeless-
Nobody could see or hear the war that was rampant inside of me-
I have no home in this world; I walk alone.
Above the calling of the wild geese,
The rush hour traffic, the spattering of the rain upon the rooftops outside-
No one listens to the sound of shattering dreams because
That frozen smile-
Was just too beautiful…

Flowers Upon Their Graves.

Hush! Do closer come, lets hear the last,
untangle the breaths that ride in past,
when beneath the grave lies and not hears,
shuts the curtains to our simple fears,
don't commune and close the doors to us
we suppose it so, in common fuss.
Hear may you not, if you try so hard,
feel you may not in this grave yard;
for in listening, share the living part
and by feeling, comfort the mortal heart.
We love them so, we loved them much
the mother-wit of the tombs is such,
we perch beside them, in mourning sit,
are sorrow for their departing fit!
Come see! -Aren't graven so these graves,
learn do the fashion in which behave-
transmit not they, through a simple plan
do they what, cant do a breathing man.
The flowers upon the graves I've seen
what colors and scents there haven't been-
as they loved you so, they love you more,
their falling apart cant you adore,
but, that they show are all signs to you
that the aggrieve realms are smiling too.
If you cannot hear, or cannot you feel,
with a sight that the third eye does peel,
see, to the perished not a bouquet give,
when know that they too in dying live,
and from the depths they too hear and see
into a garden turn, wherever be.

People talk the streets hypnotic

Another day has come
And I cannot help it
I’ve got to go out and hear
I’ve got to go out and let it hear me
Walk the streets like walk the clouds
People speak people laugh
People laugh and their laughter
Spreads my laughter too
People look at me I look at them
They want to come into my eyes
They wonder I wonder
I take them like a picture
I want to go in they take me in
We walk together
People talk shallow talks
I hear the depths below
People beg the streets
I beg the streets with them
People seek the streets
Being sought by them
People cry my tears
People kiss I can feel the kisses
People touch I can feel the touches
People talk the streets
I talk people in the streets
Put fragments of their talk
Into a Hypnos mosaic
Of my own words
‘Communication is health. Communication.’

End Of Line

End of the Line

Old man, yes, you who walk near the houses on the pavement
down the street using a cane, is there something wrong with
your hips? Hey! Old man when you see a group of youngsters
standing by the corner you feel fear, and if they make fun of
the way you walk you pretend not to hear only try to walk faster.
It didn’t used to be like this you looked the world in the eye as
you broad shouldered swaggered down the street of life, no one
dared to challenge you then; you didn’t know it was going to end
like this. Hey! Old man your life is behind you and your future is
the grave, and your walk often takes you to the cemetery where
you often go and read the names of people you used to know.
You live in pain- tell me way- most of the time, watch irrelevant
news TV, while drinking a little whisky. Every Saturday you go
the café and drink beer with other old men, only there are so few
of them now. Hey! Old man with a foot in the grave, in your dream
you are still virile and when you wake up you feel young until you
see the cane or your face in the unforgiving mirror. Yet you go on
living your loveless life in the hope of seeing another spring and
see the blossoming of the almond tree.
