Regression to the stage of early infancy is not a suitable method in and of itself. Such a regression can only be effective if it happens in the natural course of therapy and if the client is able to maintain adult consciousness at the same time.

There is nothing really ever to fear
Fear is regression
regression is pain
pain turns sweet sunshine into bitter rain
take my hand my dear
for there is nothing to fear
Fear is anguish
anguish is sorrow
sorrow is but a deep hole so hollow
let this not be the end of me
hold me tight and set me free
oh embrace me so close, so near
for there is nothing really ever to fear
Fear is destruction
destruction is chaos
chaos is a cynical and unruly boss
that can become your surpressive master
do not let fear take control
of the every corner of your innocent soul
Take my hand oh my dear
hold me so very near
for there is nothing that we should ever fear!

But it is possible that, in the days ahead, these years we have lived through may eventually be thought of simply as a period of disturbance and regression.

Therapy
Therapy therapy
Lost sight-I think I'm getting out of my range
Colors flash-now things are starting to get strange
Start it up-and you say you wanna get in on me, I need I need I need my
Therapy-now just relax we'll put your mind at ease
Therapy-but first you've got to say "pretty please"
Therapy therapy
Fire it up-put a little gas on the brain
All aboard-a ride on the newest thang
Chew chew-lookt out it's a runaway train, pure pain, no gain, insane it's
Therapy-and right before they dig into my mind
Therapy-the Dr. screams "let's got it's party time"
Therapy therapy
Left right left right-like every heartbeat needs a motion
Left right left right-like every wave needs a sea
Left right left right-like every teardrop needs a eyeball
Left right left right-you've got to name your therapy
Therapy! Therapy! Therapy!
Therapy Therapy
Snap pop-a sweet emotion just broke loose
Don't care-it ain't nothing I can use
Ha! Ha!-ain't it funny how we all abuse you choose, abuse, you lose now
Therapy-you know we want to help we really care
Therapy-but when your money's gone you're out of here!

For Heavens Sake
(gill/johnson/nash/otoole)
Leave them behind, those clouds of trouble
We have to find a world thats new
Buy a new dress and go out dancing
Do all the things you wanna do
For heavens sake, you have to break away
Unchain yourself, from the mood of today
We dont need aggression
We dont need recession
Just give us some money
Our life could be sunny too
We dont need regression
Nor means of repression
Our life could be sunny too ,ooh
Our lives should be so full of laughter
With endless joy to follow after
Summer comes to girls and boys
Never too late, but to enjoy, to enjoy
Oh come on down from your ivory tower
Unlock the doors and give us flowers
Weve wored for you now for too long
Weve done whats right, youve done us wrong
For heavens sake, we got to break away
Unchain yourself, from the mood of today
We dont need regression
Make your impression
Oooh, world is waiting
We need to go out dancing
Oooh, world is waiting
We need a new t.v.
Oooh, world is waiting
We dont need fear and fighting
Oooh, world is waiting
We dont need history
She should buy us all a drink
She should buy us all a drink
She should stop the pain, stop the pain
She should buy us all a drink
Yeah
We dont need recession
Nor means of repression
Just give us some money
Our life could be sunny too
Just give us some money
Our life could be sunny too, ooh
She should stop and think, stop and think, oooh
We dont need regression
Nor means of repression
Just give us some money
Our lives could be sunny too, ooh

Regression is the end
When I say to some that he is my friend,
I don’t mean that he has no other friend.
When I mention that she is my beloved,
I mean that she has no other lover.
Love is taking the place of friendship
And marriage will soon be outdated.
Progression will bring about regression.

Hallowed Point
High velocity bullet at close range
Can damage the mind
Shattering the skull shredding the brain
Severing the spine
Bury a round of lead in the chest
It's quite an impression
I'magine the innards of your soul
The infliction
Instinctive regression
With intent to kill
No regard of human life
Or the blood spilled
Riddled convulsions
Confetti of flesh
Scattered helplessly
Losting your control of physical
Facilities
Release the slide to cleanse inside
Prepare to anoint
Snap the tongue in the groove discharge
To make my hallowed point
Instinctive regression
With intent to kill
No regard of human life
Or the blood spilled
The power of a gun
Used with conviction
Disperesed on excursions
Randomly kills its victims
My sweet revenge
Bitter in depression
The thrilling release
Of a hatred deep persuasion
The power of a gun
Used with conviction
Diffused compulsions
Unending repercussions
Violent emotion
Screaming revolution
Spasmic convulsions
Death an empty gun

Vicious Circle
The whole world revolves around
As suitable match is found
There is different story to tell
Everything goes smoothly and well
Stars may shine and twinkle
Moon may spread the light of candle
Nothing is taken note of
Even if passers by watch and laugh
It is delicate stage
It comes with advancement of an age
How can we blame natural change?
When blank space won’t be liked on page?
Life can change the course
If there is determination of course
You need suitable partner
She can take care and act as Gardner
It is nice to spend few moments
With dead silence and no comments
Only with few whispers and small gestures
To decide the destiny and future
We might have not taken notice
As it was the occasion to commit promises
Life may push any time to extreme corner
We have to realize it later or sooner
The pre-selection stage is extremely important
The decision are taken on the spot and instant
It may shape the whole life cycle
And place safely out from vicious circle

