Baseball's Sad Lexicon
These are the saddest of possible words:
Tinker to Evers to Chance.
Trio of Bear-cubs, fleeter than birds,
Tinker to Evers to Chance.
Ruthlessly pricking our gonfalon bubble,
Making a Giant hit into a double --
Words that are weighty with nothing but trouble:
Tinker to Evers to Chance.

Time To Tinker 'Roun'!
Summah 's nice, wif sun a-shinin',
Spring is good wif greens and grass,
An' dey 's some t'ings nice 'bout wintah,
Dough hit brings de freezin' blas;
But de time dat is de fines',
Whethah fiel's is green er brown,
Is w'en de rain 's a-po'in'
An' dey 's time to tinker 'roun.
Den you men's de mule's ol' ha'ness,
An' you men's de broken chair.
Hummin' all de time you 's wo'kin'
Some ol' common kind o' air.
Evah now an' then you looks out,
Tryin' mighty ha'd to frown,
But you cain't, you 's glad hit 's rainin',
An' dey 's time to tinker 'roun'.
Oh, you 'ten's lak you so anxious
Evah time it so't o' stops.
W'en hit goes on, den you reckon
Dat de wet 'll he'p de crops.
But hit ain't de crops you 's aftah;
You knows w'en de rain comes down
Dat's hit's too wet out fu' wo'kin',
An' dey 's time to tinker roun'.
Oh, dey 's fun inside de co'n-crib.
An' dey 's laffin' at de ba'n;

Er some one to tell a ya'n.
Dah 's a quiet in yo' cabin,
Only fu' de rain's sof soun';
So you 's mighty blessed happy
W'en dey 's time to tinker 'roun'!

Baby Break It Down
Baby break it down
Baby break it down
We've got a long way to go
Baby break it down
Baby break it down
We've got a long way to go
You're standing on your side
I'm standing on mine
It only needs one step
And you could be crossing the line
There's nothing between us
Or maybe too much
Whatever it is it's too fragile to touch
Baby break it down
Baby break it down
We got a long way to go
Baby break it down
Wrap your love around
Babe

Malfunction
Malfunction,
Eats through these dreams,
Shapes me into three,
Memories, beat my head,
Yeah, the race and the lies,
The ruined life destruction unfold of differn't shapes that explode,
The night, i push it further in the light,
Pulls me to the edge of where i lie.
The waves are falling back, into this circle of my life, where they crawl,
They push me back again into the knife malfunction, destruction,
They push me inside out, malfunction destruction,
They push me inside out, calm down and realize,
When the end is coming near.
They push, they push, they push me inside out.
They push, they push, they push my inside's out.
They push, they push, they tore me inside out.
Yeah, shot, kill me, shot down, uhh psych,
Now kill me, yeah, shot down, racing,
The future's nightmare,
Comes down through the windows of your house no cost of life,
Four consolations, never changed my mind, four reasons
They will take a life and drain it out of my soul.
Your call, no life, no way, they burn you,
No call, no life yeah, they push me inside out,
Yeah yeah yeah. they push me inside out,
Yeah yeah yeah, they push me inside out.

Break It To Me Gently
Words and music: paul dean, mike reno
Face to face, I can see that look in your eye
But are you looking at me
Cause you know things arent what they seem to be
Does it matter to you
Or have you played that game before
I can feel you across the room
I wanna know just what it takes
Cause you know that Ive made some mistakes
Ive been down that rood before
Dont want to feel like a wolf when im
Banging on your door
So, break it to me gentiy all night long
Break it to me gently or prove me wrong
Take me to the point of no return, oh yeah
Break it to me gently all night long
All night long
So tell me if Im wrong
But wasnt it you that gave up
Without a fight, last night
So tell me if Im reading you right
Thats when I felt that there was something going on
And now I know what I wanna see
When you walk that way
Do you walk that way for me
Gotta know
Or are you just putting on a show
Cause youre everything I want
And a little bit more
Break it to me gently all night long
Break it to me gently or prove me wrong
Take me to the point of no return, oh yeah
Break it to me gently all night long
So break it baby
Here we go
Oh, oh, oh, oh oh
Oh oh oh, oh oh
Oh, oh oh, oh oh
Oh, oh oh, oh oh
Break it to me gently all night long
Break it to me gently or prove me wrong
Take me to the point of no return, oh yeah
Break it to me gentry all night long
Break it to me gently all night long
Break it to me gently or prove me wrong
Take me to the point of no return, oh yeah
Break it to me gently all night long
All night

