Misery One O One
there is this philosophy
(and i assure you it is adopted by many
perhaps,
without their knowing it) that-
when we make ourselves miserable
people who are miserable
(and the majority is miserable
for quite long)
...will love you for it, since you are like a fallen angel
from up there
and here you are without wings and muddy and bruised
and very much like all of them
and now
with them.
they will love you for this misery
and since you have not really experienced true love
(since you feel that you are abandoned
and molested by whom, how do i know?)
you accept
love in misery
misery loving another misery
misery that seeks company
and here is company....
and so look at this paradox of you
(you do not deserve this, but you choose it just the same)
happy, so happy, in the midst of miserable people
wallowing in misery
the big house in the exclusive millionaire's row
where you once lived
waits for you
you can be there anytime you want
as you still immerse in that feigned misery
Misery 101.
They will give you a grade for that.
Have fun.

Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now
I was happy in the haze of a drunken hour
But heaven knows i'm miserable now
I was looking for a job, and then i found a job
And heaven knows i'm miserable now
In my life
Why do i give valuable time
To people who don't care if i live or die ?
Two lovers entwined pass me by
And heaven knows i'm miserable now
I was looking for a job, and then i found a job
And heaven knows i'm miserable now
In my life
Oh, why do i give valuable time
To people who don't care if i live or die ?
What she asked of me at the end of the day
Caligula would have blushed
"oh, you've been in the house too long" she said
And i (naturally) fled
In my life
Why do i smile
At people who i'd much rather kick in the eye ?
I was happy in the haze of a drunken hour
But heaven knows i'm miserable now
"oh, you've been in the house too long" she said
And i (naturally) fled
In my life
Oh, why do i give valuable time

Number Five With A Bullet
We're gonna die like this you know
miserable and old
really gotta hand it to you
really gotta hand it to you
are you positive
absolutely sure
well just get dressed, don't do this
just get dressed, don't do this
spend the night lit listening to miles davis
you said it makes you want to fall in love
or be smart enough to keep your distance
you can't decide, you can't decide
we're gonna die like this you know
miserable and old
really gotta hand it to you
really gotta hand it to you
(well just so you know)
are you positive
(when we get home)
absolutely sure
(we're through)
well just get dressed, don't do this
(we're through)
just get dressed, don't do this
it's a long way back south
(to where i belong)
well you've been there once or twice
(and you still don't like it)
i say you just never gave it a chance
(well give me a chance, give me a chance)
besides did you ever stop to think
that we could keep this up living like theives
(but you can't decide)
you can't decide
(no you can't decide)
well you can't decide
we're gonna die like this you know
(we're gonna die like this)
miserable and old
(miserable and old)
really gotta hand it to you
(miserable and old)
really gotta hand it to you

Miserable Dreamer
My favorite dream…
Is the one that I have every night
Is the one that leaves me crying when I wake up
I dream…
Of your clear blue eyes
Of you
My favorite dream is the one that makes me miserable
My favorite dream…
Is one that always turns into a nightmare
Is one that reminds me that you left me
I dream…
Of your laugh
Of you
My favorite dream is one that makes my miserable
My favorite dream…
Is one that makes me relive every second I spent with you (good & bad)
Is one that makes me smile and cry at the same time
I dream…
Of your hugs
Of you
My favorite dream is one that makes me miserable
I don’t care if I’m miserable when I wake up…
At least I get to spend time with you…
If not just only in my dreams…

The Woman Next Door
this woman is beginning
to grow white hair
her hands are rough and the skin there
are loosing from the
fingers like
hand gloves made of
cloth
she has to wear sunglasses
even during the rainy seasons when the skies are gray
when the world is too cold
and the parks are
empty
where she finds herself alone
strolling under those
old trees
she is losing touch
of other people who seems not to see her
her presence disregarded
to hide her disappointments
she goes to the mall and buys things that she does not like
a matter of compulsion-obsession
pulling and pushing her from one corner
to another
quite a pity
she feels miserable and people avoid miserable people
they think
that misery is contagious
and who wants misery?
i am intimately involved with this woman
more in the line of pity
more on the aspect of empathy
there are many things that i must tell her
but it will not be for now
scattered atoms inside a glass of muddy water
need a little settling before one must describe to her
what really happened and what to do next
who knows? perhaps i really love her.

Why the Race Hatred?
Why-Why-Why humanity is war-like?
For every little reason each other they want to strike
As in the war a grenade blow up a man's feet,
In all his life he hated all in the enemy country,
All of them he wanted to beat.
A woman had bad experience with a priest,
So, in all her miserable life she hated God, as a nonconfirmist.
The world is full with race, color, parents, even neighbor hatred,
All those foolish people destroying themselves.
Because about their own life they are agitated.
There are good and bad in every race
It is foolish to hate all, it is your own disgrace
If you hate the whole race because one did you wrong,
You'll answer with a miserable life, don't be headstrong.
So many wise teacher talked about peace and love in their teaching,
Wake up people, stop being a hypocrite, get some understanding.
See, that you are not better then anyone on this planet,
For your own sake live in peace, & respect others,
That you never should forget.

Guess What?
Guess what?
When I discovered,
I could appreciate my own happiness.
Without feeling the guilt of being selfish,
Or self centered.
I began to do it with more consistency.
I was one who believed,
Doing for others came first.
To bust my butt for my brother!
Be dutiful and strong for my sister.
And so on and so forth.
You know...
That me for you,
You for me BS.
I am 62 years old.
And that kind of human spirit...
I have witnessed used infrequently.
And I can't be the only one...
Subjected to live in the valley of leeches.
Some folks are blessed to give with that sacrifice.
And this too I have learned...
You can not do enough for other people.
They will squeeze you dry of every emotion you have.
And then complain to anyone who listens...
About how 'you' think you are better than everyone else.
Guess what?
When I discovered,
I could appreciate my own happiness.
Without feeling the guilt of being selfish,
Or self centered.
I began to do it with more consistency.
And left those to say what they will,
Alone.
Because they will.
Whether they are alone or not!
Guess what?
I've also learned I can spend wonderful times,
Away from miserable people!
And I'm not saying 'all' are miserable.
Just the ones I enjoy being away from!
