The only way to ensure a film is going to sell is put Will Smith in it and you open it in 3,000 theaters and make sure we have all the top promotional spots in each venue.

NC-17 means that you get it in like 3 theaters. They won't run the spots on MTV, won't run the advertising. It's the kiss of death so there was really no other choice.

So it is fair enough that you are paying me what I ask for, because it is my name you are using to sell the film. If the producer gives me a guarantee that he will sell the film at a lower price to the distributors, fair enough, then I will charge less!

Leopard
Leopards with their spots
Four legged polka dots
Jaguars too have spots
Leopard have densely spots
Jaguars have central spots
You and I call them spots
But Zoologist calls them
'Rosettes' which doesn't rhyme with spots.
Better to call them 'spots'
because it rhymes with 'dots.'
With In the Company of Men, the misogynist label stuck early and firmly. In the end, it probably did hurt the film a bit, because getting women into the theaters was difficult.

I am a great liar!
I shall never believe
that a liar can not tell
a lie or a gold smith tell
the truth, the thing rather
I shall believe that a liar is
an excellent word-smith,
though I am a great liar
but a lesser poet, what a
logic! Keep secret the
secrets, do not open the
box you can not tolerate,
in the name of truth people
engaged in trade to sell the
sugar coated words keeping
hate in the heart

The Washington black community was able to succeed beyond his wildest dreams. I mean, we had our own newspapers, our own restaurants, our own theaters, our own small shops, our own clubs, our own Masonic lodges.
To make a film and to sell it to the distributors you need a name.

To Hire and Air Your View
If you have no venue on which to air
What you have got to deliver,
You feel most miserable,
And hire a venue and air it.

Sony could have $50 million and a sound stage and A-list actors and never make the same film. The constraints on this film became the essence of this film, became the power of this film.

I'm hoping that word-of-mouth on the film - people seeing it and liking it - that that will drive more people to the theaters, because I haven't seen the billboards or the posters or anything.

Ultimately, it has been a struggle- but I was in Minneapolis and Austin a couple of weeks ago, sitting in theaters with complete strangers watching this weird movie that Kirk and I thought up and I was excited to be making film.

Champa
If want to make night dreams fragrant
garden ornamental and wet in scent;
ensure Champa is there.
In temple at worship you wish to offer
In weddings, festivals need the flowers
ensure champa is there.
Honey bees can't know what's here
girls go aromatic with Champa in hair
ensure champa is there.
If you want vampires and ghosts
Play their mischief in cemetery itself
ensure Champa is there.
Contained five elements in our body
Champa holds five petals to signify
ensures champa is there.

Our Life
Our life appears akin the floor
Of mosaic tiles, spotted, three hues;
Each tile denotes a month that passed;
The spots refer to good and bad!
Umpteen are grey spots – venial sins,
By habit done, incessantly;
The fewer black spots – mortal sins,
Against the Ten Commands of God!
The spots of white were good deeds done;
Some tiles had few, some had galore;
The size of dots too varied much;
Such tiles were scarcely found and rare!
We yearn to see the floor all tiled,
With spots of white, all huge and bright;
Yet, earthly life is what we make
By labour, done in heaven’s light!

The hardware manufacturers, game designers, cable companies and computer companies and, in fact, film studios are going to ensure that this thing marches on. They know that they are going to make an enormous amount of money from it.

Used Car Sales People
With the gift of the gab they would talk their way out of hell
These used car sales people they know how to sell
On their selling ability their jobs are at stake
The more cars they do sell the more commission they do make
On any deals they clinch they have never lost
And your trust on such people can come at a cost
The more cars they sell the more money they get paid
A hard job to succeed in the used car trade,
Shy and sensitive used car sales people one might say are rare
To sell one a car no effort they do spare
They have to sell cars or their boss them will fire
And other used car yard owners as car sales people them will not hire
The more cars they sell the greater is their pay
So to sell you a car they try every which way.

Mr. Smith
don't you realize, Mr. Smith?
don't you realize what thirty dollars buy today?
just some stockings, and that's it.
I came from Havanah
my mother was wild as you are
she often said to me
my child, don't sell yourself
for just a dollar or two
if you end up like me
god bless you, child
so think it over
for that littlemoney
you give to me, Mr. Smith