The Long Afternoon Became Longer
THE LONG AFTERNOON BECAME LONGER
The long afternoon became longer-
Time had no end and boredom also-
We all know it will eventually pass
But in the middle we are marooned waiting
Without any idea whatsoever of what to do-
I write these lines because I know
Boredom too has its beauty-
And waiting for nothing also its dream-
And out of nowhere there may come
Long into the long afternoon
Far after all the work is done and nothing remains
While waiting is still going on
A small poem to break the monotony
And give meaning back to life.

Long Way Home
(Hey) I'm driving down a dusty road
(Hey)I've got nowhere to go
(Hey) No place that I can call my own
On and on this road is burning
(Break away) I'm leaving all this crap behind
(Break away) The past is gone the future's blind
(Break away) Don't care how long it takes this time
On and on I'll take the long way home
The long way home (Whoah!)
The long way home (Whoah!)
If it's for me it's on the way home
(Hey) Like fragments of a broken mind
(Hey) I splinter by my own design
(Hey) The search is not a waste of time
On and on this road keeps burning
(Break away) My hands are glued upon the wheel
(Break away) The road ahead is all I feel
(Break away) The only thing left that's real
On and on I'll take this long way home
The long way home (Whoah!)
The long way home (Whoah!)
I will go alone
I will go and find it on my own
What lays ahead you can not find for me
On and on I'll take the long way home
The long way home (Whoah!)
The long way home (Whoah!)
If it's for me it's on the way home (Whoah!)
The long way home (Whoah!)
I'll take the long way home (Whoah-Whoah-oh!)
I will go alone
I will go and find it on my own

Eventually
I met a man
And talked about you
He seemed like a man from Osaka I knew
And he listened while I told him how you hurt me
And he consoled me when he told me he'd been hurt too
And he said we are inter-dependent
And the effects on each other never ending
And that the air has no boundaries
I think this water that surrounds me
Is the same water soaking through to you
So what comes floating to me
Eventually
Will come floating back to you
What comes floating to me
Eventually
Will come floating back to you
I had some tea
With a gal from Paris
We talked about life, sex, love and poetry
And you can't help it
Your name came up again
And she said man those kind of guys
Really know how to steal all of the oxygen
And I said we are inter-dependent
And the effects on each other never ending
And that the air has no boundaries
I think this water that surrounds me
Is the same water soaking' through to you
So what comes floating to me
Eventually
Will come floating back to you
What comes floating to me
Eventually
Will come floating back to you
I have a friend I confide in
He always says doll you got to learn not to lead with your chin
But you can't help it
It all comes up again
And then you have your fill
And your spill reaches down as far as a flood
So what comes floating to me
Eventually
Will come floating back to you
What comes floating to me
Eventually
Will come floating back to you
Eventually
Eventually
Will come floating back to you
Eventually
Eventually

The nonsense woman
The nonsense woman lives in our street
She really is not a pleasure to meet
She goes on and on about her cat Mylogie
And makes our day quite foggy
The nonsense woman went to the shops
That was just before she drops
Her cat Mylogie
And got quite soggy
The nonsense woman found another cat
The cat sat on her mat
She called it Tinker
Who was a bit of a stinker
The nonsense woman lay in bed
But to her lonliness and dread
Tinker and Mylogie were both gone
So these days she won't even eat a scone
Very much to our relief
She has got so much grief
She won't even come out her house
And all day is a quiet as a mouse