Burdened to Maintain the Presence
Degrees obtained to succeed,
In the feeding of a progressive society.
Has not proven effective.
Not if intentions,
Were to uplift consciousness.
Many 'scholars' find themselves,
Burdened to maintain the presence...
Of a material success.
And discovering,
They have acquired less happiness.
With wishes to have a peace of mind,
If it can be found...
Among the trappings that have enslaved.
Or easily purchased!
If they had the time.

Early Works - Maurice
The devil’s lady flames have lit
the IRA have bombed the manuscript
never mind there is no relaxation
this time it might get to Glenda Jackson.
A week gone by far away
here comes the Cadbury kid with his Milk Tray.
He is ready for dangers to face,
some more literary grace.
Comedy in an inert expression
there is no regression
Maurice sits in solemn pose
pondering in degrees I suppose
conscious of all repetition
inherited in the pieces at their presentation,
criticism is slight,
but a meaningful insight.
So here, I sit in deep dispose
trying to write poetry and no prose.
Maurice sits in elevation
listening to my deviations,
the adventures of a bar of soap
oh, my is there any hope.
Regression, repetition, inhabitation
is there any compensation.
The sweet bird of youth
from heaven will fly
words of solemn prose
an ode to a dying rose.
No laughter as began the page
only silent rage.
This poem was only for fun
so no harm done.
Date unknown, probably 1979.
Author’s Note:
This was written as a bit of fun for my tutor, mentor and friend Maurice Callard. The Devil’s Lady was a play he wrote and sent it to a London Agent. During an IRA bombing campaign in London, the Agent’s office was destroyed along with Maurice’s manuscript of the play. He had written it with the actress Glenda Jackson in mind to play the Devil’s Lady. However, I do not think she ever got to read it. How many copies of the manuscript still exist I do not know, but I have one. With the Cadbury Kid, it was a bit of fun Maurice wrote to amuse us in his class.
With reference to my own work in the last stanza ode to a dying rose it relates to a poem posted up here called A Rose With A Tinted Past.

No Weapons Or Wars Won Can Impress
A misunderstanding occurs,
Throughout one's life...
When it is believed they maintain,
A controlling done over others.
And no weapons or wars won can impress.
Mother Nature seems always to find a way,
To display great warmth and intensity of feeling...
When there are those who choose to forget,
The only controlling to be done...
Is when Mother Nature decides to do it.
And...
With a dismantling of everything,
That seems to be suitable and effective.
To prevent 'Her' directive,
As enforced to command.

No Ambition
If you don’t seem to have much worldly ambition
and yet your life to date has been one of transition
as you move along without any clear steadfast decision
it’s like drifting about with no interest in any position.
There are many people who’re in the same boat
it’s a wonder how on earth they’re able to float
as the currents of life steer them here and there
making them go through things difficult to bear.
To live each day as it comes along without any plans for the future
isn’t so bad if you can get by and not be caught being a moocher.
Life doesn’t have any favourites and can be one compromise after another
as it really depends so much on what we think and do towards each other.
It’s very hard to always keep on the right track and so easy to go astray
as we’re lured in many different directions during the course of the day.
Though the tendency of all life is to go forward and make some progression
we should maintain a balance with nature being mindful of any regression.
Without a healthy desire to occupy our time here life can be a real drag
and any effort put forward in that direction we turn into habit and brag.
If we’ve built relationships with certain people they often do turn sour
in this age the emphasis is on enjoyment experienced within the hour.
As we look back then over our life all those years
and there doesn’t appear to be very many cheers
that we can associate with any good worldly success
it’s because without any ambition there’s no progress.

Baby vs Adult
Baby is dumb
Adult has wisdom
Babies are small and crawl
Adults are tall and fall
Baby demands
Adult commands
Baby yearns to walk
Adult learns to work
Baby weeps
Adult sleeps
You carry a baby
You marry an adult
Baby chokes
Adult smokes
Baby stays at home to play
Adult brings home the pay
Baby cries
Adult sighs
Baby spikes milk
Adults like silk
And I saved this for the last
Baby at birth
Adult at death
Baby vs Adult becomes a thing of the past

Musement
I was your safe, shallow fantasy;
esoteric exotic erotic
A prick which proved all too tempting;
erroneous onerous ironist
opportunity
I served as a
musement
for your
naughty little self indulgent vices
of grandiose regression...
Eroticized,
romanticized redeemer:
the one to release you
from banality’s
blue-boxed bonds
of ‘bivalent, bittersweet
repression
Your lurid licentious liaison
before the ring of
commitment’s unsettling lips
The proverbial odd man
in and out;
without
an easy chair
when the muse-ic finally died
