College on for sure... I'm scared to say it cause it sounds like a family movie, but if my kid was 7, 8, 9 I would take her to this quickly and gladly!

Scared
I'm scared of life and what i'll become
I'm scared of not being able to go on
I'm scared of what will happen
I'm scared of your reaction
I'm scared of letting go
I'm scared of what i don't know
I'm scared of losing you
I'm scared of being used
I'm scared of being hurt beyond repair
I'm scared of whats out there
I'm scared and so alone
I'm scared and searching for a place to call home
Will you hold me and fight away my fears
Will you tell me it's gonna be okay and wipe away my tears
Will you hold my hand as i walk through the dark
Will you stay and not leave or break my heart
Will you be there to pick me up when i fall down
Because i really need someone right now

Killer Wants To Go To College
Inmate
Killer wants to go to college
He wants to get his parole
So the department of corrections
Will release him in the fall
Killer wants to go on t.v.
Wants to talk about his book
Make my life into a movie
I got the style, I got the look.
Virgil
This boy used to be on death-row
Will his violence return?
Will he call out to his mother,
mama, you can watch me burn!

Why Can't Family Be Family Again
why can't family be family again
we used to always be friends
we used to huddle together
whenever we got scared
we felt the warmth in one anothers arms
because we knew the love was there
we used to build forts out of whatever we had in our rooms
and wage sars
throwing pillows, books, and brooms
we used to have mini mosh pits
with just the four of us
we headbanged and pushed
we screamed and pretended to cuss
we used to protect eachother
we used to defend one another
we used to stand together like brothers and sister
when mom punished us we would all resist her
we used to be a family
a family that would always care
we used to be a family with more happiness than despair
we used to be a family that never hogged food or air
we used to be a family that told eachother we were there
we used to be a family
a family that sat down toghether and ate
we used to be a family full of our own ideas that we create
we used to be a family that got along without debate
we used to be a family with more love than hate
so why can't family be family again
and remember why those times were so good
why can't family be family again
and treat eachother the way we should
why can't family be family again
and throw the hate away
why can't family be family again
and invite the love to stay

I Can't Breathe
I'm scared to sleep, I scared to dream
I'm scared to wake up in case I scream
I'm scared to whisper one word.
That's all it needs
I hear it breathe, I hear it sigh
I hear it laughing when something dies
I hear it calling
But I'm too scared to move
I'm so scared
I can't breathe
I'm so scared
I just can't breathe
I'm scared to look, I'm scared to see
I'm scared of mirrors in case it's me.
I'm scared of memories
But now thats all I have
So I can't leave and no-one comes
So no-one noticed that I've come undone.
I'd hide in shadows
But the shadows talk to me.
I'm so scared
I can't breathe
I'm so scared
I just can't breathe

We stayed there 24 hours a day. We lived and ate and slept that movie. We were enthusiastic, not just because of the movie, but because we had such a great collaborative team. We had a really good time. It was very much a family.

Love Comes Quickly
Sooner or later, this happens to everyone
To everyone
You can live your life lonely
Heavy as stone
Live your life learning
And working alone
Say this is all you want
But I dont believe that its true
cause when you least expect it
Waiting round the corner for you
Love comes quickly, whatever you do
You cant stop falling (ooh ooh)
Love comes quickly, whatever you do
You cant stop falling (ooh ooh)
You can live a life of luxury
If thats what you want
Taste forbidden pleasures
Whatever you want
You can fly away to the end of the world
But where does it get you to?
cause just when you least expect it
Just what you least expect
Love comes quickly, whatever you do
You cant stop falling (ooh ooh)
Love comes quickly, whatever you do
You cant stop falling (ooh ooh)
I know it sounds ridiculous, but speaking from experience
It may seem romantic, and thats no defense
Love will always get to you
Sooner or later, sooner or later, this happens to everyone
To everyone
You can fly away to the end of the world
But where does it get you?
Love comes quickly, whatever you do
You cant stop falling (ooh ooh)
Love comes quickly, whatever you do
You cant stop falling (ooh ooh)
Love comes quickly, whatever you do
You cant stop falling (ooh ooh)
(oooh)
Love comes quickly, whatever you do
You cant stop falling (ooh ooh)
Love comes quickly, whatever you do
You cant stop falling (ooh ooh)

Remembering You On A Hot Summer Day
college was not that cruel
we were in fact crazy, looking for thrills
dark movie houses, we tried to know what
rubbing means and touching the wrong parts
of our bodies, we spat we swallowed some
errors and laughed the hardest when we
finally got wet... with what? with whom?
when was that? do you remember?
do you miss them? or me?
the campus grounds were always greener
the trees with more leaves
and the chapel were full of us
worshippers
we had written more poems
that now when we try reading again
our bodies shake
we giggle about our romantic clumsiness
when we fell in love
to the wrong person the wrong time the wrong place
you left the country for good
hmmm, chicago and new york and maryland
dollars, in the name of the mighty dollars and
family above all
college and a new house, a farm to develop
students to send to universities
it is a hot summer day here
i am getting older and
hmm, not really lonelier, just missing you
just plain nostalgic moments
this clumsiness of being out of love
when everyone is getting over with poverty
escaping away from third world prisons
this sigh of not being one with the rest
they have forgotten how to read
the lines of poetry, moving on with their lives
away..... where can the rest be? i do not know...
but just in case.... here i am...it is still me
on a hot summer day...those college days...still clumsy...

True Laughter
So that's what it sounds like.
True Laughter.
I don't hear it that often.
Even when I do, it's quickly silenced,
usually by someone to afraid to let their guard down.
It sounds like running through the rain,
hands locked with friends that embrace who you are.
The friends that see through the stranger
that sometimes takes your place.
They don't even realize he's there
because truthfully,
he's not.
It sounds like tripping down memory lane,
reminiscing and smiling at awkward photos.
It sounds like talking to an old mentor that hasn't changed.
You show up on their doorstep two years late for class
and they still welcome you in.
It sounds like hot soup eaten in cold clothes;
sipping hot chocolate while watching
video tapes of an old friendship.
You smile and laugh,
because it was there and you had forgotten it existed.
Soon everyone's laughing because it was
and it is.
Then you realize
it always will be.
Huh
So that's what it sounds like.
True Laughter.

Far From Home
You two, father and son - went to look for
cars at auction, came back having bought
curtains for our son's bedroom, I was so
prejudiced - but you were right
Such great effect: grey, black and beige made
the yellow pelmet, remnant of a creative phase
when I spray-painted long ago; look beautiful,
his room has new appeal
Nici, my college daughter, doing research on
photographer Henri Cartier-Bresson whose
book ‘The Decisive Moment' shows photos
taken on the run, the title sounds
Like a horror movie, Nici says, I offer ideas which
are firmly rejected by the young demoiselle, she
knows her own mind - my nuclear family makes
life worthwhile, everybody giving advice
For a trip to Stonehenge in the Free State, a
Strategic Planning Session, Nici choosing
teddies to take along, Tiaan suggesting
books to read - while hubby lectures
On food that will be safe; I cherish my new
book, looking for a favourite pillow which
might help me to sleep when
I'm alone, far from home…