Break Your Plans
[intro]
Whatchu wanna do
Whatchu trying to say
Do you wanna play?
Do you wanna go?
Whatchu wanna do
Whatchu trying to say
Do you wanna play?
Do you wanna play with me?
Oh, baby take your time
Cuz I know you got somebody baby
And I know you want me so
So later, meet me here at 10:00
But I cant call you on the phone
Cuz you got someone at home
So hit me on my cell, 275-4321
I know that you wanna be with me
Tonight, break your plans with your man
Cuz you been thinking about me all day long
Baby, break your plans with your man
Oh baby, understand
Im ready if youre willing
(Im ready to get down)
To take a chance
Cuz if he finds out
He might not like it
So keep it on the down low
Dont tell nobody, oh no
What goes on between us
Stays between us
Some might say that its cheating
But all Im doin is creepin
Cuz all I know is I got you feinin, feinin
I know that you wanna be with me
Tonight, break your plans with your man
Cuz you been thinking about me all day long
Baby, break your plans with your man
I know you want me
Lets get busy
Tonight, lady break your plans with your man
Do you wanna play?
(do you wanna play baby? )
(do you wanna play? )
I know, I know, I know, I know
I know that you wanna be with me
Tonight, break your plans with your man
Cuz you been thinking about me all day long
Baby, break your plans with your man
I know that you wanna be with me
Tonight, break your plans with your man
Cuz you been thinking about me all day long
Baby, break your plans with your man
I know that you wanna be with me
Tonight, break your plans with your man
Cuz you been thinking about me all day long
Baby, break your plans with your man
I know that you wanna be with me
Tonight, break your plans with your man
Cuz you been thinking about me all day long
Baby, break your plans with your man

Cherry Stones for Kate
Tinker, Windsor castle,
Tailor, Savile Row,
Soldier, head of regiment,
Sailor, Heave-ho.
Rich man - very rich man,
Poor man - more's the pity.
Beggar man, beggars belief,
which of you will be the thief?
Tinker Tailor Soldier Sailor
Every marriage is a failure
yet marriage is a common fate.
These are cherry stones for Kate.

Break Down And Let It All Out
Break down and let it all out
Break down and let it all out
I've held back my tears
Just as long as I could
But now my eyes can see
It's all over for you and me
And holding back ain't gonna do no good
I'm gonna break down and let it all out
Break down and let it all out
I've hidden my heart too many times before
Now my aching heart knows that we're apart
And I can't hide it anymore
So I'm gonna break down and let it all out
Break down and let it all out
I remember when you used to love me and oh how sweet it was...
but it's not enough just to remember, 'cause
what good is the past?
once upon a time...
All those old memories can set my heart at ease
So before I loose my mind...yeah
I'm gonna break down and let it all out
Break down and let it all out
My eyes are open and now I see it's all over for you and me
Break down and let it all out
Break down and let it all out
Now my aching heart knows that we're apart
Break down and let it all out
Break down and let it all out
All those old memories can set my heart at ease
Break down and let it all out
Break down and let it all out...

How Long Baby
How long, how long baby,
Can this love of ours go on?
How long, how long baby,
cause I know, I know youve been doin me wrong
Youve been seen all over town
Playin the field puttin me down
How long can this go on?
How long, how long baby
Must you treat me like a fool?
How long, how long baby,
Dont you know, youre breakin the rules?
Do you think its only a game?
The way that youre actin,
Youll drive me insane,
How long can this go on?
(instrumental)
I wanna know, how long, how long baby,
Must you tear my soul apart?
How long, how long baby,
When you break, when you break my heart
Oh wont you, change your ways,
Come on back, let me hear you say
That we will start anew
I need you so, I need you so
I need you so, whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa

Love And Only Love
Long ago in book of old, before the chapter were dreams unfold
A battle raged on open page,
Love was a winner there overcoming hate
Like a little girl who couldn't wait
[Chorus]
Love and only love will endure
Hate is everything you think it is
Love and only love will break it down
Love and only love, will break it down
Break it down
Break it down
Tomorrow is a long long time if you're a memory
Trying to find piece of mind
Spirit come to me, give strength and set me free
Let me feel the magic in my heart
[Chorus]
(repeat first verse)
Love and only love will endure
Hate is everything you think it is
Love and only love will break it down
Love and only love
